Hi, so no gym yet but in this one we'll see more of Brooklyn's Pokémon's personalities when he gets sick.
...
Still stuck in the Celadon forest, Brooklyn kept up his traveling as much as he could, wanting to get there quickly but forgetting once in a while to rest. Plus it had been raining for weeks on end which soaked through Brooklyn's hair, making him shudder a little but straddled his bag, not even wanting to turn to stone.
Brooklyn sniffled then sneezed, looking up at the sky, wishing for it to stop raining but figured that probably wouldn't happen anytime soon, suddenly spotting an abandoned shed. A little smile came on his face, staggering a little to get there, going to be glad to be dry for once. He eventually reached the shed, peeking inside it first to make sure there was nobody inside.
So far he couldn't see anything with the occasional Rattata and such but nothing too dangerous, making Brooklyn sigh in relief but eventually sneezed with a small cough, his throat slowly beginning to sting. Shaking himself dry as much as he could Brooklyn gently pushed the door open, hardly seeing any soft bedding to sit on but Brooklyn at the moment didn't really care; too tired to think about anything right now as he slumped against the wall, his loincloth still rather damp that made him shiver.
The red gargoyle now felt like he shouldn't have travelled so much, deciding to pull out his Eevee egg and rubbed it gently, along with taking out Charmander who looked up at him. "Char?"
Brooklyn grins weakly at his friend. "Hey bud. We're just stopping for a bit. I-I kinda don't really feel very good." He said in a croaky way. Charmander himself could see that his trainer was rather pale, his skin wasn't as red as it used to be. He had sensed recently the travel strain from the gargoyle.
Charmander walked up gently, nuzzling him. "Char?" He squeaked, Brooklyn figuring he was asking if he was hungry. Brook shook his head. "Not hungry, no..." Brooklyn mumbled, his nose so stuffy, leaning down against the wall, wishing to have a blanket, keeping the egg close to his body. He wouldn't let the Eevee go, not even in sickness.
Feeling rather panicked now, Charmander knew he had to do something, realizing that Brooklyn had gotten a rather bad cold hence him not even using his band to turn to stone like he usually did. This was bad. When a loud boom of thunder struck it startled Brooklyn awake, his eyes now a little red from the cold, wrapping himself with his wings and shaking even further, hoping to sleep this cold off. Charmander gave a little coo, stroking his trainer's arm with his little hand then eventually finding the Pokémon in his bag that could help.
He summoned; Spearow, Squirtle and Sandshrew, three Pokémon that Charmander figured could help in this situation, Spearow looking at him in her usual irritated manner. "What did you even call us out for? Our trainer is obviously still asleep!" She squawked, flapping her wings.
Charmander folded his arms. "Can't you see? He's more than tired, he's sick! Brooklyn over travelled and now we probably won't be getting to the next gym in a few days!" He snapped, Squirtle raising his hands, trying to calm him down. "Whoa, easy, I-I'm kinda worried about my trainer too. But what can we do? We aren't Nurse Joy!" He asked, looking to Sandshrew and Spearow.
Leaning comfortingly against Brooklyn who squirmed lightly in his sleep, Charmander looked to Spearow. "Can you find some kind of blanket or at least big leaves for him to sleep with? And Sandshrew, you can find something edible not insects for Brooklyn. And Squirtle you can make water for him to drink if he needs it."
Spearow nods her head, raising her wings and taking off. "I'll be back!" She caws, Sandshrew saluting and going out to find at least healthy berries. Charmander remained, taking a hold of his trainer's hand, hoping his cold won't get worse as Brooklyn gave another soft groan, watching his Pokémon in a sleepy way, wondering if they could be talking to each other.
...
In the air Spearow flew around, wanting desperately to find a blanket for Brooklyn. It took her several minutes almost up to an hour flying through the trees, the rain pelting down on her until to her surprise, it suddenly stopped.
Well, at least the blanket wherever it is will hopefully be dry now. Wait, what's that?Spearow thought, spotting what looked like a brown gray blanket covering something on the ground, and she flew down, hearing a sound of snoring. She tried grabbing the blanket until whatever was snoring used his hand and grasped it, making her chitter in rage, yanking. She now knew that it was a large Snorlax that had taken use of the blanket. She then wound up pecking his hand. Even though Snorlax is usually a heavy sleeper he could be woken lightly by the pecking of a Spearow.
Snorlax opened its eyes, seeing the Spearow above him. "Please, let me have the blanket. I have a sick friend who is having a hard time eating and keeping warm. And I need this!" She gazed pleadingly to the Snorlax who complimented, wanting to go back to sleep until he heard the phrase 'struggling to eat', slowly having it get to him. Snorlax couldn't bear anybody not being able to eat at all so he nods sleepily, letting it go.
Spearow looks at the giant Pokémon gratefully, having it expected to go more difficult but didn't take anymore chances, flying off with the blanket, wanting to get back as fast as possible.
...
Meanwhile with Sandshrew he was burrowing through the dirt then came out from the surface, sniffing the bushes. From growing up his mother taught him at which ones were safe to eat and which were poisonous. He didn't want to lose his trainer from giving him the wrong kind of food. Once too he caught fish that weren't Pokémon for himself as well.
Finding some blueberries, Sandshrew gathered them up, placing them on a big leaf, as well as going to a stream and waiting for some fish, diving his head in and grabbing a few small trout, placing those on the leaf as well, eventually beginning to drag them back to the shed and hoping that Brooklyn will like the food to help him feel better.
...
Meanwhile with Brooklyn he was still rather out of it since his cold was pretty horrible, his head once in a while quite dizzy, sometimes imagining his Pokémon were talking as he could kind of hear Charmander and Squirtle conversing. Squirtle had found a small piece of curved wood he put some water he squirts out in, waddling over and handing it to Brooklyn.
The red gargoyle gave a weak smile, taking the curved wood, and having a small drink, coughing badly further but the water felt rather nice down his throat after that.
Charmander turned to the sound of Spearow flying back and spotting the brown blanket in her talons, a smile of relief on his face. "I hope getting the blanket wasn't so hard." He said, making Spearow roll her eyes. "Other than trying to wake up a Snorlax it was a piece of cake." She states confidently, landing and having Squirtle take the blanket.
Squirtle places the blanket around their trainer, wondering where Sandshrew could be. "Where is Sandshrew? He should be back by now." He says in annoyance, looking about for the ground Pokémon.
Soon to his surprise he spotted Sandshrew hauling a large leaf with several food items and even a couple herbs he knew could help with colds. "I'm right here, and it looks like our trainer finally has some coverings." He says, Spearow nodding while sitting on Brooklyn's shoulder, nuzzling him with her beak lightly. "Yes, he deserves all the rest especially too after so many humans constantly call him a Pokémon."
Charmander tilted his head, always being rather confused at why Brooklyn would be seen as a Pokémon when clearly he was much more than that, leaning a little into him. "Humans always seem to call those who aren't human but are intelligent either Pokémon or mutated animals. Brooklyn saved my life from the group of Quarrymen the first time we met. And even if he was a gargoyle I still felt connected to him."
Sandshrew nudged Brooklyn who opened his eyes blearily, seeing the food in front of him and feeling his belly growl, giving another croaky sneeze and cough as Spearow smiled at Charmander's statement, Sandshrew bringing up a couple blueberries. Brooklyn took them, weakly placing the berries into his beak mouth, chewing tiredly, wishing to have a cup of tea or cough drops but this would do for now, pulling the blanket over himself even further.
Squirtle soon placed his hand on Brooklyn's forehead, turning to the others. "He isn't running a fever thankfully but we should stay here at least 4 more days." Spearow didn't like that idea of being stuck in this dingy shed but then reluctantly agreed, nestling down near the Shiny Eevee egg to keep it warm, Charmander tucking the blanket around Brooklyn more, praying that he wouldn't be so sick the next morning as they all slept around him.
...
I really wanted to try a chapter where the Pokémon talked like how they had subtitles in Indigo League for Ash's Pokémon when they were separated.
