HI READERS! Sorry to publish like this, but this is the best way to communicate to you about a new collab project I'm working on and I wanted to give you a head start...

You may or may not have read an unfinished fic called Really Got a Hold On Me, by an author named Jordana Amore. Her story is here on FFN for you to read. I would post the link but FFN doesn't allow URLs ;( She's written for other fandoms as well and if you're interested in a HIGH QUALITY good read, I suggest checking out her profile page! Anyway, this glee fic is a very Rachel-centric Tragic/Dark/Drama filled tale - and also Finchel-y of course, which sb obvious since it is *I* who is now going to tell you to GO READ IT! =)

The original fic has been sitting unfinished for more than a decade. Her writing is SO impeccable and I was SO ENTHRALLED by it that I needed an ending... so I reached out to the author (on a hope & prayer), and imagine my utter surprise when she RESPONDED BACK! :-D

She says she won't have time to finish writing this and hadn't worked on it beyond her leave off point, but she gave me her blessing to finish it.

I will NOT be publishing her orig 13 chaps here; instead I'll ask you to go read her fic that's already published, then resume the continuation (which may or may not end up posted here or under her original fic... TDB?).

WHAT'S IT ABOUT? * * * SPOILER ALERT * * * (skip this section between the horizontal line separators if you don't want details!)

Just to clue you in a little on the general theme, if you've read my story She Don't Fade,then you'll understand when I tell you my fic could *almost* be a flash forward continuation of Jordana's fic, except my Rachel was older and of course there's different circumstances/players involved.

The broad strokes summary/plot overview of Jordana's fic is: Set S2, post Original Song. Was written prior to NY Nationals airing on TV, so is canon to 2x16, then AU. Finchel are still split up (post Pucktanagate) in the beginning of the story (though there is very little FUINN 2.0 in this fic!). There's a little Puckleberry friendship moment in the opener which provides foreshadowing & sets an overall theme and Rachel's state of mind.

Soon into the story, Rachel and Jesse St James (yes, he's back) are cast in a play in Columbus by a real Broadway director. It's potentially both of their big breaks (so yes, there's a smidgeon of a St Berry relationship, though not particularly romantic). Shelby eventually joins the production as a vocal coach, much to Rachel's dismay. While at play rehearsals, Rachel goes through a serious trauma (MAJOR trigger warning for S.A.). Somewhere in between the events of the play rehearsals, her and Finn reconcile and remain reunited through the end of the original published story to date.

Rachel is re-traumatized over a period of weeks, which is affecting EVERYTHING about her life. Her increasingly UN-Rachel-like behavior is noticed by Finn (in a big way) and Kurt. Kurt is the one who eventually pieces together the reality of Rachel's situation and enlists Mercedes, Finn, Puck and Mr Schue to help save her, because Rachel is in MEGA denial of her circumstances and blaming herself for her predicament.

The original work leaves off within a month of junior prom, to give you a rough timeline since it's so AU. The original story per Jordana was intended to focus on Rachel's journey as well as her relationship with Shelby.

So I hope you'll forgive me with yet ANOTHER new sidetracked/detour project away from my own stories in progress (which are being worked on as well, I SWEAR! a new chap of RER is still in progress nearing completion), but tbh, I'd so much rather help give closure to this incredible OG fic that Jordana started, and it's where my MOOSE is traveling atm, so, you know me, I gotta follow the moose... This fic and it's readers *deserve* an ending & I hope you'll come along for the journey to the finish!

Chapter 14 for this story is complete and being final reviewed right now, so I urge you to go read (or re-read) Really Got a Hold On Me and get caught up!
