It was incredible they had been found, a miracle they were both alive. Hypothermia was the biggest concern, but Natasha was Russian, born and bred. The cold never bothered her. Her worry was Clint, his blood loss, his head trauma. She gave him all the warmth and strength she could until the extraction.
By his bed, in the hospital room, she gripped his still-cold hand between her own, continuing the prayer begun amongst the ice. Eyes closed, she still saw swirling snow, darkness edging in. Then suddenly, pressure on her fingers. She looked up into warm blue-green eyes and smiled.
