Kingdom of Acorn

After bathing in a warm bath and being washed, Tania is being rubbed by Megan with a towel as she's shaking herself and glancing next to her.

Afterwards, Tania is now prepared as she dresses in an oversized green parka hoodie with black hood and sleeves, making her twirl around as if she's ready.

"Hehe!"

"How adorable!" Megan can't help but view Tania as a cute little hedgehog regardless of what she wears.

"Looks like you're ready. Now, let's start with the basics of knighthood." Elias stands straight up and raises his hand.

Releasing from his hand is a blue energy that's creating gauntlets on his hands and a sword morphs to his hand as Elias catches it, making him point his sword towards Tania.

"Woah…" Tania is amazed by the way the weapon is summoned like some sci-fi fantasy TV shows.

"Like it? This has been through my family's generations. To fight, you must learn the ways of a true knight." Elias said as he placed his sword on the floor as he prepared to start training Tania.

"So if you have those cool powers, then why didn't you fight Eggman already?" Tania asks, confused about why Elias didn't do anything about that.

"Good point. Elias, are you running away like a coward?" Megan asks while giving Elias a cold stare while leaning close to him, making Elias raise his hands while nervously walking backwards.

"W- Well… You see… I can't do this alone. Ever since Dr. Eggman showed up, he's been making plans to reshape our kingdom as his empire while using Hedgehog Town as his theme park. I thought about giving up and living life till the end. But with her around, there's a chance that our kingdom can be salvaged. Tania is more than enough for me to keep fighting until the very end." Elias explains while looking serious and then pat Megan's shoulder.

"Elias. Do you really believe there's a Sonic? What if Tania is just a normal kid?" Megan asks with worry.

"I know. But let me do this for our kingdom." Elias said as he turned back towards Tania, who was staring at both squirrels.

Tania clenches her fist to her chest while preparing herself for the worst.

"Eli. I wanna start. I wanna fight with you." Tania is still determined to fight to protect those she needed to save.

If Nicky did all this for others, so can she.

Elias smirks and then walks towards the hallway as he's leading Tania to where she'll be training at.

At a garden that is left in ruin along with the buildings aside from some flowers being able to fully bloom and a few bushes being intact, Elias places his blue energy sword on the ground while standing in front of Tania.

"Alright. Before we start our journey, have you ever wielded a weapon before?" Elias asked.

"Hm… Does video games count?" Tania asks while thinking.

"Wrong!" Elias shouts as Tania yelps out of shock. "It does not count. In other words, you haven't wielded a weapon before in your life. You must think before you fight. Let's start with martial arts." Elias makes his weapon and gauntlets disappear from his hands and approaches Tania.

As Elias and Tania begin their martial arts training by throwing fists and kicks, giving Tania the impression that there's a lot more than just weaponry which is to master one's skill.

To Elias' surprise, Tania is a natural at martial arts which also means she learned it from the video games she played.

The next part of martial arts is movements as Tania emulates her moves from fighting games by throwing palms, swinging a kick as well as doing a roundhouse kick, doing flips as well as sliding and standing on one foot while doing a kung-fu pose.

For a kid like her, Elias is beyond impressed as Tania's determination is driving her to move forward.

"I must say, for a kid, you're a natural. It took me a week to perfect this kind of training. Let's spar. I've been mastering this a few years ago. Show me what you got." Elias said while doing a martial arts stance.

"Okay!" Tania does the same while being confident as always.

While sparring, Megan arrives with a tray full of cookies and juice, leading to Tania pausing her spar as she drools with excitement.

Before Elias swings a kick onto Tania, he unfortunately slips and falls after Tania's quick reflexes makes her zip away from training in favour of cookies in a split second.

"Cookies! Gimme! Gimmegimmegimmegimmegimme!" Tania repeatedly says "Gimme" while hopping nonstop like a hyperactive animal as her tail wags Luke she's excited.

"Ehehehe. Such an energetic little kid, you are. Okay, you can have them." Megan giggles while offering cookies to Tania.

Tania snatches the cookies as she eats them, causing her to widen her eyes as the taste is something else.

"So good! Your cookies are amazing, big sis!"

"Big sis?" Megan is confused about a hedgehog calling a squirrel like her a big sister.

"Hahaha! Looks like Tania's starting to like you!" Elias laughs while rubbing his own head.

This made Megan laugh and then wipe Tania's mouth with a cloth from the tray.

"I never thought I would have a little sister before." Said Megan.

"Hold on, does that mean I'm the big brother?" Elias asked out of curiosity.

"Yep! Eli is my big bro!" Tania nods as she cheerfully accepts Elias as her big brother.

Elias' smile fades, lifts his head and sinks as he sighs out of regret.

"Note to self: never kidnap little girls before they call you their older sibling."

"You did what!? Elias! How could you!?" Megan snapped while pulling Elias' scarf.

"Now, Meg, calm down! I was just kidding! It's not really a kidnapping, just taking the kid in before she dies in the middle of nowhere!" Elias quickly explains while correcting what he meant.

After Megan lets go of Elias, appearing through the door is the squirrel in a blue collared uniform and a golden acorn crown.

"Looks like everyone's full of energy today." King Nigel Acorn chuckles as he approaches Elias, Megan and Tania.

"Your majesty." Megan courtesies towards the king.

Tania stares at the king, surprised that Elias' father has appeared out of nowhere.

"Father. What are you doing here?" Elias asks, confused as to why Nigel is in the disfigured garden.

"I just came here to see all of you." Nigel is honest about his arrival and kneels in front of Tania. "So, young lady, how are you doing?"

"Um… You're Eli's papa, right?" Tania asked.

"Yes I am. I am King Nigel Acorn. It seems you got along well with my son and this young lady over there." Nigel looks towards Elias and Megan with a warm smile.

Tania nods and raises both her fists with excitement.

"Big brother Eli is so cool, he makes a sword appear like magic! I wanna do that!" Tania is hoping if she could do what Elias does earlier.

"Well you're in luck, kiddo. Watch the master." Nigel stands back and raises his hands, creating gauntlets on his hand.

After that, he extends his energy, releasing it all over his body as it creates an armour, making him look like a fully armoured knight as energy turns to actual armour and a cape blows out of it like a proper knight king.

"Cool…" Tania is staring in awe.

This sets Elias off, causing him to take a single step in anger.

"What the hell!? Do you realise it's too early to show her your armour like that!? I haven't even mastered it yet!" Elias yelled, only for Megan to stand closer to Elias.

"Elias! Please, calm down!" Megan shouted.

"Oh, Elias. I was only showing her the knight's armour." Nigel said his piece.

"Tell me, how do you make that awesome armour?" Tania is curious to know how to do that.

"Isn't it obvious!? It's too difficult making one of your own! You need to master the trials of the knighthood with honour!" Elias explains the way to obtain, even though he has a hard time explaining it all.

"He's correct. I mastered the trials as a way to obtain armour and I can finally do whatever I want. Although, Dr. Eggman had shown up…" Nigel's tone went from chipper to melancholic.

"You never fought back." Elias growls with fuming rage.

This had both Tania and Megan worried as Megan slowly approached Elias.

"Elias, haven't you forgotten what you've been doing for the past few days?" Nigel said, only for Elias to widen his eyes with rage.

"At least I found a survivor! It hasn't been 6 months since I got here!" Elias snapped.

Tania stops after hearing that he's been home For 6 months, leading her to turn towards Elias with worry.

"Elias…" Before Megan speaks, Elias raises his arm while clenching his teeth.

"Dishonour…"

"What!? Elias! How could you say that!?" Nigel shouts as he's shocked.

"You bring dishonour to your own kingdom! Lacking your responsibility as a king and a knight! You hear that!? DISHONOUR!" Elias yelled at his own father, only for him to stop as he turned towards Megan and Tania who're both scared and worried.

This made Elias gasp as he looked at his own palm, realising his outburst is making things worse.

"Elias…" Nigel grunts as his armour vanishes, revealing his sadness in front of his son and the girls.

"Father… I… Ngh. Damn it." Elias grunts, realising he made things complicated.

"You're right. I'm truly sorry for my cowardice. Please understand that Dr. Eggman is never going to stop." Nigel expressed his guilt, knowing he did disgrace his own kingdom.

Elias is unable to respond as he sighs and looks back while walking away.

"The training is over. I'm going for a walk."

"Elias! Wait!" Megan called out until failed to reach him.

Tania is left wondering why everyone is arguing with one another.

That is until she realised her entrance is the cause of all this.

As Megan hugs Tania, both of them are seeing Nigel wiping tears while looking serious.

"Kid, understand that Elias means no harm. What you went through is the same as what we went through."

"I know. Big brother Eli is sad because of Eggman. Mr. King, big sis, can I stay here?" Tania asked as her voice began to tremble with tears coming out of her eyes.

Megan embraces Tania, knowing how much it hurts to lose everything she loved.

"I know, Tania… I know." Megan coos while rubbing Tania's head.

Nigel turns around as he leaves the garden.

"Your majesty?" Megan lifts her head as she sees the king leaving.

"I'll leave you girls to have some time. I'm going for a walk." Nigel said.

Finally, the door closes, leaving Megan looking at Tania.

To her surprise, Tania looks serious while hiccuping, trying not to cry.

"Let me continue. I want to show everyone I'm not just a kid! I wanna be like Sonic! I wanna be cool like you guys!" Tania shouted, knowing her days of living are about to come to an end.

"Tania…" Megan is more than worried as Tania is willing to throw her life just like Elias, meaning their determination is their way of suicide.

"I… I… WAAAAAAH!" Tania couldn't spit it out as she turned into a sobbing mess, wailing out of grief.

Megan then comforts Tania, knowing if Eggman hadn't come around destroying other lives, then things would've been different, but the cost of it is newfound friendships is all for nothing.

"It's okay, Tania… Big sister's here." Megan whispers while soothing Tania from being a crying mess.

20XX July 5th

The next morning, Elias is walking through the corridor while looking out of the window, only for him to see how fast a hedgehog runs as she zooms past the building.

While going outside, Tania is training with a wooden sword while trying some techniques that are outside of the Kingdom of Acorn's usual skills.

After that, Tania spin dashes through different targets and bounces on a bunch of them as well as punching and kicking the dummies while yelling.

Elias is surprised that someone like Tania is still pushing herself forward without holding back.

Nigel appears next to Elias, knowing what his son wanted.

"If you wanna help her, then go to her." Said Nigel.

Elias nods as he finally gets to face Tania after yesterday's argument.

"Father. I'm sorry for what I said." Elias apologised.

"No, Elias. I'm the one who's sorry. Go on, the kid needs some help." Nigel waves for Elias to see Tania.

After Tania pants, she's prepared for another practice until she's pat on the back of her neck.

To her surprise, Elias is back while handing over a bag of cookies Megan made for him and Tania.

"Let's continue with our practice. We'll fight Dr. Eggman together." Said Elias as he pats Tania's shoulder with a confident grin.

Tania can feel the joy as Elias is back to helping her, meaning she truly has another big brother by her side.

"Sure!" Tania nods with excitement.

As Elias and Tania finally warms up to each other, their friendship blooms as they're prepared to defeat Eggman once and for all.
