Reginald's Star Rise Celebration

(A/N: Happy New Year!)

The air buzzes with excitement as thousands of Toads, Koopas, Goombas, and other Mushroom Kingdom residents fill the square. Strings of colorful lights illuminate the town, and a festive melody echoes from a band of Toads on stage. Vendors line the streets with delicious-smelling treats: roasted Fire Flower seeds, Shroom Dogs, and Starberry pie. Everyone's eyes, however, are on the grand Power Star at the base of its towering pole.

The cameras pan to the main stage as Mayor Toadsworth, wearing his finest suit, steps up to the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen, citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom, and viewers at home, the time has come! Tonight, we welcome not only a new year but a new tradition as we pass the honor to someone very special."

He gestures toward the side of the stage, and the crowd erupts into applause. "Please welcome Reginald the Human!"

You walk onto the stage, heart racing but smiling wide, as the cheering grows even louder. You take your place at the microphone, the Power Star glittering behind you.

Your Speech:

"Good evening, everyone! What an incredible sight—Toad Town Square brimming with so much joy, excitement, and hope for the new year. It's truly an honor to stand here before you on such a magical night.

As we prepare to send off 2024, let's take a moment to reflect on everything we've shared together this past year. It's been a year of adventure, growth, and, most importantly, unity. From celebrating Princess Peach's birthday in the skies of Sky Land to the daring success of Mario and Luigi's rescue mission to Lava Lava Island, this year has reminded us of the strength we have when we work together.

We've seen new friendships blossom, new ideas come to life, and even new games in the annual Mushroom Cup that had us cheering until our voices gave out. And who could forget the amazing contributions from all corners of the kingdom, from the Yoshis on Yoshi's Island to the Boos of Boo Woods, who all helped make this kingdom better for everyone?

But now, as we turn the page, we look ahead to 2025. A new year, full of new adventures, new memories, and endless possibilities. As we prepare to send the Power Star to the top of the pole, let's carry with us the spirit of hope and determination that has made this kingdom so extraordinary."

You take a deep breath and smile at the sea of faces before you. "Now, it's time! Toad Town, Mushroom Kingdom, are you ready?"

The crowd roars. "YES!"

You turn to the glowing button on the stage, your hand hovering above it. "Let's count down together! Here we go: 3... 2... 1..."

With a firm press of the button, the Power Star begins to ascend. Its light grows brighter and brighter, illuminating the square like the rising sun. When the final ten seconds approach, the crowd chants in unison:

"10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...!"

As the Power Star reaches the top, it bursts into a radiant yellow glow, sending golden beams across the sky. Fireworks explode in a dazzling array of colors, spelling out "Welcome 2025!" above the square. The crowd erupts into cheers, and music swells to mark the beginning of a new year.

From the stage, you take one last look at the crowd, the sky, and the radiant star shining down on the kingdom. This moment is yours—and theirs—to treasure forever.
