"Hello" - normal talking
'Hello' - thoughts
"Ladies, gentlemen, children of all ages! Are you ready?" The announcer's voice boomed across the arena, igniting cheers and screams of excitement from the crowd. Anticipation crackled in the air, people had waited five years for this moment, and now it was finally here. "That's right, folks! It's time for the twenty-first World Martial Arts Tournament!"
The atmosphere was electric, with banners waving and fans chanting the names of their favorite fighters. The announcer raised his hand for silence. "Now, let's announce the matches for the first round!" The crowd erupted once again, a wave of enthusiasm washing over them.
"First Match: Bacterian vs. Krillin!"
"Second Match: Jackie Chun vs. Yamcha!"
"Third Match: Ranfan vs. ChiChi!"
"And the Fourth Match: Naruto vs. Nam!"
In the back of the arena, competitors were mentally preparing themselves for the battles ahead. The excitement was palpable, each fighter feeling a mix of nerves and determination, well except for certain Saiyan and his Dad.
"Very soon, the first match between contestant Bacterian and contestant Krillin will begin," the announcer continued. "But first, a word from our esteemed tournament chairman." The audience quieted, and a scrappy-looking gray dog-man in a kimono shuffled onto the stage. A hush fell over the crowd. The chairman took the microphone, glanced at the crowd, and simply said, "Woof."
Facepalms rippled through the audience. The announcer shook his head, chuckling. "Isn't that profound?" He turned back to the eager crowd. "Now, the first match begins! Will both fighters please make their entrance?"
Krillin felt a knot of anxiety twist in his stomach as he approached the ring. The sound of the crowd faded into a dull roar as he focused on the task at hand. ChiChi's voice broke through his thoughts. "Good luck out there, Krillin!" she encouraged, her bright smile lighting up the nervousness in his heart.
"Just remember to have fun!" Naruto added, his words added more encouragement. Krillin nodded, trying to shake off his nervousness. "Thanks, guys," he replied, rubbing the back of his head, a nervous habit he had picked up over the years.
As Krillin climbed into the ring, he caught sight of Naruto and ChiChi leaning over the wall, grinning and waving at him. Their support gave him a small boost of confidence, and he took a deep breath, focusing on his opponent.
Suddenly, a foul odor filled the arena, making everyone cover their noses in disgust. Bacterian, a colossal man with bulging muscles and a nasty appearance, climbed into the ring. He was notorious for never bathing, and the stench that followed him was a lethal weapon in itself. Krillin winched, his confidence wavering as he took in Bacterian's grotesque figure, dark brown skin, unkempt hair, a bushy beard, and missing teeth.
The announcer struggled to maintain his composure, covering his nose with a napkin. "And here we have contestant Krillin, the youngest fighter at just 13 years old!" He gestured toward Krillin, who held his breath, holding his nonexistent nose, trying to block out the stench.
"And this stinky gentleman over here," the announcer continued, attempting to lighten the mood, "has never taken a bath since the time he was born! Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Bacterian!" The Bacterian roared at the crowd spreading more of his stinks.
In the crowd, Bulma and Oolong cringed at the smell. "So Krillin better come out top, huh it stinks even worse than skunk?" Oolong remarked, his voice muffled by his own hands. Due to being a beast man, his sense of smell was higher than others. The uncomfortable look on his face was palpable to all.
"EWWWWW! It sure is stinky," Bulma echoed, her expression a mix of amusement and concern. "I hope Krillin defeats that guy."
"Now listen here!" the announcer exclaimed, regaining control of the crowd. "If you fall out of the ring, you will lose! Let's keep it nice and clean—oh, wait, scratch that! It's clearly not possible. SO MATCH ONE BEGIN!"
"Uuu!" Krillin crouched into his stance with one hand covering his nose and the other hand positioned in a fist.
"Geh, heh, heh, heh!" Bacterian Laughed and released his disgusting odor. He slowly went to his opponent. Krillin felt a little dizzy from the smell. Bacterian tried to punch him but Krillin, seeing this quickly, jumped out of the way, making backflips into the air and having enough momentum to control his speed as he landed swiftly on the other side of the stage. Krillin moved his hand from a fist to a come signal at the giant man.
"Come closer boy." Bacterian Laughed and again went to punch Krillin but he jumped away from the stinky man. "Nice trick. But I've got some tricks too!" Krillin couldn't react in time as the giant took a quick breath and released what could only be described as the foulest stench ever from his mouth.
Krillin couldn't hold his breath any longer and started to breathe in the foul smell "Ohh…ohhhhh" He felt very dizzy. But the Bacterian wasn't finished yet "And here try this." He put his right hand in his tights and started to rub his crotch. He brings out his hand. It was covered in more grime than usual "Smelly finger!" he went to touch Krillin. He was frozen in his place due to the odor. The finger came closer to his face, While the finger itself didn't touch him the odor was enough to do the job. Krillin felt like he was zapped with a million volts of electricity. The world before him started to spin around. Everything was beginning to go dark, soon he fell off his feet.
"UH- Oh, Contestant Krillin quickly goes down after that attack." The announcer said and One of the staff members started the count. "It's a pungent attack both from the mouth and crotch! It is too much for the little Krillin."
"It must be unbearable!" ChiChi said. Naruto beside her said nothing but he could only imagine what Krillin was feeling right now.
"What a vulgar technique!" Bulma felt sorry for Krillin.
"Get up Krillin, You can do it, Get up," Oolong shouted. Seeing the pig shout and cheer for his friend, everyone started to cheer for Krillin to get up.
Slowly, Krillin stood up facing Bacterian. With shaky legs, He tried to balance himself while getting back to his stance. He didn't want to fight this stinky man but he didn't want to let his friends and Master Roshi down. So he decided to fight again. Bacterian quickly held Krillin by his neck, preventing any air from coming through "I will strangle you to death!"
"Bacterian is not just a smelly guy! He is using a neck-hanging move on Krillin. This is punishing." Slowly, Krillin's face started to turn blue from lack of air. But Krillin landed a kick in his opponent's hand and batted his arms away. Bacterian fell down from his kicks. Seconds after being hit, the large man sat up.
"You make me hurt," he told Krillin, getting up and walking over to the boy. Krillin took a step back and each time the other took a step forward. They did this until he was only half a step away from being ring out.
"Contestant Krillin has nowhere to go! If he falls from the ring, he loses!" the announcer said.
'This doesn't even make any sense, he doesn't even have a nose!' Roshi thought.
"Come on Krillin, How can you lose to a guy like that?!" ChiChi shouted. Krillin just can't lose after all the hard training he went through. Suddenly ChiChi felt realization hit her " Krillin focus your mind. The stench is all in your mind! There's no way you can smell it. You ain't got a nose, do you?"
"Th…that's right!" Krillin said, "How can I forget that?" He looked at ChiChi who facepalmed at her friend's forgetfulness of his own nonexistent nose. Naruto beside her couldn't help but chuckle. "Thank you ChiChi!" Krillin turned to his opponent. He raced to his opponent. Bacterian tried to use his smelly finger once again but Krillin dodged it and landed a hard punch to his face. Krillin watched Bacterian fall out of the ring to the ground with a 'thud'.
Cheers erupted as Bacterian flew through the air, crashing spectacularly through the competition hall wall. Krillin stood there, stunned at how easy it was.
"Oh, my! This has been a miraculous reversal! Contestant Krillin has won the round and he comes with a marvelous victory!" The announcer declared as the whole crowd cheered for Krillin.
Krillin quickly went to his friends. "You did it! You did it" ChiChi said in joy.
"Congratulations, Krillin," Naruto said.
"Thanks, guys. I Couldn't have done it without your support guys."
"Please wait for the second match until we finish deodorizing and cleaning up the arena,"
"I wonder if Master Roshi is proud of me," Krillin said, glancing nervously toward the audience.
ChiChi looked around, trying to spot the old master but came up empty. "Huh! Where is Master Roshi?" she asked, biting her lip in concern.
"Don't worry, ChiChi. He's around here somewhere," Naruto reassured her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "And Krillin, Dad is really proud of you. Just trust me, okay?"
Krillin managed a smile, the tension in his shoulders easing slightly. "Thanks, guys. I'll do my best!"
As the crowd continued to buzz with excitement, the announcer's voice boomed over the arena. "Now then, ladies and gentlemen, we will continue to the second match! The clash will be between Contestant Jackie Chun and Contestant Yamcha! Please make your entrances!"
Yamcha hopped into the ring with confidence. "This will be a piece of cake! I'll take down that old dude before he even sees me coming!" His bravado echoed through the arena.
Jackie Chun, moving with a calm and measured pace, approached the ring. As he passed Krillin, he paused to smile warmly. "That was a splendid kick earlier, Krillin. Keep that up!"
"Ah, t-thank you!" Krillin replied confusingly, feeling a strange sense of familiarity wash over him. 'Have I met him before?'
The announcer continued, introducing both fighters. "In the orange and green uniform, we have the young and fearless Yamcha!" He gestured dramatically. "And here is Contestant Jackie Chun!"
"Peace! Peace!" Jackie Chun waved to the crowd, exuding a relaxed confidence.
Yamcha narrowed his eyes on Jackie. 'Jackie Chun, huh? For an old man who's capable of entering the tournament, I've never even heard of him before. What kind of technique does he use?' The thought gnawed at him as he took his stance.
"So then, we will commence the second match! Begin!" the announcer shouted, excitement crackling in the air.
Yamcha took a deep breath, focusing on Jackie. But Jackie simply stood there, hands behind his back, an amused smile dancing on his lips.
'W-What's this? No stance?' Yamcha thought as his eyes narrowed at the old man. 'He's wide open! I can't feel any fighting spirit from him either. He must be pretty sure of himself…'
With a determined leap, Yamcha aimed a kick at Jackie's face, but Jackie effortlessly dodged. He tried again, throwing punches at a rapid pace, but Jackie was always one step ahead, weaving and sidestepping with surprising agility.
"You can't quite hit me, can you?" Jackie teased, his voice was playful, not taking the fight seriously at all, as if they were just sparring.
"What was that?!" Yamcha growled, his frustration growing higher. He lunged at Jackie again, unleashing a barrage of punches and kicks.
"Contestant Yamcha is attacking with incredible speed, but Contestant Chun is avoiding him with ease! Who knew the elderly could move so fast?" The announcer's voice was filled with astonishment.
"Hey, Naruto! Come look! That old guy's incredibly fast!" ChiChi exclaimed, nudging Naruto, who stood with a fake impressed look on his face.
"Yeah, I can see that," he replied, eyes glued to the ring.
"Say, Naruto, you know Yamcha, right?" Krillin asked.
"Yeah, but I took him down with a single attack when we met," Naruto replied.
"Yamcha seems to be struggling, that old guy is awfully fast," ChiChi noted, her brow furrowed. "Can you beat him, Naruto?"
"Absolutely! I'm sure I can take him down if it comes to that," Naruto said confidently.
In the ring, Yamcha continued to throw punches, each one missing its mark as Jackie moved with fluid grace, evading every blow effortlessly.
"This footwork is incredible for an elderly man!" Yamcha shouted, growing increasingly desperate. "I can't believe I'm getting schooled like this! Time to unleash my Wolf Fang technique!" He gathered his energy, racing towards Jackie with fierce determination. "WOLF FANG FIST!"
But Jackie dodged again with great speed, his movements almost a blur. Yamcha whipped around, stunned. "Huh?!"
Jackie finally took his fighting stance, gathering a small amount of ki in his hand. "I think I'll present you with a refreshing breeze." He struck the air, sending a powerful wave of energy that sent Yamcha sprawling off the ring and crashing into the brick wall.
The crowd gasped in shock. "Incredible! That match was almost like having a dream in broad daylight! Contestant Chun displayed great strength and agility, winning without laying so much as a hand on Yamcha!" The announcer's voice echoed through the arena, as the crowd cheered for the winner.
"T-This can't be! I... I lost to that old man?" Yamcha was left in disbelief, eyes wide.
"That Guy... how did he do that?" Krillin murmured, awestruck.
"He used ki, didn't he, Naruto?" Chi-Chi asked, glancing at him.
"Yes, but how do you know about that?" Naruto replied, curious.
"My Daddy told me about it once," Chi-Chi explained. "Naruto, you can use ki. Surely you can beat him."
"Don't worry, Chi-Chi. I'll handle it," Naruto assured her, his confidence unwavering. But Krillin's anxiety grew, suddenly he felt as if his chances of winning were getting slimmer and slimmer.
"The next one to fight that old guy... is me, isn't it?" he stammered, eyes wide.
"Mm-hmm," Chi-Chi confirmed, trying to offer encouragement.
"Oh, man…" Krillin swallowed hard, feeling the weight of the challenge.
Backstage, Yamcha and Jackie exchanged words. "You really beat me. I was powerless against you," Yamcha admitted, a mix of admiration and frustration in his voice. "That last move... I couldn't even see it!" he added, shaking his head in disbelief.
"It is energy from within," Jackie responded, his tone gentle. "Maybe someday I'll teach you how to harness it."
"But still..."
"You're still young," Jackie reassured him. "You'll get stronger as you go on. Just keep training."
Yamcha stared at the old man with curious eyes, he looked very familiar to him "Um... By any chance, are you..." Yamcha was cut off by the announcer.
"And now, ladies and gentlemen, we continue with the third match, Contestant ChiChi vs. Contestant Ranfan!" the announcer declared, his voice booming across the arena.
"ChiChi, it's your turn," Naruto said, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Just focus and do your best, okay?"
"Yeah, ChiChi! You've got this!" Krillin chimed in, his eyes shining with encouragement.
ChiChi smiled at her friends, her heart racing with anticipation. This was the first time she would be performing on the world's biggest stage as a martial artist in front of so many people. She walked to the ring where Ranfan awaited, her posture exuding confidence. Yamcha, still in the background, watched Jackie Chun closely, a sense of familiarity nagging at him.
'That old guy... Something feels off…' Yamcha thought, trying to shake the feeling.
In the ring, ChiChi and Ranfan took their fighting stances, eyes locked. "So then, we will commence the third match! Begin!" the announcer shouted, signaling the start of the battle.
With the sound of the announcer's voice, the fighters launched at each other, exchanging swift blows. Ranfan, displaying her speed, managed to land a few hits, but ChiChi absorbed them without any difficulty. Suddenly, Ranfan landed a devastating punch to ChiChi's midsection.
"Oww!" ChiChi winced, feeling the heat of the blow radiate through her body. She gasped.
Ranfan smirked, realizing she finally had the upper hand. "How do you like my Heat Fist?" she taunted, her confidence growing.
ChiChi held her midsection, a fire igniting in her eyes. "Ow, that felt hot. But that won't be enough to bring me down!"
"Oh, you're tough! Then I'll just have to hit you harder!" Ranfan charged again, throwing punches and kicks with increasing intensity.
ChiChi remained calm, swiftly blocking Ranfan's aggressive moves. "Is that all you've got?" ChiChi watched her opponent rushing to her with another punch ready to strike her. She was ready for this one though, she raised her right elbow turning her arm to the side and blocking the punch. Her eyes picked up Ranfan's next move which was a front kick. Again, she blocked it, by jumping slightly back and blocking with her right knee.
Ranfan kept attacking. But after seeing her attacks blocked or dodged, she started to get angry. She saw the bored expression on ChiChi's face.
"Stop moving!" Ranfan yelled, frustration creeping into her tone. She unleashed another barrage of strikes, but ChiChi evaded with grace.
"This is incredible! Ranfan keeps attacking, but ChiChi is blocking every move!" the announcer exclaimed, the crowd roaring with excitement as the two beauties displayed their skills.
Feeling the tide of the battle turning, ChiChi decided it was time to end it. With a swift spinning heel kick, she knocked Ranfan off balance, following up with a powerful kick to Ranfan's chest that sent her flying out of the ring.
"Contestant ChiChi has obtained victory with just two blows!" the announcer declared, his voice filled with disbelief.
The crowd erupted into cheers, chanting "CHICHI! CHICHI! CHICHI!" ChiChi blushed, overwhelmed by the attention. She spotted Bulma and Oolong cheering enthusiastically, while Krillin and Naruto beamed with pride.
"Good work, ChiChi! I'm proud of you," Roshi mumbled from the sidelines.
Yamcha overheard him, his thoughts racing. 'His extraordinary strength... and he's proud of ChiChi... Is Jackie Chun... Master Roshi? If that's the case, he's not an opponent I could have beaten. But isn't Master Roshi banned from the tournament?' Yamcha pondered, confusion swirling in his mind.
ChiChi returned to her friends, flushed with triumph. "Did you see that? I won!" she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with excitement.
"Of course, we saw it! You were amazing!" Krillin said, his eyes wide with awe.
"You were fantastic, ChiChi! That last kick was incredible!" Naruto added, grinning at her, which made her heart flutter.
"And now, ladies and gentlemen, we prepare for the fourth match! Contestant Naruto vs. Contestant Nam!" the announcer's voice boomed, his energy infectious. "Will both contestants please make your entrance!"
"All right! It's finally Naruto's turn!" Bulma shouted, her voice high with excitement, cheering for her boyfriend.
"Go get 'em, Naruto!" Oolong cheered, pumping his fist in the air.
"Wish me luck!" he called back to his friends as he walked to the ring.
"You don't need luck, Naruto! Just show them what you've got!" ChiChi shouted.
In the ring, Naruto squared off against Nam, sizing him up. Nam looked determined, his fighting stance firm. But to Naruto, it was clear that Nam was far from his level. He stole a glance at the darkening sky, it was going to rain soon. So he decided to end the match quickly.
"The skies are growling and there is no guessing what will happen, either with the weather or the developments of this next match! Now then, Let the match begin!" the announcer shouted.
Nam focused intently on Naruto, sensing his strength. He had to defeat him for the sake of his people.
Naruto, however, gathered a small amount of ki into his fist, readying himself. He balled his right fist and punched the air in front of him, unleashing a powerful gust of wind. Before Nam could react, he was sent flying out of the ring, landing hard on the ground.
"I-I-I have failed," Nam muttered weakly before losing consciousness.
"R-Ring out! Contestant Naruto wins!" the announcer declared, still in shock, and so was the whole crowd. "What incredible power! He has won his match in record-breaking time!"
"That's my Naruto! That's my boyfriend!" Bulma cheered, bouncing with excitement. Oolong joined in, thrilled by Naruto's display of strength.
Naruto made his way back to his friends, a satisfied grin on his face. Krillin stared at him, dumbfounded, while ChiChi smiled, her resolve solidifying. She had seen Naruto's power firsthand, but she was determined not to back down in their upcoming match in the semi-finals.
…
The anticipation for the semi-finals was palpable as the crowd roared with excitement. "Now then, ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for the Semi-Finals?" the announcer's voice boomed, electrifying the arena. The audience's cheers echoed throughout the city, eager to witness the battles ahead.
"I will now announce the matches," the announcer continued, hyping up the crowd even more.
"First Match: Jackie Chun vs Krillin."
"Second match: Naruto vs ChiChi."
Just as everyone braced themselves for the first match, a heavy downpour began. Raindrops fell on the ground, and the atmosphere shifted. One of the staff hurried over and whispered in the announcer's ear. "We have an announcement," the announcer said, turning to address the disappointed crowd. "The match has been postponed until the rain stops."
ChiChi sighed in frustration, "This truly is too bad." She had been looking forward to showing her strength in her fight against Naruto.
"Cheer up, ChiChi. We'll fight as soon as the rain stops. In the meantime, let's get something to eat. I'm starving." Naruto said, his stomach growling in agreement.
Krillin chimed in with a grin, "Yeah, ChiChi, let's grab some food."
ChiChi smiled at her friends, and they all decided to head to a nearby restaurant where Bulma and Oolong were already waiting.
Upon arriving, Naruto spotted Bulma and excitedly called out her name. Bulma rushed to him, and they shared a warm hug, followed by a long passionate kiss. "You were so cool out there," Bulma said, pleased with his swift victory. "You beat that Nam guy in a second!"
Naruto laughed. "It was nothing," he replied modestly.
"You guys did well too," Oolong added, nodding toward Krillin and ChiChi.
"Thanks, Oolong," Krillin said as they joined their friends at the table.
Everyone sat down and started eating, enjoying the food and each other's company. Half an hour passed, but the rain showed no sign of stopping. Krillin, glancing around the restaurant, suddenly noticed something. "I wonder where Master Roshi went," he said, scanning the area but not finding him anywhere.
"You're right," ChiChi added. "Where could he be?"
"I hope he hasn't gotten lost again," Bulma joked, her eyes landing on an older man sitting a few tables away. "For a second, I thought he was over there." She pointed to the man, Jackie Chun.
Naruto quickly intervened, trying to divert their attention. "Don't worry about him, guys. Dad can take care of himself."
Meanwhile, Yamcha, sitting at a table nearby with Puar, overheard the conversation and stared intently at Jackie Chun. 'I'm going to find out if that old man is Master Roshi in disguise, during the next match I will reveal his identity, no matter what,' Yamcha thought to himself.
Suddenly, the restaurant's atmosphere shifted as a large dinosaur-like beast-man entered, wearing a coat. The creature, resembling a smaller Pterodactyl with a lone horn on its snout, let out a menacing growl. Most of the customers stopped what they were doing and looked on in fear. Despite the tension, people soon resumed their meals, trying to ignore the presence of the beast.
"Who's that?" Bulma asked, eyeing the dinosaur curiously. "Was he in the tournament?"
"Yeah," Naruto replied. "His name is Giran. He got eliminated by Jackie Chun in the preliminaries."
Giran walked up to the bar, glaring at the bartender. "Milk," he demanded. The bartender, confused, stared at him. "Milk!" Giran growled, his patience running thin. The bartender, clearly intimidated, hurriedly poured a glass of milk and handed it to him.
A few monks seated nearby began laughing at Giran. "Milk, he says! That's hilarious!"
"Cool it, man," one of the monks said to the other. "This guy lost to an old man in the preliminaries."
Another monk joined in, laughing harder. "Lost to an old man? That's embarrassing!"
Giran, angered by the monks' mocking, swiftly tripped all of them with his tail. Most of the monks fell to the ground, except one who managed to land on his feet and attacked Giran. However, Giran retaliated with a brutal kick, knocking the monk unconscious.
Just as Giran was about to deliver a final blow to the unconscious monk, Yamcha stood up. "Stop!" Yamcha shouted. "There's no need to take it any further."
"What did you say?" Giran snarled, turning toward Yamcha.
"I said that's enough. The monk got the message, and there's no reason to kill him." Yamcha stood his ground, unfazed by Giran's intimidation.
Naruto, Bulma, and Oolong were surprised by Yamcha's actions. "Well, look at that," Naruto remarked. "He's not such a bad guy after all."
"Yeah," Bulma added. "He may be a bandit, but he's got a good heart."
Giran glared at Yamcha. "Every time I see a goody-goody like you, I break out in a rash!" Giran scratched his body furiously. "I'm itching! I'm itching!"
Yamcha, sensing Giran's aggression building, tried to de-escalate the situation. "Then I'll just be on my way..."
But before Yamcha could leave, Giran launched an attack, swinging his massive fist at him. Yamcha quickly dodged, but Giran wasn't done yet. The dinosaur-like beast continued his relentless assault with his tail, trying to catch Yamcha off-guard. However, Yamcha expertly dodged every strike, landing on his feet and taking a fighting stance.
As Giran raised his fist to slam down on Yamcha, Yamcha disappeared in a blur and reappeared in front of Giran, delivering a powerful kick to his jaw, followed by a punch to his gut. Giran screamed in pain and fell back. Thinking the fight was over, Yamcha turned his back and started walking away.
But Giran wasn't finished. He quickly recovered and wrapped his tail around Yamcha's neck, tightening his grip. "I'll break your neck like a toothpick!" Giran growled.
Yamcha struggled, trying to free himself, but the grip was too strong. Puar screamed in terror, watching as her friend was on the verge of death. Suddenly, Naruto appeared behind Giran and delivered a swift kick to the back of Giran's head, knocking him out cold.
Naruto freed Yamcha from Giran's tail. Yamcha coughed, trying to catch his breath. "Why did you help me?" he asked, still in disbelief.
"I saw you needed help," Naruto replied with a grin.
"But we're enemies," Yamcha said.
"I never said we were enemies," Naruto responded. "Besides, I saw what you did for that monk. No one else helped him, but you did. You're not such a bad guy, are you?"
Yamcha paused, then smiled. "Thanks."
"Hey, why don't you and Puar come sit with us?" Naruto offered.
After a moment of hesitation, Yamcha and Puar accepted the offer. As they joined the group, Yamcha and Puar apologized to Naruto, Bulma, and Oolong for their past actions. Slowly, they all began to get to know each other better, and soon enough, new friendships were formed.
Master Roshi, observing from a distance, smiled to himself, proud of how things were turning out.
…
The rain was over. The arena again buzzed with excitement as the crowd eagerly awaited the start of the semi-finals. People were screaming, their voices echoing across the city in sheer anticipation.
"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for waiting so long!" The announcer's voice boomed across the arena, holding everyone's attention. "As you know, contestant Krillin will face contestant Jackie Chun, and contestant Naruto will go up against contestant ChiChi! But what's really incredible is the age of these three semi-finalists! Now, before we get into the matches, we'd like to conduct a brief interview with these outstanding young fighters!" The announcer pointed toward Naruto, ChiChi, and Krillin, drawing a loud cheer from the crowd.
The noise of excitement filled the air, the sheer energy bouncing off every corner of the arena. Naruto, standing confidently with his arms crossed, smiled at the audience.
"Contestant Naruto," the announcer began, "As I recall, you're only 14 years old, is that right?"
Naruto's grin widened, as he casually nodded. "Yeah, I'm 14," he answered confidently, much to the shock of the spectators. The crowd gasped. Naruto's physique and demeanor made him seem much older, more like a seasoned fighter in his prime than a young teenager.
"Fourteen! Incredible! By the way, about that tail of yours... is it real?" The announcer's curiosity sparked, and all eyes turned to Naruto, fixated on the mysterious reddish-brown furred appendage wrapped around his waist.
Naruto chuckled as he unwrapped his tail, moving it up for everyone to see. The crowd gasped in awe, seeing a human with a tail was beyond belief. Oh how wrong they were!
"Yep, it's real." Naruto wiggled his tail, making it sway. The crowd murmured in amazement, many seeing something like this for the first time.
"Unbelievable!" The announcer gushed, trying to regain his composure. "Moving on, let's hear from our next contestant, beautiful ChiChi! She's the youngest female fighter to ever enter the tournament, and at just 16, she's already making a name for herself!" ChiChi's fans erupted in cheers, their support rang across the stadium.
Naruto leaned toward ChiChi with a playful smirk. "Looks like you've got a fan club," he teased. ChiChi blushed slightly, the heat rising to her cheeks.
The announcer continued, "ChiChi, could you tell us a little about yourself?"
ChiChi hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. She smiled softly and kept her response brief. "Well, I'm ChiChi, daughter of the Ox-King. I come from Mt. Frypan."
The announcer nodded enthusiastically before moving on. "And now, let's introduce our youngest competitor, Krillin! At just 13 years old and the smallest of the group, he's already proven to be a formidable fighter!"
Krillin stood up proudly. "Yeah, and my goal is to surpass my master one day!" He declared with a bold confidence that made the crowd cheer even louder.
The announcer seemed stunned by the trio. "You three are from the same martial arts school, right? Can you tell us which one?"
ChiChi smiled, standing tall. "Yes, we're from the Turtle School, trained by Master Roshi."
Krillin puffed out his chest in pride. "Yeah! We were trained by the great Master Roshi!"
"W-W-What did you just say?!" The announcer stuttered, his face growing pale. "D-Did you say THE Master Roshi?! THE legendary hero who defeated Demon King Piccolo!" The crowd erupted in disbelief, their voices buzzing with excitement.
"The hero, Master Roshi!" People shouted. "That explains why they're so strong!"
The announcer was beside himself, practically vibrating with excitement. "Master Roshi, the god of martial arts? I thought he stopped taking students years ago!"
Naruto grinned. "He's my Dad, so of course, he taught me. But he made a special exception for ChiChi and Krillin."
"Y-Your father?!" The announcer nearly dropped the microphone. "This is unbelievable! Not only do we have students of Master Roshi in the tournament, but also his son, Naruto!"
The crowd erupted again, their voices filled with awe and disbelief. Behind the scenes, Master Roshi, who was disguised as Jackie Chun, watched his students with a proud smile. However, nearby, Yamcha stood with his arms crossed, deep in thought.
He couldn't shake the suspicion. Turning to Jackie Chun, Yamcha whispered, "You're really Master Roshi, aren't you?"
Jackie Chun's face remained calm, though his eyes narrowed slightly. "What?"
"I've been watching closely. Your techniques... the way you carry yourself... and your... well, your pervy ways... you match Master Roshi exactly." Yamcha stepped closer, his eyes narrowing. "And that wig on your head. That's just a disguise, isn't it?"
Jackie Chun looked serious for a moment. "Well, I guess I have no choice... I must reveal the truth." He paused dramatically, and Yamcha leaned in closer. "I am Jackie Chun!" Yamcha nearly stumbled, taken aback by the nonchalant response.
"No way!" Yamcha exclaimed. "Your faces, the way you act—it's too similar! I'm certain you're Master Roshi!"
Before the conversation could continue, the announcer's voice interrupted. "Now, we will begin the first semi-final match between contestant Krillin and contestant Jackie Chun! Contestant Jackie Chun, please come to the arena!"
Jackie Chun quickly excused himself and made his way to the arena. Naruto and ChiChi returned to their seats, but Yamcha remained stubborn, his suspicions still gnawing at him.
"What's wrong, Yamcha?" Naruto asked, noticing his odd expression.
"I think Jackie Chun is Master Roshi, your dad," Yamcha said with conviction.
ChiChi looked at Yamcha, surprised. "I mean... I see the resemblance, but that doesn't mean…"
"Look," Yamcha interrupted, "I know he's your Dad, Naruto, but trust me on this. After the fight, I'm going to pull off that wig and reveal the truth!"
Naruto laughed lightly. "Alright, knock yourself out." ChiChi shrugged, unconvinced but curious.
….
As the match between Krillin and Jackie Chun kicked off, tension rippled through the crowd. The stadium buzzed with excitement as the announcer's voice boomed, signaling the start. Krillin and Jackie locked eyes, both wearing determined expressions.
"Ready or not, here I come!" Krillin shouted as he charged at Jackie with incredible speed. His fists flew, delivering a barrage of punches aimed at Jackie's head. Yet Jackie, despite his age, gracefully dodged each one with almost casual ease, barely moving as Krillin's fists went past his face. Jackie's calm demeanor was the opposite of Krillin's growing frustration.
With a grunt of frustration, Krillin jumped in the air and tried to hit Jackie with a spinning kick. Jackie crouched down and avoided it. Krillin started to become frustrated. He started to punch even faster. Suddenly Jackie caught his fist with an iron grip. Krillin tried to free his fist but he was unable to do so.
"You've got power behind those punches, not bad kid," Jackie complimented, his grip like steel. Krillin's eyes widened, feeling trapped, but with a quick burst of power, he managed to free himself, flipping backward to create distance.
Jackie smiled as he dusted off his hands. "Not bad," he said.
Krillin's heart raced, sweat dripping down his brow. He knew this was going to be tough, but Jackie's speed and skill were overwhelming.
"Now, I will test your speed." Jackie quickly appeared before Krillin and slapped Krillin on the forehead and Krillin was sent slamming onto the ring's wall.
"GHaaaa" Krillin slowly got up and touched his forehead. He saw his hand and saw blood on it. Then he looked at Jackie, "That attack, I didn't even see," he said. " How can I beat him if I can't see him?" Krillin was about to give up.
From the sidelines, Naruto's voice rang out, "Hey, Krillin! What are you doing?!" Naruto's words cut through Krillin's nervousness. He lifted his head, seeing Naruto's intense gaze locked on him. "Don't give up! You trained for this! You can do this!"
Beside Naruto, ChiChi shouted too, her eyes burning with determination. "You can see him, Krillin! Watch closely!"
Krillin blinked in confusion. 'See him? But he's so fast…' Yet, Naruto and ChiChi were right. He had trained hard for this moment, and deep down, he knew he had the strength to keep going.
As Jackie prepared for another strike, Krillin focused harder than ever before. His vision cleared, and for the first time, he could see Jackie's movements, fast but not invincible. His confidence reignited, Krillin grinned. "I can see him now."
The next exchange of blows came like lightning. The two fighters clashed, moving at speeds the crowd could barely follow. Only Naruto and ChiChi could keep up with their movements. The arena was hushed in awe, their eyes unable to keep pace. Both fighters clashed over and over again, and finally with a final blow against each other both martial artists came to a halt. Standing against each other, the young bald fighter looked more determined than ever.
"There, you see?! You can do it!" Naruto shouted, he smirked seeing the little guy fight against the odds.
Krillin grinned, blood trickling down his chin. "Yeah!" he responded, feeling the rush of confidence surge through his body.
'Very impressive.' Jackie thought.
"W-What was that j-just now?! We were completely unable to follow... " The announcer said, unable to believe his eyes.
"It's not common that anyone could keep up with my speed," Jackie commented.
"O-Of course I can! I am a student of Master Roshi, after all!" Krillin said proudly.
"Well then, how about this...?" Jackie said and both he and Krillin became blurred and clashed with each other. But this time Krillin got kicked in the face and he fell face-first on the ring. Jackie looked at Krillin's fallen from 'He won't get up this time'.
The crowd gasped as Krillin lay motionless on the ground. The announcer began the count, each number echoing through the stadium like a death knell. "1… 2… 3…"
Bulma and Oolong watched anxiously. "He's not getting up!"
Naruto clenched his fists. "Get up, Krillin!" he yelled. Beside him, ChiChi yelled for her fellow student to get up.
"6… 7… 8…"
Just as hope seemed to fade, Krillin's figure started to move up. The announcer's count reached nine, and Krillin instantly stood tall once more, wounded but defiant. The young fighter quickly got into his fighting stance and, without wasting any time, launched a swift attack on his opponent. The crowd roared in joy, their cheers filling the arena.
"You've got spirit," Jackie said, impressed by Krillin's skills. The old master was now taking things seriously. Their punches clashed, fist meeting fist, creating small shockwaves. Krillin used everything in his arsenal against his opponent, attacking from all angles and employing every tactic that came to mind.
Jackie watched as Krillin executed the Turtle Style to its finest, using every move and technique he had been taught with great skill. Jackie chuckled, "He took all of that, and was still able to get back up, huh? Apparently, he took his training seriously."
But as the fight wore on, it became clear that Jackie out-classed Krillin in every way. When Krillin, in a desperate gamble, distracted Jackie by throwing a pair of panties, the veteran fighter momentarily faltered, his face flushed in embarrassment. The distraction allowed Krillin to land a solid kick to Jackie's jaw, sending him sliding across the ring. The crowd went wild, their cheers deafening.
Panting heavily, Krillin turned to Naruto and ChiChi for advice, fear creeping into his voice. "Naruto! ChiChi! What should I do next?!"
"Win! That's all you can do!" ChiChi shouted, but her words were less than helpful, causing Krillin to sweatdrop.
"That's not an advice!" Krillin yelled back, his legs trembling beneath him. He was losing stamina very quickly and options.
But it was too late. Jackie had recovered from the surprise attack, and this time he wasn't going to give Krillin any more chances. With a swift and precise strike, Jackie appeared behind Krillin and delivered a karate chop to his neck. Krillin crumpled to the ground, unconscious before he even hit the floor.
The announcer's voice broke through the shock that settled over the crowd. "Contestant Krillin is down!" The count began again, but this time, there was no miracle recovery. As the announcer reached ten, he declared, "Contestant Jackie Chun wins and moves on to the final round!"
The stadium erupted in cheers for Jackie, who waved to the crowd, giving them a quick peace sign for their cheering.
Back in the waiting room, Krillin slowly opened his eyes to find Naruto, ChiChi, and Jackie standing over him. His head throbbed, but seeing his friends made him smile. "I'm okay," he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.
"You fought great, Krillin," Naruto said, clapping him on the back.
ChiChi nodded. "You really held your own out there."
But Yamcha's voice cut through the warm atmosphere as he pointed an accusing finger at Jackie. "I knew it! You're Master Roshi!"
Jackie groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Not this again," he muttered.
Yamcha wasn't backing down. "It's obvious! You fight just like him, and if that's not a wig…" He grabbed it and tried to rip it off only for Jackie to scream in pain from his hair being pulled.
"Let go!." The old man shouted at the former bandit "I am not Master Roshi!" Pushing him off him.
"I get it! That hair is real, and your usual bald look is a wig!" Yamcha came to that conclusion. Everyone sweatdropped at his stupidity. Jackie went far away from Yamcha.
Naruto sighed and rubbed the back of his head, exchanging glances with ChiChi. "Does anyone really go around wearing a bald wig all the time?" he asked in disbelief.
Yamcha crossed his arms, still suspicious. "I know what I saw."
Jackie just smiled. "Let's focus on the matches, shall we?" he said, walking off, leaving Yamcha grumbling to himself. Despite the tension, everyone shared a laugh, the excitement of the tournament far from over.
"May I have your attention, please? Now we will begin the second semi-final match! Contestant Naruto and Contestant ChiChi, please come forward!" The announcer said. Everyone was very excited to see them fight.
"Well, it's our turn now," Naruto said to ChiChi. She felt excited at the same time, a little nervous about facing her crush in the ring. But She had decided she would give her best, that was the only way she knew Naruto would recognize her as his wife material.
"ChiChi, do your best," Krillin, clueless about ChiChi's feelings, tried to cheer her up.
Being thankful towards her fellow student she gave him a confident smile. "Mm-hmm! I'll do my best! All right... " Naruto and ChiChi step towards the arena for their match. For ChiChi it was for her love while the young Saiyan already knew her power level and just wanted to test her skills, to see the results of her training under his Dad.
