The Wondrous World of Pokémon! A world filled with mysterious creatures known as Pokémon, who come in all shapes and sizes. They live everywhere imaginable. On the land, in the seas and skies, and some even come from outer space. These creatures can bond with humans thanks to the special capture devices known as Pokéballs. Those who use Pokémon for battle are known as Pokémon Trainers. Silver and Latrell have both earned their first badge, and Fiore has caught her first Shiny Pokémon, a Ralts! Now, our heroes have set off from Pewter City to make their way through Mt. Moon and arrive at Basalt City for Blue's first contest.
With the group somewhere in Route 3, chilling at a picnic table they set up, and Latrell and Blue are having a training battle
Latrell: Nymble, Double Kick!
Blue: Pikachu, Quick Attack!
Nymble: (Hops into the air towards Pikachu)
Pikachu: Pika! (Rushes towards the airborne Nymble with Quick Attack, but is stopped by Nymble's Double Kick that knocks it to the ground)
Blue: Pikachu! You okay?
Pikachu: Chu-Pi! (Stands up and nods his head at Blue)
Latrell: Alright, I think that's good for now.
Nymble: Nim!
Blue: Thanks a lot, Latrell and Nymble.
Latrell: Anytime. You need to be battle ready for your Contest if you wanna win.
Blue: I didn't even know you had to battle in Contests if I'm being honest.
Fiore: Seriously? You didn't know?
Blue: You guys knew and didn't tell me?
Silver: Yeah, I live near a Contest Hall, so that's common knowledge to me.
Fiore: Contests are pretty important in Sinnoh.
Latrell: And my dad watches Contests, so I've seen him watching some Battles back at home.
Fiore: Your dad likes watching Contests?
Latrell: Nah, he just likes looking at the pretty women in dresses.
Blue, Eevee, Fiore, Pikachu, and Silver: (Deadpan Latrell)
Silver: Anywho, Mt. Moon is just up ahead, let's get a move on while it's still bright out.
Latrell: Yeah.
About 15 minutes later, after the group has packed up and approaches Mt. Moon's entrance
Latrell: Alright, let's go!
(A random Asian man with black hair rushes out of the cave and crashes into Silver)
Silver: (Gets up and dusts himself off) What's your problem?!
Man: I'm sorry, but I need your help!
Blue: Our help?
Eevee: Ee?
Man: You four are Pokémon Trainers?
Latrell: Yeah, what's up?
Man: My daughter, I lost her in those caves!
Silver: How do you manage that?
Fiore: You'd know a lot about losing things.
Latrell: Neither of you two can talk.
Man: Please! I was chase out by a bunch of rampaging Onix! Help her, I'm worried something bad will happen.
Blue: Don't worry, we'll help you.
Silver: Don't we have to get to Basalt City?
Latrell: I mean, we're going through Mt. Moon anyway, so why don't we help the guy out?
Fiore: Yeah, let's go save this kid!
Man: Uhh... you don't look like you're any older than 7, are you even a Pokémon Trainer?
Fiore: (Twitches her eye)
Inside of the cave, near the entrance our group was just near
Blue: (Chuckles nervously) Don't worry, we'll keep your daughter safe, sir!
Latrell: C'mon! He didn't mean to offend you! (Trying to drag Fiore into the cave with Silver, as she's trying to rush at the man)
Silver: We have to help his kid! Worry about this later!
Fiore: (Screeches and makes gremlin noises at the man)
Latrell: Let it go and we'll buy you apple juice when we get to Basalt City.
Silver: Who's "we"?
Blue: (Grabs Silver by his ear and pulls on it) You, me, and Latrell. Isn't that right?
Silver: Ow! Ow! Ow! Fine!
Fiore: (Takes a deep breath) Alright, let's go.
(Everyone else lets go of the person they were holding)
Man: Thank you! I owe you so much!
About an hour later with the group in the cave
Silver: Where's this kid? I'm getting real tired of this.
Latrell: How did the dude lose his daughter anyway?
Blue: Didn't he say they got separated and he was chased out by a gang of Onix?
Fiore: Onix? Like that Pokémon Latrell and Silver battled in Pewter City?
Latrell: Yeah, that sounds about right.
Blue: (Starts trembling like a cartoon character) We're not gonna have to deal with a group of them, are we?
Silver: Even if we do find one, we'll be fine.
Blue: Are you sure?
Latrell: I mean, Grookey and Treecko should be enough to take them down.
Fiore: Well, we should be fine.
(The group all stop and stare at each other for a few seconds because of Fiore's comment)
(A Kricketot appears out of Arceus knows where and starts chirping for no reason)
(The group turn to Kricketot and stare at it for 10 seconds)
Charmander: (Pops out of it's Pokéball unprompted, then blasts the Kricketot with Ember)
Latrell: Y'know, I'm not even mad at you for that.
Fiore: See? We're fine.
(Suddenly, 6 Onix appear out of the ground and roar at the group)
(The Four Trainers, Charmander, and Eevee, all scream loudly and run away as fast as they can)
Onix: (Start slithering through the cave chasing them down)
(Latrell, Blue, Silver, Fiore, and the former two's Starter Pokémon all run, but end up falling into a hole, with multiple paths, so they end up falling into different holes, with their Pokéballs all falling out of their pockets and into different paths)
5 minutes later, in a random part of the caves
Silver: (Falls from a hole in the top of the cave and hits the ground) Ouch!
Latrell: (Falls and lands right next to Silver) Son of a Granbull!
Silver: Haven't you never left Kanto? How would you know what a Granbull is?
Latrell: I don't know. I just said what came to mind.
Eevee: (Drops down and lands on Latrell's head) Ee!
Silver: Alright, that's Eevee, but where are Fiore and Blue?
Latrell: And where's Charmander? He was out of his Pokéball before we got separated.
(Suddenly, four Pokéballs drop from the hole, on top of Silver's head)
Silver: Son of a Yamper! (Rubs his head)
Latrell: What's a Yamper?
Silver: (Shrugs his shoulders) I don't know.
At the same time, with Blue and Fiore who had just landed in another part of the cave
Fiore: Where are we?
Blue: If I had to guess, another part of the cave.
Charmander: (Falls from the hole the two girls previously fell through and lands on Fiore)
Fiore: (Grabs Charmander from off her head) I'm assuming you got separated from Latrell?
Charmander: Char! (Nods his head)
Blue: Wait, where's Eevee?!
Fiore: Let's just hope Silver or Latrell has her.
(Suddenly, four Pokéballs fall from the hole in front of the two Trainers)
5 minutes later with Latrell, Silver, and Eevee after they've looked through all the Pokéballs.
Latrell: Okay, so to recap, we have my Grookey and Nymble, your Mankey, Blue's Eevee, and Fiore's Ralts?
Silver: Yep.
Latrell: Well, let's get through these caves and find the others before those Onix find us.
Silver: Agreed.
(The duo stand up and start walking through the cave, with their scattered Pokémon in tow)
Latrell: Man, I can barely see.
Ralts: Ral! (Steps to the front of the group and uses the move Flash)
Latrell: Sweet! Now we have light.
Ralts: Ralts! (Walks at the head of the group, with the others following closely behind it)
With Blue and Fiore's group walking through the cave, with Charmander's flame as a light
Fiore: This is kinda fun, isn't it?
Blue: (Trembling a bit) Y-Yeah, though we should try to find the others, this place is a bit scary...
Fiore: Don't worry, if anything happens, we have Piplup, Silver's Treecko, Latrell's Charmander and Pidgey, and your Pikachu.
Charmander: Char!
Blue: Doesn't exactly help when 3 out of those 5 Pokémon are weak to Onix.
Fiore: Well, we'll be fine.
Blue: Can you stop saying that?
(Suddenly, a horde of Zubat come from further down into the cave and swarm the girls group)
Blue and Fiore: (Scream and start to run aimlessly further into the cave, with the 5 Pokémon following closely behind)
A few minutes later, with the Guys Group a bit deeper into the cave
Latrell: Man, we've been searching forever. Where are the girls?
Silver: Weren't we also here to find that hiker dude's kid?
Latrell: Yeah, I almost forgot.
(Suddenly, they hear screams coming from further down a cave, and an Asian girl who looks to be 13 runs into the group, crashing into Silver)
Silver: Seriously, why are people crashing into me today?
Girl: I'm so sorry!
Silver: (Slightly blushes and turns his head) Don't worry about it. (Gets up and dusts himself off)
Latrell: What's your name?
Girl: My name's Anna, what about you two?
Silver: I'm Silver, and that's Latrell. What are you doing in here, Anna?
Anna: I was on a trip with my dad, but we got separated.
Latrell: Hold on, was your dad some kinda hiker guy?
Anna: Yeah.
Latrell: We saw him on the entrance at Route 3. He sent us in here to look for you.
Anna: Are you sure? Was his name Frank?
Silver: Well, we didn't catch his name, but since I doubt there's another hiker guy who happened to lose his daughter in here today, I think you're who we're looking for.
Anna: Well, thank you!
Latrell: Alright, cool. Now let's find the others and get out of here.
Silver: (Starts walking ahead, but accidentally kicks a Geodude that was just sitting there) Agh! What the- you're gonna pay for that, you little-!
(Suddenly, a gang of Geodude all roll into view)
Silver: Uhh... can we take a rain check on that payment?
Montage Time of Chaos!
Blue: (Screaming loudly as more Zubat swarm her and Fiore)
Fiore: (Screams out a warrior cry as she tries to swat the Zubat using her bag)
Charmander, Pidgey, Treecko, Pikachu, and Piplup: (All wildly shoot Flamethrower, Gust, Bullet Seed, Thunderbolt, and Bubble Beam respectively trying to hit the Zubat, but hit each other on accident more often than the Zubat)
Gang of Geodude: (All using Fire Punch on Silver as they beat him)
Silver: Ow! Agh! Seriously?! Right in my spleen!
Latrell: (On the ground laughing and holding his stomach)
Anna: (Looking on with worry, but not doing anything)
Blue and Fiore: (Sighing of relief as they finally lost the Zubat)
(Suddenly, a group of Paras appear in front of the girls
Blue: (Screams and jump into Fiore's arms)
Fiore: (Falls from the sudden added weight she has to carry, dropping Blue in the process)
Piplup and Pikachu: (Hide behind Charmander)
Charmander: (Makes a deadpan face)
Latrell: (Still laughing a bit, walking through the cave with Silver and Anna alongside him, and the 5 Pokémon in their group following behind)
Anna: (A single sweat drop falls down her face)
Silver: Alright, listen here, you little-
(Suddenly, the ground beneath them gives way, and Latrell, Silver, Anna, and the 5 Pokémon in their group fall into a hole)
Montage over, and we join Blue and Fiore 15 minutes after their encounter with the Paras
Blue: Glad that's over.
Fiore: You said it. Thanks, Charmander.
Charmander: (Gives a proud smile and a thumbs up)
Blue: We haven't found Latrell or Silver yet, and we haven't found the hiker's daughter yet. I'm starting to get worried.
Fiore: Don't worry, we'll be-
Blue: (Covers Fiore's mouth) No offense, but every time you've said that today, something has gone terribly wrong, and I'm too scared to see what'll happen next.
Fiore: Awh. (Makes a sad face)
(Suddenly, the hear a faint voice in the cave)
Fiore: Uhh...
Blue: Let's listen.
(After a few seconds of waiting, the girls hear the faint voice again, and they're able to make out someone calling out, "Double Kick!")
Fiore: That sounded like...
Blue: Latrell!
Charmander: Char?!
Pidgey: (Happily chirps at hearing its Trainer's Name)
Blue: C'mon, let's go! (Starts running towards where they heard Latrell, with Fiore and the 5 Pokémon in their group following closely behind)
With Latrell and Silver's Group, who had fallen through a hole made from an Onix's digging, which led their group to the Onix Gang's den, causing Latrell and Silver to get into a conflict with the Onix.
Anna: You've got this, you two!
Latrell: Nymble, Double Kick again!
Silver: Low Kick, Mankey!
(The two Pokémon jump and use their respective Fighting Type Attacks against 2 of the 6 Onix they're up against)
Blue: (Runs into the den with her and Fiore's group right behind her) You guys!
Fiore: Piplup, use Bubble Beam!
Piplup: (Jumps in the air and shoots Bubble Beam at an Onix)
Onix: (Roars in pain)
Latrell: Fiore! Blue! There you two are!
Fiore: Yeah, who's the kid?
Anna: You look like you're 6, who are you calling "kid"?!
Fiore: What did you-?!
Latrell: Relax, he's the hiker dude's kid.
Pidgey: (Chirps as it flies towards Latrell, carrying Charmander by his arms as it flies)
Charmander: Char! (Jumps out of Pidgey's grasp and onto Latrell's shoulder)
Latrell: Good to see ya!
Treecko: (Runs towards Silver and hops onto his shoulder)
Silver: Glad you're safe.
Blue: (Runs to Latrell, snatches Eevee off his head, and hugs her tightly) I'm never letting you go again!
Fiore: (Runs to Ralts and picks her up) I'm so happy to see you!
Latrell: Alright, let's beat this Onix!
Silver: Yeah!
Latrell: Grookey and Nymble, go!
Silver: Treecko, help out Mankey!
Fiore: Let's go, Piplup!
Blue: Eevee, let's go!
(The 6 aforementioned Pokémon stand next to each other, prepping to face off against the Onix)
Latrell: Nymble, Double Kick! Grookey, use Branch Poke!
(The Two Pokémon jump and use their respective attacks on one of the Onix each, with Branch Poke knocking its target back and fall unconscious, and Double Kick causing its target to roar in pain as it falls to the ground unconscious as well)
Silver: Use Bullet Seed and Karate Chop!
Treecko: (Fires Bullet Seed at an Onix, sending it into a wall and knocking it out)
Mankey: Man! (Jumps and uses Karate Chop on Onix, knocking it out and straight to the ground)
Fiore: Piplup, use Bubble Beam!
Piplup: Pip... Lup! (Fires Bubble Beam at an Onix, sending it flying into the wall like Treecko and Grookey's attacks did, and subsequently knocking out the Onix)
Blue: Eevee, use Swift!
Eevee: Veh! (Jumps and fires Swift from its tail at the last remaining Onix, though it doesn't do much damage since Rock Types resist Swift)
Onix: (Roars at the Pokémon and uses Rock Throw at them)
(Grookey, Nymble, Treecko, Mankey, and Piplup are all able to dodge pretty easily, though Eevee can't move since it's in midair)
Fiore: Ralts, use Confusion and save Eevee!
Ralts: Ral! (Uses Confusion on the rock aiming for Eevee, and sends it back to Onix)
Onix: (Withstands the attack and stares down the 6 Pokémon it and the other Onix were facing)
Silver: That one must be the leader.
Fiore: How can you tell?
Silver: It's the only one with an X-Scar on its head. (Points out a medium sized X-Shaped Scar on the lone Onix's forehead)
Blue: Uhh...
Latrell: Sound enough logic.
Onix: (Roars and uses Dragon Breath on the group, which they all barely manage to dodge)
Silver: We need to divert its attention away from our Grass and Water Types!
Eevee: Ee! (Steps in front of everyone else and glares at Onix)
Anna: What's Eevee doing?
Fiore: Distracting Onix! She's got some guts!
Blue: Eevee, go!
Eevee: (Zips around Onix using Quick Attack, then stops right behind Onix)
Onix: (Turns around to face Eevee, roars, and then uses Dragon Breath)
Blue: Eevee, go for it!
Eevee: (Starts singing at Onix, which turns into a new move that cancels out Dragon Breath and hits Onix in the face)
Latrell: What was that move? (Pulls out his Rotom Phone)
Rotom Phone: Alluring Voice. A Fairy Type Move. The user attacks the target using its angelic voice. This also has a chance to confuse its target.
Onix: (Roars at Eevee and fires Dragon Breath at it, though Eevee is gracefully dodging)
Blue: It's distracted, go, you three!
Latrell: Grookey, Razor Leaf!
Silver: Treecko, Bullet Seed!
Fiore: And Piplup, use Bubble Beam!
(The Three aforementioned Pokémon launch their attack at the Onix and all hit it)
Onix: (Roars in pain from the three 4X Effective Attacks, then falls to the ground unconscious)
(The Four Trainers all cheer at their victory)
Silver: And now... go, Pokéball! (Throws a Pokéball at the leader Onix, then Onix goes into the Pokéball and it shakes three times, then its button glows green to signify the successful capture)
Blue: Sweet!
Silver: I caught an Onix!
Anna: Great, now can we get outta here?
Silver: Sure. (Tosses Onix out of its Pokéball)
Onix: (Roars)
Silver: Onix, dig us a tunnel that leads to the entrance near Route 3.
Onix: (Growls in compliance and starts digging a tunnel)
Latrell: Alright, let's follow Onix. Someone hold onto Silver so he doesn't get lost.
Silver: Hey, shut-
Anna: (Grabs hold of Silver's hand) Let's go!
Silver: Yeah! Let's get outta here!
15 minutes later, with Frank outside the entrance from Route 3
Frank: Oh, where are they? Have they found Anna yet? What if something happened to them? I'm a terrible father!
Onix: (Makes an Onix-Shaped hole through the wall next to the entrance, and roars as it exits the cave)
Frank: Ah! Giratina has sent its goons from the Distortion World to punish me for my sins!
Fiore: Nah, it's just us.
Blue: We're back!
Latrell: And we found your kid.
Frank: You did?
Anna: (Steps out of the cave while holding Silver's hand still) Finally!
Silver: Hey, old guy, we found your kid.
Frank: (Noticing the two's conjoined hands) WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY DAUGHTER?!
Anna: (Lets go of Silver's hand and runs over to Frank) Dad!
Frank: Anna! (Hugs Anna tightly) I'm so glad you're safe.
Anna: It's thanks to them. (Points to the Four Trainers)
Frank: Thank you, is there any way we can repay you?
Blue: No need, we were happy to-
Latrell, Silver, and Fiore: (All cover Blue's mouth) Sorry Frank, don't listen to her!
Latrell: Some food would be nice.
Fiore: And a little bit of money for our troubles too.
Silver: And maybe Anna's phone num-
Fiore: (Covers Silver's mouth) I'm gonna stop you right there.
Anna and Frank: (Both laugh)
Frank: We'd be happy to give you some food and money, you sure are a colorful bunch.
And with that, our heroes have saved Frank's daughter Anna, Blue's Eevee has learned a powerful new move, and Silver has a new Pokémon in Onix. Despite all the setbacks they faced along the way, they were able to come together and take down the Onix Gang, and now, there's nothing stopping them from reaching Basalt City, where Blue's first contest awaits!
