Putting on the mask, Brooks felt like he was a whole new person and it brought to him a kind of feeling he hadn't felt in a long time. Power. Yes, he felt like he had power for the first time in a long time. It's been so long since he served and he desperately craved the feeling he got when he first served. He understood his days were dead and gone and soon he would be dead and gone but he just wants to savor this moment. Yes, just savor this moment for a few minutes. He'll still take it even if it was only a few seconds. Yes, and right now, it was time to get to work.

Walking down the hall, he stops suddenly when he passes several of his old teammates. Well, he wouldn't call them teammates but rather his superiors. They didn't recognize him with his Hydra mask and that's what he was hoping for. Right now, the one Hydra with the mismatched eyes was still attending court most likely for consistency so that meant he got to be Hydra for a few days. Good enough. Now, it was time to follow the others given to him by Kira himself.

Standing before some of his superiors who are now his inferiors, he sits in a cubicle that has become traditional for each Hydra to sit in and sighs deeply. "Looks like I'm Hydra for the next few days, right?"

One of the officers looks at him. "That was made clear in the contract, was it not?"

Brooks laughs. "Yeah, I'm well aware of what was stated in the contract. And to be honest, I think more must be done. How long am I Hydra for?"

"Until the current Hydra is off trial."

"So I'll be working behind the scenes while Trial Hydra is on trial. Good. I also understand that I have access to certain things I wouldn't normally have access to, correct?"

The officer nods again.

"Perfect. In that case, I must speak with the King of England." He glares at the officers through his mask. "I sincerely hope that even speaking to the King of England isn't a problem. After all, I am Hydra and I personally request an audience with him."

"And why is that, sir?"

He called me 'sir', he's already subservient to me. This is the flaw with the idea that anybody can be Hydra: there is no consistency and the results are way too unpredictable. I bet this is what Kira was exploiting when he ordered me here. Kira is not only a god but he's a god with a high level intellect. Now, to make sure his plan goes off without a hitch, I must act on his orders to the letter.

"I have a few ideas that I wish to confer with him. We all know that the King of England fakes his death; we're not stupid. And it was disclosed to me before I put on the Hydra mask. I request an audience with the king. If my request isn't granted, I'm going to go see him myself. Either way, the King of England and I have a lot to discuss."

"Do you wish to discuss it with us?"

"No, because if one of you is compromised, we are all compromised."

Sitting at home, Rain leans on the sofa and sighs heavily at the screen before her. She is on the trial of Hydra and waits patiently, almost as if she were expecting something to happen. Cocking her head as she translates the Japanese subtitles, she pulls out her Death Note. She writes down a few names, instructions, and details before she closes the Death Note and lies it on the couch beside her.

Archer and Angel appear beside her and watch the live courtroom.

"Remember our Dad's trial?" Angel asks.

Gintik Hagmay materializes in front of them. "How can we forget? The trial of Kira, it could've been groundbreaking if it was real."

"So what are we doing here?" Archer asks, leaning closer to the TV. "And be honest, I know when you're lying, Rainy."

"Delaying the trial," she answers simply. "The trial proceeded even though Hydra is without his lawyer. Also, the prosecutor is dead."

"Why?" Angel questions.

"Like I've said: to delay the trial. Hydra is weak without a lawyer and the former prosecutor would've eaten him alive. That's why I killed the prosecutor and replaced him with someone willing to give Hydra a fighting chance."

Angel looks over. "You killed a lawyer and prosecutor?"

"Yeah. And I've assigned a lawyer myself to be Hydra's lawyer. I've instructed him to take two days at least to look over the case of Hydra so he can delay the trial slightly longer. The more Trial Hydra is on trial, the more time Brooks has to be the current Hydra."

"Were those lawyers and prosecutors guilty?"

"One defends criminals, the other prosecutes innocent people; nothing innocent about them."

"You can't just kill innocent people, Rain."

"Baby Angel, I like to look at it as a form of... sacrifice. These guilty people are sacrificing their lives so we can win."

Angel nearly throws up. "That doesn't make sense."

Archer pats his twin's shoulder. "Hey, we're in too deep, tiny one; you already agreed to Rain's plan with Brooks, the pilot, and the artist."

"Exactly." Rain stands up and faces her brother with her default stoic expression. "And if you're so opposed to it, you're going to have to kill me. Yes, you're going to have to kill your big sister to stop me." She leans down and gets close to her brother's face. "Because one way or another baby brother, I will end this cold war between Kira and Hydra and I will do it... even if I have to use nukes to do so."

December 2nd

After going through several security checkpoints and passing several security checkups, Brooks finally makes it to the King of England's bunker. Stepping inside after being frisked of all potential weapons.

He wasn't alone, though. Standing behind him, forced to the bunker by his orders, was Lady Inda. He turns to her and whispers something in her ears. "Draw."

Lady Inda gasps and she looks around at the several guards. With extreme hesitation, she takes out her pencil and begins drawing the faces of the men around her.

Brooks leaves her.

Standing before the king, Brooks adjusts his Hyda mask before taking a seat at the King's table which is surrounded from all sides by several cameras and automatic guns set up in the walls pointed in all directions, ready to go off at a moment's notice.

"Hydra," the king addresses him, "to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"The King of England," Brooks mutters, "the pleasure is all mine. It is such an honor to get to meet you. And that's why... well, I'm here to discuss strategy with you."

The king sets a plate of steak and wine for himself and his guest. "Off with your mask so we can eat like civilized people."

Brooks removes his mask. "By all means, we should eat like civilized people." He takes a bite of his steak before washing it down with his red wine. "A lot of people think you're dead and it's not without good reason. I think it truly is an honor that you faked your death. I mean, it was a plan that a Hydra before me came up with, correct?"

The king nods. "Yes."

"I have a strategy while it doesn't directly involve you, it does require you."

"I'm open to any and all strategies."

"But this strategy is highly sensitive and I request absolute privacy. That means... no cameras, no wiretaps, absolutely nothing. This is a sensitive strategy of the utmost secrecy. Please, please heed my warnings because if any of this gets out... well, to say the consequences would be... severe would be a huge understatement." He gestures to the camera. "Turn off the cameras and anything linking this room to the outside."

The king throws him a pair of handcuffs. "Put those on."

"Of course." Brooks cuffs his right hand to the chair and waits patiently.

The king pulls a radio out from his inner jacket pocket. "Code Yellow-Blue-Orange, 1-1, I say again, 1-1."

After repeating the code, the cameras and wiretaps in the room quickly power off, giving Brooks and the king absolute privacy. "Okay, your conditions have been met. Now then, what is this extremely sensitive strategy?"

Brooks smiles. "It involves Kira, a strategy so extreme, it would never be taken lightly, even back in a world where things were considered 'normal'. It is the kind of strategy that involves nuclear weapons."

The king pauses and waits for Brooks to continue. "I'm listening."

"As the King of England, you are the only person in the country who can authorize the use of a nuclear weapon. You are those only bliney mate in the country who has access to the nuclear launch codes. You know, ever since Kira showed up, his power surpassed any need for a nuclear weapon and thus, nuclear security, while still multilayered, became complacent because any problems that required... the infamous mushroom explosion could simply be taken care of by Kira himself. Just think: compared to Kira's power to kill anyone with just a name and a face, a nuclear weapon seems like overkill. In fact, I dare say, it's an outdated weapon. But, that weapon could become the most powerful weapon to ever exist, if you listen to my plan."

"And what plan is that?"

"Launch a nuclear missile towards Japan."

The king simply sets his wine glass down. "And why would I do that?"

"Kira is too powerful and as long as he's still alive, there can never be true peace. Just think, this whole conflict between Kira and Hydra started because we know that World War 3 is inevitable. Countries are going to break out fighting because of so much pent-up aggression. We have Kira to thank for this."

"And how does sending a nuclear missile to Japan solve anything?"

"By launching a nuclear missile to Japan, specifically, the Kanto region, where Kira is said to live, we send a message as well as possibly kill a target. In World War 2, when America sent the first atomic bomb to Japan, it was done so with the intent to get them to surrender. When ti didn't work the first time, the second bomb was dropped."

The king leans back in his chair. "So, you want me to send a nuclear missile to Japan as an act of defiance against Kira?"

"Yes. Like Hydra who is replaceable, a new nuke can always take its place. Kira can kill the people with the access codes but there will always be someone to take its place, and once Kira realizes he can't stop the missiles unless he gives up, he'll wise up."

"Millions could die."

"That's up to Kira. We are at war with him and war cannot be won without shed blood. I do not want a nuclear holocaust but we must do what we can to win this war against Kira. My suggestion is that we first launch the nuke on a remote island, somewhere uninhabited but somewhere very close to Japan to show Kira we're serious." He leans forward in his chair. "You're not going to dissolve the Hydra operation because you know it's necessary to prevent a war from breaking out. Hydra's entire goal is to wage war with Kia and here is my strategy. Send a nuclear missile to Japan and nuke the Kanto region. That is if you want to skip the uninhabited island thing."

The king stands suddenly and looks at Hydra with a hard look. "Nuclear weapons should only be used as a last resort."

"Or worst-case scenarios and this is a worst-case scenario. Think about it, when Kira gives up after realizing he can't take on endless waves of nukes, life will go back to normal. When the first Kira vanished, the world went back to how it was for seventeen years and then again for another two years when he disappeared again. Life will go back to normal and given how nukes were used to end a crisis, other countries would want to avoid using nukes. There may be a WW3 but it will not be as severe as there will be no nukes at use. Just think, sir, you could go down in history as the king who defeated Kira. The choice to do so is entirely up to you.

"Will you send a nuclear missile to Japan?"
