Chapter Three: Cancelling Hockey Practice Again!
"She was but, decided to come visit early, look," Clio began to say showing the text which Lars opened his left eye seeing the text from their Abuela and got up quickly "See I told you," she quickly added.
"Why is she coming two weeks early, we haven't even prepared the babies room yet,"
"What do you mean?"
"The Quints isn't coming till February or somewhere around there. The baby shower isn't even ready yet,"
"How come?"
"We been busy plus I haven't got my mom a present yet,"
"Awee you're giving you're a mom a present,"
"Shut up,"
"Well, that's good news because by then my bestie Reggie will be home?" Clio chirped.
"Umm what?"
"What? Reggie is coming home,"
"Wait what? She is?"
"Yes,"
"When did you find out,"
"Just now when I was talking to her until Otto hogged the phone,"
"Why did he do that for?"
"He said he needed to talk to her about the flights on when and what time Reggie will arrive"
"And when is she arriving,"
"Two weeks from now,"
"Huh…"
"That's it? that's all you gotta say?"
"What do you want me to say?"
"Ummm hello you're like HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH HER,"
"Don't say that out loud I don't want anyone to hear that," Lars hissed at her.
"Well, you are,"
Lars held his breath "Yes I'm aware of that but, how do you think she's going to feel when she finds out,"
Clio grinned at this "I wouldn't worry about it too much," she gave a kiss to her cousin on the cheek "Besides…I wouldn't give up on her just yet," she quickly added.
"Who said I gave up on her,"
"No one but, from what you just said it seems to me that you did,"
"I haven't I mean I tried…lord knows I tried but, I can't seem to—" Lars stopped noticing Clio's grinning face "Never mind…can you at least let me change first?"
"It's not like I haven't seen you half naked before?"
Lars glared with no response.
"Fine, fine I'll let you change don't forget we have training,"
"Training no we don't,"
"Yes, we do. Abuela isn't really coming I'm only saying that because we need to train but, Abuela will come in two weeks so it's all working out," Clio chirped out.
"Don't you have hockey practice with the guys," Lars asked raising his eyebrow at her.
Clio blinked her eyes owlishly hitting herself on the forehead "Oh shoot…I forgot about that…well…we can always postpone the hockey practice, can't we?"
"You could but, Rocket dork isn't going to like that," Lars pointed out.
Clio paused for a moment looking around "I know he'll get mad but, he'll get over it," she quickly added.
"And how do you know that?"
"I just do ….besides didn't you say we have to train nonstop this past week?"
"Well yea but—"
"And didn't you said that we shouldn't have any distractions,"
"Well yes I did say that but—"
"Annnnnd didn't you said no matter how much Twister and I complain you always said no matter how tired we are, whining or whatever we need to train to defend ourselves in case there's a major battle which is doubtful but, you can never know and also said we need to double no triple our patrols around the forest and—"
"Okay, okay I get it. You made your point"
"If you get it then what's the problem?"
Lars stared at his cousin Clio with a serious look on her face and sighed tiredly "Nothing, nothing it's just I made plans with my friends that's all I don't want to go overboard with the training since Twister is still new at it,"
Clio nodded "He is but, he'll get there. It takes some time Lars you know that" she pointed out.
Lars rolled his eyes staring at the window for a short moment "Don't remind me…" he began to say grabbing his clothes and towel "Alright, I'm going to take a quick shower and change meet you downstairs at the car say…half an hour? This shouldn't take long," he explained.
"Okay captain," Clio sarcastically says.
Lars rolled his eyes in response and gave a glare at his cousin who smiled sweetly at him. After a few minutes Lars came out of the bathroom grumbling under his breath heading downstairs.
Otto's P.O.V.
"Yo lil bro where are you heading?" he asked putting on his beanie on his head grumbling under his breath something about Clio waking him up from a good dream or something which left me to shrug it off.
"Hockey practice is today Otto and the guys along with Clio and I since we need to practice the championships is coming up, so have a tight schedule to practice due to school and work since we haven't had a chance to practice yet," Twister began to say as he slowly turns around with a raise eyebrow towards his brother "Why? Don't tell me we have to cancel again?" he explained.
"Okay I won't tell you," Lars flatly replied.
Twister blinked his eyes owlish "Huh you were the one who said—"
"I KNOW WHAT I—" Lars started to get frustrated and quickly calms himself "Just do what you're told little brother" who gave a dark icy cold look which left Twister to shift uncomfortable as he turned to me "Oh and Rocket—" as he swore under his breath in Spanish "Rocket—Rocket…" he gave a frustrated growl "OTTO"
"Yes…?"
"My brother and Clio can't go with you guys for practice," Lars snapped causing us to jump from his growl.
Koeni gulped hiding behind me "Ho-how come?" he asked shakily.
"We're picking up our grandma at the airport and she wanted to see her little Maurice to greet her" Clio babied Twister's cheeks where he protest.
"Awe man Clio why do you and Reg keep doing that," Twister grumbled leaving us to laugh
"Bussst," The guys and I laughed.
"Very funny guys," Twister grumbled rubbing his cheeks.
"Speaking of Reggie have you guys talked to her yet?" Clio asked putting her hair up where I could've sworn, I saw Lars blushed but, coughed it off mumbling in Spanish.
"Didn't you just talked to Reg this morning Clio," Sammy asked.
Clio sighed dramatically "Well I was…until someone—" she gave an icy cold glare at me causing me to blink my eyes owlish "Decided to hog the phone before I talk to her, so no I haven't got a chance to talk to her since this morning," she explained.
Sam blinked his eyes owlish "Oh…well I'm sure you and Reggie will catch up when she gets home Clio," he explained.
"True," Clio replied putting her skates.
"But, speaking of Reggie I did talk to her last Saturday she's been studying nonstop on those finals now. She shouldn't be done today as far as I know," Sam pointed out.
"Yeah, she's probably busy with the finals and celebrating that school is finally over and we can finally go to school together for our senior year I'm so excited I have so many plans for us to do," Clio excitedly began to say until she got another text and gave another sigh "Damn it…be right back Lars. I have to I have to grab something quick apparently Abuela wants me to grab something for her," she announced once again she race upstairs so quick before Lars can answer; however, he didn't pay much attention as he rolled his eyes turning to Twister who dragged his duffle bag full of stuff putting them inside the truck.
"Fine with me," Lars announced turning to his brother and his friends "Hey lil bro tell Clio I'll be warming up the car before we head out," he shrugged his shoulders heading to his Hummer Truck Toyota apparently his parents gave it to him and turn on the radio playing some rock punk music in blast waiting by the side street before Twister can protest "No excuses dork, you heard what mom said we have to aid Abuela you know how she is especially when mom's pregnant with the quints within 4 1/2 months we have to be prepared for their arrival you know that," he pointed out.
"Yeah but, but, but, but, but—hockey practice we have—" Twister protested at this only Lars gave a glower look.
"I know you made plans for hockey practice but, Abuela is here we have to pick her up no excuses," Lars argued back "Since she's not used to the city remember, you think I haven't made plans with my friends since I have to cancel on them as well so don't give me that lame excuse we have to pick her up we promised mom didn't we, so go to the car so we can get going," he explained.
Twister sighed kicking the floor in defeat "Okay… okay…" he began to say turning to me with a half-smile noticing my irritated look "Sorry Ottoman I know we have the championships coming up … but, we're going to have to rain check on hockey practice…because— "where he stopped noticing Lars giving him a glower icy dark look "I uh forgot about the whole picking up my Abuela she was supposed to arrive in 2 weeks but, couldn't wait any longer and came early. I'll make it up to you Otto man," he explained as he skated away to get inside Lars Rammer Trunk.
Before I can answer Clio raced back meeting up with her cousins then gave us a sweet smile "Bye Otto, bye Sammy bye Keoni we'll meet you guys at the Shack around… 5:00ish in the latest kay?" Clio began to say giving us a kiss on the cheek "Toddles," she waved us goodbye.
"But Clio the champ— "I was cut off where she shushes me by kissing me on the lips which left me to freeze and stared at her in shock then kissed me on the cheek.
"Will you relax Otto you do know the championships isn't for another six months, right?" Clio asked ignoring my gawking stunned look.
"Yeah but, but, but, but, but—" I was cut off by Clio who kissed me hard on the lips causing me to stare at her with wide eyes "The championships…" he murmured.
"I know, you told us so many times we don't need a reminder Otto," Clio sighed not really paying attention as she was too busy reapplying her lip gloss and heard another *beep* *beep* text and gave a smack kiss sound "With us being so busy all the time while we're balancing that with school and work," she argued back.
"Exactly since we've been so busy we finally managed to balance our schedule and yet we haven't got a chance to mmph—"I was cut off by Clio only this time she kissed me hard that I didn't realize I dropped my skateboard, hockey sticks, without thinking I grabbed her by the waist and kissed her back while Sam and Koeni dropped their jaws staring at us kissing until I realize what I just did by staring at her with a stunned expression while she had the same expression "Practice," he drifted cleared his throat who she looked away cleared her throat which was very unlike me and her as well which I'm assuming she's startled. I wasn't expecting myself to kiss her back but, damn that was a good—no not a good kiss it was…amazing, nice…and I didn't expect her to do that since we're good friends best friends…but, now…I'm confuse and honestly don't know what to do since this is Twister's & Lars cousin who happens to be my sister's best friend.
"I know you want to beat these guys but, will you take a chill pill and relax Otto. The championships aren't for another six months from now, so we have plenty of time to practice despite our busy schedule at school and work. I know we've been busy all the time with work, with school, and everything but, it's not like we asked for this Otto… " Clio softly began to say which I licked my lips nervously about to argue but, she cut me off "I know you don't want to hear this but, you can even go to the beach to relax or something. Maurice and I will be out of there before you know it okay so just… relax okay…" she explained.
"Wh—why—why would you— kiss me like that?" I asked.
Unfortunately, Clio didn't hear me as she was looking away "Jeez it's not that big of a deal," she scoffed at this "Just go to the beach and surf Otto," she argued back.
"Not… not a big deal..." I grumbled under my breath "Of course it's a big deal … you know it is," I cried out.
"Okay look… " Clio sighed tiredly staring at me trying to calm me down by rubbing my shoulders which left me to shiver not sure why but, it did "You need to RELAX macho man I know you're stubborn or whatever but, you seriously need to RELAX okay…I don't know how I put up with you especially Reggie no wonder she always looked stressed over you," she sighed flipping her hair causing me to gawk at her about to argue but, she kept cutting me off "Besides I should get going… Lars and Maurice are waiting for me," she then muttered under her breath in Spanish then gave us a hug and raced over to the car until she stopped by slightly turned to me with this look on her face walking up to me "You should close your mouth you don't want any flies to come in do you… " which I immediately close my mouth but, was about to protest but, she cut me off "I didn't think so… byeeee boys," she explained giving a wave racing inside to Lars car with Twister as they drove off.
'What the hell—was that...' I sighed inside my thoughts 'Why would she kiss me…'
"Did she just—why would she say it's not a big deal of course it's a big deal a huge, huge deal and—" I grumbled under his breath stopped mid-sentence causing Sam and Keoni to slow nod at this and shrugged it off "Ah… jeez… this is going to bug the hell out of me," I grumbled under my breath and took a deep breath yelling after Twister "TWIST YOU CAN'T JUST BAIL ON US AGAIN!? SAM, KOENI LET'S GO!" I ordered them. Sam and Koeni yelped, who followed me with their skateboards.
"Otto wait for us," Sam and Keoni yelled after me not far behind.
"TWIST?! GET BACK HERE" I yelled after them skating ahead of Sam and Keoni "WHAT ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS WE HAVEN'T HAD ONE PRACTICE SINCE THE FINALS!? TWIST!" I cried out ignoring the fact that my lips are tingling I can smell the lip gloss that Clio had which was kiwi strawberry; hmm…
"Get it over it! They'll be back before tonight considering the championships aren't for another six months, so you got plenty of time relax Rocket dork!" Lars screamed back clearly irritated as he drove off with Twister and Clio.
"But, but, but, but, but, but—" I sputtered at this "You can't be serious!? How can I relax since this isn't the first time, he ditched us whenever we make plans for hockey practice"
"Oh, I'm dead serious," Lars growled where I could've sworn his eyes glowed that left me to freeze in my spot "You'll see him later Rocket dork," he exclaimed and drove off leaving me to gawk standing there in my spot like an idiot; what the hell just happened back there… I didn't even notice that Keoni or Sam been trying to call my name to gain my attention from the past 20 minutes since clearly, I was deep into my thoughts clearly irritated that Twist bailed on us hockey practice AGAIN!
"Otto…"

"Hey Otto…"
[no answer] …
"Otto?"
[no answer] …
"OTTO!?" Keoni and Sam exclaimed causing me to jump from their outburst.
"Huh what?" I asked turning to my friends I guess I was too deep into my thoughts to hear that Sam and Keoni been calling my name from the past twenty minutes to notice "What's up Squid?"
Sam sighed pinching his nose knowing Otto being his stubborn self "We've been calling for you from the past—" he looked at his watch "20 minutes or so. Do you still want to go Madtown for hockey practice or what?" he explained.
"Well we could if half of our team isn't always cancelling on us squid every time hockey practice comes up," I growled in irritation that left Sam and Keoni looked at each other with worried looks and made a mental kick on the ground sighing knowing Reggie would scold me for yelling at our friends again even when she's away in boarding school she still has a huge effect on me being the mama bear in our family "I'm sorry Sam… I'm just a bit irritated that Twist keeps cancelling on us whenever we try to make plans for hockey practice." I cried out in frustration kicking the floor in anger.
Sam gave a slowly nod "It's cool Otto I get it…I mean Twist has been cancelling on us a lot lately but, you heard Clio their grandma texted her to let them know that she arrived early than planned considering she's probably coming for the baby shower that's coming up in August but, at least she's going to help Mrs. Rodriguez with the baby shower just like Reggie will help Noelani and everything," he pointed out.
"Yeah… I know…" I kicked the floor knowing he's right but, I was too stubborn to listen to reason but, I'll put the drama aside for today "Come on guys let's get outta here we might as well… postpone hockey practice since we're missing two of our players in our team… and head off to the Shore Shack to eat or something?" I offered ignoring that feeling in my stomach that Clio just kissed me.
Sam and Koeni looked at each other with a shrug "Sure okay…" they both answered as we rode our bikes to the Shore Shack.
"Great…" I sarcastically replied; I couldn't believe my best bro ditch us to pick up his grandma at the airport. I mean this isn't the first time he bailed on us though at first it was just Lars and Clio by themselves but, ever since Twister turned 13, they would always bring him along with them no matter how many times he tried to explain or apologize although with my situation is a bit different than his… oh well whatever it was he owes us big time. It better be worth the drive to the airport that's for sure.
Lars's P.O.V.
(a/n: this was before Lars and the guys overheard Otto say, "Twist you can't just bail on us again the championships around the corner," he exclaimed. I yelled back "Get it over it dork! They'll be back soon!" and headed out to train-Lars saw that Clio kissed Otto on the cheek first then kissed him right on the mouth unfortunately Lars saw that-he had a feeling it was to shut Rocket dork unfortunately Twister didn't see this as he was too occupied now looking at his videos from yesterday)
"Finally! What the heck took so long!" I complained despite how I just saw my cousin Clio kiss Otto hard on the lips twice who looked stunned from this encounter apparently my little brother didn't noticed since he's too focus looking at his video camera after telling Otto that he couldn't make it to hockey practice whenever this happens Twister would make another excuse whenever they made plans; this time we had a good excuse sort of our grandma from my dad's side arrived two weeks early but, like I said it was just another excuse we don't really have to pick her up but, neither of them knew that since I had to train both Clio and Maurice for the outcome, teaching them some combat moves that my friends and I came up with.
"Sorry I had to grab something really quick," Clio quickly answered as she looked like she did a run marathon to get inside my hummer trunk, her face was completely flushed from her kiss with Otto.
However, I had a feeling my cousin Clio and Otto *imprint* on each other but, neither of them said anything so I wasn't completely sure. How do I know that Otto was a werewolf? Well, it didn't take a rocket science to figure it out but, I'm a bit surprised that my brother didn't even noticed not even Clio as she kept her emotions to herself.
"Uh huh… sure" I sarcastically says not believing her for one second "Let's just get this over with since I have to meet up with the guys later," he explained.
"Sure," Clio mumbled under her breath in Spanish as I drove ahead looking both ways from the stop signs and headed to our original spot.
"So, what was that about back there?" I asked.
"What was what?" Clio asked innocently. I gave her a glower 'I know what you did,' look where she gave a sigh "It was the only way to shut him up Lars," she argued back.
"Shut up who" Twister asked.
"No one Maurice," Clio smiled sweetly causing my brother to look up so confuse.
"Uh … okay sure whatever," Twister murmured under his breath.
"You know we're going to have that 'the serious talk' later since it's the last thing in my mind right now," I murmured under my breath.
"And yet you're talking about it Lars I told you it's not a big deal?" Clio argued back.
"What's not a big deal?" Twister asked between our conversation.
"Nothing Maurice," Clio and I answered causing Twister flushed.
"I told you guys it's Twister," Twister huffed at this since we're a few blocks away from home "And why is it whenever I make plans we have to go training or patrol the forest again," he complained.
"Shhh Maurice," Clio covered his mouth rather quickly as he widens his eyes while we looked around and stopped the edge of the street "Are you trying to blurt out for the whole neighborhood to hear us you know it's against the rules," she hissed at this.
"No...I just want to know what you guys are talking about," Twister murmured since Clio was covering his mouth.
"Don't worry about it Maurice… it's nothing …" Clio murmured.
"Are you sure," Twister muffled at this.
"Positive it's nothing baby cousin," Clio murmured.
"You can't just blurt out Twist it's dangerous …" I hissed at him causing Twister to mumble an apology while I looked around—we were in the clear whew as I sighed in relief "Oh good… no one heard you… you are so lucky we're far enough for anyone to hear us," he explained.
The Simpletons aren't exactly the nicest lot well that's not true Mrs. Simpleton was but, not her husband though he's very grumpy and doesn't like kids but, I learned from my parents when I was about 5 it was before Reggie and I stopped being friends that they have three sons who we used to have play dates with but, once we got older they moved away and kept our distance from them since then. I was told to keep away but, with the neighbor kids growing up, how could I? It would only be Reggie and I to have play dates with one another since our parents are close and everything.
"Sorry," Twister mumbled as Clio's hand was covering his mouth and let's go pausing for a moment "You know it's not my fault that I had to bail on Otto and the guys Clio he's going to end up complaining and ask me what's up… it's hard enough as it is that I'm hiding this secret from him since I was 13 it's been like this since Reggie left and he's my best bro since I have been missing practice these past few weeks we haven't got a chance to practice since I became a wolf and been extra busy since we just won the finals and all that. He's already suspicious as it is," he complained.
"Yeah well … I'm sure he'll get over it Maurice he usually does," Clio argued back flipping her hair over her shoulder.
"You don't know that Clio… he's going to hold this against me and it's starting to get bad as it is," Twister protested continuing to complain about this.
"And how exactly would he get over it Clio…" I stiffly replied.
It's one of the places where I usually train with Clio and Maurice to learn some combat moves but, we moved to another location over the woods where I could've sworn, she smirked at me.
"I have my ways Lars… I have my ways," Clio murmured.
"I don't know if I want to know," I murmured under my breath in Spanish.
I rolled my eyes knowing this as I saw her kiss Otto on the lips it was a matter of time before they got together… which I'm a bit conflicted over this but, at the same time it's someone I know and trust completely… so I'm going to have to get use to that so does Maurice but, he's a bit slow so I decided to keep it to myself for now. Once we reached to the forest where the steep mountains were that's when we grabbed our things to find a decent spot to train.
"Okay guys we're going to try different combat moves mixing it up from what we learned yesterday," I replied where we grabbed our sticks to train a few times until it was time to head home which was hours away from nowhere Clio flipped Twister to the ground once more.
"Great I told Otto and the guys that we're meeting them at the Shack by 8:00 Lars you think we can stop from there and pick it up tomorrow?" Clio explained.
I shrugged my shoulders "That's perfectly fine I'm going to meet up with the guys by then anyway," I pointed out.
"Cool," Twister answered "Maybe by then I'll figure out what to tell—"who was cut off by Clio who flipped him off to the ground which left me to wince
Clio sighs "Rule number #1 never get distracted. You must pay attention Maurice we're still training," she pointed out. Twister mumbled under his breath in Spanish "I heard that," she flatly replied.
"I didn't say anything," Twister protested.
Clio gave him 'Are you serious considering we're from the same blood family and I can understand you when you speak Spanish' look and use her double twist that left Twister to fall in the ground again "Rule number #2 don't piss me off Maurice," she sweetly says that left my brother to shiver.
"Sorry Clio," Twister mumbled.
Clio shrugged "You're lucky you're my cousin Maurice," she pointed out.
Sam's P.O.V.
In the other side of Ocean Shores Otto, Sam and Koeni were supposed to head to Madtown for hockey practice only to be canceled again so they ended up going to the Shore Shack to kill time. After Twister and Clio both left with Lars to pick up their grandma at the airport a few hours ago. Clio and Sam been texting nonstop since they left.
"Hey Clio, what was that kiss with Otto about?" I asked.
"Nothing…."
"Clio…."
Clio sighed "It was the only way to shut him up… from complaining the whole day, don't think so much about the kiss Sammy it's nothing …"
"Clio … you know you can tell me, right? I'm not going to tell them or judge,"
"I know I can trust you Sammy… but I'm still confused …I thought my feelings for him went away,"
"You mean you used to have feelings for Otto before?!"
"Maybe…I only told Reggie, and she told me to really think about it if my feelings for Otto are sincere real or not?"
"And she didn't freak out?"
"Oh, she did but, she put that aside noticing my expression was serious and sighed telling me that I should really rethink the whole thing and do a pro/con list over Otto telling me that whatever my decision either or not to tell Otto about my feelings for him she'll be supportive my relationship either I'm with him or not,"
"And….?"
"Well…. I never really confirmed if it was real because that's when Otto told us that he's dating Trish remember,"
"Oh…. right… that must've stung huh…"
"It wasn't a big deal…"
"It broke your heart, didn't it?"
"A little but, I got over it at least I thought I did… now I'm just confuse,"
"Well… if you need someone to talk too you can always talk to me. I'm always got your back Clio,"
"Thanks Sammy and when I figure out these feelings you and Reggie will be the first two people I'll tell promise,"
"Good, wait you're not going to tell Twister or Lars?"
"Are you kidding!? They would've freak out especially Lars he's been oddly protective with me being like an older brother to me despite he's my cousin,"
"Right, of course he is,"
"Yeah, despite how he used to bully you guys he changed over the years too and I think Reggie noticed how much he changed Sammy?"
"Oh, really and how would Reggie know Lars changed?"
"I may've given her some videos… of Lars…and let's just say she was blushing quite red whenever Lars takes off his shirt off, "
I gave a chuckled where Otto stared at me oddly "What's so funny squid?" he asked not paying attention since I was about to text Clio but, I was too busy laughing over the text that Clio gave me. I always had a feeling that Lars has feelings for Reggie since we were kids but, now it just confirmed my suspicions.

"Sam?"
[no answer] …
"Sam….?"
[no answer] …
"SAM!?" Otto exclaimed causing me to yelp "Didn't you hear what I just said," he harshly starts to say causing me to shake my head causing him to sigh in frustration "I was just telling you both that I can't believe they both ditched us again I mean what the hell man… so what their grandma is in town… what's better picking up their grandmother or go to Mad Town," he complained.
Keoni and I both looked at each other a few feet away from him where Keoni quickly added "I rather pick my grandma since I'm very close with her Otto," he argued back.
"Yeah but, that's different though," Otto argued back.
"How? You even heard Twist he didn't know his grandma was coming until Clio mentioned it it's not his fault that plans changed Otto, he'll make it up to us later he always does. Lars even said that uhhh he was going to come back by 5 in the latest," I pointed out.
"He did?" Otto asked.
"Yes, yes he did," I lied, which was a lie Lars never said that but, I wasn't going to sit here hearing Otto complain again.
"I don't remember him saying that squid," Otto suspiciously says,
"He was saying it in Spanish," Keoni quickly added.
Otto raised his eyebrow at Keoni "And since when do you understand Spanish Keoni?" he asked.
"Oh uhh I took Spanish classes back in Hawaii and been taking it here. I barley understood a lot of Spanish but, I know some," Keoni lied.
"Well... it doesn't change the fact that he and Clio keep ditching us for Lars and—" Otto began to say and growled in frustration "Ugh you know what forget it," he scowls and pouts the whole time we entered the Shore Shack.
"Besides I just got a text from Clio she said she'll meet us at Shore Shack for hockey practice it shouldn't take long," I argued back.
"Whatever," Otto grumbled.
"Hey Otto, Sam, Keoni," Tito asked.
"Hey uncle Tito," Keoni replied.
"Hey Tito," Otto and I greeted him.
"What's the long faces cuz?" Tito asked noticing our face expression.
"We were supposed to go practice for hockey but, apparently Twister decided to ditch us again when out of nowhere Lars starts dragging him claiming that their grandma arrived 2 weeks early and is at the airport and brought Clio with them," Otto complained.
"Actually, Otto Clio was the one who said that their grandma arrived, and Lars was dragged into it since he's the only one that can drive at the moment since Twist and Clio are saving up for a car and uhh it wasn't their fault that their grandma decided to come to the baby shower early ya know," I pointed out.
"Yeah but, we have hockey practice squid we haven't been practicing ever since Twist turned 15 it's been like this since last summer and you know it," Otto pointed out.
Mr. Rocket a.k.a. Ray, being Reggie and Otto's dad arrived with boxes of Tofu which was weird; I don't recall seeing those before.
"Hey Mr. Rocket," I greeted him.
"Oh, hello Sam, hello Keoni and Otto what are you guys doing here don't you usually have hockey practice," Mr. Rocket asked.
"Oh no," Keoni grumbled under his breath.
"What?"
"Nooooo Mr. Rocket …Otto is going to—"
"Dad, don't you think it's unfair that two of my friends are supposed to go hockey practice," Otto quickly added.
Mr. Rocket blinked his eyes owlish "Well it depends? Wait a minute are you all supposed to be practice for hockey," he asked all confuse.
"EXACTLY!See dad I knew you understand. See Squid even dad agrees with me," Otto exclaimed.
"Now hold on….what am I agreeing too Otto?" Mr. Rocket explained.
"I was just telling Squid and Keoni that Twister and Clio are being unfair," Otto complained.
"Unfair about what?"
"They DITCHED US DAD. FOR THEIR GRANDMA," Otto growled.
"Otto I just explained this to you. It's not Twister's or Clio's fault that their grandma decided to arrive early than planned and considering Lars is the only one with the car since Clio and Twister are saving up for their car you're not being fair to them," I explained with a bossy tone.
"That's not fair Squid I told Twister multiply of times that we had hockey practice every Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday. Four days out of 7 days out of the week since we all have school and work. Twist works at the Film and Production at school with Clio while you're in the science department while Keoni and I are in charge at the sports department being sophomores while you and Clio are juniors. If Reggie was here she would've agreed with me," Otto complained.
"Well…if Twister and Clio's grandmother—wait which side the father or mother's side?" Mr. Rocket explained.
"It's from Mr. Rodriguez side Mr. Rocket. Twister's dad,"
Mr. Rocket paled "Huh? Madame Rodriguez is coming here!?" he squeaked causing Otto, Keoni and I to stare at him weirdly especially Otto which he cleared his throat "Of course she is…usually she would come at the exact date…now why would she come early…unless something happened…Tito I'll be at the office keep an eye on the restaurant," he announced.
"You got it Raymundo," Tito explained with a nod.
That was until Mr. Rocket came back peeking thru the door "Otto? You shouldn't be so hard on Twister it's not his fault that his grandma arrived early it could be for the baby shower," he explained.
"And how do you know that" Otto asked all confuse.
"Well that would be because Sandy and I are hosting the baby shower together with Reggie's help of course since we couldn't pick a day for everyone to come so Reggie came up with a good idea to combined our baby showers together and host it at her restaurant," Noelani answered (a/n: known as the new Mrs. Rocket in their family—Raymundo's 2nd wife/Danni's childhood best friend/step mother to Reggie and Otto/soon to be mother of Quints)
"She did?" Otto looked so confused causing Noelani nodded at this "When did Reggie bought a restaurant?" he asked.
Noelani blinked her eyes owlish "Oh didn't you know?" she asked.
"Know what?"
"Reggie owns her business and offered to use her work spot to host the baby shower," Noelani explained.
"She did?" Otto had a blank look on his face along with Keoni and myself "I didn't know she has her own business," he explained.
"Well you never asked her Otto," Tito asked with a shrug.
Otto blinked his eyes owlish "Huh…." He mumbled under his breath then realize he was told about the baby shower "Oh right…the baby shower I seem to forget a lot of things lately…" where he made a long-tired sigh "When's the baby shower and where is going to be at?"
Noelani gave a sweet smile "October 20th and it's going to be in Jupiter Luna Moon; that's where Reggie business is; it completely has everything," she explained.
"What does it have?"
"Oh you know a dance floor with a bar, and on the side would be a restaurant of your favorite food of every country where there's a set up for a DJ, then there's a game room where you can play video games pretty much everything and then there's a photo studio to take pictures in a photobooth or you can take pictures old school style then there's a machine where you can create your own clothes, any designs really and they also set up events for weddings, baby showers, sweet 15, retirement parties or whenever you have a birthday bash or girls night, bachelor or bachelorette parties etc. Reggie has everything. I'm surprised she extended her business in Ocean Shores where there's already 5 works business spots for our business it's really popping," she explained.
"And how far along are you with the Quints again?" Otto asked.
Noelani stared at her stepson in horror where Tito quickly added "Otto you never ask a lady about how far along she is when she's pregnant they're very sensitive with that and she's about 5 ½ months just like Sandy, Twister and Lars mother is as well they're both 5 ½ months with Quints. We're going to do the baby gender reveal so I'm the only one with Sam's mom that knows the 2 sets of Quints baby gender.
"Oops sorry Noelani," Otto gave a half smile causing Noelani gives her stepson a hug "I keep forgetting," he murmured.
"It's alright Otto I know it's a lot of changes between your dad and I …I mean I wasn't expecting to have a baby and neither did your father. We were happy with what we have but, deep down I realize I do want a baby and your father felt the same way with …your mother who happens to be my best friend I hope you're not upset about that," Noelani explained.
"Huh what no. I'm not mad Noelani I was just…surprised…it's a lot of changes especially since Reggie didn't know until after she left…I think we're just not used to these types of changes ya know…Reg and I are happy for our dad Noelani we're glad he can be happy with someone who loves him like our mom would," Otto explained.
Nobody's P.O.V.
Noelani teared up "Damn these hormones come here," she reached for her stepson Otto who hugged him to death causing him to turn blue "Oh Otto thank you so much…I do love your father very much and I do love Danni, your mom and I'm sure she would've want us to be happy too," she explained.
"Noelani I can't breathe," Otto mumbled.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Otto did I hurt you," Noelani worriedly over her step son.
"No, no, no, you're good," Otto began to say ignoring that weird feeling clearing his throat "So uh when are the Quints due again?"
"In mid-February so I would say …February 20th…at least I hope so," Noelani explained.
"Why that date pacifically?" Otto asked eating his fries.
Noelani held her breath "Otto …that was your mother's birthday?" she whispered.
Otto looked up at his stepmom and grew quiet "Oh…dad never mentioned that" he quickly added.
Noelani raised her eyebrow at her husband who was talking on the phone "Ray?" she called over.
Ray, a.k.a. Mr. Rocket peeked thru the door "Huh…oh hey honey when did you get here?"
"A while ago where have you been?"
"Office?"
"For what?"
"Oh, not much…just talking to Reg,"
"Really you're talking to Reg dad?"
"I was but, now I'm in the middle of talking to uhhh an old friend of mine…we'll talk later hunn," Mr. Rocket quickly added kissing Noelani on the forehead causing her to blink her eyes owlishly "Hey Tito,
"Yesss?"
"Don't forget to put that tofu in the freezer it's for the party," Mr. Rocket quickly added.
Tito furrowed his eyebrows "Since when do we sell Tofu?"
[no answer]…
"Oh don't you remember Tito it's for Reggie she's a vegan now, she doesn't eat meat anymore," Noelani explained.
Tito looked dumbstruck "Reggie doesn't eat meat since when," he cried out in shell shock.
"Since she started going to London," Noelani explained.
"What about Mrs. Rodriguez Noelani?" Keoni asked.
"Oh she's due in February if my calculations are correct hers would be due a week early before mine but, we can never know…who knows maybe the Quints would be born at the same day would that be a mouthful," Noelani explained eating her fries.
"I can't believe everyone that we know expecting a baby how weird is that?" Otto explained.
