Sona and Tsubaki arrived in a small wooded area where an old schoolhouse stood. The building rose three stories high, with the third story housing a distinctive clock tower. Its exterior, once painted white, had weathered over time, now adorned with patches of black roof tiles and creeping vines that reached up to the second floor. Despite its worn appearance, the building retained an air of eerie charm. As they stepped inside the schoolhouse, they were met with an interior of the schoolhouse that appeared remarkably well-preserved. The floors gleamed under the soft light filtering in through the windows from a recent polish.
Sona and Tsubaki ascended to the second floor, their footsteps echoing softly against the polished wooden floors, they approached a set of imposing double doors. Sona knocked lightly on the door waiting for a response. "Come in."Voice, Pushing the doors open, they stepped into a spacious room. Two plush couches faced each other, separated by a low coffee table adorned with a vase of fresh flowers. Behind the couches, a desk stood against the wall, occupied by a woman with striking crimson red hair that cascaded down her shoulders. Seated on one of the couches was a young girl with white hair, her attention focused on a plate of sweets before her. Across from her sat a blonde-haired boy, meticulously polishing a sword with practiced precision. The atmosphere in the room was serene, punctuated only by the occasional sound of the sword being buffed to a shine. Sona and Tsubaki exchanged polite greetings as they entered. "Hello, Rias, it's good to see you again," Sona, a small smile lighting up her features. "Hello, Sona. It's good to see you as well. What brings you today?" Rias, She returned the smile.Rias glanced over at Tsubaki, noticing the torn and dirt-stained clothes she wore. "Care to explain why your queen is all battered and bruised?" Rias, Sona adjusting her glasses with a calm demeanor. "She was attacked by a group of devils. They appeared to be affiliated with the Old Satan Faction." Sona, Rias's eyes widened in shock. "Why didn't you call me when you got to her? We could have helped." Rias, She was becoming slightly frustrated at Sona. "Well, when me and another member of my peerage arrived, she was there alone with nobody around." Sona, Rias raised an eyebrow at this revelation. "What do you mean?" Rias, Her curiosity was piqued.
Tsubaki stepped forward slightly, her expression serious. "There was another person there who killed all of the faction members, but there was another thing." Tsubaki, Rias crossed her arms under her chest and leaned back in her chair, her expression pensive. "The person who helped me had a sacred gear," Tsubaki, Rias's eyes widened in surprise, and the room fell silent as everyone absorbed this revelation. "What was this sacred gear that he had?" Rias, her curiosity driving her to seek more information. Tsubaki shook her head, her brows furrowing in thought. "I don't know. It was one that I don't recognize from the intel we have on sacred gears," Tsubaki, Her tone tinged with frustration. Rias stood from her chair, her posture commanding attention as she stepped forward to stand in front of the desk. "Care to explain what exactly it did?" Rias, Her tone firm yet curious. Tsubaki nodded, her expression serious. "When he activated it, a red light appeared around his arms, and the bodies of the faction members sunk beneath the ground," Tsubaki, Rias stared at Tsubaki in bewilderment, processing this information carefully. "Sounds mighty intriguing. We might want to investigate this." Girl, A raven-haired girl interjected as she emerged from a different room. Rias nodded in agreement, her mind already formulating plans. "I agree, Akeno. Sona, would you be willing to show us where this interaction took place?" Rias, she turned slightly to Sona. Sona nodded in response, her demeanor composed. With a swift motion, she activated a magic circle, signaling for the others to follow. Rias silently commanded her followers to accompany them as they made their way next to Sona and Tsubaki.
The group disappeared from the room and arrived in the courtyard where the fight took place. Rias could sense the multiple bodies around them, a grim reminder of the violence that had occurred. She kneeled and placed a hand on the ground, feeling the lingering traces of power from the bodies. "How frightening, such power," Rias, She murmured to herself her expression solemn as she absorbed the magnitude of the situation. She rose back up and turned to Tsubaki, her gaze steady. "Do you know which way he went?" Rias inquired, her tone serious. Tsubaki nodded, her brow furrowing in concentration as she recalled the events. "He walked that way." Tsubaki, she pointed in a specific direction. "But then I lost track of where he went from there." Tsubaki, her voice tinged with frustration at her inability to follow his movements.Rias turned her attention to the girl with white hair. "Koneko, can you pick up where he went from here?" Rias, She nodded in response, her expression focused as she concentrated on her surroundings. Closing her eyes briefly, she extended her senses outward, searching for any traces of the individual's residual aura. After a moment, she opened her eyes and nodded confidently. "I think I can track his scent. Follow me," Koneko said, leading the group in the direction indicated by Tsubaki. The group headed after Koneko only to stop when they noticed that Sona and Tsubaki weren't following, Rias turned to face them. "We won't be following, as I'm going to get my queen patched up. Please be safe and report back what happened." Sona, Rias nodded. "Understood. Take care, Sona. We'll handle things from here," Rias, With a final nod of acknowledgment, Rias and her group continued following Koneko, leaving Sona and Tsubaki behind to attend to their own matters. The two leaving in a teleportation circle.
The boy landed with a thud on the ground, with some dust kicking up from his landing. He slowly placed around for any threats and made his way through the abandoned building to a room with a makeshift bed, next to it was a hole filled with water. He set his scabbards and swords next to the door and made it over to the water. He saw his reflection in the water, he noticed the blood on his shirt. He took it off revealing a well toned body with multiple scars across his body. He saw the wound on his side, he placed his hand in the water, it started to glow a red color. It took a bit but it started to bubble. After a bit he climbed into the water. The boy winced slightly as the water touched his wound, feeling the sting of its touch. Despite the discomfort, he persisted, knowing the importance of cleaning and tending to his injury. Gritting his teeth, he submerged himself deeper into the water, allowing it to soothe the ache and cleanse the wound. After a while, he climbed out of the water, feeling refreshed and somewhat relieved. Changing into dry clothes, he made his way to the bed, his muscles still tense with anticipation. Closing his eyes, he sought rest, but his mind remained alert, wary of any potential threats that might lurk in the shadows. Despite the weariness weighing on his body, he remained vigilant, ready to spring into action at the slightest sign of intrusion.
An hour had passed since the group left the courtyard following the residual path the person left behind. They were outside of town in an abandoned construction site of a never fully developed neighborhood. "Stay on alert, we don't know who or what they are dealing with." Rias, She went to go forward but took notice of Koneko, who stood still petrified. She rushed over to her Rook. She slightly kneeled in front of her. She whispered to her. "What's wrong?" Rias, Koneko didn't respond at first but Rias shook her a bit. Koneko looked her in the eyes. "I sense a dragon." Koneko, Ria's eyes widened in shock and horror. But she quickly composed herself. "It will be alright. I'll protect you." Rias, she smiled and Koneko sheepishly smiled back. With a deep breath, Rias turned back towards the path ahead, her resolve unshaken by the revelation of a dragon's presence. Leading her peerage forward, she maintained a vigilant stance, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. With each step, she remained keenly aware of her surroundings, prepared to confront the unknown with courage and determination.
The floorboards creaked through the dimly lit room as the boy shifted as he sensed the arrival of unwanted guests. With a low growl rumbling in his chest, he abandoned the comfort of his makeshift bed, his muscles tensing in anticipation of the impending confrontation. The air grew heavy with tension, with a fluid motion, he rose to his full height. As the approaching footsteps drew nearer, the boy's instincts honed in on the threat. With a primal snarl curling his lips, he prepared to confront the intruders. "More of you devils to deal with." Boy, He growled to himself, the red light materializing on his hands. His swords responded to his command, flying into his grasp with a practiced ease. With a swift swing, he dissipated the crimson glow. The presence of approaching devils only intensified the tension.
As Rias and her group approached the building emitting the aura, they proceeded cautiously, acutely aware of the potential dangers that awaited them. Each step was deliberate, their senses heightened, and their guard raised to confront whatever challenges lay ahead. The structure loomed before them, its dilapidated façade casting eerie shadows in the dim light. Moss-covered walls stood as silent sentinels, bearing witness to the passage of time and the secrets concealed within. Rias, leading the way, felt the weight of responsibility on her shoulders, knowing that their encounter with the enigmatic figure inside could have far-reaching consequences. Her peerage trailed closely behind, their expressions a mix of apprehension and determination. Kiba gripped his sword tightly, ready to defend his comrades at a moment's notice. Akeno, her gaze sharp and focused, prepared her magic for any unforeseen threats. As Rias and her peerage entered the center the abandoned neighborhood, a sense of unease settled over them like a heavy shroud. Despite their caution, they couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, their senses tingling with apprehension. Rias, ever vigilant, motioned for her peerage to halt, her instincts warning her of impending danger. The group came to a stop, their senses on high alert as they scanned their surroundings for any sign of threat. "Be on your guard." Rias, Her peerage nodded in silent agreement, their eyes darting around the room as they prepared for whatever might lie ahead. As they waited, the oppressive atmosphere seemed to thicken, the sensation of being watched growing more intense with each passing moment. Suddenly, the aura seemed to shift, moving around them like a predatory beast stalking its prey. Rias tensed, her senses honed to a razor's edge as she prepared to confront whatever was lurking about. With bated breath, they waited for the inevitable confrontation, ready to face whatever awaited them in the depths of the abandoned building.
As the devil's presence drew closer, the boy's instincts kicked in, prompting him to take action. "Only four, but they do have a very strong aura to them. Mustn't take them too lightly," Boy, Sizing up the approaching threat. With calculated precision, the boy charged through the nearest wall, his powerful form crashing through with a force that sent debris scattering in all directions. Flipping through the air with practiced agility, he landed with a heavy thud behind the unsuspecting group of devils. The sudden appearance of the figure caught the devils off guard, their attention swiftly turning to face the imposing figure now standing before them in a battle stance. Dust settled around the boy, revealing his eye gleaming with a mix of hostility and caution, his muscles tensed and ready for whatever might unfold. The air crackled with tension as the devil's group somewhat readied themselves for a confrontation, uncertainty, and unease coursing through their ranks as they faced this unexpected adversary.A red haired girl, the leader of the approaching group, took a step forward, hands slightly raised in a gesture of peace. "We come here peacefully, we don't mean any harm to you." Rias, hoping to diffuse the situation, kept her voice calm. "What do you want, devils!" The boy, His response was laced with hostility, his left eye narrowing at the group. "You helped save our friend. So we came to thank you." Riad, The boy hummed to himself, a subtle acknowledgment. "I didn't save her on a whim, she just happened to be there." The boy, the agitation still evident. "Nonetheless, we wish to thank you and talk with you," Rias replied. She held her hands out to show their willingness for diplomacy. The boy, sensing the shift in dynamics, reluctantly lowered his swords, though his guard remained steadfast. "What is it you wish to know?" Boy, He still had some slight agitation in his response. The blonde-haired boy in the group, growing increasingly agitated, decided to take a stand against what he perceived as disrespect. "Enough, we will take your disrespect no longer." Blonde, raising his sword in a show of defiance, with the boy raising his in response. Rias intervened swiftly, glancing at the agitated boy. "Kiba, don't escalate things as the situation is already tense enough." Rias, She gave him his only warning, successfully convincing him to lower his sword. She breathed a sigh of momentary relief, then turned her attention back to the boy. "I am Rias Gremory, I am in charge of this area. As you can see, we mean you do no harm and just want some information, if you are willing to cooperate," she explained, holding her hands out to emphasize their diplomatic intentions."What is it you wish to know?" Boy, the agitation still lingering in his voice. Rias, undeterred, cut straight to the point. "We wish to know why you are in our territory." Rias, The boy's guarded stance revealed his reluctance to share too much. "Straight to the point, I am here seeking refuge for a bit, then I was going to leave," he disclosed, his words leaving a lingering air of mystery. Rias, curious about the circumstances prompting his refuge, asked, "Why would a dragon such as yourself be seeking refuge?" Rias, The boy's guarded demeanor remained unchanged. "How did you know?!" Boy, His guard perked back up a bit. Sensing this Rias hassened her response. "I could sense it from when we entered the area." Rias, The boy lowered his guard back down, Rias sighed to herself. "To your question, to my circumstance being here, I am hunting someone and being hunted myself." Boy, Rias raised a curious brow, seeking more clarification. "What circumstances would those be?" she inquired further. However, The boy shook his head, refusing to disclose that personal aspect of his reason being here. "I'm very sorry, but that is personal, so no offense, but I won't be tell you." Boy, Understanding the sensitivity of the matter, Rias accepted his decision. "No offense taken. Very well, then. However, let me be clear on one issue. If you cause any trouble in my territory, there will be consequences. This place is under my protection, and I will not tolerate any violent acts against the citizens here, and this goes double for the other devils who live here. Remember that," Rias, She concluded her conversation with a firm reminder of the expectations and boundaries within her territory. As she turned to leave, a thought crossed her mind. She turned back to the boy. "If you wish to have better refuge, we would be willing to help you, seeing as you helped one of our own. But it would come with a price." Rias, The boy sneered at the proposition but seemed to consider it. "Give me time to think about it if you are willing to return here tomorrow." Boy, Before the group departed, Rias sought one more piece of information. "May we have your name?" Rias, The boy turned back to them. "The name is Typhion, Typhion Yoidcaith. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Rias Gremory. Until the next visit." Typhion, then retreated back into the abandoned building. As Typhion made his way back inside the abandoned building, he walked over to a corner with his scabbards. As he carefully placed his swords back into their protective covers, he began to contemplative what had transpired. The encounter with Rias lingered in his mind, their offer of assistance. Despite the complexities of the situation, Typhion found himself caught between the harsh reality of his solitary existence and the tentative possibility of an alliance with unexpected allies.
As soon as the group left the area, Kiba immediately confronted Rias. "Why give him assistance when he saw open hostility and had no respect for you." Kiba, Rias paused, considering Kiba's question carefully before responding. "Assistance isn't always about reciprocating respect, Kiba. It's about extending a hand when someone is in need, regardless of their attitude towards us. Besides, we still have much to learn about this individual and his circumstances. It's not wise to jump to conclusions based on a single encounter." Rias, Her demeanor was calm. "Not only did he help one of us unknowingly, he has no one. Always good to help those in need even if they may not know it or want it." Akeno, Akeno's words resonated with Rias, and she nodded in agreement. "Exactly, Akeno. Compassion and kindness can make a difference, even when the recipient may not immediately recognize it. We'll keep an eye on him and see how things unfold." Rias, Kiba didn't respond just grumbled to himself, Kiba's reluctance was understandable given the circumstances, but Rias hoped that with time, he would come to see the value in their approach. "Plus I might be able to get him to join us." Rias, She considered the potential of recruiting Typhion into their ranks. His formidable abilities and independent nature could prove valuable assets to their team, if they could earn his trust and cooperation. Rias activated a teleportation circle then Rias and her peerage materialized in the old school building. The soft glow of the magic circle dissipated, revealing Sona standing before them, her posture composed yet expectant. Rias stepped forward, her gaze meeting Sona's with a sense of purpose. "We've returned." Rias, Sona nodded in acknowledgment, her demeanor calm yet attentive. As Rias surveyed the room, her eyes lingered on each member of her peerage, taking note of their varied expressions. Kiba's stance remained rigid, his brows furrowed in silent contemplation. Akeno stood beside him, her demeanor serene yet watchful, a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips. Meanwhile, Koneko's gaze seemed distant, her thoughts perhaps lingering on the encounter. Rias made a mental note to check in with her later, ensuring she was coping well with the unexpected revelation. With a sense of determination, Rias addressed Sona. "We have much to discuss." Rias, Her tone carrying a hint of urgency. Sona nodded in agreement, her eyes reflecting a shared sense of purpose.
With the members of Rias's peerage dispatched on their respective contract jobs, the atmosphere in the old school building shifted, leaving Sona and Rias with a moment of respite to discuss the recent developments. Rias leaned forward slightly, her expression thoughtful as she recounted the information she had gleaned from their encounter with the boy. Sona listened attentively, her keen intellect processing each detail with precision. "It's clear that this individual possesses formidable abilities, and his intervention in Tsubaki's ordeal raises intriguing questions about his motives and intentions." Rias, Sona nodded in agreement, her gaze focused as she considered the implications of their conversation. "Indeed, We must proceed cautiously, especially given the unknown nature of his sacred gear." Sona, A question popped to her. "One question?" Sona, Rias looked up at her. "Will you be going alone tomorrow for his answer?" Sona, Sona's question hung in the air, prompting Rias to pause and consider her response carefully. After a moment of reflection, she met Sona's gaze with a determined expression. "Yes, I believe it's best if I handle this matter personally. Given the delicate nature of our interactions with Typhion, I want to ensure that our approach is both diplomatic and respectful." Rias, Sona nodded in understanding, though a flicker of concern flashed across her features. "Very well just remember we don't know what he is capable of, we still have much to learn about this individual, and it's important that we remain vigilant." Sona, Rias acknowledged Sona's words with a grateful smile. "Thank you, Sona. I'll keep your advice in mind." Rias, As Sona departed, Rias found herself alone, her thoughts swirling with anticipation and uncertainty. With tomorrow's meeting with Typhion looming on the horizon, she knew that careful planning and strategic diplomacy would be essential. Seated at the desk, Rias leaned forward, her brow furrowed in deep contemplation. She considered the various angles from which to approach Typhion, weighing the potential risks and rewards of each course of action. With a resolute nod, Rias rose from her seat, her mind made up.
