Chapter Ten - A surprise and The Third Task/betrayal

The months after the Yule ball went by really fast and it was now February almost March Harry, Ron and Hermione were dressed in their uniforms in a empty corridor after a free period overlooking the grounds and bridge discussing how the Yule ball went as they didn't discuss it after the argument happened Hermione said "Viktor mostly watches me study to be honest I find it charming but we're not in a relationship"

Harry and Ron nodded and Ron said "I'm sorry I was being a jerk it's just I'm jealous you went with him rather than me"

Hermione gasped "Oh Ron I'm flattered but I only see you as my brother I'm sorry you will find out soon that it's for the best, you'll meet a nice girl in the future I mean"

Ron nodded "Okay then hopefully it'll be soon though"

Harry smiled "Easy mate we're only fourteen"

Hermione looked at them "well actually I was born mid September in 79 the year before you both were born so I'm actually fifteen but thanks to the time turner I'm actually more like a sixteen, seventeen year old"

Harry and Ron smiled and Harry said "we're glad we have you as a friend"

Later on that day Hermione came back from classes exhausted and feeling sick so we went into the bathroom and threw up, Rabastan walked in worried about her "Hermione are you okay??"

Hermione flushed the toilet coming out of the bathroom "I don't know, I think I'm getting sick I've been feeling nauseous and exhausted all day"

Rabastan took her hand "maybe you should go see Madame Pomphrey to be on the safe side"

Hermione nodded "Yes I think I should too"

Rabastan and Hermione went down to the hospital wing and Hermione laid down on one of the beds as she felt a wave of nausea.

Madam Poppy Pomphrey, a tall thin woman with grey hair tied up in a bun with grey robes and a white pinny apron approached them "Miss Granger what seems to be the matter? And why are you with Mr Lestrange?"

Hermione sat up slightly "Professor Dumbledore didn't tell you? Okay we'll tell you but you have to promise me you won't get mad or say something to Harry and Ron I don't mind if Professor McGonagall knows on second thoughts" Hermione got out her wand and cast the patronus charm which hers was a wolf who looked at her then she told it to find Professor McGonagall and to come to the hospital wing, it nodded and went off.

Poppy Pomphrey looked at her "I know there's something you both need to tell me but why did you really come here today do you feel sick?"

Hermione nodded her head "I've been feeling nauseous all day I thought it would pass"

Madam Pomphrey nodded getting her wand out and she cast a diagnostic charm over Hermione and smiled a little bit but was also shocked as Hermione was only fifteen "Well you're not sick but this isn't something that won't go away for another six to seven months it appears you're pregnant"

Hermione smiled "That's wonderful news" she then kissed Rabastan as Professor McGonagall entered the hospital wing, shocked at what she was seeing because Rabastan was now seventeen almost eighteen. "Miss Granger, what do you think you're doing with Mr Lestrange??"

Hermione pulled back for a minute blushing and she removed the concealment charm over her hand which revealed her wedding ring "I can kiss my husband Professor"

Professor McGonagall nodded but was also surprised "Congratulations but when did you get married?"

Hermione smiled "we got married over the Christmas holidays, Rabastan and I have actually known one another a long time. He's the childhood friend I mentioned I see during the holidays".

Poppy smiled finally knowing why Rabastan was with Hermione "Minerva Hermione mentioned that Professor Dumbledore knows they're married but the happy couple just found out they're expecting a baby which I will happily monitor but Miss Granger you'll have to conceal your bump by charms and by wearing maternity robes and clothing when you start to show, you'll also have to have checkups every two weeks with me"

Hermione nodded "but what about classes? I mean will we make up that I'm sick or something?"

Minerva nodded "we'll come to that when it happens and it's a good thing the tri wizard tournament will take off some pressure too so you can relax more"

Rabastan kissed Hermione "this is wonderful news and well with your head of house knowing it'll make things easier"

The next morning at breakfast Hermione was trying hard not to throw up, she was also repulsed at Ron shoving his food down "can you eat a little slower Ronald you're making me want to vomit"

Harry frowned a little "are you okay Hermione? You're not eating any breakfast"

Hermione smiled a little "I'm fine Harry I'm just not hungry besides I don't want to eat then vomit"

Draco went over to them "Granger are you alright? You look like you're going to vomit everywhere, Professor Snape asked me to give you these nausea potions as he's busy preparing for his next class, it'll help you be able to keep your food down as you need to eat"

Harry looked confused "why are you being nice for once? You normally call her a filthy mudblood"

Draco sighed putting the potions down "because Professor Snape asked me to be more civil towards her and I don't feel like getting her stressed out and I don't want to be punched again that really hurt"

Hermione smiled a little "thank you Draco" she then took one of the potions feeling better.

Three months later Hermione was starting to show but kept her bump hidden, she was waiting for the final task to begin showing her support to Harry. Ron looked at Hermione "He'll be okay right??"

Hermione nodded "I have faith that he will be yes, I actually think he's got a good chance at winning the tournament"

Hermione then snuck off whilst he wasn't looking and she saw Viktor then she cast a spell on him that would do as she asked "make sure Harry gets to the cup" she then left him and took her seat next to Ron.

Dumbledore walked out with the champions and everyone went quiet "the final event is to enter a maze, earlier today I tasked Professor Moody to hide the cup deep within the maze now Mr Diggory and Mr Potter are tied for first place so they'll enter first, followed by Mr Krum and then Miss Delacour. If any of them get in distress they only need to send three red sparks from their wands. Champions take your positions, on the sound of the can" before he could finish Mr Filch accidentally set the cannon off and so Harry and Cedric entered the maze and as soon as they were inside the maze magically sealed itself.

Harry was a bit scared not knowing what the maze had in store but he walked through using lumos a spell that created light at the tip of his wand to help him see a little better, that's when he stumbled across Fleur who had been knocked unconscious and was entwined in vines of the maze sucking her in, he then shot three red sparks of red light and a tornado appeared. He ran and the path closed itself he then walked further and was then told by Cedric to get down as spells were flying, Cedric managed to knock Viktor unconscious grabbing his wand, Harry had to tell him to stop and that he was bewitched that's when he did as he caught sight of the cup. They both fought to get there and Cedric got caught by vines of the maze that tripped him up trying to suck him into the maze. Cedric looked up at Harry "Harry! You have to help me"

Harry looked back at Cedric and freed him with reducto a spell that blasted the vines. Cedric looked at Harry "Thanks, I thought for a moment I was going to be gone. Some game huh?"

Harry nodded "yes some game, uh that wind's returned"

Cedric looked at him "Go! We have to get to the cup"

Harry and Cedric ran to the cup and looked at each other then they both took ahold of the cup, soon as they did they were portkeyed to a graveyard landing with a thud, the cup landed a little away from them. Cedric got up helping Harry then said "where are we?"

Harry looked at him "I don't know but it's a graveyard so i don't think we're at Hogwarts anymore"

Cedric leant down to the cup "It's a portkey, Harry it's a portkey"

That's when Harry clutched his scar in pain, and there appeared Wormtail holding a bundle of a strange creature telling Cedric to get back to the cup.

Harry looked at Cedric but before he could say anything Wormtail killed Cedric. Harry looked at Wormtail/Peter Pettigrew "No! Cedric!"

Harry was levitated and trapped by a statue by Wormtail as Harry said "what do you want Wormtail?"

Wormtail looked back "I'm going to revive the dark Lord" he then dropped the bundle he was holding into the cauldron which contained a potion he then went through the ritual dropping in a bone from Voldemort's father, Wormtail cut off his hand dropping it into the potion then he cut Harry's arm open with a knife a little to get the blood tapping the knife so the blood went into the potion. Soon as he did this the cauldron glowed and fired up reviving Voldemort.

Voldemort opened his eyes and said "my wand Wormtail" Wormtail gladly handed him his hand and as a reward Voldemort gave him a metal hand.

Voldemort turned towards Harry and then the door of the cabin "you can come out now Miss Malfoy or should I say Miss Granger"

Harry gasped as Hermione appeared "Hermione get out of here!"

Hermione turned to him "I can't Harry I'm so sorry" she then removed her glamour charm revealing her long blonde hair with black in it, her eyes then changed from brown to hazel and she grew a little in height plus her slight bump was revealed plus her wedding ring.

She walked over to Voldemort bowing as best she could "I'm ready to serve"

Voldemort smirked "Good, good and congratulations"

Hermione smiled pulling up the sleeve of her black robes she was given by Rabastan giving him her arm to take the dark mark. Voldemort then said "Do you Hermione Evelyn Ariella Malfoy-Lestrange swear to serve me and uphold your duties and responsibilities as a death eater?"

Hermione smiled "I do" as soon as she said that he muttered the spell which gave her the mark he also summoned his other followers apart from those in Azkaban she then bowed, taking her side beside Lucius and Rabastan who took off their masks revealing their faces. Rabastan smiled, putting his hand on Hermione's bump where the twins lay.

Hermione smiled as she felt them kicking "they're happy to see their daddy and uncle"

Harry looked at Hermione "how could you do this to us?!"

Hermione looked back "because this is who I was raised to be Harry I don't have a choice in this"

Harry looked at her "so you and Rabastan are married and expecting twins?"

Hermione nodded "yes and it's why he came to Hogwarts and why I was asked to give him a tour plus live with him at school but neither of us created the portkey"

Harry looked at her again "And you're a Malfoy, are you the ferret's sister??"

Hermione slapped him "Actually I'm the daughter of Abraxas and Rayna Malfoy, Lucius is my big brother and never ever call my nephew a ferret again or I will crucio you into next week"

When she said this the others laughed as did Voldemort. He then said "okay enough of this" he then released Harry "Now you will die but in a duel. I presume you know the rules of a duel?"

Hermione said "Harry, do as he says please, you know how to duel you did it in our second year at school"

Harry nodded bowing and then they started to duel the deatheaters that were there watched in awe whilst Hermione rubbed her bump. That's when ghosts of victims killed by the twin wands of Harry and Voldemort appeared including Harry's parents they told him to let go after saying goodbye, Cedric told him to take his body back to his father. Harry let go and before he escaped with the cup and Cedric Hermione erased Harry's mind of the knowledge he knew about Hermione.

Hermione bowed "my lord I know he escaped but he won't tell anyone about me as I erased his mind of that knowledge, he can tell people you're back but no one will believe him"

Voldemort nodded "very good, continue to play the devoted friend to him and spy on the fool Albus Dumbledore for me"

Hermione nodded her head rubbing her bump, placing her glamour charms back on and she then took Rabastan's hand and he apparated them both back to Hogwarts and they managed to join the crowds without being missed. After they took their spots beside Ron, Harry reappeared causing everyone to cheer but Harry was upset. Fleur saw this figuring it out and she screamed. Hermione went to Harry "oh my god" Dumbledore and Fudge appeared "Miss Granger you shouldn't have to see this"

Hermione nodded "I know but I want to support Harry"

Cedric's father made his way through the crowds to where Cedric's body was as Harry looked up "I couldn't leave him not there, it was Voldemort he's back he's back!"

Rabastan made his way through the crowds joining Hermione "Sir we have to move his body there's too many people here, I'm sorry Mr Diggory for your loss"

Hermione pretended to cry as she hugged Harry and she plus Professor Moody led Harry to his classroom. "Harry what happened?"

Harry looked at her "Voldemort returned and he..he killed Cedric Wormtail revived him using drops of my blood and some sort of potion"

Hermione secretly rubbed her bump and had her dark mark covered up with a glamour charm she then turned to Professor Moody as she heard his suitcase like someone trying to escape. "Uh Professor what's in your trunk?"

Professor Moody/Barty Crouch Jr turned to her "that's none of your concern girl"

Just then his polyjuice potion began to wear off he went through his stuff trying to find the polyjuice potion and stumbling backwards he said "I finally have a chance to get rid of the famous Harry Potter!" He then went to attack Harry as Hermione got out her wand quickly disarming him and placing him in a full body bind.

That's when Professor Dumbledore, Snape and McGonagall appeared as Professor McGonagall said "Mrs Lestrange, Mr Potter come over here whilst Professor Dumbledore and Snape deal with this imposter" Harry and Hermione went over to her, Harry got confused by this "Professor I think you meant Miss Granger"

Hermione fiddled with her hands a little where her ring was "Actually Harry I got married over Christmas and well you know him"

Harry gasped realising who she meant "you…and Rabastan are married and that's why you're together all the time??"

Hermione nodded her head revealing her wedding ring after taking the glamour charm off her hand "yes and only Professor Dumbledore and McGonagall knew about it I'm sorry Harry we can discuss it later"

Harry and Hermione watched as Professor Snape administered the veritaserum a potion that would force the person who drank it to tell the truth.

Dumbledore looked at the imposter "are you Alastor Moody? Did you kill him?"

The imposter started to change "No I'm not him and I didn't kill him"

Hermione gasped looking towards the trunk "you trapped him inside there all this time?" She then rubbed her bump but whilst Harry wasn't looking.

Professor Snape waved his wand at the trunk whilst the imposter changed back to his true form revealing it to be Barty Crouch Jr and the trunk unlocked itself revealing a weak but alive Mad-eye Moody.

Hermione looked at Barty Crouch Jr and asked "Did you lead to Cedric's death?"

Barty looked back at her "of course I did, I put Potter's name in the Goblet of Fire and I set the tri wizard cup up as a portkey to transport Potter to the graveyard where Lord Voldemort would return, he was collateral damage"

Hermione sent her patroness to Rabastan who appeared with a crack and protecting Hermione said "Well, well Barty Crouch Jr we've been looking for you"

Rabastan sent his patroness to the auror office and aurors appeared, taking Barty Crouch Jr back to Azkaban to await trial for the new crimes he committed including killing his own father.

Hermione took Harry back up to hers and Rabastan's chambers "I'm sorry I didn't tell you I got married over the Christmas holidays but I didn't want you to be angry at me because I'm fifteen and well Rabastan is seventeen almost eighteen"

She then poured him a glass of firewhisky handing him the glass. "It'll help with the shock, I don't drink obviously but Rabastan does, please not a word of me being married to Rabastan to Ron yet he'll only blow his lid off and call Rabastan a pervert but I've known Rabastan since we were children. We always had feelings for one another, we dated secretly and saw each other during Hogsmeade weekends. It's why I kept disappearing when we had trips to Hogsmeade".

Harry nodded sipping the glass of firewhisky as he hadn't had it before "your secret is safe with me I won't tell Ron but if you and Rabastan have kids in the future you'll have to tell him"

Hermione looked at Harry "I know and I will tell him when the time is right"

Rabastan came into the room which was decorated in dark blue with gold and he sat beside Hermione "Harry how're you feeling? I know it couldn't have been easy to watch Cedric die then Voldemort being reborn"

Harry looked at him "Honestly, I don't know what to feel but for Cedric to be killed like that it was uncalled for"

Hermione and Rabastan nodded, Hermione then hugged him "We know Harry and we're here to support you if you need us"

The next day everyone gathered in the great hall for a memorial service to honour Cedric wearing their school uniforms, Dumbledore was both upset and furious that Cedric was murdered by Voldemort and knew from now on there'd be darker times ahead.

After the memorial service it was time for the students of the other two schools to return back to their schools and to say farewell. Harry looked towards Hermione as she said goodbye to Viktor and he gave her his details so she could write to him at any time. Ron was hugged by Fleur and her sister Gabrielle then they walked away to the coach pulled by massive Abraxan horses with wings.

Hermione and Ron joined Harry in the courtyard as Ron said "do you think it'll ever be the same again?"

Hermione looked at Ron "No, everything's going to change but for the best"

Rabastan walked towards them and held Hermione's hand "are you okay?"

Ron looked confused by this "Is there something going on between you two or something?"

Hermione sighed and removed the glamour charm over her hand revealing her wedding and engagement ring "well actually, Rabastan and I are married we've been married since Christmas Eve"

Ron gasped "Wait what??! Why didn't you tell us?? Also isn't Rabastan like seventeen or something??"

Hermione looked at him "I've known Rabastan since I was a child Ron and yes I'm only technically fourteen but the time turner from last year has aged me a little bit so I'm more like fifteen years old and well Rabastan is eighteen years old he graduated from Durmstrang a year and a half ago"

Rabastan looked at Ron "I get why you're mad but you were a complete and utter jerk the night of the Yule ball. Hermione and I have been in love for a very long time since we were children but it was only when she was thirteen that we decided to date then get married over Christmas"

Ron nodded "Okay it does explain why she kept disappearing on our trips to Hogsmeade but if you went to Durmstrang why didn't you come with them?"

Harry looked at Ron "Ron he had graduated when Durmstrang came to Hogwarts now let's just enjoy seeing them leave"

Hermione smiled and they all watched as the abraxan horses took flight and the ship that carried Durmstrang disappeared.
