Thanks for coming back for chapter 4! Sorry for the long wait. Reviews with suggestions/feedback/requests/general feedback are greatly appreciated and inspire me to write faster! And now for the girls' moment of truth...
After a dreadfully slow fifteen minutes of comparing backgrounds, Enola and Hermione were in line at the ticket booth.
"How does this thing work?" Enola asked, eyes wide.
"We scan our tickets," Hermione told her.
"I wanna draw it."
"I haven't got a crayon."
"Me neither," Enola said, feeling her pockets. "My chalk is gone."
"We can buy some, I'm sure," Hermione said, holding out their tickets to scan. Hermione hesitated when she saw the names on the tickets had changed.
"I wonder why that is," she muttered under her breath. After a confused Enola and a wary Hermione scanned their fingerprints, the girls entered the park.
"Let's walk around," Hermione suggested.
"Obviously," Enola replied. "We weren't just gonna stand here." The girls had only taken a few steps when Enola froze and grabbed Hermione's arm.
"It's an atol!" Enola said excitedly.
"What?" Hermione asked.
"But we're on dry land," Enola realized, drawing her eyebrows confusedly. She walked over to the "atol."
"It's a play," Hermione said, reading the sign by the entrance. "It's called waterworld."
"A play?" Enola asked, confused.
"Yes, look, here's the cast list."
"What's a cast?"
"It's a list of people in the play," Hermione explained. "Here, look."
"Can we go inside?" Enola asked.
"The next showtime is at 10:15am," Hermione read. "What time is it now?" She turned to a crew member.
"Excuse me, what time is it?" Hermione asked.
"8:47am."
"Thank you!" Hermione turned back to Enola and saw her trying to climb into the jet ski prop. Before Enola could get in trouble, Hermione grabbed her wrist and pulled her away.
"There's still hours before the show starts," Hermione told her. "Let's go do something else."
"Why is there an atol here?" Enola asked.
"You know," Hermione frowned, "I think I have a pretty good idea. Don't touch anything for a moment and I'll test my theory." Hermione turned back to the cast member. "What is the play Waterworld about?"
"It's a stunt show based on the 1995 movie Waterworld."
"What genre is Waterworld?" Hermione asked.
"Sci-Fi."
Hermione nodded knowingly. "Who are the main characters?"
"Helen, the Mariner, Enola, and Gregor."
"And is Hogwarts here too?"
"Yes, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is right this way."
"Thank you." Hermione beckoned to a stunned Enola to follow her. They walked in the direction the crew member had pointed them.
"How does he know the Mariner?" Enola asked. "And Helen. And me!"
"We don't exist in this world," Hermione explained. "We're just characters, imaginary characters. So we must use fake names."
"What name?"
"Well let's see, Enola. Your ticket says 'Ninah.' And mine says… Sofia."
"Ok, Sofia," Enola said, a smile spreading across her face. "Let's go begin our adventure!"
I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Thank you for reading and many thanks to those of you who followed and liked. Please leave a review and check back (hopefully) later this week for the next chapter!
