Song In This Chapter: What Else Can I Do? from the movie Encanto
Savannah and Tina were preparing a song to help Victoria. Victoria had been through a lot since Remy's relapse. She was scared of losing her son and it showed.
They made cookies for her.
"He will be fine." Savannah said.
"That doesn't make me feel better!" Victoria sobbed.
With Jack, he was preparing his show for tomorrow as he snickered.
"What is so funny?" Alex asked.
"We are going to crush Jitro!" Jack says.
"What is tomorrow supposed to be, anyway?' Alex asked.
"Andrea's birthday. Savannah baked a grand cake." Jack says.
"Are you not aware Molly shares a birthday with her?" Alex asked.
"Okay, boys, we gotta go all out, then Luke will respect us." Alem tuber says.
"Even though he's already working on the party?" Jack asked.
With Luke, he was working on the party for Andrea and Molly. Maxwell Davenport and Sharon McGee paid him triple his normal price.
Luke was packing the favors in peace. He wanted nothing to ruin this. He had carefully planned this Encanto-themed party for weeks. From the food to the entertainment to even the desserts, he didn't skip over a single detail. Even the decorations and favors were planned meticulously.
He was now watching the video of the girls performing What Else Can I Do? from the movie, smiling at their dance moves and singing. He loved Molly's role as Isabela and Andrea's role as Mirabel in the video.
Lucy was thinking of Valentine's Day, wondering who to spend it with. Rocky or Cuphead would be good.
Luke hadn't given Valentine's Day much of a thought since he was liked by so many girls now. Since Edric and Emira's party, the girls who love him called him a man on the streets and a freak in the sheets, meaning he was good in bed.
Haiku hears the Louds talking about it and tears up. She would be spending that day with Remy, at the hospital. Not at dinner and not at the theater. At the hospital.
She sobbed hard, scared for him as she left the manor. Lucy was worried.
"It's not fair…" she sobbed, unsure of whether he'll survive.
"We have to have faith." Lucy says.
"Your family isn't known for having faith." Haiku says.
"You have to have faith that Remy will survive this, Haiku." Lucy says.
The next day, it was Molly and Andrea's 16th birthday.
Scratch and Polterpup came.
"Happy Birthday!" They say.
Molly was picturing Ollie naked in her sleep. She groaned and woke up. "Huh? Oh, hey, Scratch." Molly says as Polterpup licks her face. Molly laughed.
"Down, boy!" Molly giggled. She came down as her family made her a special birthday breakfast.
"You've turned into the prettiest girl we've ever seen, Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen!" Her family sang as Molly smiled. "Happy birthday, Molly!"
"Awww, thanks!" Molly says. She began to eat.
"So what's your plan?" Darryl asked.
"I'm going to help rebuild that mansion. I wouldn't want Polterpup here to suffer." Molly says.
"Awww, That's so sweet." Sharon says. "But you have school today, Molly. You can't skip. You have two tests today."
Molly sighed. "I nearly forgot about that…" She says.
With Andrea, she woke up annoyed and jealous of Molly. Molly had awesome parties and a family to be there. She sighed and made herself some cherry toaster pastries, got dressed for school, and began walking as she ate.
At school in Greendale, Savannah and Chrissy work on their cheerleading skills and see Alem tuber being a beast in basketball.
"We got a game today." Alex says
"We're going to crush whoever we're against." Alem tuber says.
Meanwhile, Angry Luigi was walking when Mike tripped him.
"Ha, ha, no Luke or Oliver to save you now…" Mike teased as he and Josh tossed him in the trash.
"Without Luke and Oliver, you're really useless." Mike says as they leave. Angry Luigi looks down, lonely.
That day, Haiku came to the hospital to see Remy, accompanied by Colin and Caroline. Stephen had school and would stop by later.
"Remy…" Haiku sniffed.
"Such a brave guy." Colin says.
"How are you doing?" Caroline asked.
"Sick." Remy coughed. "I m-miss my friends a lot…"
"We know, sweetheart. Stephen really misses you a lot when you're not at school with him." Caroline says.
At lunch, Savannah works on Molly's cake.
At Brighton High School, Molly sighed.
"Happy birthday, Molly." Libby says.
"Thanks, Libby." Molly says. "I think Ollie forgot my birthday…"
"Did I?" Ollie says, coming in with frosted vegan cinnamon rolls with candles.
"Aw, Ollie…" Molly says and noticed Andrea as she goes over to her.
"Happy birthday!" Molly says.
"Go away…" Andrea muffled.
"What's wrong?' Molly asked.
"You know what." Andrea says.
"My family remembers me and your dad forgets you. Well, that changes now. You're celebrating with me today. You won't be alone." Molly says.
After school, Andrea smiled as she was walking towards Jack's studio. An entire show dedicated to her sounded promising.
"She should be here any moment now." Jack says. Andrea came on stage as the fans of the show cheered.
"Happy birthday, Andrea!" They shouted and cheered as Andrea was stunned.
Molly walked home after school. She sees the show
"Oh, Andrea's on TV. That's nice, I guess." Molly says, happy her friend was getting a birthday. Sure she wasn't with Andrea now, but she was sure they'd meet later.
Besides, Molly had lots of birthday moments. Andrea had busy parents. Molly then thinks of Luke and Shane and the work they were putting in for later. She also thought of them suffering on their days.
With Garrett, he sees this and looks annoyed.
"Don't you think about it. We are not talking about that in this house!" Forest said sternly.
Lola and Lana were watching Jack's show as Andrea was competing for some toys on Jack's obstacle wheel.
"Someday I'll be on that show." Lana says as Lola had her arms crossed.
Molly came home and went to her room. She didn't want to be family was concerned.
She then laid on her bed. "All I get from him are vegan cinnamon rolls this year. I mean, I know he has a lot going on…but…" Molly trails off and stares at her ceiling, holding her favorite stuffed animals close.
Soon, Andrea dodged a couple of pies and got a gift and did a backflip.
"Yes! This may be my best birthday ever!" She says.
Jack sees the ratings were doubled. Andrea sees a doll of herself and smiles.
"Awww, I look adorable!" Andrea says.
Later, she got a birthday interview.
"Thanks, Jack. This means a lot to me. It was an honor to be on your show." Andrea says and walks out, but Mike tripped her.
"Hey!" She says.
"Enough!" Angry Luigi says as Oime tossed him to Alem tuber.
"Clone, get Andrea home. Me and my boys will handle this." Alem tuber says as Angry Luigi does so.
Angry Luigi speeds past the destroyed mansion and arrives at Andrea's house.
"That Mike guy will pay, honestly!" Andrea hissed and headed inside.
Luke goes to Stephen. "Stephen, how're the Mirabel and Isabela cakes coming along?" Luke asked.
"Just about done! Gotta add the edible flowers to Isabela's dress and the edible butterflies around Mirabel." Stephen says. "About 20 minutes, then I should be done with them."
Luke smiles as he watches Stephen work.
Meanwhile, Angry Luigi arrived.
"Hey, Savannah how are the cakes and pastries going?" Angry Luigi asked.
"Just about done honestly it's been a few years since we teamed up and stopped King boo and Jinx. These Pies need a little decoration." Savannah says, putting Luke and Andrea toy dolls on one cake and Molly and Ollie dolls on the other pie.
"Okay, let's get this stuff to our pals and stick together, no matter what!" Angry Luigi says
"Why do you wanna be a part of this so badly?' Savannah says.
"They mean a lot to Luigi, so they mean a lot to me." Angry Luigi says.
"That's sweet. I also made pizza bites and muffins." Savannah says.
Luke thinks that his work would be going to waste because of their party for Molly and Andrea. And from the posts Molly had been making all afternoon, she probably wouldn't come to either one.
"You okay?" Daisy asked as Molly was trying to help rebuild the mansion.
"Yeah…" Molly says.
"You're acting like me. I know you're lying. Is it your boyfriend?" Daisy asked.
"Fine, yes! All he got me was cinnamon rolls!" Molly says.
"He could have probably saved the best surprise for last." Daisy says.
"True. But still, I want tonight to be perfect. But I know it won't be." Molly says, still shedding tears. She then leaves. She was no longer in a mansion-renovation mood.
"Okay, that's it. Guys, I think the cosmic buddies are coming to sabotage our plans." Stephen says.
"All my work will be for nothing!" Luke screamed.
"So sabotage their plans." Lola says.
"Yeah we're going to show the cosmic buddies what pain is" Lana says.
"You will talk things out! No violence!" Charity said sternly.
"Okay, guys, prepare for violence. We are on a mission. Giving Molly the greatest night of her life. If Mike, Jack, Gem, or Begmax show up, well, you know the plan. Delta and I will take care of it before the party is ruined. And due to Jitro on patrol, it won't happen." Alem tuber says.
"I hope Remy is okay." Savannah says, worried.
Luke is livid. He wasn't looking to fight, however.
"Step 3, avoid Luke at all costs!" Alem tuber says. "He may be pissed off, but we can ignore him."
"YOU HAVE RUINED MY WORK! HOW COULD YOU RUIN MY REPUTATION LIKE THIS?!" Luke screamed.
When Maxwell Davenport and Sharon McGee saw what they did, the two parents turned to the Cosmic buddies and frowned.
"Ignore him." Alem tuber says to the cosmic buddies
"We didn't set up a party, we just made pastries for them." Savannah says.
"Yeah, besides, Andrea attended Jack's show, so we didn't want to sabotage anything." Melony says.
"Yeah, you guys got it all wrong." Bill says.
"You guys just judge us because we're not Luke or Shane " Angry Luigi says.
"So, you didn't ruin Luke's work." Maxwell says.
"No, but we are sick and tired of being treated like freaks for not being Luke or Shane or any of their friend group. It hurts, it really does. As much as I hate Luke, I don't want to ruin his life." Alem tuber says.
"Yeah, we're just kids trying to make a difference, but here." Chrissy says, giving the pastries to Stephen.
"You guys can take credit. We are done here." Jack says.
"Why did you say they were going to sabotage?" Shane asked Stephen.
"Because they were planning a party of their own for the girls." Stephen says.
Luke and Shane decorate with the stuff that Luke put together.
Molly sat in her room, not sure if she wanted to go to her party or not.
"Molly, Luke put a lot of work into your birthday party. Don't you want to see what he did for you and Andrea?" Darryl says.
"I'm not in the mood, Darryl." Molly says. Her mother came to the door next.
"Honey, he really went all out." she says.
"You don't care about how I feel right now!" Molly sobbed. "But fine! I'll go just because you care about Luke's feelings more than mine!"
She changed into her nicest dress and shoes and did her hair. She was still feeling sad.
"Honey, what's going on?" Pete asked as Molly explained.
"Ollie doesn't love me, Dad! Do I need to say it again?" Molly sniffed.
Her parents hugged her.
Soon, Luke finishes and waits for them. Andrea was the first to show up.
"Happy birthday, Andrea!" Everyone says.
"Where's Molly?" Andrea asked, looking for her.
"At home." Libby says. "She hasn't been herself since school ended today."
Andrea feels bad for Molly. She ran out to get Molly, but she shot Ollie a glare as tears still pricked her eyes.
"I hate him right now, Andrea…" Molly sniffed. "I'm mostly here to try and enjoy this party that Luke put together for us. I just want to get my mind off of school right now."
Andrea hugged Molly as Luke gave them gifts.
"What did you get, Molly?" Libby asked.
"A new music box. Awww, it's so sweet…" Molly says as Ollie walks up to Molly.
"Hey, Molly, happy birthday. I'm so sorry for hurting your feelings today." Ollie says as Molly opens his gift, seeing key cards to a Model 3 Tesla in her favorite color.
"Oh, Ollie!" Molly says and kisses him. "What a wonderful present!"
Luke sighed, finding Molly attractive. But taking her from Ollie didn't seem right. Andrea looks jealous and sees her dad on the phone.
30 minutes later…
"Okay, everyone, it's time to dance!" Luke says.
"For once, I'd like to see Daddy know that it's my birthday…" Andrea sighed.
"Now you know how I feel sometimes, Andrea." Ollie says as Molly was dancing with Libby and some of her friends from school.
"Why are you taking pity on me, Chen?" Andrea asked Ollie.
"I know what it's like." Ollie says, sitting with Andrea. "Even though I'm on the whole ghost team thing with my parents, they seem to leave me and June behind a lot. June has high-functioning autism and even though she's independent and smart and tech-savvy and all that, she still needs me to help her with most things. And my parents aren't around often to do that, so she asks me for help a lot. It's insane sometimes, but I love June enough to help her when she needs it most, you know?"
"Yeah, I get it. How often do your parents leave you and June on your own?" Andrea asked curiously.
"At least 4 times a week, and sometimes on the weekends." Ollie says. "They go to these high-intensity ghost raids and don't realize me and June could help them. But they tell us a lot of the raids are pretty dangerous and they need to handle them."
"Understandable. Do you still have family time?" Andrea asked.
"When my parents find the time to do it. When we do have family time, we go to theme parks, the zoo, the farmer's market, the science museum…sometimes the local park to play tennis or the local theater to see a play or a movie." Ollie says. "But that's only when my parents make time." He then tears up as Andrea feels bad for him.
Lisa and June were doing tech stuff together. Lisa blushed, looking at June.
"That's some nice stuff you have there." Lisa says, shyly blushing.
"Thanks." June says. She then picks up her advanced physics book and looks at it. Leni sees this and is confused.
Soon Molly and Ollie dance. Molly smiled at Ollie.
"You look beautiful." Ollie says.
"And you look amazing." Molly says.
Andrea danced with Luke, who smiled. She kissed him.
Later, everyone was getting plates of food. Molly and Andrea didn't mind waiting in line for their servings.
Lisa sat alone blushing. She had feelings for both Beau and June.
"Ollie tried out for a Royal Woods play!" Andrea says.
"You're moving?" Luke asked.
"I just came to your school to try out for this play…and somehow, I got the part of Squidward in the play." Ollie says.
"Nice! You guys should totally move here." Luke says to Molly, Anne, Sasha, Luz and the others.
"We're going to speak with our parents about that, Luke." Amity says they couldn't just force their parents to move just for Luke's sake. If they were going to move, their parents had to be OK with it.
"My parents would move just for the sake of hunting. But June seems awfully attached to the physics books here." Ollie says as Lisa was blushing harder and ran off. "June also wants a change."
"I think my family is looking for more opportunities." Molly says.
Andrea's legs crossed. All she wanted was Luke and some ice cream.
Meanwhile
"I hate those stupid fans…always hating us!" Alem tuber hissed as Skylia tried to calm him down.
"I think you guys need to just stay off of Luke's path." Skylia says.
"We tried that, but every friend we make becomes Luke's friend. Who's next, the Powerpuff Girls?" Melony asked.
"Yeah, some dumb luck keeps having us meet Luke, Shane, or the Foxes. Not to mention Emila fell in love with one of Oliver's friends." Savannah says.
"That is true." Skylia says.
Andrea was in the bathroom, moaning as she touched herself. She kept picturing Luke naked.
"Oh!" She moaned, getting close.
"Edric, have you or Amity done the deed?" Emira asked
"No…" Amity says, blushing.
"Not yet." Edric says. "Why?"
"I have..." Emira teases as Amity blushes, going to the bathroom.
Later, it was piñata time. Luke had brought out the giant crystal ball piñata.
Molly and Andrea gasp as Luke grinned.
"Release the goodies!" Luke says.
They pull the strings as candy, toys, and Encanto-themed goodies rained down. They smiled at this.
Emila was at home just reading. She sighed and went to feed Allibite.
"I need a new teacher." She says looking at a book of her memories. Losing to Oliver stunk.
She tried to practice magic, but it wasn't Oliver level. She looked down, upset. "I'm just a loser." Emila says.
Everyone was eating as Kat and Ana played pin the tail on the donkey with Molly.
Luke decided to play the video of Molly and Andrea. Everyone stopped playing to watch this. Molly smiled when she saw the video.
"I love it!" Molly says. Andrea stood beside her.
"Is our party being rushed?" Andrea asked.
"No, after the piñata, something crazy usually happens. Last year we went crazy with the cosmic buddies." Molly says.
"Like what?" Andrea asked.
"Tennis, galaxy type games, kart racing…" Molly says.
Luke walked out and screamed at the sky.
"Luke, are you okay?" Andrea asked as everyone could hear. He felt like he wasn't enough for this anymore.
"I think I'm just going to go now. You wanted a party planned by them, then you got it." Luke walked away.
Andrea felt bad for him. Also, horny. But mostly bad.
"Luke, I'm sorry, we want the stuff you can do. You're better than them." Andrea says.
Soon, the ice cream fight began. Luke sat on the sidelines, not feeling up to doing it.
Kat and Ana tossed ice cream using a launcher, hitting Sasha from a far distance.
"Good thing you're not lactose…something" Kat says.
Luke still didn't want to get up. Andrea was looking at him.
"Are you okay?" Andrea asked.
"You like them better, don't you?" he hissed.
Andrea kissed him. "Does that answer your question?" She asked
Luke got up and just got frustrated with this whole situation as everyone was still playing. Luke didn't care. He was long gone at this point.
Later, Emira looked at Viney. She had urges. But Viney went searching for Luke.
"Luke, listen, we're sorry!" Molly says.
"Ask them to plan your birthday next year! My work apparently will never be good enough!" Luke sobbed.
Molly takes him inside and shows a video of his best party moments. The end showed an image that said Thank You, Luke. Luke sniffed.
"Even though you prefer their activities to mine…they seem to be more fun than me…" Luke says.
"But we love you more. You did great!" Andrea says, sitting on his lap. Luke sniffed. Andrea rotated her hips on his lap.
"Luke, we're really sorry." Molly says. He wasn't sure what to say.
Soon, it was dessert time as Mugman brought out the pie he baked and Stephen brought out the cakes.
"Whoa!" They say. Luke looked away the whole time.
"Do you want to go home?" Luna asked. Luke felt unwanted and unneeded at this party now.
"GLADLY!" Luke screamed as he walked out.
Everyone looked down.
"We have to make the cosmic buddies pay." Garrett says.
At home, the Louds were doing other things as they saw Luke. Luna told them everything that happened. Luke had left before anyone sang to the girls. What he was feeling felt like he was sabotaged mentally because his work wasn't enough.
"What can we do?" Andrea asked. "Luke worked so hard on this, and we said they planned better parties…"
Later, they brought Luke to the party. "Surprise!" Everyone says as there were decorations for Luke. Luke screamed as he saw his hard work was dismantled. The banner said Thank You, Luke!
"What's wrong? We only wanted to thank you and Ana said you love parties about you…" Andrea says.
"I do, but you didn't have to dismantle the work I did for you and Molly." Luke sighed.
"You're more important than us." Molly says.
"Giving you a party is more important than us having our sweet 16." Andrea says.
Luke opened his gift to see a new pair of phones.
"I like it…" he sniffed. He then looked down.
"So you had cake without me?" Luke asked.
"No. Not yet." Molly says.
"Because you ruined my work! My work that took me weeks to do!" Luke sobbed. They look down.
"We can restore it." Molly says as Lucy does so, using magic.
"This was your party. I don't know why you have to sacrifice it for me." Luke says.
"Because you're amazing. I've been wanting to sacrifice my birthday for you my whole life." Lucy says.
"Really?" Luke asked.
"Yeah, but you have 5 days and Rocky wants to take me out for my sweet 16." Lucy Says " You can have it. I'll cancel the date so I can be there." Lucy says.
Soon it was cake time as Molly sees her Isabela cake and smiles. Her cake said Happy Sweet 16, Molly!
Andrea's cake said the same thing, but with her name. She smiled at her Mirabel cake as everyone started singing.
Luke smiled as he was getting more days than even Shane, thanks to Lucy. But Shane was getting 6 days, either way.
Andrea wished that Luke would win ANH and for them to do it again. Molly wished for Remy to get better. They blew out their candles as everyone cheered.
Lucy tells Charity she wanted Luke to have her day instead, despite the parts she did like. Luke was her number 1 priority.
Luke didn't want any cake. He left the party and walked home.
