Chapter 6*
The transition to Earth life was a whirlwind of new experiences for the young ninjas. With Captain Picard's endorsement, they were enrolled in a special program at the Starfleet Academy's preparatory school for children who wished to one day become cadets and officers of starfleet. They were given the best education that the Federation had to offer, learning not just about history and science but also the art of diplomacy, ethics, and the intricacies of the galaxy's diverse cultures.
One day after a few months living on Earth with Kanami, the six children plus Jack and Molly were selected for a school trip to the Golana planet near Bajor, they arrived inside of a Nebula class ship the U.S.S – Honshu. With it's saucer section similar to the Galaxy Class one like the Enterprise-D, the young ones couldn't help nut marvel at it.
The captain of the ship, a kind Andorian female named Thy'lara, addressed the children in the briefing room. Her antennae twitched as she spoke, her voice a melodious blend of strength and warmth. "Young ones, today you will embark on a journey to experience the wonders of the galaxy. You will learn about the planet Golana and its Bajoran colony, and perhaps even make new friends."
Naruto's class, now known as a tight knit group composed of Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, Ino, Kiba Choji, Jack and Molly followed their teacher, Keiko O'Brien, down the corridors of the U.S.S. Honshu. Each child's heart raced with excitement and anticipation. The walls were just like the ones in the Farragut, and the gentle hum of the ship's engines filled their ears. They soon inside of the transporter room.
"We're ready to be beamed down lieutenant." Keiko O'Brien said with a smile, her hand resting on Naruto's shoulder. The transporter operator nodded, his eyes flickering with interest as he studied the group of children.
The transporter room was just like the one in the Farragut, and like many times already tthe use of a transporter wasn't anything new, as they beamed from the ship to the collony bellow. The transporter beam enveloped them in a warm, tingling embrace, and when it dissipated, they found themselves standing in the center of a bustling marketplace on Golana. The air was filled with the smell of exotic spices and the sounds of alien chatter. The children's eyes widened as they took in the vibrant colors of the stalls, each one offering goods from across the galaxy.
But it was the sight of a familiar face that truly caught their attention. Miles O'Brien, Molly's father, and Keiko's husband, stood in the middle of the marketplace, his arms laden with PADDs and tools, deep in conversation with a couple of Bajoran colonists. His eyes lit up when he saw the group of children approaching, and he set down his burdens to embrace them warmly. "Keiko told me you'd be coming," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "I've got something special to show you all."
"What is it dad?" Molly asked, her eyes wide with excitement as Miles O'Brien picked up his gear.
"You're all going to love this," Miles said, a twinkle in his eye. "Follow me."
He led them through the bustling marketplace, past a row of stalls with exotic fruits and shimmering fabrics, to a set of ancient ruins at the edge of the colony. The walls were covered in intricate carvings that told the story of a civilization long forgotten, and the air was thick with the scent of dust and history. The children's eyes lit up with wonder as they stepped onto the ancient stones, feeling like they had been transported back in time.
Miles O'Brien, an engineer by trade, had been working on a project to uncover the secrets of the ruins. He had discovered something that he believed would be of particular interest to the young ninjas. "Take a look at these," he said, pointing to a series of symbols etched into the wall.
Naruto stepped forward, his eyes scanning the ancient carvings. Inside of his seal, Kushina, Minato and Kurama were wide-eyed. The patterns and symbols on the wall had an uncanny resemblance to the early seals of the shinobi world. Minato projected the thought to touch a certain part of the symbols and channel his chakra to it; Kushina nodded, and Kurama growled in approval.
Naruto reached out tentatively, his fingertips brushing against the cool, dusty stone. He took a deep breath, focusing his chakra as he had been taught. His hand began to glow a faint blue, the same color as his parent's chakras. The symbols on the wall seemed to pulse in response, as if alive. He felt a strange pull, as if the very fabric of the universe was whispering secrets to him.
Miles O'Brien watched in astonishment as the wall before them began to shift and change, revealing a hidden chamber beyond. The children's gasps of amazement filled the air, their eyes glued to the scene unfolding before them. "What did you do?" He whispered, his voice filled with a mix of wonder and fear.
"I got this instinct that I have saw similar symbols before, and their eerie similar to my people's seals, their pretty much similar to an electronic board, but attuned to the bio-energy in our bodies." Naruto said with a grin, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
The chamber was dimly lit by glowing crystals embedded in the walls, casting an ethereal light that danced across the dust motes. The children looked around in awe, their eyes wide with wonder. The room was filled with ancient artifacts, some of which bore a striking resemblance to the weapons and tools they had seen in their history books.
Suddenly, the collums in the center of the chamber began to vibrate, the dust shaking off of them like leaves in a storm. The children watched in amazement as Miles scanned the walls, his tricorder beeping rapidly. "This is incredible," he murmured to himself.
But the moment was cut short when in the middle of the chamber, a vortex of energy appeared without warning. The ancient symbols on the wall pulsed with a rhythmic intensity, and the air grew thick with a palpable power that seemed to beckon them closer. Before anyone could react, the whirling portal grew wider, its edges stretching like a gaping maw. The children watched, frozen in awe as their teacher, Keiko O'Brien, and Miles exchanged panicked glances.
But before Molly's parents could do anything the wind picked up with a ferocity and sucked the children into the vortex before said vortex disappeared with a pop leaving Miles and Keiko bewildered. They had no idea where it had taken the children, only that it was a sign that the ancient technology was far more advanced than they had anticipated.
"O'brien to Major Kira there has been a emergency here in the ruins" Miles's voice was urgent as he called for help over his com-badge. Keiko looked at her husband, her heart racing as she tried to keep calm. They had to find their students and daughter, and fast or she will have to face an irate captain Picard for losing his only son.
The children stumbled out of the vortex, their eyes blinking as they adjusted to the sudden change in light. The marketplace was gone, replaced by the ruins of a once-great civilization. The air was thick with dust and the only sounds were the distant cries of unknown creatures and the whistle of the wind through the ancient stones. They had landed in the middle of an open area surrounded by ruins, with no sign of the colony they had just left.
"What happened?" Jack asked, his voice shaking as he looked around at the ancient ruins. But they seems to be newer and not quite that old, something was off.
"The walls and the rest of the ruins! Their not as run down by erosion as they were seconds ago, but that's impossible unless..." Shikamaru's voice trailed off as he stared in amazement.
"Unless what Shikamaru? Do you have any idea?" Molly asked, her eyes wide with fear.
"Time travel, it's the only think that I can think of, as not just the walls and collums seems to be a lot mor whole, but the trees and vegetation around are different. That points to a shift in time, and with everyone and everything gone in the blink of an eye, we're probably in the past, but the question is how many years in the past we are." Shikamaru deduced, his mind racing with the possibilities.
"Should we try to use our communicators?" Choji asked nervously, glancing around the unfamiliar surroundings.
Shikamaru shook his head. "It's too risky," he said, his eyes narrowed in thought. "The Cardassians might intercept the signal and come here before the Bajoran people."
"And forget about people from The Earth, because if we have traveled more then 200 years then there isn't a federation to come rescue us, and before the federation earlier vessels from The Earh were just Warp one vessels, and it would take them months if not years to get here from The Earth." Sakura added, her voice trembling.
"Okay guys, we're in a tight spot I admit, but we can survive and thrive untill Mr. O'Brien can open the portal again, as I'm sure that the little bit that he recorded will help him find a solution and open the path for us to return." Kiba said, trying to keep everyone calm.
"Which means that we might need to get a shelter and hunt for food until then. Let's remain together and explore the immediate are, see what we got to build a shelter, make a fire and what we can and can't eat." Ino spoke up, trying to keep everyone focused.
"Err... do you guys have anything to start a fire? As I do not know how to start one." Jack said nervously, his eyes scanning their surroundings for any sign of danger.
"I know how to make one using sticks" Naruto replied confidently, his mind racing with memories of his own survival in the streets of Konoha and it's surrounding area.
"But how do we know if we're safe here?" Molly asked, her eyes wide with fear. "What if we're not in the right time?"
"There are only the signs of how different the environment is around us, as none of us have any tricorder with us, and besides feel how cleaner and fresh the air is, there isn't any smell or smoke from a possible encampment or civilization, which means that we must be careful with what we eat, as we do not know what we can and can't eat" Shikamaru added, his voice laced with a hint of anxiety.
Molly nodded, her thoughts racing. "I know a few edible fruits that I learned from my mother, and she was very particular about what we could eat on our trips to Bajor, she taught me that these plants are edible," she said, pointing to a small patch of purple berries nearby.
The children spread out, their eyes scanning the landscape for any signs of life or danger. The ruins stretched out before them like a maze, each turn revealing a new wonder. As they explored, they stumbled upon a small stream, its water sparkling in the sun.
Naruto's sharp eyes caught sight of a few fallen branches and some large leaves that looked almost like palm fronds. "Guys, over here!" he called out, gesturing for his friends to gather around. "We can use these to build a shelter and start a fire."
"Good work man, now we need to find some vines to tie them together, we could use some of these plus the ruins columns to improvise a roof for the shelter"
Ino nodded, her eyes scanning the area, and within minutes she had found a thick cluster of vines hanging from an ancient tree. "These should work perfectly," she said, her voice filled with determination as she began to cut through the dense foliage by snapping them using her chakra to enhance her strength.
While Ino gathered the vines, Kiba took the lead in exploring the area further. His keen sense of smell and sharp instincts picked up on something different in the air—the scent of water. Following the scent, he stumbled upon a river, its gentle flow a stark contrast to the harshness of their new environment.
"Guys, I found water!" Kiba's voice echoed through the ruins, and the others quickly followed his call. They gathered around the riverbank, their faces reflecting a mix of relief and anxiety. "This will be perfect for our shelter," Sakura exclaimed, her mind racing with thoughts of purification and medical uses for the clean, clear water.
"We could use the river's mud banks and rocks to build the shelter's walls and create some mud pans, to boil and purify the water" Choji suggested, his eyes lighting up with the practicality of the idea.
The children nodded, their spirits buoyed by the promise of shelter and water. Working together, they began to gather materials, their young hands moving swiftly and decisively. The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows across the ruins as they worked tirelessly. They talked little, their focus on the task at hand, the bond between them growing stronger with every branch snapped and every stone placed.
That night, as they huddled around the warmth of their small fire, the mud pans they had made were arranged carefully nearby, drying out and hardening for future use. The smell of roasting berries filled the air, making their stomachs rumble with anticipation. As the last embers of the day gave way to the stars, a flicker of hope shone in Naruto's eyes as he fiddled with his com-badge.
He had found a way to tweak the device's settings, hoping to pick up any signal from their own time. The com-badge was a piece of Starfleet technology they were all familiar with, but they had no idea if it would work outside the established communications network. As the warmth of the fire baked the mud into solid forms, the device in his hand began to emit a faint sound besides static.
Naruto's heart raced as he recognized the pattern—it was faint so he put the device closer to jis ear and heard "...The COVID-19 Pandemic..." He couldn't believe it. The com-badge had somehow tuned into a broadcast from their original timeline, "COVID-19?" He mused aloud.
"Wait I heard about that from mom, it was one of the lasts pandemics that affected the Whole 21st century Earth." Jack spoke up, his voice filled with wonder.
"Which year was it?" Sakura asked, her curiosity piqued as she took a bite of the roasted berries, their sweetness a comfort in the face of their predicament.
"If I'm not mistaken, it was between the years 2019 and 2021, before a vaccine was distributed world wide and the disease got controlled by 2022 and 2023." Jack said trying to remember Earth's history
"We're around 50 Light years away from the Earth, that means that we're picking a 50 years old transmission so that would put us in the year range of 2069 to 2072, that's the evidence that we needed to know that we're in the past, 300 years in the past." Shikamaru said, his voice filled with awe as he calculated the time difference based on their current knowledge.
"So by hystory we're shortly after the first contact with the Vulcans" Molly said with a gasp, her eyes wide with excitement.
"And Earth's ships are still in warp one or less stage." Sakura said thinking about her recent history lessons.
"So rescue from Earth is out, we need to foccus in survive and thrive until our friends can re-open the time portal... hmm... These ruins... are chakra base tech, it will take some time but I'm sure that with time we can reactivate some of it and have better accommodations, and who knows, we might be able to reopen the portal from our side after learning how to set it up." Naruto said, his voice filled with excitement at the prospect of an adventure and a challenge.
That night as they huddle together around the fire to get to sleep, an event was happening from the inside of Naruko's seal. Minato finally finished adapting the seal, so he and his wife Kushina, could finally meet their son after all this time. They waited until he got to sleep, before pulling him into his mindscape.
The seal shimmered as the chakra barrier around him weakened and they stepped into the whirlwind of emotions that was Naruto's subconscious. The world around them was a mix of the familiar and the surreal, a blend of the serene forests of Konoha and the gleaming metal corridors of the Enterprise.
Kushina took a deep breath, her eyes scanning the surroundings. "It's so... vivid," she murmured, her voice filled with wonder. Minato nodded, his gaze searching for their son.
As they approached the center of the mindscape, they saw him, standing tall with his eyes closed, surrounded by a gentle glow of chakra. The sight of him filled them with a mix of pride and sorrow. Proud of the strong and resilient young man he had become, but sorrowful for the life he had been forced to live without them.
"Naruto," Minato called out softly, his voice echoing through the landscape.
As the glow faded and he opened his eyes, he became surprised to find himself in an unknown place, whith bits and pieces of both Konoha and a starfleet vessel, and an unknown couple stand before him. A beautiful blue eyed redhead woman and the same man from his dreams with the tri-pronged kunai.
"Naruto-kun," Kushina said, her voice trembling with emotion.
"Who are you and where am I? Is this a malfunctioning holodeck?" Naruto asked, his eyes wide with confusion and a hint of fear.
The couple exchanged a sad smile, knowing they had to explain themselves carefully.
"No Naruto this isn't a Holodeck, but this place could be interpreted as such, but it's existence is within the mind. Like... What was it called... Ah! A virtual holodeck made in your mind." Minato tried to explain gently as he stepped closer to his son.
Naruto's eyes searched their faces, looking for any hint of deceit. "But who are you?" he asked again, his voice shaking.
"We... We're the mind pattern... A copy of two mind pattern that was left in a seal on your body." Kushina said before remembering that he do not know what a seal is, so she started to explain. "You might not know this but in our world we have something akin to circuitry, but a special ink is used instead of components. The effects are similar to electronics circuitry, and in this case, the... Tattoo in your belly works like a buffer, storing three mind patterns, mine, Minato and Kurama."
Naruto looked at them, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. "But why are you here now? And what do you want from me?"
Minato took a deep breath, his gaze softening as he looked at his son. "We're here because we finally found a way to connect with your mind," he said, his voice gentle. "We've been watching you from the moment you were born, but we couldn't communicate with you directly because the seal that contains us is complex. It wasn't until you started to show signs of mastering your chakra that we were able to find a way to reach out to you."
Kushina stepped forward, her hand reaching out to touch her son's cheek. The warmth of her touch was real, even in this mental plane. "We are your parents, Naruto," she whispered. "We're the ones who gave you life, who hoped and dreamed for you even when we couldn't be by your side."
Naruto's eyes grew even wider, his heart racing. Could it be true? Could these strangers, these ghosts from another world, be the mother and father he had never known? The hope that had been buried so deep within him for so long began to unfurl, like a leaf reaching for the sun after a long winter.
"How... Is ... Is this... Real?" Naruto's voice was barely a whisper, his hand reaching up to touch Kushina's outstretched one. The moment their fingers met, a surge of warmth and love filled him, something he hadn't felt since he was a baby.
"As real as the chakra that flows within you," Minato assured him, his eyes brimming with tears. "We're here to help you understand your heritage, to train you, and to be with you, even if it's just in your thoughts."
Kushina's expression grew solemn, and she took a step closer to Naruto. "But there's something you need to know, sweetheart," she said, her voice filled with a sadness that washed over the mindscape like a gentle rain. "Our time here is limited. The seal that holds us is weakening, and we have only a decade before we fade away."
Naruto's eyes widened in shock. "A decade?" He repeated, his voice hollow. "What does that mean?"
"This seal that holds our minds patters can't keep us here forever, it power is being drained slowly and in ten years, it will be unable to sustain us." Minato said, his eyes reflecting the sadness in his heart.
The news hit Naruto like a meteor, shattering the happiness that had just been born. "No, you can't leave me again," he whispered, his eyes welling up with tears.
Kushina's eyes filled with tears too as she watched her son's heart break. She stepped closer, her arms wrapping around him in a fierce hug. "We won't leave you," she said, her voice trembling. "We're with you always, in every sunrise and sunset, every victory and defeat. We're a part of you, just as your chakra is."
"Unfortunately we no longer have physical bodies, meaning we're dead and are here on borrowed time. Son do not attempt to materialize us in the real world, whatever body you may find to hold our minds won't have chakra, and that is a death sentence to people like us." Minato explained, his voice filled with a gentle sadness.
Naruto nodded, his eyes swimming with unshed tears. He looked up at them, his heart heavy but his resolve firm. "Then I won't waste the time we have," he said, his voice steady. "But who is this... Kurama?"
Minato and Kushina shared a look, their expressions filled with both pride and caution. "Kurama is... special," Kushina began, her hand still resting gently on his shoulder. "He's a Tailed Beast, a creature of immense power and wisdom, sealed within you for protection. But he's also your teammate and friend."
Naruto's eyes widened further at the mention of the beast. "A... a beast?" he stuttered, his imagination running wild with the possibilities of what that could mean.
A towering fox with nine tails approach them, its fiery red chakra was almost blinding. "Kurama," Minato said with a hint of warning in his tone.
Kurama chuckled, a sound that echoed through the mindscape, his crimson eyes gleaming with mischief. "Ah, so you've finally figured out how to get this whelp's attention," he said, his voice deep and resonant.
Naruto took a step back, his eyes fixed on the towering creature before him. "You... you're Kurama?"
With a wink of an eye, the nine-tailed fox's form began to shift, the fiery red chakra coalescing into a human figure. The transformation was seamless, leaving in its wake a tall, handsome woman with piercing crimson eyes and flowing red hair. She wore an elegant kimono, the same color as her chakra, that billowed around her in an ethereal dance as she moved closer to the trio.
"Since when you do have a gender dattebane?!" Kushina exclaimed, her eyes wide with astonishment.
"Technically I don't, but until young Naruto here, all of my hosts were female, so that was the only template that I had to create this form. If you pay attention Kushina you will see that I am a mix of your's and Mito's shape." Kurama said with a smirk, her eyes glinting with mirth.
Naruto blinked, trying to process this revelation. A creature of such power, sharing his body with him, and now, appearing as a beautiful woman. It was too much to take in at once.
In the next morning Naruto relayed to his friends what he discovered during the night, and his talk with his parents. The group looked at each other in shock and amazement, especially when he talked about the decade time limit. Ino's eyes lit up with excitement at the thought of a nine-tailed fox, while Kiba was more cautious, his mind racing with the implications of such a powerful creature being a part of their friend.
"Wait... Perhaps the mind patterns of your parents can help us figure out these ruins tech" Jack suggested, his mind racing with the possibilities. "If they know about chakra, they might know something about these ancient artifacts."
'Tell your friends that the chakra tech in the walls are similar to ours, but slightly different, like comparing Earth's and Vulcan's tech' Naruto heard his mother's voice in his mind.
"Jack, mom heard you and wish to tell you that from what she saw, the tech on these ruins and her knowledge is pretty much like Vulcan's and Earth's tech, even though they are similar, but there are significant differences." Naruto conveyed his mother's message to the group.
Jack's eyes lit up with excitement. "That's incredible, if we can understand and integrate their knowledge, it could change everything we know about interdimensional travel!" He exclaimed, already planning out his next steps.
'Son tell your friends that we will teach everyone what we know of chakra use, ninjutsu, kenjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, survival in the wilderness, even limited forgering and crafting as you will need tools to build a home for all of you all.' Naruto heard his father's voice in his head, and nodded solemnly before sharing the message with the group.
"But neither Jack nor I can use chakra." Molly countered, her voice filled with a hint of doubt.
'Tell the girl and the other boy, that there is a way to share chakra, and for them to develop their own pool of chakra, and I will teach you how to do it.' Naruto heard the voice of Kurama in his head, and he turned to Molly and Jack with a hopeful smile. "Kurama says that there is a way for both of you to develop chakra, and we're going to learn how to share it, and use it together."
Molly and Jack looked at each other with a mix of skepticism and excitement. "Really?" Molly asked, her voice filled with wonder.
Naruto following Kurama instruction, put a hand over Molly's belly and started to channel pure chakra into her body. The process was slow and meticulous, as not to overwhelm her. Molly felt a strange warmth spread through her, something she had never felt before. Her eyes grew wide as she felt the energy flow into her, and she gasped as she realized she could feel the power within her.
"It will take time and daily sessions but both you and Jack will be able to train with us when we're not busy building tools and our house here. We do not know when we will return to our time, but we will, until then we train our bodies, our mind, build tools, a house, utensils, cultivate crops and medicinal plants, as well as study and understand these ruins tech." Naruto said with a firm nod to Molly and Jack.
Ten years passed, and the children grew into young adults, their bodies sculpted by hard work and rigorous training. The boys had developed into figures reminiscent of ancient Greek statues, with muscles that rippled under the sun, their skin a testament to a life of physical exertion and combat. Kiba and Shikamaru had become as lithe as the shadows they once feared, while Choji had grown into a tower of strength, though his body remained broad and robust.
The girls had blossomed into beauty, with long flowing hair that shone in the light of the alien suns. Sakura's hair was a pinkish hue, reminiscent of the cherry blossoms from their lost world, and Ino's a golden blonde that shimmered like the stardust that surrounded them. They had learned to hunt and farm, their skills with their newfound chakra enhancing their survival instincts. Their clothing, crafted from the hides of the creatures they had tamed and hunted, was both practical and elegant, a testament to their resilience and ingenuity.
Molly have becoming the spitting image of her mother, but with a more lean and athletic body, her light brown hair had grown down to her waist and was often braided in intricate styles that she had learned from Ino. Her eyes had the sharpness of a hawk, a clear sign of her years of honing her senses in the wilderness. Jack, on the other hand, had developed into a young man of quiet strength and intelligence, his curiosity and love for exploration had not waned, and he often could be found with his nose buried in a leather scroll or tinkering in the workshop.
The day Naruto finally managed to reactivate the time portal was one of jubilation. The air was thick with excitement and anticipation as the group gathered around the ancient mechanism, their eyes reflecting the pulsing light of the gateway. The device hummed to life, its glow intensifying as the young ninjas approached, each one feeling a mix of excitement and fear.
Sakura kissed Naruto fondly on the lips in happiness, before she join the others in gathering their belongins and head for the portal. Her pink hair fluttered behind her as she dashed, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
As they approached the glowing gateway, Jack looked over at Molly, a question in his eyes. "Are you ready for this?"
"Yes beloved, I am." Molly entwined her arms with Jack's, her heart pounding in her chest as the gateway's luminescence grew brighter.
"Guys we need to hurry, as the portal will remain open for a minute only." Naruto warned, his eyes focused on the pulsing light as he and his friends gathered their most precious items from the last decade.
"JUMP IN NOW!" Naruto yelled over the growing crescendo of the portal's power, his eyes shining with excitement and a hint of anxiety. One by one, his friends took a step forward, their hearts pounding in sync with the rhythm of the whirring gateway.
With Miles, Keiko Kira and a few other archeologists it has been ten minutes since the children where swallowed by the portal. They were all frantically trying to reactivate the portal, fearing for the safety of the children. Keiko watched her daughter Molly disappear into the swirling mass of light and she hadn't seen him since, she felt like a part of her soul was torn away from her.
Then suddenly the portal reactivated, and the children reappeared, but now they weren't children anymore. The light from the gateway enveloped them, and when it faded, the adults saw eight young adults standing before them, their eyes filled with a wisdom that belied their age. Five young men and three slghtly pregnant women, their faces a mix of excitement and trepidation.
Keiko's eyes went wide as she stared at the young woman standing next to the young man with spiky blond hair. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized the girl was a perfect replica of herself, except for the light brown hair. "M-Molly?" She stammered, her hand reaching out instinctively.
"MOM!" Molly's voice was filled with a decade's worth of joy and relief as she broke free from the group and sprinted towards her mother. Keiko's eyes filled with tears as she saw the young woman who looked so much like herself, the spitting image of what she had hoped her daughter would become.
Bashir stepped forward, his medical tricorder in hand. The device scanned Molly from head to toe, confirming her identity with a beep of affirmation. "It's her," he murmured, his voice filled with amazement. "Her DNA matches perfectly... Congratulation Miles you are a grandfather now."
"WHO DEFILED MY LITTLE GIRL?!" Miles bellowed, his usually calm demeanor shattered by a storm of fury as he saw his daughter, no longer the child he knew, but a woman with a child growing within her. His eyes searched the group for answers, but the young adults before him remained silent, their expressions a mix of guilt and anticipation.
That was until Jack Crusher, the son of Captain Picard and Beverly Crusher raised his hand to calm Miles down. "Sir, I know this is hard to understand, but we've had spent ten years in the past, we've grown, we've learned, we've loved and we've lost. Molly is not just your daughter anymore, she is a woman now, and she's made her choices, and she's happy."
Miles took a deep breath, his hand shaking as he looked at Molly, who was holding onto Jack's arm with a gentle smile, her eyes pleading for understanding. "I know Jack," he said finally, his voice gruff. "It's just... I didn't expect to see her like this... Though you will take responsability for your actions, so I expect to see you both married as soon as we got back to Deep Space 9."
Jack quickly agreed, his eyes never leaving Molly's. "We will, sir," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "We've already had our own ceremony in the ruins, but we'd be honored to do it again, properly."
Bashir, who had been quietly observing, stepped forward with his tricorder. "Miles, if I may?" he asked, and Miles nodded, his expression a mix of shock and anger. Bashir scanned each of the young women, his eyebrows shooting up as the data scrolled across the device's display.
"I must admit, this is quite extraordinary," Bashir began, his voice measured. "All three of your friends, Ino, Sakura, and your daughter, Molly, are indeed pregnant, approximately three months along."
Choji's face split into a wide, proud grin. He looked over at Ino, her hand resting gently on her belly, and felt his heart swell with love and pride. In the last decade, they had faced countless challenges together, and now, they were about to embark on the most profound journey of all—parenthood.
Sakura laid her head on Naruto's shoulder, her eyes closed as she felt the baby kick inside her. The joy and fear that had filled her over the past months were a constant presence, but now, as she felt the warmth of her friends around her, she knew she could face whatever the future held.
Naruto spotted their small village place with a few equipment on top of his storage seals painted on the floor and requested the area to be cleared of objects that could be harmed by the incoming displacement. His friends nodded solemnly, understanding the gravity of the situation.
With a deep breath, he touched the border of the painting, his chakra surging through his fingertips. A poof of smoke erupted, and within seconds, the painted landscape grew into a tangible, three-dimensional structure. The room was filled with amazement as a small village with three buildings and a water tower made of clay materialized before their eyes.
The starfleet personnel and Bajoran archaeologists stumbled backward, their mouths agape. They had read about ancient civilizations using such methods of teleportation in historical records, but to witness it firsthand was a sight that defied their understanding of reality. The structures looked as if they had been plucked straight from the past, yet they were firm and solid underfoot.
"Before you ask this isn't teleportation per see, but use part of the principle, as it converted matter into energy, and said energy was recorded in the seal, which here it was the painting on the floor. It's like storaging things inside of a pocket dimension, and the seal is the door. So Everything that we made and couldn't bring on hand was stored here." Naruto explained to the stunned adults, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
The group stepped into the small village, the reality of their situation sinking in. The buildings were small but functional, with simple furnishings that had been crafted by hand. The water tower stood tall, a symbol of their ingenuity and survival instincts.
"How did you do this?" Miles asked, his voice filled with wonder as he touched the clay walls, feeling the warmth of the sun-baked material beneath his fingertips.
"We had to learn," Kiba spoke up, his eyes scanning the horizon. "Survival was our academy. The ruins taught us much about many things, but the environment taught us even more."
"Dad... I... I'm a warrior now, I have had to learn how to fight with my bare hands as well as this" Molly said as she took a knife like blade from the back of her leather skirt, "It's a mix between a wakizashi and a kunai, we made it ourselves."
"What sort of metal are they made off? I don't remember the geologist guys ever mentioning metal ores in the area" One of the archeologists spoke up, holding up one of the blades, examining it closely.
"many months of trial and error using sediments in the river, until we started to notice that a few started to melt in our mud made pans, I think that we took almost 4 or five years until we made our first metal ingot. After that it was easier to make more, and our blades." Shikamaru said with a proud smile, his eyes never leaving the gleaming metal in the archeologist's hand.
Kiba nodded in agreement, his hand reaching back to touch the pommel of the sword at his waist, made from the same material. "It's crude, but it serves us well."
"Do you still have some of those ingots left?" Miles asked intrigued, his eyes scanning the room for any signs of their metalworking.
Kiba nodded and disappeared into one of the huts, emerging moments later with an ingot that was between the color of beige and gray. "This is the metal we discovered and learned to work with." He said as he handed it over to Miles. The metal was heavy in the older man's hand, and he turned it over, examining the unfamiliar alloy.
Miles's eyes widened as he took out a scanning device from his pocket, "This is... This is something we've never seen before!" He said with astonishment. "The properties are similar to duranium, but lighter, and not quite as resistant, but still as strong as titanium!" The room buzzed with excitement as the implications of their discovery became clear.
"I dare say that the children unkowingly may have created a new alloy from the river minerals." Another archaeologist said, taking the ingot from Miles and scanning it with her tricorder. "The implications of such a discovery could revolutionize Starfleet technology!"
Miles nodded, his mind racing with the potential applications. "We need to bring this to the attention of the Council of Engineers. This could be a game-changer for Starfleet's resources."
"But, Miles," Keiko cautioned, "Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's a significant discovery, yes, but we must be careful not to raise false hopes. There are so many variables to consider, and we're in the early stages of understanding."
Miles nodded, her words grounding him. "You're right, Keiko. This is just the first step. We need to analyze it thoroughly, understand its properties, and ensure it's safe to use." He took a deep breath, looking back at the children. "But it's a remarkable first step, indeed."
Bashir couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Molly and Jack, holding hands tightly as they watched their world unfold before them. He leaned in to Miles, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Just imagine Captain Picard's face when he hears the news," he whispered, half joking. "A grandfather in the most unconventional way possible."
Both Miles and Keiko paled at Bashir's words, the reality of the situation sinking in. Captain Picard had always been a stoic and composed leader, but this news would surely knock him off his pedestal. Miles chuckled nervously, picturing the captain's reaction. "Yes, indeed, Julian. I can see him raising an eyebrow at the sheer absurdity of it all," he murmured, trying to imagine the legendary captain's response to such a revelation.
"While Picard is indeed worrisome, I'm more worryed about Beverly reaction, as she is Jack's mother" Keiko said with a hint of a smile, the tension in the room lifting slightly at the thought of the doctor's reaction.
The young adults looked at each other, a silent understanding passing between them. They knew that their life was about to change again, but this time, they had each other, and the support of the Starfleet.
"Alright, everyone," Kira said, her voice firm yet filled with a hint of warmth. "As amazing as this all is, we need to get you all registered and sorted out. You've missed a decade of schooling, and there's a lot of catching up to do."
"About our education... The same way that these symbols on the walls are a kind of electronics, this ... tatoo in my belly is similar to them, in it the ... memories of my parents were stored, it's not as advanced as current society, but it granted us a boon in the form of martial arts skills, math, mechanical physics, metallurgy, reading and writing. We're not masters or scholars by a long shot, but it served us well." Naruto explained, pointing at the tattoo like patterns on his belly that glowed faintly.
Kira nodded thoughtfully, taking in the information. "We'll arrange for you to meet with the best tutors at the academy. You'll need to catch up on history, politics, and technology, but it seems your survival skills are unmatched."
Miles stepped forward, a gentle smile on his face. "And I'd be more than happy to help you with more advanced physics and mathematical lessons. I've always had a soft spot for unconventional education methods, and your experiences here could provide a unique perspective on the subjects."
Keiko looked at them with a warm expression. "As for me, I'd love to share my knowledge of plant life with you all. We can start with the basics and move on to the complexities of botany. After all, understanding the natural world is crucial, no matter where you come from."
"hey I've managed to create a small crop field, but as I knew that they wouldn't survive centuries without proper care, I've brought some seeds from the crops" Ino said handing over a leather bag to Keiko.
Keiko took the bag with trembling hands, her curiosity piqued. As she spilled the contents onto her palm, she gasped at the sight of the seeds. "These... these are from a kind of plants that have been extinct for a century and a half!" She said, her voice filled with astonishment. "How on earth did you manage to get these?"
"They might be extinct now, but not three hundred years ago. You see on our first night Naruto com-badge miraculously managed to pick an transmission from The Earth ... from the 21st century when there was a pandemic running on the planet."
Miles's eyes narrowed as he took the seeds from Keiko's hand. "The 21st century? Could you elaborate on that?"
"Radio transmissions from primitive Earth can travel much further then visual transmissions from that time without terrible loss, and we're roughly 50 light years from The Earth, so it was easy to do the math and roughly estimate that we end up in the year 2070, give or take oune year or two, but well within the range of three centuries in the past, we caught transmissions from Bajor, Cardassia, Vulcan and a few others in the following years." Shikamaru said as he took out a bag containing eight worn out com-badges. "I do not know how much these have recorded, but we often tried to use it as diaries and journals."
Miles took the bag, his curiosity piqued. Each com-badge could hold a vast amount of data if used sparingly. The historical and cultural insights they could provide would be invaluable. "We must get these analyzed immediately," he said, turning to Bashir. "This could provide a window into the past we've never had before."
The archaeologists were literally drooling at the historical data and were eager to learn what was stored on the badges. Bashir took the bag, his eyes gleaming with scientific excitement. "We'll need to handle these with care," he said, placing them in a protective container. "The information on these badges could be priceless."
"Leave it to us doctor, we'll handle them with the ultimate care, and will catalog the data inside of them." A female Caitian lieutenant said, taking the container with the com-badges. Her fur ruffled slightly with excitement.
"Kids, I'm Pul' Mya-Ra, but you can call me Pulmira as it will be easier for pronunciation, for what is worth, whatever you recorded and manage to record from transmissions from that era, it will be a great insight for the the federation science and historical department, and may give you or help you when you truly get to the academy."
"Thank you, Pulmira," Sakura said, her voice filled with relief and hope. "We've tried to be careful with them, knowing their importance. But we had to prioritize survival over documentation."
"I understand," Pulmira nodded sympathetically. "Now, let's get you all some proper food and rest. You've been through a lot, and I'm sure you have many questions about the world you're returning to."
"Er... I know that you guys want to study and record everything about this place, but... can we return often to our home here? Use it like a vacation spot or a shore leave place to come and rest?" Naruto asked hesitantly, looking around the room. The adults shared a knowing glance, understanding the emotional attachment the children had formed with their makeshift home.
"I will take your request to the colony government, but I do not see a problem, as you have spent ten years in here, so you might be granted citizenship of the colony andhave your house and nearby buildings and land be given to you." Kira said with a warm smile.
