Will Gardner doesn't know what to do: he knows he shouldn't have slammed his fist into Wade Connors face, but he's been waiting 18 years to do it, and he'd do it again if he could.
He's worried about Alicia, Wade Connors hurt her, hurt all of them, but he hurt Alicia more than anyone else and he's seen first hand what just hearing his name does to her, he can't imagine what seeing him today will do to her, though he's immensely proud of her for slapping him across the face without breaking down.
Speaking of Alicia, she's sitting on his couch, staring at his office door, another cup of coffee in her hands after someone cleaned up the other one, her eyes fixated on everyone who passes the office. He knows what she's doing: she's keeping an eye out for Connors in case he somehow got past the lobby.
Will growls under his breath. Diane is walking up to his door, a mixed expression on her face. She's here for answers, he knows his partner, and she won't leave until she has every question answered.
His door opens, Alicia startles, like a child being caught with their hand in the cookie jar before dinner.
Diane Lockhart, dressed to the nines in a red dress, enters his office, closing the door behind her. "Would one of you explain to me why you two saw fit to slap then punch a man in the lobby?" She asks. Will shakes his head, taking a seat next to Alicia, smiling a little when she leans into him. He steals a sip of her lukewarm coffee. "Not really." Will answers. Diane sighs. sitting on the edge of his coffee table, looking at the two of them.
"What happened for you to slap him across the face, Alicia, when he'd never met you?" Diane asks her. Alicia shakes her head, rolling her eyes: Alicia won't tell Diane anything, not about Wade Connors, he knows that, but Diane needs to know why they slapped and punched Wade Connors.
"Y... you don't know w... what he did." Alicia with a stammer. Will sighs, his lips grazing across her hair, Diane's green eyes soften a little bit. "What did he do, Alicia?" Alicia looks at Will, the question shining in her eyes. Will sighs again. Diane is a friend, the top boss, his partner and a confidante, she can be trusted with anything.
"It's up to you, Leesh, I'll back you up, you know that." Will tells her, Alicia looks away from Will.
"Whatever we say, can't leave the three of us, not many people know this." Alicia says, narrowing her eyes at his partner, Diane nods instantly. Alicia takes a deep breath and grabs his hand, squeezing tightly.
"You know me and Will attended Georgetown together, but Wade Connors, the man I slapped and Will punched, also attended and he was in our year. Me, Will and Wade were all friends, along with Julianna, Tony and Sydney." Alicia says with a smile. Will also smiles as he thinks of his early college years with his five best friends, the six of them against the world.
"We were all inseparable until the day after graduation. Jules and I came home after a night out with the boys to find Sydney dead in our apartment. I was the one who found Sydney dead." Alicia says, her smile fading as a look of pain comes across her face. Will tightens his grip on her hand to keep her grounded but it's too late, Alicia has slipped back into the past.

Flashback:
The laughter echoes through the apartment as the door is opened by Jules. They all graduated yesterday. They're lawyers, they all did it. Alicia, Will, Jules, Wade, Tony and Sydney are all lawyers.
They've all been on a high all night that has bled into today.
"Syd, hurry up, the guys are taking us out!" Jules shouts as she enters their apartment. Alicia doesn't know why something feels wrong but it does, it doesn't feel right.
She smells something in the air, it clings to the apartment, it smells metallic and sweet.
Oh no!
Blood.
She pushes past Jules and runs into Sydney's small box room, and screams at the scene in front of her:
Sydney is naked on her bed, blood covering her, covering her purple bedspread and the walls. Alicia runs to her friend, shaking her when she sees them:
The cuts carved onto Sydney's breasts.
There's a silt across her throat.
"SYDNEY!" Alicia screams, her friend's blood covering her hands and the front of her jacket.
Her best friend has been raped and murdered in her own home, in her own bed.
"NO!" Alicia screams, hugging her cold best friend's body to her.
Alicia comes out of the flashback with tears streaming down her face. "I found her dead, I held her until the cops came. They tried to get me to let her go but I wouldn't until the guys came and literally pulled me off her and carried me out of the apartment kicking and screaming. I never went back in, not even to move my stuff out. That last time I was there, I found my best friend dead. We all stayed at the boys place after that." She looks at Will who wipes a few of her ever falling tears off her face, like he did the day she found her best friend dead.
"It was awful, we all had nightmares for weeks afterwards. We only graduated and she was raped and murdered maybe even a few hours afterwards." Will takes over, his own memories starting to haunt him.
"It was easy to solve her rape and murder," Alicia starts again. "Wade was obsessed with her, always asking her out, she said no every time, he accepted it but he felt rejected every time she said no, until he snapped on graduation night.
Me and Jules were out all night drinking with Will and Tony, Sydney had a headache, she got them when she was stressed out, and Wade didn't feel like drinking with us all night so we didn't think much of it until I found her. His initials were carved into each of her breasts and his DNA was found inside her. He killed her without remorse, without any consideration for her family or her friends. He raped then murdered her because he was tired of being rejected!" Alicia stands up, and starts pacing the office, tears rolling down her face.
"Why did he get out, Will? He was meant to die in prison, not be released." Alicia asks as a knock comes at the office door. It's a receptionist.
"I'm sorry to interrupt but Mr Connors needs to see Alicia and now Will." Alicia looks at Will, both of their eyes wide. They don't want to see him ever again.
Will opens his mouth to say something, getting from the couch and hugging Alicia close to him.
"No." Diane says to the receptionist firmly. The receptionist nods and closes the door behind her as she leaves the three of them.
"Wade Connors approaches either of you, call me and I'll be there." The blonde named partner tells the two of them gently. Will nods for both of them.
Diane leaves the two of them with a small smile.
