JJ had finally joined the others after taking a few moments to gather her thoughts. Taking a deep breath she went out just as they were finishing up and made the decision to split up. Half of the team was heading to the hospital to talk to the distraught parents and work the scene while the others worked at the office gathering other information.
Hank was going to work the scene at the hospital but his team was hesitant about it. They already knew that he was having a hard time controlling his temper with the case, if he went back to where he lost his daughter could potentially send him over the edge.
"Hank, why don't you stay back with the others? We've got this" Antonio says a bit cautiously. They all knew how he got when he lost his temper. The last thing they needed was for him to lose his temper with the visiting agents.
"I'm in control to work the scene at the hospital. I won't lose my cool, my word is my bond" Hank tells him, his voice slightly hard and cold.
"Hank, really it's alright" Erin told him next. "You stay here"
"I'm going and that's final"
Nobody else had wanted to take the chance of talking him down of going to the hospital. The team that was going to go to the hospital were Hank, Rossi, Antonio, Emily, and Erin. The remaining others were going to stay at the District and try to find other cases like this.
JJ was staying quiet as she did her work, if Hank was already this angry she didn't wanna know or think of how he'd react when he finds out that his daughter was with her husband back in DC alive and healthy.
"Hey, JJ, you alright?" Spencer asked concerned. "You look distracted"
"Yeah, I'm good. Just have a lot to do before we do the press conference. Gotta be ready and prepared for it" She replied with a fake smile.
Spencer had read his friend like an open book. It was clear she was indeed hiding something and he will figure it out sooner or later. The blonde's phone went off with a text, she picked it up and read it.
"Hotch says Jacob did confess to abducting Jordan but doesn't know what happened to her after he was picked up. It also seems that Anna and Jacob had a history together so him kidnapping her daughter was a revenge play. They're gonna try again, if they can't get anything they're gonna fly out here to continue to work the case" JJ read the text from her phone. Well only half of it, she didn't read the other half that said, 'We need to talk'
When she saw those words, chills went through her body, if she had to guess Hotch knew or had figured out the truth about Jordan. Spencer kept looking at his blonde friend.
"JJ? Did Hotch say anything else?"
"No. Other than that he just wants us to focus on the case. I'll be right back I gotta check on the kids"
Before the genius could say anything she had taken off in the blink of an eye confusing everyone. Derek had followed after her.
"You're not checking on the kids are you?" He asked softly. "Something is bugging you JJ what is it? It started after we got the case. And don't say it's nothing because obviously it's something"
She stood there wiping her eyes so her makeup wouldn't run. So much for trying to lie to profilers. The blonde felt she wouldn't have kept this for too long from her team. They were the best of the best.
"JJ what is it?"
She turned to her teammate. "It's about Jordan. She's fine but, I strongly believe and probably already know but, Jordan is Anna and Sergeant Voight's daughter"
Chicago Med
The team of profilers and detectives walked through the hospital. Hank hated hospitals. It was no secret he hated them. His wife died in one when she had cancer, his daughter went missing in one. He only stepped in them for certain circumstances.
As he walked through the halls he was remembering back to when his daughter was born. He and Erin were going to talk to the distraught parents while the others worked the corridors and questioned other workers.
"Are you sure you can handle this? I can do this alone" Erin says softly, she was highly worried and concerned for her surrogate father.
"Erin, I said I'm fine, let's just work. Please"
The two went into the small hospital room.
