The Pink Lantern Corp was established and the central battery was inside the main headquarters, the recruits were complete females, and as such, they had doubts about the efficiency of the abilities of their instructors, after all both Peter and Harry were men and they mistakenly believed that men could never understand love as well as they could.
One of the women asked Peter a question, what is love? His answer came from a religious book from his world, and the answer shocked them. Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, is not pompous, is not inflated, is not rude, does not seek its interests, is not quick-tempered, does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. These were the words the Apostle Paul wrote in one of his letters.
They had no idea that their instructor understood love to such a degree that even they thought some of the things he said were impossible. Harry, on the other hand, was more practical to love one must have the power and skill to protect those they love, if they lack that, their love will be short-lived.
This made the recruits from the Star Sapphires realize that they had no idea about the wisdom they held, they may look young, but they couldn't believe these two were supposed to be over a thousand years old.
Peter used his knowledge of the bible from when he was alive in the human world since his Aunt May was if anything a god-fearing Christian. She had taught him many lessons from the good book, and the definition of love was simply one that she taught him when he first asked what love was when he found his first crush.
This however felt like several lifetimes ago, and the fact is that the bible would not been written on Earth for thousands of years. That didn't mean he could use the words that would one day be written on it to answer such an eager question by one of the recruits.
The training was something they couldn't get any of the green lanterns, blue lanterns, and even red lanterns to tell them anything about, they tried everything from charm to outright flirting to try and get the answer to their question, but they simply refused to tell them anything other than these two rules which they said almost in absolute fear.
They placed the star sapphire recruits through the same training the other Lantern Corp recruits went through, and sure enough, some of the people would eventually become an instructor to teach even more members, but they would always follow the example of the first two instructors for no other reason than the results.
The star sapphire recruits were very beautiful members of different races, but after the first month, they realized that no amount of charm, attempt to seduce, or even influence the emotions of the much-feared drill instructors would work. They realized that these men also said they had been married for thousands of years.
The strength of their commitment to their wives made several of the recruits wish that one day they would be as lucky as the woman their drill instructors had for wives. Using the web of life and the connection to many different timelines, they formed drills and training to teach the basics but also strengthen the qualities the Star Sapphire Clan was best at.
If it was stealth or infiltration, to go as far as even assassinations, they had the potential to be highly skilled kunoichi, and as such their training was harsh, relentless and some might even say cruel, but after three months these recruits could not argue that they were ready for anything the universe wanted to throw at them.
They were very beautiful examples of their species, however thanks to the training and lessons, they could charm a man with a few sweet well-chosen words and that man would tell that star sapphire any secret she desired. Harry knew that using these skills and the other abilities they learned would lead to the capture of many criminal groups in the universe, why? because they are idiots who think females are weak and defenseless.
That idea was long forgotten by both Peter and Harry since they knew far too well that their wives may be loving and caring, but one thing they never want to do, is getting them mad, they managed to do that once, and the pain they suffered was enough to make them remember it centuries later.
The star sapphires may look like beautiful ladies having fun on their trips, but in reality, they were as professional as any of the other Lantern Corps, the fact that they were in some worlds looked down upon as being the weak gender, made them work harder and become stronger.
One man in one of the outpost colonies in space tried to get fresh with one of them by trying to cop a feel, but he was swiftly and soundly beaten, to which her only reply while smiling was that she may be as pretty as a flower, but pretty flowers do have their thorns.
The next was probably the one that most would consider a lost cause, the entity that was greed, this Lantern Corp only had one member and only one. His oath was less of an oath and more of a declaration of his greed. Having entered the area where the greed entity was he looked like a massive dragon, well he is related to snakes so it was not that much of a surprise.
Harry looked at him and smiled, "Look even I know greed can be a good thing, but there is a severe problem with your definition of greed. It is such a major problem that you are reducing yourself to such a degree it is almost painful. I should know I was the owner of a major company that spanned an entire world, to see this level of limitation is practically painful to me."
Ophidian went from looking amused to downright insulted as he looked at Harry, and asked what the hell does he mean his definition of greed was wrong? Harry told him it was too limited, his desires too specific, his hunger too selective, his vision short-sighted, his reach diminished.
The definition of greed he knows is making him so short-sighted it made him practically blind, his desires and hunger weaken him to the point of atrophy, and his lack of vision made him quite foolish. The main problem was never that he was greedy, the problem is that he was too stingy with his greed.
The thing I see is that you only focus on the things that provide you emotional or physical pleasure, that sort of thinking is so limiting, so small, it's like a frog sitting in the bottom of a well thought he was the owner of the entire world because he couldn't see beyond the well.
"You are greed, but why do you limit yourself to only physical, and emotional needs? what about the higher desires, admiration, fame, glory, knowledge, power, perfection of oneself, and all these are minor things, there are things beyond them that few manage to reach, and those that do are ones of unlimited desires, unlimited greed, not wanting something specific but desiring to know everything."
"You are too limited, you could be an immense force for good, where saving others becomes things you can claim as things that make you proud, your achievements, your successes, their praises become your rewards, and the more you do the more of them you would receive."
"Having more than one member means that whenever they succeed it reflects you as being a great leader, a wise mentor, a trusty person they can always count on, they will need you, they will want to learn from you, and this means the more this happens the more valuable you will be to them. You right now stand as an unpolished crystal, wouldn't you rather be the most precious jewel that the universe has ever seen?"
Ophidian was shocked at what Harry told him and asked him what he desires. "To know everything, to be able to do anything, to understand all reality, to hold my most important treasures, and to show the entire universe that regardless of their opinion of me, I know my worth!"
No one will look down on Harry, no one will be able to, and even if he somehow eventually reaches the summit and achieves godhood, he will simply desire other things, more things to learn, more ways to grow, more to experience, and more to live.
The very entity that was greed was speechless as he heard this person say such things, he was so greedy that Ophidian felt like his greed was so small he understood why he said he was stingy with his greed.
This was the time that he realized that he wanted to learn everything he could from him and the man named Peter, and so the three months of training began as the training went on he saw his flaws and even cursed when he realized his mistake, but Harry told him only through making mistakes does a person truly learn.
The power that is easily obtained is hard to keep, but the power that is hard to obtain is easily kept, the path is long and traitorous many obstacles in the way but for those that are true, at the end of the path glory await.
After three long months of training and lessons, Ophidian was ready to have more orange lantern rings made, he was done with only having one lantern member, he wanted more, he wanted to achieve more, to do more, to spread his influence across the universe till the entire universe saw him as someone they would never want to be without.
Thanks to this mentality training the orange lantern recruits proved to be the easiest group to train so far, they didn't make excuses they were given instructions and they follow them without question or complaint for they wanted to be the strongest Lantern Corp that ever was, and knowledge is power.
After three months the orange lanterns didn't even wait for a crisis to be declared, they spent their time searching the universe looking for things to learn or people to help. They were extremely proactive, and their constant searching made them perfect scouts across all known sectors of space.
The one that would give Harry the single most trouble was none other than the Indigo Lantern Corp, they managed to get a guardian to start the process of making the Indigo Lanterns and thanks to some nomad from the planet Nok they managed to get the core believes of this Lantern Corp established quicker than the other ones.
The thing is that the Indigo Lantern Corp Central Battery had a certain shall we say oceanic feel to it, the entity that would power it is none other than the entity of compassion and he was a giant energy purple squid. Aside from this, he was probably one of the easiest to talk to, even the will entity was harder to get to see their ideas.
So in short the central battery was constructed rather quickly since many people volunteered to provide extra help in the construction of it. Something about building what essentially be the home of Proselyte, the entity of compassion, made people want to help in this project more so than when the other Lantern Corps was established.
As for training, they needed nothing that require many lessons, the fact is that in a week they learned all the idea of teaching the members of their Corp the virtues of their Corp being a daily thing till the members came to value them and to think of the best possible outcome of a situation.
These people only needed to learn basic power ring techniques and energy management, and that was it. In a matter of two weeks, they were doing constructs and using their imagination with their rings like they were professionals, what usually took Peter and Harry three months to get them ready in training and lessons, it only took the Indigo Lanterns Recruits a single month.
When the guardians asked Peter why was the training of the Indigo Lantern Corp so short he was simply honest and told them that the recruits didn't need it, instead they would learn the virtues and the value of their corp from their fellow members every single day. Reinforcing the ideals of their corp and making reforming the problematic members a lot easier.
Peter decided to ask the question they had been avoiding since their mission was now over and they would soon leave. "In our preparation to train the new Lantern Corps, we meditated and found ourselves meeting with entities that you still have not met or will meet for many years to come."
"One was the entity of Death and the other was the entity of Life, we met one that was the one for Joy and they each took such a liking to us that they gave us access to their powers, much like if we had been members of a lantern corp they empower, but then we met all the ones that we trained and whose Lantern Corps came to Oa, and little by little these power rings that had been only there to test out the yellow lantern powers, began to change."
"These rings give us access to powers from all ten entities of the emotional electromagnetic spectrum. They are so powerful that we could not in all good faith ask to have more rings made because we don't think anyone else would be able to handle the burden and responsibility of having such power. We thought that if we had recruits they would somehow become corrupt, and that is the last thing we wanted."
"So Harry and I are the only two members of this Lantern Corp, but since we had access to the powers of all these entities it was fairly easy for us to focus only on the yellow lanterns powers, and the illusion was maintained until you kept asking us to add new members to our Lantern Corp without even imagining that the reason we avoided that issue was a matter of universal safety."
One of the watchers looked at them and began to frown, and told them they could have told them and maybe they could have worked something out, to which Harry's only remark was that absolute power corrupts absolutely. They simply could not take the risk of this nightmare scenario coming to pass, so they decided to keep this secret from everyone, but since they are leaving today, they decided to tell them the answer to the question they had been asking so much.
They do not need a power battery, since they could recharge their rings through their connection with the web of life, so no central battery was ever needed. "As we said when we arrived here we want to help you and earn your friendship, we hope that you do consider us friends as we already consider you ours."
11,000 years later 11,000 BC
By the time two friends made it back to earth they were shocked to find that they had been gone from Earth for eleven thousand years. Harry said that was impossible, it sure didn't feel that they had spent that much time in Oa. Sure they were busy but to spend this much time and not notice?
They finally made it back to their home and that is when they found that their wives were busy working through the mountain of paperwork on their desks the mountain of paperwork was so high they didn't even notice them walk into the office.
They saw several pictures on a wall, and apparently, the school that Peter had made had grown to be a multinational university, one that extended to all the allied nations, the forge Harry had once started had grown to be a major metal goods production corporation that again provided with metal tools everything from defense to home life to every nation that had become the allies of the Savage Kingdom.
It was due to the university and the forge that many nations who once thought about invading and eliminating the nation under the pretense of eradicating the Spider Faith, were stopped by millions of citizens that flat out said if they did that, they would leave their country and immigrate to the Savage Kingdom immediately.
They learned this thanks to several newspapers that had been hung around the office in picture frames. Technology had advanced so much that they had crystal clear glass to make picture frames and other crystal items. That is when it hit home they have been gone for that long, they were secretly scared about how angry their wives and symbiotes would be if they were to suddenly say that they were home.
The rings that they wore had a unique properly, they were invisible but what made them unique is that only the assigned owner could ever hope in remove them, and even if they were removed given enough time they would automatically come back to the person and equip.
Not even cutting off a limb would work as the ring will hover over the place where the finger was and make the finger regrow, or so they speculated, not willing to test this out. Harry said that on their way to Earth that the idea of regrowing an entire finger or even worse a limb, he had the notion that the process would be painful.
They couldn't put it off any longer when they suddenly said, "I know we been gone for a long time but is this any way to welcome your husbands back home?" Peter said in quite a joking tone, Harry couldn't help but feel that this will cause them to overreact and this will result in some injuries.
As soon as the two women heard this they ran around their desks to find their husbands there, they immediately rushed towards them and kissed them passionately the symbiotes took this opportunity to slide off their wives and back unto Peter and Harry.
The minute they did they began to receive the memories of everything that had happened in the eleven thousand years they had been away, the only problem is that they were doing that in a single memory sharing session which made Harry just try and put up with it since he knew this would be painful memory overload, it was never a pleasant thing to experience.
Peter's wife looked at him and smiled, "I guess she shared everything that has happened no need to talk about it, I gather you completed the mission the goddess sent you on. Now come on Peter, help us finish all these reports, since you have the memories you two should be able to do that."
Harry said that they had hoped for a home-cooked meal, they had just flown across an entire galaxy and they were both a bit hungry. Harry's wife told him the paperwork first and the meal later, or they will be too busy to cook anything so choose, to do the paperwork or stay hungry.
They both looked at their wives and had no other alternative but to begin grabbing papers, finishing them, and filing them. They did however have one thing that helped them immensely they used one of the powers of the Lantern Corps and made light construct copies of themselves.
In a matter of seconds, the room had dozens of copies of Peter and Harry which were made from some strange orange light, and they worked on the paperwork at an almost impossible pace. The entire mountain of paperwork was finished in less than an hour.
Their wives wondered where they were and what they had been doing for eleven thousand years, but seeing this made them realize that they would have some extremely interesting stories to tell them during dinner that night.
Well, the training was not that weird to them, it was fairly standard military training the thing they found strange was that Peter without even trying had females of different species hit on him, and one of them according to what they heard was an actual, not even flesh and blood.
Peter's wife was more upset that had she been asked to evaluate and given the chance to see if these females were worthy, they might have joined them in marriage, she was a very practical woman, and more women would mean more hands to help with the work.
Harry's wife was also upset about this but for a much different reason, no she was not upset if any of these females showed any interest in her husband, to her it would simply be proof of her husband's masculinity, and appeal, no, what she was upset about is that he was far too merciful towards his enemies.
She was the sort of woman that if someone dared to try and kill her, the fool would not survive to the next day. She took combat seriously and when fighting against those that responded with deadly intent, she was more than willing to treat them in kind.
The fact remains that at the time they fought against a man who was so deranged with rage that he wished for the destruction of the entire universe and they didn't even kill him. She heard that this person was imprisoned in a very secure dungeon, but to her that only means that as long as someone that dangerous was left alive the risk of him escaping was always present.
Time passed quickly for them.
So their wives did tell them that they discovered a new island continent called Atlantis 3000 years ago and that his place was so advanced that it practically is the only reason why people can sail through the seas without any fear of any other danger other than an attack from another ship or hitting a major reef or block of ice.
Harry did tell them that they did know about Atlantis, it was supposed to also be a place of highly educated people, but the thing is, they had this feeling, this sense of danger that was coming from that island like something terrible was going to happen there.
That is when Harry's wife told her husband not to worry, Vandal had gone to the island on a diplomatic mission to try and form alliances much like they did with the Kingdom of Wakanda. As they began to remember the sinking of Atlantis and what they heard, they had a bad feeling about this.
It appears Vandal forgot their advice on never messing with the Olympians, and never getting involved in the fighting between the lords of order and chaos. According to Harry nothing good ever came up with getting involved with either of these possible situations.
As they finished their dinner they told their wives that they might as well go and greet Vandal and maybe help him a little, since they do have a little more experience when it comes to that type of mission. Both wives relaxed and they immediately took off once they were outside their home.
They knew that preventing the sinking of Atlantis was impossible, it was a fixed time event, nothing they do will change anything, and if they tried the tragedy would be even worse, however, they knew that they could at least try and save as many people as possible.
There was a familiar almost sickening feeling in the air as they landed on what appeared to be a major city of Atlantis, they immediately recognized the massive frame of a person who reminded them very much of their brother-in-law Vandal and so they went to greet this young man.
They asked him where Vandal was. The young man looked worried for a second since these strangers were asking where his father was. "Why should I tell you, strangers, anything I don't even know who you are." That is when Peter began to laugh and told him that he was Peter and the guy next to him was Harry they were long-time friends of his father, so much so that they even married Vandal's sisters.
That is when the man began to laugh and realized who they were, he immediately put his arms around both of them and gave them a massive hug, saying that he was the son of Vandal Savage and that he was happy to finally meet the uncles that he had heard so much about.
Harry told him that they came to the island because they had a strange feeling that something bad was going to happen, so they need to find Vandal as quickly as possible, that is when Nabu told them that in truth his father had left the provided logging in the middle of the night and not even he knew where his father was.
This had all the signs of what they knew was the beginning of the attack on Atlantis by the Lord of Chaos known as the Witch boy. Peter told Nabu to go around the city and gather as many common people as they could and bring them to their current location, but he had to hurry time was of the essence.
Nabu hearing the tone of his voice knew that this was no joke and that he was serious so he did as Peter asked, and Harry began to use his ring to start making portals to safe locations, as soon as the people got to where they were, Harry began to tell them to head into the portals to be sure to go in family groups.
As this happened the thing that they dread happened the Witch boy began to attack the island in mass, and as soon as he saw the portals he shut them off immediately saying that no one would steal his prey from him. Peter, Harry, and Nabu fought him and kept trying to use portals to lead families to safety which upset the Witch boy something awful.
The war with the wicked boy took 2,000 years because of Peter and Harry's Aid.
2,000 years later 9,000 BC
As the island was about to sink the lords of Order decided to get involved by stealing both the helmet and the soul of Nabu, as Nabu's injured body was believed to be beyond saving. Peter took the body of their nephew away from the battle as the witch boy who was one of the lords of Chaos simply said he did what he wanted, leaving with a very smug look on his face.
There was only one thing that they could do, use an experimental elixir to turn the body of their Nephew immortal like they and his father were, but it would take time for them to be able to retrieve the soul since they had no idea where the helmet was since they knew the lords of Order more than likely fused his soul with the helmet.
They used what little time they had left to build a tomb and placed him in a state where he was frozen in time, no matter if the tomb was under water this would keep the body of their nephew safe, so one day they can finally restore him when they had the helmet, in fact only the person who had the helmet could even open the tomb.
