Standing by the fountain Andy let out a shaky breath. She was crying and she couldn't control her tears. She was in love with Miranda but she knew that Miranda didn't feel the same way. Miranda was also just coming out of a messy divorce, what would she want with her anyway. She sent a text to Nigel telling him to tell Miranda that she went for a walk to get herself in check.
She walked, and walked, and walked. She got to the stairs and just sat there overlooking the city as it started getting dark. The way the lights illuminated the city made it look like candles in the windows and it took her breath away.
She sat there and she wondered when it had all started. When had she fallen for her boss? Then she realized that it had happened slowly but surely. When she first saw Miranda she was tongue tied and she could barely speak. When she started to work for her she noticed that Miranda wasn't that hard on her as she was to Emily. Maybe she felt something for Andy, no she would never love anyone like me. I'm plain, I come from Ohio and we come from two different worlds. I'm better off just going back to pack my things and head home. That's when she smelled it, the perfume that only Miranda wore. No, it's just wishful thinking. She got up and she began to walk again, still thinking. She got up and she walked to the rail where she stood looking at the magnificent view.
Andy: What does this mean? Do I just go back and face Miranda or do I go home?
She didn't even realize she had said the last part out loud until she heard an angelic voice.
Miranda: You come and face me
Turning around Andy saw Miranda standing behind her.
Andy: Miranda?
Miranda just nodded
Andy: Why?
Miranda: Maybe because I was concerned when you didn't come back. I got Nigel to track you by your phone.
Andy: Oh
Miranda: Did you think about whatever it was that you needed to think about?
Andy: For the most part, I'm still confused.
Miranda: Would you like to enlighten me?
Andy: No. If I did it may come back to hurt me
Miranda: Is it because of how you feel for me?
Staring out at the city Andy just nodded her head
Andy: Miranda, I...
Miranda: You know you're not the first to fall in love with me.
Andy: I know
Miranda: But you're the only one who has meant what she said. You also prove it everyday.
Andy: I just want to be different from the others. But what would a woman like you want with me anyway?
Miranda came to stand beside Andy
Miranda: What would I want with you? Your smile is like sunshine, your eyes as brown as the earth, your hair as gorgeous as the waves in the ocean, and your lips like a rose. You make me feel things that I haven't felt in a long time.
Andy looked into Miranda's eyes
Andy: Why didn't you tell me?
Miranda: I was going to as soon as the divorce was over but you took a walk so I followed you and here we are.
Andy looked at Miranda
Andy: You followed me all the way here?
Miranda: Yes, I wasn't going to let you get away without knowing how I felt.
Andy moved a little closer
Andy: Would it be too early to kiss you?
Miranda: Please
Andy moved in for a heartfelt kiss to Miranda, she felt Miranda wrap her up in her arms and kiss her.
She had never been kissed like that, not even by Nate. This kiss made her feel light headed and out of breath. She felt as if she was flying in the clouds. When they pulled back they both smiled.
Once the two women broke apart Miranda smiled at the angel before her.
Looking deep into her eyes she knew that the love she felt for Andrea was far greater than she had felt for any of her husbands and she would spend the rest of her life showing Andrea just how much she loved her.
Miranda: Have dinner with me tonight
Andy: I'd love to
With a final kiss and a last look at the city the two women walked hand in hand back up the stairs and to their awaited car to take them back to their hotel.
Andy's last thought for that night was: This city truly is magical.
