Hi, I'm back, I hope. My mind's just been a little bit crazy lately in trying to finish these stories. But I hope this one is good. The gym might be in the next chapter.

...

Brooklyn trudged through the woods for a while, trying to find the next gym which was in Celadon City that seemed very far away. He wiped his forehead, adjusting his bag which gained a bit more weight with his new Eevee egg. He wondered now if it would ever hatch so he can put it into a Pokeball.

Some time later he heard water coming from a stream, deciding to sit down and fill up his canteen again, unaware he was being watched from the bushes and let some of his Pokémon out.

Charmander hopped about, smiling up at him "Char!" He squeaked while Sandshrew gave a little chitter. Brooklyn grinned. Besides Rosa, at the moment his Pokémon were his only traveling companions, hoping he can eventually gain some more company. But who would even want to travel with him?

He pulled out the egg, holding it for a while in his lap as the red gargoyle drank some of his water, petting the egg. "Well, little guy, I hope you aren't too uncomfortable in my bag. But I need to find some way to keep you warm. My wings could possibly help but you might need the warmth of another Pokémon to do the trick." He muttered, Charmander tilting his head. If he were a female he would gladly lay with the egg. But that was a female's job, not a male's.

There was a sudden rustle in the bushes however. Brooklyn tensed up from the sound, his ears perked. There was possible wild Pokémon in the area so he had to be really careful, holding the egg gently, not wanting it to be stolen.

His eyes noted a pair of red ones peeking out from the bushes, Brooklyn freezing up at the sight. "W-Whoever you are, show yourself! If you're Team Rocket, get ready for another beating!" The young gargoyle snapped until to his surprise; a pair of seemingly living vines shot themselves out of the bushes, knocking the egg out of his talons. "Ah! Hey!" Brooklyn yelped, rubbing his hands.

A blurred green thing jumped out next, tackling Brooklyn onto his side. "Bulbasaur!" Shouted the attacker. Brooklyn rubbed his aching head, turning around to find the most shocking sight; a strange Pokémon with a bulb on its back was using its vine tentacles to hold the Eevee egg, glaring at him and pawing the ground.

Brooklyn folded his wings, holding out his hand while his other Pokémon stood in defense positions. "Hey, uh, you wouldn't mind giving that back, would you? What Pokemon are you anyway?" Brooklyn took out his Pokédex, holding it up in front of the green one.

"Bulbasaur, it bears the seed of a plant on its back from birth. The seed slowly developes. Researchers are unsure whether to classify Bulbasaur as a plant or an animal. Bulbasaur are extremely difficult to catch in the wild." His Pokédex read aloud.

Brooklyn tilted his head, from the way the Bulbasaur was behaving, it sure wasn't acting like a plant to him if it was protective of the egg. Bulbasaur growled, as Brooklyn spoke again. "Uh, just wanna ask; are you a boy?"

The Bulbasaur backed away from Brooklyn, continuing to hold the egg to itself, making Brooklyn hold his hand up in surrender. "Ok, I'm sorry. A girl then. But can I please have the egg back? A friend gave it to me after I rescued it from Team Rocket."

But unfortunately the Bulbasaur doesn't seem to understand, growling more until Charmander got his flames ready. "Char...mander!" He snapped, demanding the Bulbasaur to hand the Eevee egg to them but Brooklyn held him back. "No buddy. I gotta make a deal with this one to find some common ground."

Brooklyn then had a determined look on his beak, looking over to Charmander. "So bud, you ready to take her on, show her what you're made of and get our egg back?"

That made Charmander grin back at his trainer, nodding once. "Char char!" He stepped out to face Bulbasaur who put the egg to the side on some leaves to protect it from the battle, circling her opponent.

Thinking hard, Brooklyn wondered what would be a good move to use first against Bulbasaur. Then he decided on Tackle first to try stunning it before using Flamethrower. "Charmander, Tackle!"

Charmander ran forward, wanting to hit Bulbasaur hard but Bulbasaur easily dodged, using her Vine Whip to ensnare Charmander, making the fire Pokémon's eyes round. Bulbasaur smirked, throwing Charmander against a tree that caused the smaller Pokemon to grunt in pain, looking stunned for a brief moment but not for long as it was back on his feet, readying himself for another Tackle. This time he dodged many of Bulbasaur's Vine Whips, finally ramming his side into Bulbasaur, knocking the Grass Pokemon off its feet. Bulbasaur lets out a yelp from it, Brooklyn feeling rather proud of how far his Charmander had come since he was now on level 7.

"Great going bud! Now use Flamethrower!" Brooklyn encouraged, Charmander charging up his fire, Bulbasaur hardly having any time to react when Charmander shot its big wave of flame, throwing Bulbasaur further back, now having its own turn to smack against another tree, its eyes rather dizzy and face all blackened. Brooklyn quickly pulled out his Pokeball, not wanting to miss this one though he knew it would get instantly sent over to Oak's. He didn't mind however, as long as Bulbasaur was his.

He tossed the Pokeball. "Pokeball, go!" The red ball flew through the air, hitting against Bulbasaur, shooting out a red beam that caught her and pulled her into it, the ball falling down to the ground then. Brooklyn watched in anticipation, hoping he really actually caught Bulbasaur. After a few seconds; eventually the ball stopped shaking, a low ding sounding. He had done it!

The red gargoyle felt more triumphant than ever and ready to tackle his next gym, holding up the Pokeball, Charmander and Squirtle near him. "Yeah! I caught Bulbasaur! I now have all the Kanto starters!" Brooklyn cheered, also picking up his precious Eevee egg, ensuring it didn't have any scratches, seeing the Pokeball in his hand eventually disappearing. Maybe he can eventually have Professor Oak switch out either Sandshrew or Vulpix for his Bulbasaur for the next Gym battle where he would get his Rainbow Badge. Brooklyn inside felt like it was taking forever to finish his journey but he knew that as long as he had his friends, he would one day see his clan again.

Straddling his bag after calling his Pokemon back, Brooklyn continued on after checking his map for Celadon City, running as fast as he could to get there on time and register for the next challenge.

...

Lately my mind has been messing with me, making me believe I didn't have any friends and that they only liked me for my writing but not for who I'm like when I'm not writing at all. I just hope my friends are still on here enjoying this story.

These thoughts have been giving me writer's block too.
