I am getting so good at not deleting my stories... so proud. My OCD meds are helping.

He is a redmage, if you are unaware.

Also, who should he travel with? Team Inuyasha, Kikyo or Kohaku? Thoughts?

It took days to walk to Totosai's home, tracing the land from the map Tobi sensei had shown him, but soon he was walking toward the mountain the man lived at. A simple sepll kept him cool as he walked through the lava and toward the man's home, which was the skeleton of a powerful demon. Inside the man was working on something, hammering away and not at all paying attention to Damien.

"Sir?" The Demon froze, turning to face him. The Demon in question had an ancient frame, looking like he was easily ninety in human years, but his energy was fierce and bubbly. "I am Damien, I was the student of two of the Goddess Suijin's vassals... Rin and Tobi, they asked me to come to you at some to learn the art of crafting."

The man sighed before holding his skinny arm. "Let me see that blade, let us see what it can tell me." He did as he was told and the damn demon licked his blade with a slithery tongue. There was a pause, and his blade actually hummed, vibrating with potency that told tales all it's own. "It says you are a hard worker, with a firm conviction and a powerful mind. You cast spells of pure magic, no spiritual or demonic... and it also says you have a wealth of compassion...hmmm... very well, I will allow you to work for me."

Damien bowed low, genuinely appreciative. "I cannot express how much I appreciate this, Sensei."

The man smiled, a genuinely warm grin really. "I would not say that yet, you've yet to learn a thing from me. For now, I need you to gather me some wood, take that axe over there. We can discuss the rest of your training when you return. It has been a long time since I have had an apprentice, I have much to consider."

""'

Hours would pass, with Damien cutting down a tree and stripping it into Lumber, before Damien would bring a load of spelled ( to make it lighter) wood for Totosai and placed it at his feet.

"Good,..." Totosai said. "Your strong, patient and have the ability to work hard. I like that... very well, tommorrow we will start with the basics. What metals work best with what kind o magic, and the purpose of singing your swords. For me, magic comes with my fire breathe and ingredients. For some it's spells and singing or herbal work. When you find what method works best for you, you will be able to create blades of great power, layering intent and spells onto a blade.

Now, to start for this day, I want you to show me how you've learned enchantment thus far. Take this piece of wood, make it fire retardant."

Grabbing the piece of wood, he focused on it. "I could layer spells a dozen ways... but for the best results..." He focused on his finger, drawing blood to the surface and allowed a droplet to to drip onto the piece of wood. Holding a hand over it, he focused on the spell. "Netsu o mushi suru." The blood glowed a bright green, like a firefly, before sinking into the wood with a ripple.

Totosai smiled, noddinng. "You've got a grip on the basics. I am a master, I can understand all blades, but those tied to me by blood or magic are clearer in their language. It allows me to ask for permission to allow them to sleep. Now, the weapons I craft after made from demonic parts, and have life to them... yours will too once we are done with you.

Your project for the next few months is to create a blade capable of channeling your magic, being immune to demonic powers and to awaken latent powers born from it's connection to you. To that end, we have much to work on... so let us get started."

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was a joy to write.
