I have so many stories, but I keep getting ideas for new ones (especially Last of Us ones hehe)! No worries, I'm updating the others as we speak. This might be a slowburn, I want to make sure I cover what I have planned. This is definitely an AU so ages will be different, etc.
Jackson is a small settlement in Wyoming. Everyone pretty much knows each other. That was the first thing Abby Anderson noticed when her and her father moved there a couple months ago. She hadn't really met anyone except for the town council and even then she only remember two of their names: a married couple - Maria and Tommy.
Even though Abby was 20 years old, she was put in a house with her father. Something about not enough houses yet, as more are being built. She didn't mind. They were told once a house became available, Abby could have it.
All adults have to participate to help the town in some way. Luckily, Jerry had no trouble becoming a doctor for the clinic as they could use one more doctor. Abby didn't know where she would work at. Nothing seem to interest her until someone mentioned patrols.
"What's patrol," she asked someone.
"A group will go out on the Outside and check for infected, hunters, etc."
So, Abby decided to sign up for that. Only problem is Jerry didn't like the idea.
"What if you get bitten or killed or injured," he asked her.
"I won't be alone. It's a partner or group job. I'm sure the person or persons I'm with are capable to make sure that doesn't happen and if it did happen, I'm sure they will help out anyway they can."
Jerry eventually gave in. After all, Abby is an adult; he couldn't really stop her.
Abby had signed up for patrol and waited for her first assignment. Maria suggest since it was her first patrol to go on a group patrol to get her feet wet. The group she was with two older men and one younger man - Jesse. He was pretty cool, but very serious. Not that bugged Abby as she can be very serious herself. During the trip they came across two people. One was obvious dead and the other crying over them. It was a girl and a boy.
"Hey there," one of the older men in the group said. Abby honestly forgot the names of the older men.
"She's gone," the boy screamed.
"What happened?"
"These men…they just attacked us for no reason. I…I-" He started crying more.
"Why don't you come back with us? We can bring her and have a proper funeral for her." He nodded as he got up. The older men grabbed the deceased girl and put her on the horse.
"What's your name, son?"
"Lev."
