After everything that happened and seeing Nabu their nephew end up like that, it would make anyone question the very meaning of their lives, this did not happen to some stranger, it was a member of their family, a person they got to know for two thousand years as they fought against the maniacal witch boy.
Suddenly they felt like they needed some time away from this universe that they had been trying to improve and away from the place that brought them nothing but pain and regret.
That is when Peter remembered that in some other lives long before they found themselves in their current ones they had something that would just work, he told him of his idea, and immediately Harry remembered they were gamers. No matter the universe or dimension they always had the gamer powers to help them do what was needed.
Except in this one, because somehow they couldn't even use their gamer powers at all, this didn't make any sense they have been to universes and lived lives that had been worse than their current one, and even then they had the gamer powers.
They needed an explanation of why this was happening, their most reliable power was somehow missing, and the only person who could explain this at all was the goddess, so in much sadness and regret they returned to their wives, only to find that they were both worried and angry at them.
Worried that they had no idea where they went, and angry because they had been missing for so long. They just left without giving them an explanation at all. "Sorry, we had a feeling that something horrible would happen on the continent of Atlantis, and it did, one of the Lords of Chaos attacked, and it took the combined effort of us and our nephew Nabu to save as many people as we could."
"We fought that evil bastard for two thousand years, but in the end, something horrible happened to Nabu, One of the Lords of Order saw that Nabu was badly injured, they probably thought that he would die no matter what, so they took his soul and his helmet."
"We managed to save his body, give it an elixir we came up with using the power of that old meteor, and healed his body, but without a soul, he can't be alive, so we locked him up in a tomb, where we froze him in time if we want him to return to us again, we need to find his helmet."
Peter's wife asked why would they need his helmet as soon as she heard her husband end his explanation of what had happened. Harry told her that it is because they suspect that the Lords of Order merged the soul of Nabu and his helmet to act as an anchor to the mortal plane of existence.
"The Lords of Order and Chaos have fought against each other since the very beginning of this universe, they do have limitations, neither can live in this realm of reality without someone or something acting as an Anchor, to keep them here, without an Anchor they would just return where they usually are."
Harry's wife looked at him and simply said a body can't live without a soul, and a soul can't interact with the world without a body. "So that is why Vandal has locked himself up in his home and refuses to talk to anyone. He must be furious and feel terrible that this happened to his son on a diplomatic mission that he was leading."
Peter could be seen trying to sit down on a nearby chair and looked tired for some odd reason, his symbiote attempting to offer as much comfort and emotional support as she could, he finally said that they got to know Nabu while they fought against the maniac that goes by Witch boy.
They both realized that they were hurt that badly over seeing Nabu end up like that, They told them what they went through along Nabu and that he was a good kid, a good young man, but they did promise them that one day they will find the helmet and finally restore their nephew to a normal life.
Peter's wife asked him what do they plan to do, Peter told them they need to go to the Spider Totem in the church to talk with their goddess, there is an old power that seemed to be missing and the goddess was the only one that can tell them why this was happening and if this power could once again be restored.
Well, the people didn't know them that well after so many thousands of years away, for some strange reason their statues were removed from the fountain that was made to celebrate the one hundred years since the Kingdom was first established, Peter simply said that maybe they removed them to do maintenance on them.
So they went to the temple and asked to be able to pray to the Spider Totem, there was a small fee for a private citizen to do that, but in the end, seeing who they were with they decided to waive the small fee and let both Harry and Peter do what they needed to do.
The goddess knew exactly what they were feeling, she may be a goddess but she understands the pain of loss. She was trying her best to offer them words of kindness and hope when Peter simply asked why they didn't have access to the gamer powers. This was a surprise to her and she immediately went and looked at every moment and finally found the reason.
"It seems that the web of life first thought that the gamer powers were something that was harming you since that power can affect your mind and body, so the web of life trying to keep both of you safe turned that power off. I don't imagine the gamer system is too happy about all those ignored messages, but the least I can do is to restore those powers to you since I explained to the web of life what is the nature of the gamer powers."
"The real question my champions is what do you plan to use them for, I ask since you look worse than I have ever seen you before. I know what happened on Atlantis was tragic but we all know there was nothing that could have prevented that, something else is making you feel so down, that I can practically see it."
Peter looked at the goddess and told her that what happened on Atlantis was merely the start of it, without the gamer's mind they were dealing with extremely negative feelings, and finding that the nation they called home no longer even recognized them, that aside from family members the citizens either forgot them or call them a mistaken myth.
They both needed to get reacquainted with their gamer powers, and they needed a place to think of something else other than what was going to happen in their universe, to borrow a phrase from an old movie, Peter said that both he and Harry needed to go walkabout.
This made her laugh as she realized where he heard that from. She of course was happy to resolve this powers issue with her champions. She however did tell them that they still had hope, they could one day find the helm and restore the life of their nephew.
They finally made it back to their wives and told them they needed some time to relax and try to work through all their negative emotions. The effect of what happened had taken a toll on their husbands' minds and they had to give them some time to try and come to terms with the tragedy that just happened.
They decided to go to a place where they could have fun, relax, and even laugh a little bit. They decided to open a dungeon and they decided it would be one based on the Naruto anime series. Why pick this one? Because the entire premise of the anime was funny at least for Harry.
The story of the overpowered character who was supposed to be the underdog and his supposed trials into becoming an efficient warrior even though he was more blessed as a warrior than the entire village combined, they even went to call him a person without a family, when he was cousins with at least three of their most prominent and influential families.
To Harry this had to be a comedy, this was as bad as the story of a billionaire who struggles with how to spend money. For Peter let's face it the dungeon would have real-life models of every single female character in existence, and for him being able to interact and flirt with the beautiful women in that series was a dream come true.
They were however two options, one was to become characters of their choosing, and the other was to create their characters, knowing Peter he was going to pick the first option since he wanted to be Naruto if only to be able to flirt and eventually sleep with a young woman that went under the name of Hinata.
If kunoichi's sex appeal was something that they had to be proficient with, Peter would say that Hinata hands down was a master at it. Beautiful face, wonderful personality, kind heart, tender and sweet, and the other part Peter liked is that she had a body that would make a monk think indecent thoughts.
Since he knew this was going to be the obvious option, he would choose one that focused on skills, he had two options really, Rock Lee, or Sasuke Uchiha, and just to make sure that Peter didn't end up screwing up the mission so badly that they had to repeat that mission over and over again, he chose Sasuke since he would be picked to be in a team with Naruto.
As the choices were entered and the dungeon was created they found themselves in the Naruto Series, but for some strange reason the place had changed here and there, most people would never notice them, but they were present, for instance, both Sasuke and Naruto were not orphans, their parents were perfectly alive and well.
Hinata was not the girl Harry remembered as being the girl that was so shy that she fainted from embarrassment she was very assertive in what he wanted and her opinion, one look at her fighting her sister the person could say there was nothing gentle in that fist.
The dungeon started right after the final exams had happened and the teams would be announced, Harry knew Peter's character had already probably beaten Mizuki's skull in and he was given a field promotion. He still had to pretend that he didn't know and had to remember to call him by his character name or else this would confuse every one of the characters that were part of the dungeon.
Naruto looked at Sasuke with a sneer and told him that he would make it past the final exams, to which Sasuke said he didn't only make it but he was also the top ninja of their graduating class, while Naruto at best would be considered dead last or so he wanted to say, but in reality, Sasuke told him that it was good that he also passed.
Sakura was practically blushing so much that her face looked like smoke was about to come out of her head, she was the top kunoichi so in the tradition of the village she was ecstatic that she would be placed in a team with Sasuke, but she didn't know who would be their last team member, it could be Naruto or even Kiba.
As they heard the team they were placed they knew this was a part of the series that didn't change, it was Team Seven under Kakashi Hakate, with Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, and Naruto Uzumaki as team members. Both Naruto and Sasuke knew this series quite well so they decided to skip the entire warm and fuzzy speech about the bright future they had and decided to go to the roof to wait for Kakashi to appear.
Sakura asked them why they were headed to the roof terrace and they both simply said that they could use some fresh air, besides they couldn't practice their techniques while being inside the classroom with so many people.
Sakura asked Sasuke why aren't waiting for their sensei like the other teams in the classroom, Naruto simply said that would be a waste of time, their sensei was famous for one thing, and that was never arriving at a place on time, so if they are going to have to waste time while waiting for him to appear they might as well get some training while they do so.
As Naruto and Sasuke began to train to control their chakra by walking up the nearby wall, they saw Sakura looking at them with this weird confused look on her face, "It is not that difficult once you learn how to do it, you need to use Chakra on the bottom of your feet and stick to the surface of the wall, that makes you able to walk, too little you fall, too much you get pushed off."
Thanks to Sakura being able to learn quicker than any other girl in their year it didn't take them long to get her to learn to do this, she did fall twice but Sasuke caught her before she got hurt from her body dropping on the floor of the terrace.
As they kept practicing Sakura asked where was their sensei and when is he going to show up. Sasuke began to laugh and so did Naruto, they both told her that he had been near even before they walked through the door to the terrace. He is just hidden and watching them.
Sakura became angry and asked them where was he. Sasuke pointed at a tree branch and Naruto hit the tree branch with a wind-infused kunai that caused half of it to be cut clean off and drop to the ground. After the tree branch fell Kakashi was easy to see sitting on the stump of the tree branch.
"Ok, I think I got to know how you three work but how about an introduction, my name is Kakashi Hatake, I like reading and training, I dislike traitors, and my dream is to make this team strong enough to protect Konoha. You next girl, then the boy next to you, and finally the blonde."
"My name is Sakura Haruno, I like to read and learn. I dislike reckless attention seekers and perverts. My dream is to make my parents proud and become an officially recognized Ninja Clan." She looked at Naruto not wanting to do this since everyone knew who he was.
"My name is well known, but it is Naruto Uzumaki, yes I don't have red hair since I was born with the same hair color as my dad, so get over it, I like many things, and I dislike many more, my dreams, honestly they are none of your business. If you are smart you will figure them out eventually, if you can."
Kakashi told him that was no way to treat his teammates, to which Naruto told him that at the moment they are mere acquaintances, there is no team until they face his test, and he was famous for having teams fail and end up in the academy for an extra year. So if they want to get to know his likes, dislikes, and dreams, they first must pass the test and become a team.
Naruto looked at them with a serious look as Sakura was screaming about there being a test since they made it, they graduated from the academy why would there be another test, and stop making stuff up to try and sound cool, this upset Naruto as he looked at her.
He looked at her and simply said, the academy test was to make sure people are skilled enough to take the actual test, and each team sensei has their test designed by them and if they fail that test at best they will be sent back to the academy for another year at worst they would get stripped of their headbands and never be a ninja.
He looked at Kakashi, and asked him if he got everything he told Sakura correctly, Kakashi began to laugh and said that he indeed knew the reason for the team tests, and indeed, the test will be on Training Field Seven, at six in the morning, he did suggest that they should avoid eating breakfast or they will more than likely throw up.
The next morning Sasuke and Naruto did exactly as they thought they should they had a nice breakfast and took a snack to share with Sakura as they waited for at least two hours for Kakashi to arrive at the meeting place.
As soon as they saw the two of them eating something Sakura was first to accuse them of doing something wrong until Sasuke mentioned that Kakashi didn't order them to skip breakfast it was a suggestion, and with an empty stomach they will be able to focus on the test.
So instead of complaining about it he told her to eat some of the food they both brought for her before Kakashi shows up, or their hidden advantage will be lost. She finally saw reason and ate her food as she realized that they both were right.
They waited and as they did so, Sakura began to wonder if they had any idea what the test could be. The possibilities were infinite, the test was made by the Jounin Instructor, it could be anything, it all depends on what purpose team seven is going to be, and they were never told what role their team would have.
This made Sakura realize there was no way for them to prepare till Naruto told them that as long as they work together, and are there to help each other, there is no test that Kakashi can make they can't overcome. The three of them together will be able to figure it out.
Sasuke said that multiple perspectives could make breaking the strategy behind the test a lot easier since they each would have different perspectives and understanding of the actual test. Sakura simply said it was the idea of two heads working better than one.
Naruto could think of one test that if this was regular continuity without any changes it would be the test that pits teammates against each other, making the team fight and causing the entire team to fail, the bell test.
Kakashi finally made it to the assigned meeting place and it took him an extra hour for him to get to them, "Well look who got lost on the road of life, come on, we been waiting for her for hours, can we please get this test over with so we can start doing missions?"
Kakashi was shocked to hear Naruto say that which made him begin laughing, he was certainly not expecting this at all. "Ok, sorry I kept you waiting but this old lady needed help with her groceries and it took me longer than what I expected, so come on let's go to the training field since you are anxious about the test."
As soon as they made it to the training field where the memorial stone where the names of all the ninjas that have died defending the village were located, Kakashi began to look at them, "The test is simply you have three hours to get these bells from me, the person who doesn't get a bell fails and goes back to the academy since I only have two bells. See simple. Oh, and the time began to count when I first said bell."
The infamous bell test, the test that would trick teammates to turn on each other to get a bell for themselves and pass, but the simple act of doing that would cause the entire team to fail, there are no teams without four members.
Naruto could remember the way the bells sounded, and Sasuke could tell there was something particularly twisted in the way the test was set to test their ability to work together. "Look there is no chance in hell that we will be able to knock out Kakashi, we are Genin, and at best he is a Jounin, and worse I know he is a former ANBU Captain, so we got zero chance in defeating him."
"Instead here is what we need to do, Sasuke you can place him in a Genjutsu, Sakura needs to act like a distraction and decoy, and I can use my shadow clones to sneak up to Kakashi while he is under the Genjutsu and take the bells. Come on people let's get those bells, and if in the end I don't get one so be it, at least I can help you two to get one."
This made Sakura relax thinking that they were going to keep the bells for themselves and that she would have to tell her parents that she had to go for another year to the academy because she failed a test. She didn't want to disappoint her parents, and she was afraid of how her mother would punish her if she did that.
Kakashi listened to the entire conversation and sure enough, he found the plan to be well thought and if they managed to execute it, it would show some talent, but he had to put them through the test to see if they can pull off their plan.
The minute he saw Sakura pretend to be injured he pretended to go and help her, but the minute that he was near Sakura he saw her puffed into smoke as the ground began to pull him down till only his head was seen, and he felt someone take the bells from his belt pouch.
The minute this happened they knew that the discussion they had before was a trap that they had set up to trap him, more than likely they set up this strategy while they were waiting for him. Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura took off towards the place where the memorial stone was.
Kakashi was not amused at all, he was downright pissed. He was chasing after them and as he got near one that had the bells he tossed it to another teammate, and so they pretty much tossed the bells between each other every single time Kakashi got close to them until they reached the memorial stone and the test time ran out.
"What made you think of doing that?" Kakashi asked while pretending to be furious, Naruto told him he said the test was about getting the bells, there was nothing said about keeping them, Sasuke mentioned that if they didn't work together the plan wouldn't work, and finally, Sakura mentioned that she understood they either pass or fail together.
This made Kakashi begin to laugh as he heard them say that, these three managed to figure out the true purpose of the bell test on their own, Kakashi wanted to fail them so he could go back to being an ANBU Captain, but after hearing this and the level of planning and teamwork, how could he?
Kakashi knew that training this team would be challenging, but in the end, it would also be quite rewarding. "I see you three figured out the test, well done, I hereby declare that Team Seven is now an official team. But out of curiosity what would you do if I said one of you failed and I tied the person while the two others ate their packed lunch, without permission of feeding the one that was tied up."
Sasuke said that any one of them would simply disobey that order for the wellbeing of their teammate, abandon a mission the person is scum, but abandon a team member and that person was worse than scum. Naruto joked that there was no I in the word team.
After all, they know Naruto's dad was one of the people that used the bell test to test his team, so of course, he and Sasuke knew all about it the minute he decided to mention having to get the bells. This made Kakashi laugh and asked if Sasuke had awakened his Sharingan.
Since he was the team instructor Sasuke didn't answer he just activated his eyes and looked at him much to his shock it was a fully mature version of the Sharingan, three tomoe in each eye, but he did keep it secret that he also activated the Mangekyo Sharingan but he would need to be insane to mention this to anyone, especially since Orochimaru was still alive.
"Well, it looks like I will have to start training you three from now on, since you passed the test we are now officially a team, come on, we need to report this to the Hokage and get everything ready so that we can start doing missions. Naruto called it as he saw it, he said that he was not getting his hopes up and more than likely for several months they will do over-glorified chores.
Sakura asked him what the hell he was talking about, Naruto simply said that the lowest rank of missions is no better than chores, the rank is called the D rank missions. There is only one mission that is an absolute nightmare, and that was catching and bringing back a cat to his owner, which is the wife of the fire daimyo.
Sasuke did mention that catching Tora was not going to be easy or pleasant but as long as the Hokage assigned that mission they had little choice in the matter. Naruto simply said that they could kill the cat, to which Sasuke was quick to mention that if they or anyone did that from Konoha, this would cause the village to lose favor from the fire daimyo.
Which essentially means kill Tora and the person who did it pretty much killed the entire village. So as far as anyone was concerned this was not a good choice. So they simply caught the feline and get the mission considered complete. Kakashi laughed and told them that every team has to do that mission at least once.
The day ended with Kakashi informing the Hokage that team seven passed the bell test and they should now be considered an active team ready for missions, the Hokage smiled at them and said considering the harsh test they had been through they return the next day for their first mission.
As soon as they left the Hokage and tower and everyone left for their homes at the end of the day both Naruto and Sasuke see their world turn back into the empty void that is like it was before the dungeon was created a window appears with a few notifications,
"Congratulations you have finished the first level of the Naruto Dungeon, you have gained access to the Naruto inventory at the game store, you have gained a passive skill, chakra manipulation, and a new energy had been unlocked within your bodies, called Chakra."
"New class has been unlocked Konoha Ninja. You have gained three hundred thousand points, you may use these points to purchase things from the shop, the shop had previously unlocked the Marvel inventory and DC inventory. Please be aware there is a real money game point conversion system however game points are considered more valuable than non-game currency so be aware of the exchange rate."
"Once you restart the dungeon the campaign shall continue from your log-off point due to a comprehensive auto-save feature. Both save and load functions can only be accessed through the main menu."
