A unexpected knock at the Gilbert door surprised Elena as she stood in the foyer getting her bag together to go out. Walking over and opening the door she was stunned to see none other then Bonnie standing on the doorstep.

"Hi,"

"Hey, I couldn't sleep last night. You were obviously upset about something at the grill and I just walked away, it's not me, that can't be us. You're my friend Elena if you need me I'm here for you, and I'm sorry that i couldn't show you that,"

"I met my birth mother,"

"Oh, was it? Are you okay?," she asked seeing Elena's eyes fill with tears.

As Elena shook her head no Bonnie stepped forward pulling her into a hug.

At the school Eliza and Jeremy had shown up to help mainly Matt and Tyler despite it being Caroline's event.

Matt and Eliza were putting together the side of the float when Tyler walked up.

"Hey man. So Caroline tells me that you've been on your own the past two weeks, is everything okay?,"

"You're asking me about my mom?," as Eliza heard that she slipped away cause it was gonna get awkward.

Walking around the school yard she really didn't want to be part of this but knew it meant a lot to her mother that she be involved in certain things.

Heading inside she stumbled upon Bonnie inside one of the science labs.

"How goes the lessons with the family?,"

"Eliza, it's going great will never be able to thank Nik enough for reuniting us,"

"He knows he is happy he did even if he doesn't show it," she laughed as they hugged for a sec.

"So Emily's spell book huh,"

"Yep been going through it since grams died check this out,"

"That's the vampire compass," Eliza was surprised to see the details of one of Jonathon Gilbert's inventions in Emily's book.

"According to Emily Jonathon Gilbert never actually succeeded in inventing anything. Emily secretly spelled them all with magic. Compass, rings, and the mystery device you told me about,"

"Yeah that's it, well part of it. Damon only has the one piece,"

"Emily pledged her loyalty to Katherine, but she couldn't stand by and watch innocent people get killed. This was the only way she could think of to help, to let Jonathon Gilbert believe he actually invented these devices,"

"Does it say what it does?," Eliza asked flipping the page to see if there was more information.

"Are you sure this is what Isobel wants?,"

"Yeah I'm sure why?,"

"This is a weapon against vampires," Eliza was stunned this device was now a danger to her family and she had to deal with it.

Outside Elena was looking around Stefan when she heard Jeremy call out for her.

"Elena!,"

"Hey have you seen Stefan i need to find him,"

"No not lately, listen you have a second?,"

"Uh yeah what's up?,"

"It's Anna I left her all these messages and she hasn't gotten back to me not even a text,"

"Anna? I didn't even know you guys were still friends,"

"We're more then friends. Something could be seriously wrong if you know anything you got to tell me,"

"I haven't talked to her Jer,"

"Are you lying to me right now?,"

"Why would you say that?,"

"Cause that's what you do Elena you lie, you lie about everything. I know what Anna is, and I know that you know so tell me do you have any idea where she is?,"

"No, but Jer," Elena tried to keep talking to him but he stormed off not getting any useful help from her.

As she turned around she was startled to find Isobel standing in front of her.

"Isobel what are you doing here?,"

"I'm your mother Elena, I want to be more involved in your life,"

"I don't want you in my life,"

"I understand that you already have a lot of people that you care about,"

"But I've been studying, let's see if i got this right. There's the witchy best friend Bonnie, got to stay away from that one. Sad little brother Jeremy, and there's Caroline. Obnoxious Caroline i got all of my information from her by the way. She had no idea who I was but she wouldn't stop blabbing. There's Matt friend, ex, yappy's future ex lot's of connections there,"

"Matt's not involved in this,"

"He's involved with you isn't he,"

"You shouldn't be here, you need to leave,"

"No, I have some friends here too. See that man over there standing next to Matt by the float. His name's Frank very handsome and he's also quite handy. He noticed that the axle is quite rusted which is very dangerous. So all you have to do is apply a little bit of pressure and," as Isobel said that Frank jumped on the trailer crushing Matt's arm underneath.

Elena tried to rush over but Isobel grabbed her arm holding her in place. Thankfully she saw Eliza get to him and was checking him over as the guys around them tried to lift the trailer til Stefan helped and they managed to free Matt.

"Caroline call a ambulance," Stefan suggested as he walked around her as she rushed over to check on Matt.

Eliza knelt next to them and Matt leaned against her without realizing it for comfort.

"Why are you doing this?," Elena demanded as she turned back to Isobel.

"i'm showing you how easy it is to hurt the people that you care about. though I won't be going near your sister Eliza, not only is her fate in Katherine's hands but Damon would kill me,"

"You're doing this just cause of Jonathon Gilbert's invention?,"

"Hand it over and the fun will stop,"

"I told you Damon's not going to give it to me, ask Eliza he will do anything for her,"

"And I think you under estimate how much Damon care's about you,"

"He'll kill you before he gives it up,"

"Is that before or after I kill our brother Jeremy," Elena turned seeing Jeremy gone and when she turned back so was Isobel.

Eliza was pissed she could tell something was wrong and was determined to send out a text after she helped Matt.

"The ambulance is saying fifteen to twenty minutes,"

"I have my car I can take him to the hospital,"

"Caroline can take me,"

"I didn't drive,"

"Then i'll wait it's fine,"

"Matt you listen and listen good Tyler is going to take you to the hospital and if you argue with me I will kick your ass to the mood and back,"

"She's right you will not wait you need to see a doctor, Tyler's driving end of story,"

"Fine I will go," Matt agreed.

"Tyler tell them the Mackenzie's will take care of the bill no arguing," Eliza said side eyeing Matt.

Tyler nodded before going to get his car letting Matt sit for a few more minutes before he stood up to go to the hospital.
