Chapter 78: Hoppy Hopscotch Vs Icky Licky: Strange Encounters, Part 1
Meanwhile, Hoppy was with DogDay in the town square on Crittopia.
"So you wanna chat with me?" Hoppy asked him, "What is it you wanna talk about?"
DogDay took a deep breath.
"...I'm sorry for how I acted earlier…" He said, "And I'm sorry for spying on you and the others…"
"I forgive you." Hoppy replied, "But can I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"What the hell made you wanna act almost insane and egotistical?"
"I… I don't know, to be honest… Could be the stress I've gotten from working with Poppy and Trey to solve the double kidnappings…"
"Hmm… Ok then, I suppose I'll believe you."
"Thanks."
"By the way, any updates on CatNap?"
"I… rather leave him be today."
"Fair enough. I'm gonna go now. Take care."
"Bye."
As Hoppy and DogDay went their separate ways, Hoppy was walking home. That is, until she heard someone softly laughing behind her. She stopped walking and turned around, nothing was there.
"Odd." She said,
Hoppy went on with her way. Suddenly, someone said to her this:
"I know you're onto us." The voice said to her,
Hoppy then turned around and no one was there.
"Ok, I'm getting fucking paranoid all of a sudden." She said, "This better not be another situation where I get kidnapped by a crazy former teacher!"
Hoppy then turned around and ran. The voice spoke to her again.
"There's no escaping this time!" The voice shouted,
"Shut the fuck up!" Hoppy shouted, "I'm not listening!"
Hoppy then hid in an alleyway and caught her breath.
"Fuck…" She said, "I think I lost that fucker."
"Nah, you didn't!" The voice shouted,
Hoppy turned to see a black and yellow frog critter and shouted in fear.
"The fuck?!" She shouted at him, "Who the fuck are you?!"
The frog critter laughed a bit.
"Come on, isn't it obvious?" He said to her, "They call me Icky Licky!"
"Icky Licky…" She said as she thinks for a second before gasping, "No fucking way! You're one of the four critters kidnapped, twice! Why are you stalking me?! And why were you saying random shit to my ears?!"
"That's a mystery you'll solve for yourself. For now, duel me."
Icky revealed his Duel Disk. Hoppy chuckled.
"No shit you're a duelist as well." She said as she revealed her Duel Disk, "But you don't wanna fuck with me! I may be a girl, but I'm every guy like you's, nightmare!"
"The real nightmare will come from me!" Icky said as he watched Hoppy get into her place, "So you better think twice about threatening me with a nightmare!"
"Duel!" They both shouted to start the duel after activating their Duel Disks,
Turn 1
Hoppy Hopscotch: 4000
Icky Licky: 4000
Hoppy was confused yet determined.
"I don't know what the fuck is going on with Icky, but it's best if I talked some sense into that guy!" She said as she then looked at her hand, "Besides, I'm going first, so I'm gonna bring the thunder down on that asshat!"
Hoppy started her turn by revealing a monster.
"I'll start by activating Tempest, Dragon Ruler Of Storms' effect!" She said as she discarded Tempest and Armed Dragon Thunder LV5, "By discarding that card alongside a WIND monster, I can add a Dragon monster from my Deck to my Hand!"
Hoppy then reveals Pile Armed Dragon and adds it to her hand.
"Next, from my Graveyard, I activate Armed Dragon Thunder LV5's effect!" She said, "When sent there to activate a Dragon monster's effect, I can add a Level 5 or higher WIND Dragon monster from my Deck to my hand!"
Hoppy then reveals another Armed Dragon Thunder LV5 from her Deck and adds it to her hand.
"So you just discarded an Armed Dragon Thunder LV5 just to add another one?" Icky asked her, "Sounds kinda sketchy."
"You're the sketchy one here, stalking my ass and shit!" Hoppy said,
Hoppy then activates a Continuous Spell.
"And I'll make sure you regret it as I activate my Continuous Spell, Armed Dragon Lightning!" She said,
"Come on, you're boring me!" Icky said,
"You want me to speed up the process? Fuck it, let's do this!"
Hoppy then revealed Pile Armed Dragon in her hand.
"By discarding a WIND Dragon monster, I can Special Summon Pile Armed Dragon to my field!" Hoppy said as she discarded her 2nd Armed Dragon Thunder LV5 to Special Summon Pile Armed Dragon in Attack Position with 2800 ATK Points, "I'm gonna go easy on you and end my turn right there! So try and stop me!"
Icky's charm in the form of a radioactive warning started to glow.
"Oh crap." Hoppy said, "What's this?"
Icky looked down at his charm and smiled.
"Guess that's my calling card!" He said as he draws to start Turn 2, "I draw!"
Icky then activates a Quick-Play Spell.
"To start my turn, Imma activate my Quick-Play Spell, Spright Starter!" Icky shouted,
"Spright?" Hoppy wondered,
"With this card, I can Special Summon a Spright monster from my Deck at the cost of taking damage equal to its original ATK Points!"
Icky then searched his Deck for a Spright monster to Special Summon off of Spright Starter and revealed it to Hoppy.
"And this card will be the one!" He shouted, "So come on out, Spright Blue!"
Spright Blue was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1100 ATK Points, and Icky lost 1100 Life Points under the effect of Spright Starter, leaving him with 2900 Life Points.
"Doesn't matter." Icky said after taking damage, "Used to the pain I'm dealing myself with."
"Ok, this is concerning." Hoppy said, worried,
"Now, when Spright Blue is Special Summoned, I can add a different Spright monster from my Deck to my Hand!"
Icky then searched and revealed another Spright monster from his Deck and adds it to his hand under Spright Blue's effect.
"I'll save that one for later." He said,
"Spright Pixies…" Hoppy said,
Icky then revealed another Spright monster.
"Now for Spright Jet to be Special Summoned onto the field!" Icky said, "And I can do that because I control a Level 2 or a Rank 2 monster!"
Spright Jet was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1300 ATK Points.
"Rank 2…" Hoppy said to herself1, "So this fucker can Xyz Summon too, huh?"
"And when Spright Jet is Special Summoned, I can add a Spright Spell or Trap from my Deck to my Hand!" Icky said as he does so by adding another Spright Quick-Play Spell, Spright Gamma Burst, from his Deck to his Hand, "And again, I'm saving this card for later,
"He's still got 6 cards in his hand… Where is he going?"
Icky then revealed 2 other Spright monsters in his hand.
"And now, when I control a Level 2 or a Link-2 monster, I can Special Summon Spright Carrot and Spright Red, one by one!" He said,
"And he can Link Summon." Hoppy said to herself, "Damn, I don't like this…"
Spright Carrot was Special Summoned in Attack Position with 1000 ATK Points while Spright Red was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1200 ATK Points.
"Shit, ok, he's got 4 Spright monsters out on the field…" Hoppy said to herself, "He's gonna either Xyz Summon or Link Summon with two of them…"
"Alright, I overlay my Spright Carrot and my Spright Blue!" Icky shouted, "I'm building the Overlay Network to strike your ass down!"
The Overlay Network formed as Spright Carrot and Spright Blue were sent there and used as Xyz Materials.
"He's Xyz Summoning!" Hoppy said to herself, "But what?! I'm probably not gonna see a Rank 2 Xyz Monster like this before…"
Giant blue lightning bolts started to form as Icky started to chant.
"When two electrical bolts clash, they form a bigger and more deadly electrical bolt that will shake the ground and destroy everything!" Icky chanted, "Xyz Summon! Rank 2, Gigantic Spright!"
Gigantic Spright was Xyz Summoned onto the field in Attack Position with 1600 ATK Points.
"Oh shit." Hoppy said, "That is one big sparky boy…"
Icky smirked.
"Now to activate Gigantic Spright's effect!" He said, "By detaching a material from a monster I control, I can Special Summon a Level 2 monster from my Deck! But we can't Special Summon monsters other than Level 2, Rank 2 or Link-2 monsters for the rest of this turn!"
"Well shit." Hoppy said,
"Since my only Xyz Monster is Gigantic Spright, I'll just detach an Xyz Material from this big sparky boy to Special Summon another Spright Jet from my Deck!"
Spright Blue was detached from Gigantic Spright and sent to the Graveyard as another Spright Jet was Special Summoned onto the field in Attack Position under the effect of Gigantic Spright.
"Great, so you got 2 Spright Jets, a Spright Red and a Gigantic Spright." Hoppy said, "Doesn't matter, because my Pile Armed Dragon is still stronger than the monsters you currently control!"
"Is that so?" Icky wondered as he raised an eyebrow, "Well, let's battle then! I'll let my Spright monsters zap ya dragon big time!"
The Battle Phase started.
"Whatever is he trying to do, it better work." Hoppy said,
"Gigantic Spright, attack Pile Armed Dragon!" Icky shouted,
Gigantic Spright went to attack Pile Armed Dragon.
"Pfft, big mistake, bro!" Hoppy said, "Some gigantic monster your Gigantic Spright is! Pile Armed Dragon is still gonna destroy it!"
Icky smirked.
"Will this still be a big mistake as I activate the effect of my Spright Pixies from my hand?" He said as he revealed Spright Pixies and sends it to the Graveyard,
"Ok, what is that gonna–" Hoppy wondered as she noticed that Gigantic Spright's ATK Points went up to 4400 thanks to Spright Pixies, "--Fuck."
"Gigantic Blue Thunderbomb!"
Gigantic Spright then destroyed Pile Armed Dragon with its blue lightning bolts and dealt 1600 points of damage to Hoppy, draining her Life Points to 2400.
"You fucker!" She shouted, "What did you do?!"
"When a monster of mine battled one of your monsters, I can use Spright Pixies for my attacking monster to gain ATK and DEF Points equal to that specific monster's ATK Points!" Icky replied, "It's best to fight lightning with lightning because I'm just too good!"
"Oh, now you pissed me off! Go ahead and attack me again!"
"I will! My first Spright Jet will attack you directly!"
Icky's 1st Spright Jet went to attack Hoppy directly.
"But let's end this duel quickly!" Icky said as he revealed Spright Gamma Burst from his hand, "I activate my Quick-Play Spell, Spright Gamma Burst!"
Spright Gamma Burst was activated as all of Icky's Spright monsters charge up.
"With this card, all Level 2, Rank 2, and Link-2 monsters currently on the field gain 1400 ATK/DEF Points until the end of this turn!" Icky said,
"Wait what?!" Hoppy shouted, "1400?!"
Spright Red was at 2600 ATK Points, 2 Spright Jets were at 2700 ATK Points while Gigantic Spright was at 5600 ATK Points.
"Fuck!" Hoppy shouted as she looked at her hand, "No wait, I take that back!"
Hoppy then revealed Swift Scarecrow from her hand.
"Because I have Swift Scarecrow!" She shouted, "By sending this card to the Graveyard, I can end the Battle Phase right now!"
"Pffft, not a chance!" Icky shouted, "I activate Spright Red's effect!"
"Huh?!"
"When you activate a monster's effect, I can send a Level 2, Rank 2 or Link-2 monster from my field to the Graveyard to negate the effect!"
One of Icky's Spright Jets was sent to the Graveyard to negate Swift Scarecrow's effect.
"Oh you gotta be fucking kidding me!" Hoppy shouted,
The currently attacking Spright Jet continued with its attack on Hoppy by shooting its lightning bolts at her, dealing enough damage to drain her Life Points to 0. Icky was the winner as he laughed a bit.
"Gotcha bitch!" He shouted,
Hoppy was on the ground after being dealt that attack.
"Urgh…" She groaned in pain as she slowly got up while looking at the ground, "You motherfucker… I will fuck you up…"
As Hoppy looked up, Icky was gone. Hoppy was confused.
"The fuck?" She wondered, "He's gone?! Where did he run off to?!"
Hoppy fully got up, but weakened.
"But still, he was kidnapped twice, and now he's acting strange…" She said, "Something is up around here…"
