Guest F: Yes, Death Note is back, the rush is back! Good to see you again.

TheAceKristen: Thank you; it really would be something to see this get animated. I figured that readers would be upset that this is an epilogue extension and not a sequel but I don't think I have enough content and creativity to make a sequel. When I wrote the first story, I had no sequel in mind but I knew somewhere in my mind, that there were so many things I wanted to try out so that's why I made it long and have six different arcs. I'm all burned out for the most part; I don't have any more ideas for a 108-chapter sequel. I thought I was empty of ideas but I had only two more ideas to use so I'm going to use them. I know it's not a sequel but I figured you guys would be grateful to see more content, either way. As for giving the readers a mystery, I'll see what I can do.

I hope to see more returning readers soon in this fic.

November 9th, 2055

Sitting in her cubicle, Rain looks over some paperwork and begins initialing each one. Licking her lips, she sighs before using a paperclip to connect all eight papers before placing them in a manilla folder. Leaning back in her chair, Rain reaches over and clicks a button on her computer in a lazy-like manner. Switching to international news, she checks for any updates on the situation in England. Seeing a recent broadcast from thirty minutes ago, she rewinds the tape to the beginning before playing.

She sits through about fifteen minutes of useless current events in London before the story on 'Hydra vs Kira' is finally reported.

Rain rewinds, making sure she gets the full report.

"Now, this is the moment those Kira fanatic blokes have been waiting for," the female newscaster says, "personally, I don't agree with it but I don't care; my job is to report the news and that's what I gotta do." She runs a hand through her disheveled hair before rubbing her eyes in a drowsy state. "Well…" She shakes her head. "I don't want to say the news so I'll just have the guest speaker appear and allow him to explain everything."

Rain's brows arch when she sees someone in a British Royal Marine officer uniform with a Hydra mask appear on the show.

Gintik Hagmay appears behind Rain. "Is this guy really appearing on a live TV show for the world to see wearing a military uniform and an unsightly mask?"

"Bizzare," Rain says simply.

"What's bizarre?" Saiko approaches Rain and puts a hand on her shoulder. She looks at the computer screen.

"Nice getup you got there," the newscaster says to Hydra, "I just love the whole juxtaposition of a formal uniform of an officer with the head of something so ridiculous; I think it is just lovely. Seriously, ten out of ten."

"Let's skip the formalities, lass," a Scottish accent comes through. "I just want to get this statement done and out of the way because the coppers are doing an investigation on me." He looks to the camera. "Kira, I don't know what you have done, I don't care how you did it, but after what you've done, killing the king of England, I will never forgive you. I'm sure you can understand, considering that someone with a Royal Marine background killed the prime minister of Japan. But… irrelevant. The last thing I want in this war is for there to be innocent casualties and I know you desire the same. This is why… to show you that I mean no harm, I'm calling for a ceasefire. You will not be hearing from my men or me anytime in the future. At least until this investigation is called off. I did not get to where i am in the military by playing dirty but by having a code of honor and I think you know about honor more than anyone, Kira. And… that is all I have to say on the Hydra show and thank you for tuning in; try the veal, lass."

Rain pauses the broadcast.

"Wow, take a look at that," Saiko smiles, "looks like Hydra is backing off."

Rain's hair and eyes turn gray. Pausing for a moment, she blinks once before looking at Saiko.

"It's not over yet. He's backing off but Hydra is going to resume his battle after the investigation is over." Rain drums her fingers against the keyboard. "If I were you, I'd talk to the police chief and tell him to prepare for any possible countermeasures."

"But we're not targets of Hydra."

"True, Saiko, true, but this is our country. Hydra is going to do something after this so-called investigation of his is over. We gotta prepare ourselves in case of something deadly."

"Invasion, insurgency?"

"Exactly. I would tell the chief but he's not exactly a fan of me. I don't know; it probably has something to do with the fact I solve his Rubik's cube six times over."

"Yeah, most likely." Saiko claps her hands together. "Okay then, well, I'll go make a statement to the chief and ask him to prepare for any countermeasures against Hydra and his army." As she turns, she pauses. "Again, Rain, this will most likely be a job for the military, not the police, so..."

"But the police do a better job at investigating," Rain shrugs. "Don't prove the naysayers wrong; let's get to investigating when we have the chance."

Military Base, England

With Hydra

"Mate-o," Jim Voight says to the Scottish Hydra. "You can rest easy now and remove your mask."

The Scottish Hydra removes his mask before tossing it to his successor. The successor puts on the mask.

"Thanks a bunch, mate-o."

The former Scottish Hydra - Michael Roker - pats the new Hydra on the shoulder.

"So, I wish for you to keep me up to date with everything, mate-o," Hydra demands.

"Communications between Hydras is limited," Roker clarifies, "as I'm sure you've heard in the briefing." He holds up a manilla folder. "Our inside-men... and women in Japan have been compiling useful data for us, plenty of useful data for us to use. Everything you need to know is in these papers." He drops it on the table. "We trust you'll do everything well in the name of Hydra."

"I sure will, mate-o." Hydra picks up the folders. He reads over several pieces of information. "Already looking into suspects already?"

Roker laughs. "Do you remember the FBI agents killed by Kira almost fifty years ago?"

"I wasn't even born yet, mate-o."

"Sorry, lad. Anyway, in Japan, when the original Kira was being investigated, some lad decided to send twelve FBI agents to help out in the investigation. Even when they were investigating Kira secretly, they all died of heart attacks, all twelve of them. But this was before the peak of human technology, when there wasn't a camera on every block and every phone wasn't being recorded. Lads and lasses nowadays are much more sophisticated at tackling cybercrime, yet Kira still managed to find a way to live. We don't know what they're doing exactly but if we use the street cams to our advantage, then we can keep our insiders safe."

Hydra nods, a smile glowing behind his mask. "We're going to do the same thing the FBI did. But this time, Kira can't kill our spies in public and they're not foreigners so they won't stand out so easily. Perfect, whoever Kira is, we'll cause them to crumble from the inside just as they 'did' to our beloved king of England. So where should we start?"

Roker pats him on the back. "You're on your own, Hydra because I gotta go to the lavvy; I'll be right back."

Roker walks away, leaving Hydra to look over the manilla folders.

"Now then, if I were Kira, what would I do next?" Hydra strokes the jaw of his rubber mask. "Let's see."

His world turns gray around him.

If I were Kira, I would take advantage of this ceasefire. I would assume that I would take advantage of this ceasefire. Our identities are being hidden from the public so Kira won't know how to get to us. But if I were him, I'd control my men to information on all Hydra people. And I'll do the exact same thing. Our inside men and women in Japan will do just that. We'll use them to get information on Kira but picking a place to start will be the real challenge. Chances are, Kira is a citizen and not a soldier of the JSDF so I would start with the civvies.

Back then, Kira had to look up information and there were even rumors that Kira may have hacked into the police database to get access to the names and faces of criminals, given the law that was passed back in the day forbidding the public display of criminal identities. That law was abolished a few times when Kira vanished. It is still abolished to this day. Now, where would I start?

I'd start with the police. Kira has anatics stretching all over the planet and having a Kira supporter in the police force is no exception. If I want to get information on Kira, I need to sic our insiders on the Kira fanatics in the police station because they're the ones who'll have access to the most information beneficial to Kira.

Yes, I'll start there.

Hydra grabs a phone. Making a phone call overseas, he waits patiently for the person on the other end to pick up.

"Hello?" a heavy Japanese accent comes back.

"I need the names and faces of every single police officer in Japan, specifically, those who have a history of being Kira supporters."

"When do you need it?"

"Yesterday."

"Right away."

Hydra hangs up.

Once I get information on all Kira supporters in the police force, then I'll have an advantage over Kira. Yes, I will have an advantage. Hell fucking yeah.

Recording Booth

"'No,'" Angel records in a deep voice, "'We can't do this, no. Think about your mother, Akira, is this what she would want?'' He changes his tone to a female voice. "'My mother is dead so what difference does it make?'" Male voice. "'No, I won't let you go through with this; stop it!'" Female voice. "'Goodbye, Hiro." Male voice. "'Akira!"

Pausing for a moment, Angel adjusts his headphones as he looks at the window in the recording booth. The director gives a thumbs-up.

"Cut," the director yells. "I gotta say, IV, I thought you would be out of breath by now."

"Nah, I trained my voice to be durable as hell." Angel drank from a water bottle. Wincing at the taste, he reaches over and pours a bag of liquid IV into his drink. "How many more takes do we have to do?"

"We're done for the day, at least for your lines."

"Good, finally." Angle tugs on his tie. "Thanks a lot. Well, I'm going to get going now. Are you sure you don't want me to stick around to do a few more takes?"

"We're sure, IV, but thank you."

"No problem."

Angel gathers his things before leaving the recording booth. After bedding farewell to everyone, he steps through the front doors and into the parking lot under a black sky. Looking at the clouds above him, he checks his watch before taking out his phone. Sending a text out, he drinks the rest of his liquid IV water before a car pulls up. Being the sweet baby brother he was, Archer gets out of the car and opens the door for his dear older twin brother.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Angel looks over.

"So, how was work today?" Archer asks after shifting gears.

"Boring." Angel snuggles into his seat. "I got to get up early in the morning tomorrow because I'm meeting with a mangaka and discussing to him what voices he would like me to use for his adaptation."

"Ooh, what anime is it going to be?"

Angel laughs. "That's need-to-know."

"Roger that, whatever you say little, brother. Little Angel 'Infinity Voices' Yagami."

"I'm older than you, arrow boy."

"I'll pretend for five seconds in my mind then I'm not."

"You'll be pretty disappointed when you come back down to earth."

Archer looks at him. "I thought you were the one who came down to earth, Angel."

"I am. And so did big sis Rain."

"It hurts my heart that I'm the only one with a name that doesn't involve coming down to earth. We're gods. Maybe I should go through a name change." He pauses. "Yeah, I'm going to change my name to something awesome."

With Hydra

Holding a handful of manilla folders in his hand, Hydra chuckles as he looks over several files. Holding his phone, he opens a translation app. Reading the Japanese writing in English, he smirks at the information his brain is picking up.

"Huh, interesting. Only five people in the police force are Kira fanatics. Kira supporters are one thing but Kira fanatics? Okay then, I'm going to use these people to my advantage. Tezuka, Saiko, Murata, Watanabe, and Yagami. I'll gather dirt on them and I'll blackmail them into giving me all police information on Kira. I'll even have them be my pawns and offer them protection after Kira is dead. Alright, let's see what these mates are up to."

One by one, he begins looking over the files.

November 10th

With Rain

Stepping out of work, Rain shoves her hands in her pockets as she walks to her car. Climbing inside, she pauses when she sees someone standing thirty meters away looking in her direction. Without skipping a beat, she climbs in her car and takes off. Driving home with minimal traffic, she checks the rearview mirror and sees a car pull behind her. They're at a red light so she takes a moment to try and read the license plate on the front of the car.

When the light turns green, Rain drives forward.

As she nears another intersection with red lights, the car behind her turns to the right and drives off. A second car takes its place behind her.

Rain narrows her eyes, blinking three times before waiting patiently for the light to turn.

Drumming her fingers against the wheel, she changes lanes at the last second and drives into a McDonald's parking lot. The car behind her continues driving off after checking to see if the coast is clear, Rain drives in reverse. Before she drives for the exit, a third car pulls up in the parking lot beside her. She turns the wheel at the last second and drives through the drive-thru. Another car appears behind her.

She pulls up to the speaker. "Can I get one order of the Oreo McFlurry and two orders of the M&M McFlurry?"

Once the speaker girl takes her order, Rain drives forward to the window. As she waits patiently for her order, she checks the rearview mirror. Noticing the car pull up behind her a little too quickly, she narrows her eyes again.

The drive-thru girl hands her a tray with three McDonald's desserts. "Here's your order."

"Thank you." Rain hands her her card. "By the way, the guy behind me, I want to pay for his order."

"Oh," the drive-thru girl gasps, "he didn't order anything. He asked for a green leaf tea milkshake but we told him we didn't have anything."

"Green leaf tea milkshake? What a peculiar order. Okay then. Well, thank you."

As Rain hands her her debit card, she subtly takes out her phone and switches to her camera. Turning off the flash, she snaps a photo of the car behind her before backing it up. Taking the tray of ice creams, she sets them in the passenger seat before her card is returned.

She pulls forward and parks her car near the curb. Reaching into her pocket, pretending to put her card away, she writes several things down on a scrap of Death Note paper hidden in her pocket.

As she drives off, the car vanishes before another one suddenly appears behind her at another traffic light.

Keeping her eyes on the car tailgating her, she blinks twice upon seeing a second pull up and rear-end the car tailgating her.

The two cars pull off to the side while Rain casually drives off when the light turns green.

The Yagami Residence

Arriving home, Rain holds up the McDonald's bag. "Anyone up for some McFlurries?"

Archer and Angel take the bag and pull out the M&M McFlurries. "Aww, you shouldn't have," both twins say.

"You're right, I shouldn't have." She snatches the McFlurries back. "I bought them so I'll toss 'em."

"Wait," both twins say, "we're sorry."

"You want to prove how sorry you are, quit speaking in unison." She returns their desserts to them. "Guys, I don't know about you, but I think I have a fan. A fan sent to me via England."

"What makes you say that?" Archer asks.

"When I was leaving the station, I saw someone looking in my direction. I dismissed it as nothing but as I was driving home, I saw that almost every car in the area was driving behind me. I thought it was a coincidence until I noticed that when one car drove off, another took its place and began tailgating me. Hydra's identity changes every day like when someone changes their shirt. Then my suspicions were confirmed at the drive-thru at McDonald's. I decided to be a good Samaritan and pay for the tailgater's meal but the drive-thru girl said that the guy behind me ordered nothing. He even asked for an order that anyone who's been to McDonald's would know is not there. What truly sealed the deal was when I got creative in losing my tail."

She takes out the Death Note paper from her pocket.

"I had a criminal in the area rear-end the car tailgating me and just like that, the cars stopped tailgating me and I was able to drive home like nothing."

"Maybe it's just your paranoia," Angel reasons.

Rain shakes her head. "'Fraid not, baby bro, we're being stalked. Or, I am at least." Rain scoffs. "I'm willing to bet that Hydra has something to do with us."

"But... if it's Hydra, then how did he find out about you?"

"I'll figure that out later. But what I do know is that he's going to regret turning my own people against the gods of the new worlds."
