A/N: I was planning to start this on the day the 10th Anniversary of Dokkan Battle starts, but I was a few days late... Still, a good thing I'm getting this out there on the last day of January today. As for how it'd start, well, it'd first start with "Dead Zone". And this is where certain things would start to get changed. And the Author's Note at the end, I'll explain what one of those changes is. For now, enjoy.
Dragon Ball Z: The Story of Son Goku
Chapter 1: Dead Zone - Part 1: Gohan's Abduction?!; A New Enemy on the verge of Immortality?!
One day, on Planet Vegeta, as a little baby named Kakarot cried...
"Kakarot, huh? Just another lower-class warrior child. We'll send him to one of the frontier planets. He's no good to us here.", a doctor said.
"I suppose not.", another added before pressing a button and opening the hatch, which fully showed little Kakarot.
Narrator: "On Planet Vegeta, a baby boy cries out for the first time. Little could he know, high in the skies above, both his father and his Homeworld are under threat by a fearsome enemy."
In space above Planet Vegeta, Bardock flew in past the soldiers' combined blasts from all around him.
"FRIEZA!", Bardock shouted.
While he managed to bash one soldier, King Vegeta, of all people, blasted at another. For them, handling the minions was simple. But when it came to Frieza, however, their fates were already decided.
"Frieza...!", Bardock sneered.
Of course, the Frieza Force soldiers murmured in surprise over Frieza's direct involvement of the battle.
"Right now, everything changes. It all comes down to this. My fate, Planet Vegeta's, Kakarot's...! And yes...!", Bardock began before chuckling.
"Yours, too, Frieza.", Bardock said before preparing a blue energy blast in his right hand.
"You are strong without a doubt, Frieza. But in the end..., you will end up losing to us Saiyans!", King Vegeta shouted before preparing purple energy blast in his own hand.
"WE SETTLE IT HERE!", Bardock shouted as he and King Vegeta fired their combined blasts toward Frieza.
But he never lost his composure, aside from laughing maniacally as the blast he prepared on his own grew bigger and even absorbed the combined blasts the two fired at him, much to their shock.
"What the...?!", Bardock exclaimed as King Vegeta gasped.
Frieza laughed maniacally before then firing his blast straight toward both Bardock and King Vegeta since they were in its way toward the planet. The two screamed loudly as the blast enveloped the both of them, even causing their respective armor to break apart.
"K... Kak... Kakarot...", Bardock thought before seeing a vision of Goku facing Frieza on Planet Namek and chuckling as he continued his thoughts. "Kakarot, my son... you must succeed where King Vegeta and I have failed...! One day.., you must rise up to redeem the pride of our race...!"
"Tarba, my queen...! It is up to you. With or without help, the Saiyans must flourish once again and put the vile emperor down for good...! Our honor demands it...!", King Vegeta thought.
"KAKAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!", Bardock finally shouted out loud.
It wasn't long before Frieza's blast even hit the Frieza Force soldiers caught in its warpath before finally hitting the planet. As a result, the planet wound up cracking apart and exploding. But as this went on, he was unaware of a certain spaceship looking at the destruction from afar.
"That's the guy, right there. Bardock.", one of the squadron said.
"He doesn't look so threatening to me.", another commented before becoming surprised. "But, wait. Why is King Vegeta out there with him? And how is he still alive?"
Then, it went back to relief.
"Oh, well. It won't be for much longer, anyway. They're both space dust. And there goes the whole monkey farm. Now, this is live entertainment."
Then, he noticed something.
"What's this? Someone's getting away. Magnify the image.", a squadron soldier demanded.
"Right. I'm on it, Salza.", a third soldier agreed, doing so.
"I want an interior view as well.", Salza said.
Then, the interior view showed Goku inside the pod, asleep.
"That's it. Got it."
"Where does he think he's going?", Salza asked as the soldier who magnified the image also took notice of the star map.
"It looks like he's headed toward a planet called Earth. Intercept course?"
"Yes.", Salza replied.
But then, a cold voice echoed from behind as the source ascended from beneath.
"Belay that order."
"Sire.", the first soldier said as he and the third bowed to him.
"Yes, sire.", the third soldier added.
"But... someone is escaping!", Salza said in worry.
"Frieza's the one in charge of this quadrant. Let him clean up his own mess. I've got 7 planets to destroy by the end of the day. Why should I allow myself to get behind schedule just to cover his mistake?", the commander explained as he got closer to the monitor in his own space pod. "Besides, it's just a Saiyan child. He's no threat to us."
The commander's name was Cooler: the brother of Frieza and commander of his armored squadron. He looked at Frieza's excitement distastefully.
"Ugh, look at him. What foolishness! He's so pleased with himself, he's blinded by his arrogant pride! That could be any one of those Saiyan survivors in that space pod if not King Vegeta for all he knows.", Cooler jeered before turning away from the monitor.
"You've got a lot to learn..., brother.", Cooler said before the planet exploded in the monitor.
"Let's get out of here.", Cooler said before his ship then took off as the planet exploded, much to Frieza's manic joy.
"Well, well! Now, THAT is beautiful! See? Look, Dodoria, Zarbon! Look at the fireworks! AREN'T THEY SPLENDID?!", Frieza shouted before laughing maniacally.
Little did Frieza know that Cooler had every right to scold him. Moments before the destruction, the Saiyans had already fled their doomed Homeworld, leaving behind their scouters in the planet to give Frieza the slip. In fact, out of the many pods that have fled, only two of them landed on Planet Namek. When it did, two women stepped out of their respective pods after they crash-landed, surprising the Namekians who came to survey the crash.
Narrator: "Little could the evil emperor realize that the Saiyans have actually managed to cheat death. Mere moments before the fall of Goku's father, Bardock, as well as King Vegeta, the leader of the Saiyans, they fled Planet Vegeta, leaving behind their scouters so as no one among Frieza's faction would suspect their survival. With that tactic carried out, the Saiyans were left with no alternative but to disperse across the universe to avoid the Frieza Force's detection. It was almost a year before two lone Saiyans arrived on Planet Namek: Gine and Tarba."
One of the two women then looked up to the Namekians, one of which glanced toward them. His name is Nail.
"You two don't seem to harbor any ill intent. Come. Grand Elder Guru will need to see you.", Nail offered.
Then, they were brought before Grand Elder Guru.
"So, you two must be the Saiyans under Frieza's employ.", Guru said.
"Not anymore. Frieza destroyed our home. He happily did it, thinking he destroyed all of us.", Tarba explained.
"He even took out Bardock and King Vegeta along with it...!", Gine added.
"He what?!", Nail said in shock.
Normally, he wouldn't exactly care for the Saiyans if they're hostile, but to hear that Frieza is capable of destroying an entire planet was something unheard of for the Namekians. Not even Guru liked hearing this one bit, especially if it's the truth.
"Oh, dear...! I'm so sorry...! That is quite tragic, what you two had to go through.", Guru said.
"There's no need to apologize, Grand Elder. It wasn't your doing.", Gine assured.
"Still, we can't let this slide. Especially not with what he tried to do to us. Not to mention the way he treated us like his slaves. Worse, trash!", Tarba added.
"He's called the Evil Emperor of the Universe for a reason. But still..., you have my condolences for your husbands, at least.", Nail said.
"So, you wish to restore and redeem your race and eliminate the monster responsible, is that it?", Guru asked.
"If we can...", Gine responded.
"Hmm... Very well."
"What? Grand Elder, I...!", Nail began.
"Calm down, Nail. I sense no ill intent on those wishes. Perhaps they are worthy of using the Dragon Balls. I will need you to guide them to each one in order to gather them.", Guru assured, surprising them.
"Dragon Balls? What are they?", Tarba puzzled.
"They're the 7 magic wish-orbs designed to summon the Namekian dragon Porunga, who can grant 3 wishes per year.", Nail explained.
"They can... they can really grant wishes?", Gine asked.
"There are limits, though not very many, but yes.", Nail replied.
Hearing this was enough to leave Gine and Tarba excited and hopeful, Gine, most of all.
"Bardock..., I swear... if there's a way to bring you and King Vegeta back, we will!", Gine thought.
Meanwhile, on Earth, Kakarot was crying until he was found by Grandpa Gohan.
Narrator: "Meanwhile, it came to be that this child from a faraway planet fell to Earth."
"Oh, dear. I can't very well leave you out here all on your own.", Grandpa Gohan said, holding the baby as his space pod was nearby, not too far from where he found Goku.
Narrator: "And thanks to the kindness of a stranger, he would make this new world his home."
"I think I'll call you... Goku.", Grandpa Gohan said.
Then, it showed a series of flashbacks starting with Goku swinging on a rope when he was a kid and later meeting Bulma for the first time. After that, it then showed the two riding on the latter's vehicle together as well as them watching a romantic show. Next, it showed Shenron being summoned by Pilaf. After that, it then showed Goku racing with Krillin and Master Roshi before later flying and then, much later, ramming into Tien's abdomen. After that, it then showed King Piccolo preparing his attack and Goku drinking the Holy Water and later ramming his fist right through Demon King Piccolo, forcing him to cough out an egg, which later cracked a bit and showed a young Piccolo Jr. Then, years later, it showed Goku and Piccolo preparing to fight in the tournament only for the latter to eventually lose the way Goku defeated Tien sometime before. Then, it showed Goku marrying Chi-Chi as he was in a white suit and the black-haired woman was wearing a white dress. Then, it showed a lone demon castle in which the Pilaf Gang were investigating inside.
Narrator: "This is where the story begins. The years passed and the baby Goku grew to be a strong, healthy boy. But his life would be forever changed when he met a girl named Bulma and joined her on her quest to find the Dragon Balls: 7 magic orbs that, when gathered together, would call forth the dragon Shenron to grant a single wish. Goku met many new friends in his travels and honed his skills as a pupil of the great Martial Artist, Master Roshi. Skills that were continually put to the test as he was forced to defend himself and his friends against a host of dangerous opponents. Goku's toughest test came when he faced the powerful villain, King Piccolo. But the help of the sage Korin allowed Goku to tap into vast reserves of still-hidden strength. In the battle that followed, the true extent of Goku's otherworldly powers was revealed. And with a mighty charge, King Piccolo's quest for World Domination came crashing to a halt. However, with his dying breath, King Piccolo had time to hatch one final scheme and 3 years later, Piccolo Jr. appeared before a grown-up Goku, looking to avenge his father and resume his evil plans. Another epic battle ensued, and though the two were almost equally matched, in the end, the new Piccolo still could not withstand Goku's might. 5 years have passed since that fateful day. Goku married his childhood sweetheart, Chi-Chi, and the two have enjoyed a quiet life together while the world remained at peace. Until now..."
"Thanks to decades of gut-wrenching perseverance and research, Goku's victory over us is the last pain I'll feel in searching for the Dragon Balls. By day's end, my reckoning will be at hand and all of humanity will know the name Emperor Pilaf! It'll be synonymous with fear and rage! And with power and strength! The world will know me as King! King Emperor Pilaf!", Pilaf shouted.
Unfortunately for him, as he spoke, a similarly small demon with a paler skin tone overheard the noise and walked forward.
"How dare you intrude upon the castle of Garlic Jr.!", Garlic Jr. snapped, catching Pilaf and the others' attention.
Panicked, they dodged every attack Garlic Jr. tossed at them, all of which were just 3 energy spheres.
"If anyone is going to rule the world, that honor should go to me!", Garlic Jr. shouted, preparing to attack again, making them fearful.
Of course, after a moment, he smirked.
"And yet... you said something about Dragon Balls. They seem to be very critical for whatever you and your motley crew are plotting.", Garlic Jr. sneered.
Pilaf blanched in shock as did Mai and Shou.
"Whatever do you mean? We're not plotting anything!", Pilaf fibbed in panic.
"Of course you are! I heard your whole plan as I heard all the commotion!", Garlic Jr. glared, frightening them.
Then, he cleared his throat.
"But it doesn't matter. Because you three are going to help me collect all 7 Dragon Balls so I can gain my wish for immortality! Comply and I just may yet let you three live.", Garlic Jr. warned.
"But what about MY wish?! For World Domination!", Pilaf exclaimed.
"Yeah, we don't know who you are, but Pilaf worked too hard for this!', Shou agreed.
"That's right! So, why should we let you rule the world?!", Mai added.
"Oh, please. If anyone is going to rule the world, it's going to be me! Once I achieve immortality, of course.", Garlic Jr. retorted. "And besides... Oh, boys!"
Just then, 3 minions suddenly turned up, catching the Pilaf Gang off-guard as they yelped.
"My minions are more formidable than your own. That is, if you have any.", Garlic Jr. smirked.
"I hate to say it, Pilaf, but it looks like he has us beat.", Shou said.
"You're lucky I need you three. Tell me. How is it that you speak of getting the 7 Dragon Balls as if they're easy to collect?", Garlic Jr. asked.
"And why should I tell you that?", Pilaf glared.
"Do you not see my minions? They could very well kill you if I ask them to.", Garlic Jr. threatened as the 3 minions chuckled, making them blanch nervously again before Pilaf grumbled.
"Okay, fine! The way to find Dragon Balls more easily is with this Dragon Radar.", Pilaf explained, holding out the radar. "If there are any dragon balls within the vicinity, it'll show up there."
"Ah...! What an excellent time-saver.", Garlic Jr. smirked. "Soon, Piccolo, you will fall and I will become immortal!"
"Only one problem. If you kill Piccolo, the Dragon Balls will become useless. After all, Kami is the one who made the Dragon Balls, and you must already know that he and Piccolo are one and the same, even if they are separate, don't you?", Pilaf responded.
"What?!", Garlic Jr. exclaimed before growling and then sighing. "Fine, we'll just at least make certain that he doesn't try and stop me from achieving immortality. That way, if he does try anything, it won't even matter. Because it will be too late."
As Garlic Jr. smirked, the Pilaf Gang gulped in fear.
Later, Piccolo was yelling out as he unleashed some kind of power that broke apart two mountains into pieces. He panted as the dust settled.
"Goku... Someday, I'm gonna wipe that smile off your face.", Piccolo vowed.
Suddenly, he became puzzled upon seeing someone closing in on him. He even sensed another coming right behind him. But what he could not account for was a 3rd emerging from below and hitting him in the gut before the 2nd minion hit him with strikes from behind and from the side. It wasn't long before the other 2 followed suit, overwhelming him as the Pilaf Gang, who waited nearby, watched in shock.
"Are you seeing this, Shou?", Mai asked.
"I'm seeing it, Mai. But I still can't believe it!", Shou replied.
"And now, for the cherry-on-top.", Garlic Jr. smirked before buffing up and growing taller, never mind darker in skin tone, much to the Pilaf Gang's surprise just as Piccolo opened his eyes and was barely able to see him as the sunlight shone behind Garlic Jr.
"What the hell...?!", Piccolo exclaimed before his back hit a rock.
"My minions? You know what to do!", Garlic Jr. ordered.
"Yes, sir!", the minions agreed.
Then, Garlic Jr. and his minions all aimed at Piccolo and fired blasts at him, not only hitting him, but also causing the rock behind him to crumble.
"YOU IDIOT! DIDN'T YOU HEAR WHAT I TOLD YOU EARLIER?!", Pilaf shouted in panic.
"Calm down, you crybaby.", Garlic Jr. snided. "We didn't kill him. We simply held back just enough to be sure he doesn't get in the way. This is only a taste of our full power."
"You call this holdin' back?", Shou asked, still shocked.
"At this point, the best we can hope for is that he'd lose consciousness. But even if he stayed conscious after that, by the time, he comes after us, it'll already be too late. After all, Piccolo and Kami are one in body and spirit. And if any of what you said is anything to go by, I can't lose this chance for immortality, now can I?", Garlic Jr. responded before turning to his minions.
"Now, let us search for those Dragon Balls.", Garlic Jr. ordered before he flew off as did his minions, who also carried the Pilaf Gang with them.
As soon as the coast was clear, as Garlic Jr. had assured, Piccolo was revealed to still be alive as he got up from among the debris, albeit in some pain, looking up in shock.
"Th... This can't be...!", Piccolo strained.
Meanwhile, in the lookout, Kami was just as startled.
"It can't be...! Piccolo survived, but... but he was defeated by...", Kami began before looking up. "Garlic Jr...!"
In Paozu Forest, Gohan was studying outside.
"Some cicadas are larva for 13 years. But most of them are larva for 17. Whoa, that's crazy.", Gohan said in surprise, turning a page of his book. "Don't know if I can do it. Just living underneath for 1 day's enough. That's gotta be tough."
Just then, a voice called out.
"Gohan! Dinner's ready! Time to eat!"
"And I'll bet they don't even eat."
Gohan then closed the book and walked over to his home. But it was right then that the Ox King was just turning up in his vehicle on his way to the house.
"Hey, Gohan! Lookin' good!", Ox King waved to Gohan.
"Grandpa, hi!", Gohan greeted just as Chi-Chi went out the door.
"Papa! What are you doing here?", Chi-Chi asked.
She walked out and caught up to Gohan as the Ox King got off his vehicle.
"Visiting my grandson.", Ox King responded.
"Mm-hmm. Just like you promised.", Gohan agreed.
"Of course. I always keep my word.", Ox King said.
He then got out an assortment of presents, most of which are books.
"And I got a present for ya."
"Whoa...! Thanks!", Gohan thanked before laughing as he hugged Ox King by the leg while Chi-Chi grinned.
"Your mother told me that I shouldn't get ya anything but books. She never told me how darn heavy they are when you get 'em in a bunch.", Ox King explained with a giggle.
Suddenly, a present started to fall down before landing on Gohan.
"Papa, stop joking around.", Chi-Chi said as the rest collapsed on the ground, too.
Gohan looked up and saw the Ox King suddenly tensing in pain.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?", Chi-Chi asked.
"Yeah, are you okay?", Gohan asked, lifting his hat.
Suddenly, Ox King began to collapse before going on his knees and then falling down toward Gohan!
"Hey, be careful!", Gohan said in worry before running off to avoid getting crushed.
"Papa!", Chi-Chi shouted before Ox King finally landed on the ground.
Chi-Chi would've continued on, but Gohan hugged her by the leg. As soon as he turned around, Gohan and Chi-Chi have both noticed the cause behind Ox King's collapsing: a demon. Little could they realize that it was one of Garlic Jr.'s minions who attacked Piccolo earlier.
"Wh... Who the heck are you?", Chi-Chi puzzled.
But no answer came.
"And why are you here?!", Chi-Chi shouted.
"I came for the thing on that kid's head. I want the dragon ball.", the demon replied.
"Gohan, go inside. Now.", Chi-Chi urged.
"But Mom...!", Gohan began.
"Get going.", Chi-Chi urged.
Panicked as he is, Gohan left as instructed while Chi-Chi took off her apron and got into a fighting stance. But the demon smirked, knowing one simple thing: he's not alone.
"Mom! There's another one there!", Gohan shouted.
"Up there! Up there!"
Chi-Chi turned around and saw another demon up on the roof. Even worse, there was a third demon showing himself out of the house. He chuckled before putting three pears in his mouth and eating them all. After looking cautiously between him and the other demons, Chi-Chi focused solely on the one up front.
"All right!', Chi-Chi said.
She lunged forward to try and attack. But the demon held out his hand and suddenly stopped her, causing her to roll toward the ground. That prompted Goku, who was underwater at the time to stop whatever he was doing, as if he sensed something wrong.
"Mom!", Gohan shouted, running over to her.
As for Goku, he quickly emerged from the water and took off, carrying a big fish with him. He also grabbed his clothes with him as he ran off.
"Chi-Chi!", Goku shouted.
Speaking of, Chi-Chi was now on the ground.
"Gohan...! Go... go now...! Hurry...!", Chi-Chi weakly pleaded.
"Quick...! Run...! Hurry...!", Ox King urged.
So, Gohan ran, only to be cornered by the demons as Goku, now in his clothes, ran across the hill while carrying a big fish. Gohan ran only to be stopped by the Pilaf Gang.
"Shou, Mai, go grab the kid and let's high-tail it outta here.", Pilaf urged.
"Uh..., Emperor Pilaf?", Mai asked.
"What?", Pilaf asked.
"Is this really a good idea?", Mai asked.
"Yeah. What if Goku finds out about this and comes after us?", Shou agreed.
"Well, even if he did, once Garlic Jr. becomes immortal, Goku wouldn't stand a chance.", Pilaf responded. "And besides, it's HIS wrath we have to worry about, not Goku's. For once. So, can we please hurry this up?"
Sadly, Shou and Mai nodded as they spoke.
"Yes, sir..."
Gohan whimpered as Mai picked him up sadly.
"Sorry about this...", Mai apologized before she, Pilaf, and Shou left.
Moments later, Goku rushed back, dropping the fish.
"Chi-Chi!", Goku shouted before catching up to her and picking her up. "Chi-Chi...! What happened here, Chi-Chi?"
"I'm... sorry... I tried, but... they came and kidnapped Gohan...!", Chi-Chi said weakly.
"Gohan? Who kidnapped Gohan?", Goku asked.
"Pilaf...!", Chi-Chi responded, shocking Goku.
"Pilaf?!"
"Yes... but... he's not alone. I think he's... working with someone else... he said he was after the Dragon Balls...", Chi-Chi explained.
"The Dragon Balls?! Where did they go? Chi-Chi!", Goku said in worry, Chi-Chi on the verge of losing consciousness.
Meanwhile, at the castle, Gohan sobbed as Mai looked on, worried for him as did Shou.
"Poor kid...", Shou said.
Pilaf, however, was focused on another matter: the dragon balls. Speaking of which, four more were not only present, but resonating as they flashed.
"Would you look at that? 5 out of 7 already.", Pilaf grinned.
"Exactly. That means there are 2 more we must get. And then, once we have all 7 Dragon Balls, I will ask for the gift of immortality.", Garlic Jr. said with the demons bowing in agreement.
"Yes."
"Immortality...?!", Pilaf, Shou, and Mai said in surprise.
"That's right. We're so close.", Garlic Jr. said.
"Thanks to the radar, we know the positions of the remaining 2, sir. It's only a matter of time before we obtain them.", a demon explained.
"That's just what I wanted to hear. Kami is said to be mortal, but when I have the power of the Dragon Balls, I will live for eternity through every battle. And the first battle is here when we take our revenge on our enemies by destroying this worthless planet and every living thing on it!", Garlic Jr. shouted before laughing maniacally.
"Destroy it?!", the gang exclaimed.
"Now, hold on just a minute! You said you were going to achieve World Domination, not blow up the planet!", Pilaf shouted.
"I only just said that we'll destroy it. I didn't say I was going to blow it up. After which, I will rebuild the planet into one in my image. All in all, destroying it and blowing it up are 2 different things, believe it or not.", Garlic Jr. said.
"Are they really?", Shou asked before Garlic Jr. growled at him, making the dog shake in fear.
"I want to go home! Take me home, now!", Gohan shouted.
One of the demons stepped toward Gohan, not pleased.
"If you know what's good for you, you keep that mouth of yours shut!", a demon shouted, threatening to attack, that is until Mai ran over and picked him up.
"That's enough of that! You leave him alone!", Mai shouted.
"How dare you...?!", the demon snarled.
"My dad's Goku: the strongest fighter in the world! And when he gets here, you're gonna be sorry!", Gohan shouted.
"What's that? Goku?", Garlic Jr. puzzled. "And you're telling me your father is the one who defeated Piccolo at the World Martial Arts Tournament?"
"That's right! So, you better let me go or else!", Gohan warned.
"Under normal circumstances, I'd be worried that Goku would come after us and beat us into a pulp, but things will be different. Because Garlic Jr. here will be immortal by the time your daddy gets here.", Pilaf smirked.
2 of the demons turned to each other while a third, as puzzled as he is, smirked.
"What a baby.", the demon chuckled before the rest laughed.
"You know, we defeated Piccolo, too, kid. We're not too shabby."
"You did? Really", Gohan asked.
"Like taking candy from a baby."
"Of course the only reason he's alive is because we need those dragon balls.", another explained. "But still, we've had plenty of fun with him."
He and the other two laughed as Mai held onto him.
"Hey, don't let what they said get to you.", Mai said.
"Wow. Talk about motherly instinct.", Shou said. "Actually, more like sibling instinct, come to think of it."
"Yeah. One kidnapped child and she gets so uppity about it.", Pilaf said as Garlic Jr. sensed something peculiar within him.
"I sense a mysterious power coming from that boy I cannot place. But such power should be cultivated. He could be quite useful to me if he's trained according to my wishes.", Garlic Jr. thought before speaking to Gohan.
"Gohan, you will become my new disciple.", Garlic Jr. said.
"Disciple?", Mai puzzled.
"What's that mean?", Gohan puzzled before the 3 demons became puzzled momentarily and smirked.
"Ja'mei, you get to live. He's going to train you.", the blue-skinned demon grinned before the taller, dark-skinned demon chuckled.
"Soon, you'll be as powerful as my 3 elite warriors: Nikki, Sensho, and Ginger.", Garlic Jr. said, pointing to his three demon minions.
"Those three?", Gohan asked.
"Oh, so that's their names.", Shou said.
"Disciples, huh? Maybe we could use some of our own once we get our own sector somewhere later.", Pilaf said. "You know, after the reconstruction and all that."
But Mai had doubts, looking towards Gohan.
"I'm not so sure..."
Meanwhile, Goku was at Kame House, explaining the situation.
"They kidnapped Gohan, but Chi-Chi said they came for something else: they came for the Dragon Ball.", Goku said as the radar showed the 5 gathered dragon balls.
"Look! 5 dragon balls were gathered already.", Bulma said in surprise.
"At least we know where they are.", Boxsa said.
"Where are they?", Goku asked.
"It's in the south.", Master Roshi said.
"Yeah, somewhere around the red sea.", Bulma added.
"Mind if I borrow your radar?', Goku asked, puzzling them.
Goku quickly took the radar and took off, running toward his nimbus.
"Goku, these villains are tough! They bested Chi-Chi and Ox King like they were speed-bumps! Don't forget that!", Roshi warned.
"I won't!", Goku responded as he got on and took off.
"Be careful, Goku!", Bulma shouted before he then took off into the air as Krillin looked up into the sky.
"Goku...", Krillin said in concern.
Then, Boxsa went out and joined him.
"You worried about him, huh?", Boxsa asked.
"Yeah.", Krillin responded.
"Honestly, it feels like Demon King Piccolo all over again, because I've only ever seen him that mad during the time he was there.", Boxsa said.
After a moment, he turned to Krillin and spoke.
"By the way, I might have a way for us to follow him and try to lend as much help as we can.", Boxsa said.
"Really? How?", Krillin asked.
"Well, let's just say that it's a good thing I never leave home without transportation.", Boss said, holding out his capsule case.
Then, it showed Goku zooming past the skies with Garlic Jr.'s silhouette seen behind him as the villain smirked before the scene froze.
Narrator: Garlic Jr. and his minions have kidnapped Gohan. And now, they're already on the verge of collecting all 7 Dragon Balls and granting his wish for immortality! Can the demonic menace be stopped in time? Find out, next Dragon Ball Z!
A/N: And that concludes the first chapter. As for what would happen with Pilaf, Shou, and Mai, well, let's just say it'd involve a certain curse. But first, my friend has words for those most worried about Mai being a pedophile.
'Hey, everyone, first of all, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter of this new story that's connected to the Rewrites of Dragon Ball Super and GT. I really do. Now, for those that go up in arms about Mai's age as well as her relationship with Trunks, I got a bone to pick with you. First off, the age thing. Yes, I know she was basically a grown woman being interested in a teenager, but here's the thing: SHE WAS MADE YOUNGER BY A MAGIC DRAGON; IT COUNTS AS HER BEING A KID! Second, the relationship. It was clearly written in to add to the story for comedy purposes and to give us a sweet moment in-between the action so all of you STOP FREAKING OUT ABOUT IT! So, anyway, Mai's whole story will be completely different here as well as Pilaf and Shu's. I hope that all of you will at least try and give it a chance. And if you don't like it, then (and I am sorry if this is rude) GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! With that being said, I hope you stick around to see the rest of this story and this whole year for Dragon Ball content as a whole.'
Well, you do have to admit, he has a point. Either way, I'm sure the story would address some problems in some pretty unexpected ways. After all, while we discussed them, even I didn't expect them. That's how unexpected it is. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, too. :)
