Shortly after Elena made her way outside and noticed Damon standing alone.

"Hey how are you doing?,"

"Great Elena, walking on sunshine, thanks for asking,"

"Damon..,"

"Elena,"

"We should be able to talk about this. Damon we're close enough now. I really wanna know how you're doing,"

"I kissed you and thought you kissed me back. Doppelganger high jinks ensued. How you think I'm doing?,"

"I think you're hurt,"

"Mm no I don't get hurt Elena, no I rephrase that only Eliza has the power to hurt me,"

"No you don't admit that you get hurt. You get angry and cover it up, and then do something stupid,"

"You're scared. You think Katherine's going to send me off the deep end, don't you? This will be the first thing you and Eliza truly agree on being concerned about me and Katherine. I don't need her for that though you know why? Why would it be such a surprise that I would kiss you?,"

"That's not a surprise, I'm surprised you think I would kiss you back. I wouldn't do that to Stefan or Eliza,"

"Now I'm hurt,"

"Elena!,"

"Bonnie what happened?," and so Bonnie explained everything that had occurred before she arrived.

Inside Jeremy got lost looking for the washroom when he stumbled upon Tyler.

"Hey, sorry I was just looking for the..,"

"The bathroom's down the hall,"

"Hey look I'm sorry about your dad,'

"Today's been a big day of sorries from people who don't really give a crap,"

"I remember when our dad died, I had a house full of strangers telling me what a great guy he was. Anyways I know how hard that is,"

"Difference is, in your case it was true. You and Eliza had a great dad, my dad was a dick,"

"Yeah, yeah he was,"

"I found this in his desk," Tyler said handing Jeremy the flask in his hand as a peace offering.

"Go ahead he wouldn't mind he's dead,"

"Yeah you know what? Sure why not?," he laughed accepting it as Mason found them.

"Hey what's going on in here?,"

"Nothing, nothing,"

"You got somewhere else to be," Mason asked hinting at the fact he was suppose to be with Eliza while holding his hand out for the flask.

Sitting down on the desk Mason took a swig from the flask before giving it back to Tyler with a look of understanding.

"The Lockwoods have a lot more then they use to too, possessions of all the tomb vampires built them quite the fortune,"

"Yeah why did you want them dead? You're the one who turned most of them,"

"There's nothing more annoying then a vengeful vampire Stefan just ask John Gilbert,"

"Except a vengeful Mackenzie, Eliza wants you dead. Why did you kill her parent's?,"

"Boredom, I guess I never thought she would ever access the tomb or even be alive again,"

"Next time you'll be more careful,"

"Maybe," Katherine shrugged but knew Stefan was right.

"You haven't changed at all have you?,"

"But you have. You're stronger, meaner, sexy,"

"Don't flirt with me Katherine I'm not Damon. I haven't spent 145 years obsessed with you,"

"Yeah based on your choice of women I'd say otherwise,"

"I was more focused on atoning for who I had become and how I let Elizabeth down in 1864,"

"Always the good guy eh Stefan,"

"You killed my sister, you're lucky I found her again or I would have killed you already," Stefan made it clear he didn't care about her anymore.

"Though the truth about you is that you're the same lying, selfish, manipulative bitch that you've always been. So whatever it is that brought you here why don't you just get on with it and leave town. Because if you don't I will hunt you down and I will rip out your heart, or hold you down so Eliza can have her revenge,"

"You want to know why I'm here Stefan? I came back for you,"

"Well the problem Katherine is that I hate you," as Stefan said that Katherine grabbed the nearest lawn spike shoving it in his stomach.

"You hate me huh? Well that sounds like the beginning of of a love story, not the end of one," as she pulled the spike out and dropped it on the ground Stefan fell to his knees as she took off.

Elena found him a few minutes later and helped him on the bench.

"You gonna be okay?,"

"Yeah it'll heal,"

"That's not what I meant,"

"I was trying to figure her out. I was playing along. I let her get to me,"

"Tried to track her but she's gone. Ew cover up fabio we got a crazy ex on the loose. Better watch out, looks like Katherine is trying to steal your guy,"

"That's not what's happening,"

"Isn't it? I mean it's only fair since I went after your girl,"

"Behave Damon," Eliza chided him as Jeremy guided her to the bench to sit.

"You shouldn't be out here,"

"I can protect myself even after a major power usage, ask Stefan since I got her once today already,"

"It's true," Stefan agreed as Eliza placed her hand on his arm.

"I'm gonna go inside and check on things let me know when you guys are done," Elena stood grabbing her purse before heading inside.

"So what's it going to be a fight to the death. Go ahead make your threats, stake your claim,"

"I'm not going to fight you,"

"And you won't either Damon now knock it off this is serious with the bitch around,"

"Why? I'd fight me,"

"Katherine is going to try to play us against each other you do know that right? Eliza is likely going to get hurt, no offense, either physically or emotionally, likely both. Nik will kill us the moment she is in danger. We should include him to help us take her down,"

"He does want her dead but he will lock her down til he can use her for the piece of business he is working on,"

"Does it affect all of us or just him?,"

"Mainly him and some me but in a good way,"

"Brother and Lizzie don't you worry our bonds are unbreakable,"

"We have to stay united against her. So yes as much as I would love to kill you I'm not going to fight you,"

"I kissed Elena,"

"Because you feel something for her, because you actually care. And I'm not going to let Katherine come in an destroy that part of you that has finally after all this time willing to feel something. She'll try to break you. She'll try to break us and how we respond to that will define us. It's our choice, and we have Eliza to fight for again we have back the one woman that Katherine knew could keep us away from her only this time she has magic to do so even more,"

"Stefan is right Damon. She will try to rip us all apart. You and me, me and Stefan, and the three of us again. I can't have 1864 repeat itself all over again. If you break my heart again Damon you may not get a redo cause if what Nik is planning works I will be immortal too and forever is a long time to hate you,"

"So no I'm not going to fight you," Stefan said walking away leaving Damon behind as Jeremy took Eliza's arm and together they left Damon to his thoughts.
