Later in U.A. Academy...
After checking on the portal, Adrien and Midoriya were shocked to find out some pretty crazy things. Midoriya and Adrien found out that the portal was somehow connecting to the machine back in Adrien and Chloe's Paris. They didn't know what to do with this information. Whatever happened back there, they knew that Ladybug knew about this. She called them after all, asking them about it. She warned them, and they wondered if they had to do something to help her out with something.
"Adrien. Do you think we should've gone to Paris?" Midoriya asked him, "Just to help out Ladybug? She might need us for something important."
"No. She'll be fine for now," Adrien said back, "We just need to make sure this doesn't get out. We don't want someone finding out about our Paris."
Adrien noticed Midoriya looking worried about something. It seemed like it was about something else, something that they found out.
"I'm more worried about why that machine knows about all of us. Not just me and my classmates that went to Paris are there," Midoriya explained to them, "Every one of them are on that machine. Their quirks, strengths and weaknesses."
Adrien felt bad for Midoriya as they walked back to their classrooms. He didn't know what to do or say. He kind of wished that Marinette was there with them in that moment. Something about her not being here made him feel like he had to step up as leader, even if his teammates weren't around. He only had Chloe with him. Still, he had to do something to help Midoriya and his friends.
"We need to talk to Marinette about this. Whatever is going on over there, Marinette can handle it. We need to make sure that things over here are handled before deciding to go over to Paris," Adrien said back, "You are the only one that knows about this, and we need to be careful who knows about this."
Midoriya looked like he wanted to disagree, but decided to back out. He even seemed surprised that Adrien was stepping up as a leader of some sort. Something about felt satisfying considering Ladybug wasn't here.
"Yeah. I agree, but our classmates need to know about this," Midoriya said back, "Something about this seems like Marinette could actually help us even if she's not here. If we can just reach out to her, we might be able to understand what's going on with her."
"Let's do it," Adrien said to him with a smirk, "First, we need to talk to your friends first. They need to know what's going on. This isn't something that we should keep a secret. We tell only them and no one else."
Midoriya nodded and found themselves heading towards their classrooms. They got a little nervous, but knew what to do. Once they opened the door, Mr. Aizawa was already getting them settled down into their respective seats. He looked a little annoyed that they were interrupting class, especially with Adrien there as well. Everyone looked at them like something was wrong.
"Adrien, thank you for bringing Midoriya back to class," Mr. Aizawa said to him, "Everyone knows that he can be a little troublesome and runs off on his own."
Something about that got Midoriya, and he blushed from embarrassment. They didn't move from their spots which got them worried about them.
"Actually sir, we have to something to talk about," Adrien said back, "It's kind of important. It has to do with Marinette and our Paris."
Everyone immediately tensed up and wondered where this was going. Even Mr. Aizawa seemed a little thrown off by the whole thing, but soon settled everyone down by activating his quirk on them. They all stared at Adrien and Midoriya, and they knew that they couldn't back out now.
"Chloe and AllMight should be here as well," Midoriya explained to them, "It's kind of important."
Mr. Aizawa hesitated for a moment, but knew how things go in their Paris. He nodded, and Midoriya ran over to Class 1-M to go get them. Adrien stood there, and he soon walked up to the chalkboard to get ready to talk to everyone there. He was a little nervous staring at everyone, but knew that they were as well. Even Iida looked like he needed to know what was going on with them.
"What's going on Adrien? Is Marinette in trouble?" Iida asked him.
"Maybe we should go to Paris. You know, just to check on her," Kirishima suggested to them.
"Oh! Can we Mr. Aizawa? It's so much easier with the portal," Ashido said to him.
Mr. Aizawa activated his quirk on them, causing them to stop talking. Even if Adrien didn't have a quirk, he felt that from there. His glowing red eyes intimidated him for a moment as it soon settled down.
"No one's going anywhere without permission," Mr. Aizawa explained to them, "Just because we can go there whenever we want, doesn't mean we should. Besides, we don't even know what's going on. Chloe and AllMight will be here soon enough."
Before they knew it, AllMight and Chloe came inside with Midoriya by their side. They looked concerned as they spotted Adrien standing there with Mr. Aizaawa. AllMight and Chloe didn't know what was going on it looked like as they entered Class 2-A's classroom.
"What's this about Adrien?" Chloe asked him, "Why did Izuku bring us in here with everyone else?"
"I'll explain things soon. I just needed to tell everyone right away," Adrien said to her, "Please be patient with me for a moment."
Chloe nodded, and then Adrien noticed someone that he didn't even realize was here. Skylar sat there, really confused about this whole situation. She had pen in her hand, ready to start taking notes. Adrien then realized they were telling some stranger about this and didn't know if he could trust her. This was important to him, and he didn't want to mess this up right away.
"Umm... Can someone please explain to me what's going on?" Skylar asked with her hand raised, "What's this talk about a portal to Paris? Is something wrong over there?"
They all looked at her like they didn't know what to do about her. She didn't know anything about this other Paris and even Ladybug and her teammates. They didn't want to spill so much out all at once, especially to someone that they barely knew. Adrien didn't even know if he could trust her. Skylar just started here, and he barely knew anything about her. He couldn't do this without his friends. Midoriya stood by his side, ready to explain things.
"Skylar. I know you're new here, but this isn't the best time to be asking questions," Mr. Aizawa said to her, "Skylar, maybe I should escort you out of the classroom for a moment. This is something that this class needs to discuss. They can let you know about it if it's something that you need to know."
Skylar slumped her shoulders and got up to leave the classroom. Mr. Aizawa left with her, and Adrien knew to tell him what's going on later. Then he noticed Skylar side glancing at him, which got his attention. She looked upset, but he thought he spotted something else going on. Before he could figure it out, she left with Mr. Aizawa. Adrien didn't expect it to be so easy to escort her out of the classroom. He felt he could relax a little and noticed Midoriya do the same.
Once they left, Iida immediately shot out of his seat.
"What's going on you two? Why did you interrupt classes for this? It better be important." Iida asked them.
"Iida, calm down. I want to explain things, but I think Adrien should since he's the one that got the voicemail from Marinette," Midoriya explained to him, "She tried to call me, but I didn't know that it was important."
They all got nervous, and Iida looked like he wanted to run over to the portal. Midoriya looked at Adrien and so did everyone else. He flinched on the spot as everyone looked to him for an explanation. Even Chloe looked a little nervous as she stood there, waiting for an answer. He took a deep breath in and out, hoping that he could explain things rather easily and fluently.
"Marinette. She called me five times. I didn't get the chance to talk to her yet, but she sent me voicemail," Adrien explained to them, "It was about... Chrysalis's lair. Apparently it's still up and running."
Class 2-A all gasped and had shocked faces once he announced to them what was going on. Even Chloe was shocked to hear about this. The first one to speak up was Bakugo.
"Are you serious? That Caterpillar's lair is still around. It's been like what, six months and no one checked on it?" Bakugo pointed out.
"I haven't talked to her yet, so I'll definitely ask why it's even up in the first place," Adrien said to them, "Clearly things are still a little complicated over there with Chrysalis not being around anymore. I'm sure Marinette is dealing with a lot right now."
"Clearly there's more going on than just that though," Yaoyorozu said to him.
Adrien nodded, nervous to tell them anything else.
"She went over there recently and found out that someone was staying there. But... there's something else..."
Midoriya noticed Adrien getting nervous and stood by his side the whole time.
"She found... that machine that got rid of Ochaco and Katsuki's quirk and turned them into Miraculous... It somehow got connected to the portal and sent information to it. Somehow it has information on everyone in Class 2-A..."
Everyone was dumbfounded to hear this, and it took a minute to have any sort of reaction. Even AllMight looked shocked that this was happening.
"What?!" Class 2-A cried out in unison.
"There's no way! That doesn't make any sense!" Iida cried out.
"I-It has information about all of us?!" Uraraka cried out, "B-But how?!"
"Even us that didn't even go to Paris?!" Kaminari cried out, "That's impossible!"
Everyone was freaking out, and Adrien didn't know what to do. He wasn't Class Rep. or anything like that. Then Midoriya took over for him and got everyone's attention.
"Everyone needs to calm down," Midoriya said back, "We don't even know what this means. Marinette hasn't even talked to us yet. This might not even mean anything."
"Wake up Deku. Someone is staying in that Caterpillar's lair with information on us," Bakugo said to him, "Clearly someone knows about our Japan over there. Whoever it is, they clearly are trying to come over here. If anything, it might even be Lila."
Something about that seemed to bother Midoriya. Adrien could tell that Midoriya probably talked to her recently or something like that. He looked nervous that it might be Lila, but Adrien could tell that he hoped it wasn't.
"No... Lila would never go back there..." Midoriya said to them, "She's been through enough... I know she wouldn't just leave everything behind to do this again. Especially since she finally got into an art school that she really wanted to go to. She sent me message earlier, saying that she was so excited about this school. She seemed so happy... She even talked to her mom about it... There's no way that she would just leave that behind like that..."
Everyone was shocked to hear this. No one expected Midoriya to share this with everyone since he's the only one that talks to her. Yaoyorozu talks to her too, but not recently it seemed.
"She didn't reach out to me. Then again, she knows you more than I do," Yaoyorozu said to him, "She seemed to be pretty happy to be leaving Japan six months ago. I can't see her wanting to pull something like this again. Whoever did this, it had to have been someone that somehow knows about us. It has to be one of her classmates. Someone that's close to her."
Adrien's eyes widened in shock, realizing that someone might be spying on her. He couldn't let this happen to her. If they were close to Marinette, they could easily find out about her being Ladybug. With her being a Guardian of the Miraculous, he had to make sure that things were okay. He clenched his fists in frustration, wishing that he could go over there right now.
"This is bad," Adrien said to them, "If someone knows about Marinette being Ladybug, they could easily take some Miraculous from her. Or worse, take the Miracle Box. That happened before, we can't let that happen again."
He side glanced at Chloe, and she avoided his eye contact with him. She knew exactly what he was talking about.
Everyone felt bad for Adrien, and they wondered if there was something that they could do to help protect the Miraculous. Then Yaoyorozu spoke up with an idea.
"Adrien! You're Guardian of the Miraculous now. If Marinette can use her yo-yo grab the Miraculous from the Miracle Box, then that means you should be able to do it too," Yaoyorozu explained to him.
Adrien's eyes widened in shock, realizing that she was right. He could grab one from his baton if he wanted to. He was curious if he could actually do that and looked at his Miraculous. He was about to transform, but then his phone rang from his backpack. Iida was ready to lecture him, but then Adrien's eyes widened to see Marinette calling him.
"It's Marinette," Adrien said to them, "I have to answer this. This could be important."
Everyone looked at him and nodded for him to answer. He answered the phone call and put it on speaker.
"Marinette. You're on speaker with Class 2-A," Adrien said to her, "We know what's going on."
They could that she wasn't expecting to have everyone there on the phone call. Adrien gave her a minute to collect herself. He noticed that she seemed to be out of breath as if she had dealt with an akuma or something like that.
"Adrien! Thank goodness you answered," Marinette said back, "Everyone's here. I guess that makes things easier."
"Yeah. We wanna help you in anyway we can," Adrien said to her, "We'd come over, but--"
"Don't! I need everyone to stay there for now," Marinette interrupted, "Some things have come up. I can't have Class 2-A running around. Not when things have changed."
They all looked at each other, wondering what that meant exactly. Whatever happened over there, they knew that it had to do with that machine and the portal. She clearly didn't want anyone passing through the portal.
"Why? What's going on Marinette? I have to explain what's going on," Midoriya asked her, "There's gotta be something that we can do to help you out."
They could tell that Marinette contemplating on what to do as she tried to catch her breath. Something about it seemed to worry them about what was going on.
"Adrien. Remember how you said that you have a new classmate to me?" Marinette said back, "Well... There's actually a new girl in our school as well. It happened around the same time."
Adrien and everyone else's eyes widened in shock, wondering what this meant. Skylar wasn't that bad of a classmate, but she was a little weird at times. She was a bit much and really outgoing, but that was about it. Although her quirk was pretty crazy, and she was even naturally strong. Adrien didn't understand how this had anything to do with the portal or the machine back in Paris.
"So? It's not that weird, right?" Adrien said back a little nervously, "There's a new school year for you over there right now."
"Yeah, but not for you guys," Marinette said back, "You told me this Skylar girl just started at U.A., right?"
Everyone didn't understand where this was going, but found it weird that Skylar showed up so late in the school year. They didn't know her very well, but it was very weird and random to suddenly have a new classmate. U.A. even got a recommendation of her and accepted her into the school pretty quickly. Then again, she was pretty strong and had a pretty unique quirk.
"Yeah, but she has a pretty unique quirk and is so strong. It made sense that U.A. would take her in so late in the school year," Yaoyorozu explained to them, "That's not that weird for U.A. to do that."
"Yeah, but the timing is a bit weird. You've gotta admit Yaoyorozu, it's a little bizarre," Uraraka said to her.
"But what the hell does this have to do with that damn machine? Their just new extras," Bakugo said to them.
Marinette hesitated to talk, and Adrien worried about her. She didn't say anything, which got them riled up a little.
"Marinette? Is everything okay over there?" Adrien asked her, "Do you need me to keep an eye on any of the Miraculous?"
For a moment, she sounded like she was talking to someone next to her. It sounded like Alya, and they were trying to figure out what to do.
"Adrien... There's something that you need to know about..."
Another amazing chapter!
This was kind of an interesting chapter to write! Nothing but a conversation between Adrien, Chloe and Class 2-A! This will definitely get interesting, but I also don't want to rush things. I like taking my time with these stories. That's why they're so long, LOL! I like Midoriya and Adrien's relationship, I find them a fun duo to have around U.A. I love that everyone's ready to help Marinette even if they don't quite understand what's going on. There's clearly something weird going on, but no one knows what exactly. We'll see what happens soon enough. It looks like Marinette needs to explain some things.
