Hi! I hope you enjoy chapter 3. I don't own Enola, Hermione, or Universal Studios (but it would be fun if I did!). Please feel free to leave suggestions, feedback and requests-any and all reviews are greatly appreciated. Thank you to those who liked and followed my story-you're the reason why the next chapter is here early. And now it's time for the girls to meet!
Chapter 3:
Enola landed on her feet with a bump. She stumbled, but caught herself. She gasped as she looked around. She stood in front of a giant globe and there were so many new objects—little rectangles that played music, horns honking from a distance, weird spiny things right in front of her, and the clothes! Enola had never seen anything like the bright colored T-shirts, the jeans, or the vibrant makeup people wore. Enola reached into her clothes for chalk, but as she looked down, she yelped.
"My clothes!" Enola said in awe. "They changed!" She tugged at her new pink shirt and navy leggings. Mouth agape, Enola began to follow the crowd. She stopped when she saw a strange, large object on wheels. Enola peered through the window and was intrigued to find seats and a steering wheel. She caught her reflection in the window and shrieked. Her hair was black, and so curly! It fell halfway to her waist.
"But I don't like it," Enola said, and she felt panic rise in her chest. "I don't want these clothes. I want mine! This isn't mine, I want my hair back!" Enola closed her eyes and sank down, leaning back against the car.
"Excuse me, are you done?" Someone snapped at her.
"Are you lost, child?" another voice called gently.
"We want our picture," a man complained. "I don't have all day."
Enola opened her eyes and saw a crowd of people shouting at her, and a few women leaning down near her, concerned.
"Leave me alone," she said, "I-"
Enola trailed off as a girl with short, straight brown hair and a simple maroon dress bent down and grabbed her arm.
"She's mine," the girl said firmly, pulling Enola up and grabbing her hand. She led Enola away to a bench, but she didn't sit.
"I don't think you're from here," the girl said.
"I'm not," Enola replied.
"Then we need to stick together, Enola."
Enola stared up at the girl, her eyes wide. "Who are you?"
Hermione landed on her feet with a bump. She stumbled, but caught herself. "Where am I?" She wondered out loud. She stood in front of a giant globe that read "Universal." Hermione reached into her robe to get her wand, and her mouth fell open when she realized she was wearing a muggle dress.
"Please be in here." Hermione reached into her dress pocket and sighed with relief when she felt her wand.
"There's money in here," Hermione muttered, pulling out the contents of her pockets. "Five hundred U.S. dollars. And two tickets for something… an amusement park. This amusement park!" Hemione looked up at the Universal globe in awe. "I'm at a place called Universal Studios Hollywood." Hermione looked down at the passes and saw that one read Hermione and the other read Enola.
"Enola," Hermione whispered. "I have to find her." She didn't have to look long. Hermione saw a young girl next to a car that read "scooby doo."
"But I don't like it," Hermione heard the girl say. "I don't want these clothes. I want mine! This isn't mine, I want my hair back!" The girl closed her eyes and sank down, leaning back against the car.
People shouted at her, shocked at the audacity of a little girl who dared to stop up the photo que line.
This has to be her, Hermione thought. She walked up to the girl.
"Leave me alone," the girl said, "I-"
Sucking in a quick breath, Hermione grabbed her arm.
"She's mine," Hermione said firmly, pulling the girl up and grabbing her hand. Hermione led her away to a bench, but didn't sit.
"I don't think you're from here," Hermione said.
"I'm not," the girl replied.
"Then we need to stick together, Enola."
Enola stared up at Hermione, her eyes wide. "Who are you?"
Yay! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed! Come back for chapter 4 in 1-3 days.
