Hermione jerked upright and her bedding tangled around her legs as she hopped out of bed. She yawned, and stumbled over to the window. It was still dark outside.
"I'm never gonna sleep," Hermione muttered. "It's that bloody dream, I just can't understand it!" Hermione had told Ron and Harry the day before, but she had ignored their unhelpful advice.
"I keep seeing this X," she had told them.
"It's a Grimm," Ron said.
"Yeah," Harry agreed. "Go tell Trelawny, she'll be thrilled someone's finally seen it."
"Besides you, you mean," Ron grinned.
"Would you shut up, you too?" Hermione complained. Crookshanks slunk over to the sofa they were occupying and Hermione stroked his shaggy fur.
"Hey," Ron said, "you could be the next divination teacher!"
"Divination is stupid."
"Then how do you explain your dream?" Ron asked seriously. "You should tell Trawlawny."
"What? No!" Hermione cried. "It's just a dream."
"But you're the one who's always telling me to talk to Mcgonogal or Dumbledore," Harry said.
"I'll tell someone if I have the dream again tonight," Hermione decided, shutting the book that lay on her lap. "But Harry, I think in the future I should leave the abnormal dreaming to you."
So here she was, the next morning, if it even was morning. And her reoccurring dream had recurred again. Hermione sighed, and grabbed a scroll and quill from next to her bed. Turning over the letter she had been writing on the scroll, Hermione carefully drew out the symbol from her dream. Suddenly, the drawing opened up like a gaping mouth and abd started sucking Hermione down. "AAahhh!" Hermione's shrieks were drowned out by a roar. Hermione shut her eyes and covered her ears. She felt her stomach drop as she fell faster than Floo powder could carry anyone. I'm gonna die, she thought. Then, her vision clouded and her head began to spin, and everything went black.
