The UHA and Aether sat around the Serenitea Pot field, awaiting the New Year's sunrise. Chowing down on dango sticks, they watched the kids play with their sparklers and fireworks on the lawn. Klee and Kachina did a cute dance with Little One. Diona made fresh drinks for everyone, and Nahida passed out candied nuts. The UBA had also joined the celebrations.
Aether lay on the blanket beside Paimon and Little One. The girls all lay nearby, talking amongst themselves, and counting the seconds till sunrise.
It was Yoimiya who suddenly declared, "Hey! We should all say our New Year's Resolutions! I'm going to make even bigger and better fireworks this year!"
Charlotte said, "I'm going to work even harder as a journalist."
"I'm going to make the Spina de Rosula even more famous!"
"I'll improve the accuracy of my divinations. (And make enough Mora to cover the rent somehow)."
"I'll secure funding for my research," declared Faruzan.
"I'll join the Knights of Favonius one day."
Cryo Cincin Mage ran her hand over her Vision with a smile. "I'll keep doing what I love."
"I'll get even more certifications."
Kirara said, "I'll integrate into human society."
Shenhe said, "I shall integrate into Liyue Harbor."
"I'll master reading and writing," said Jeht. "And I'll protect my new family.
"Same," said Katarina.
"Same," added Lynette. "Exiting speaking mode."
"I'm going to keep Little One away from Xiangling," said Tighnari, not as a resolution but a statement. He hurried back to the kitchen to keep the chef busy with more orders.
"Um… I guess I'll learn even more reading," said Collei.
"I'll be here to assist you," said Arlecchino. "And I'll look out for the children.
"I'll keep making everyone smile," said Barbara.
"I'll try to get all my class credits and graduate," murmured Layla.
"And I can do more alchemy."
"I'll do my best for Mondstadt," said Jean.
"I'll do my part for Liyue," said Ningguang.
"Same here," said Beidou. "I'll help my nation and my crew."
"I'll maximize my energy levels. I'll lead Watatsumi well."
"I'll do what I have to do," said Yelan mysteriously.
"I'll finish those balance sheets and income statements," Ganyu promised. Aether gave her a look. "Fine, I'll try to get more sleep."
"Agreed," said Rosaria. "I could stand to work less."
"Me too," yawned Xilonen.
"Sleeping sounds good," said Lisa. Under her breath, she muttered, "Of course, I'll be sleeping more with a certain cutie."
"I shall protect my village," said Candace.
"I shalt restore the glory of the Immernachtreich!"
At the same exact time, Keqing, Ayaka, Nilou, and Furina said, "I'll have Aether's babies one day." They all looked at each other. "Wait, you too?!" Pause. "Stop that." They each scowled. "Stop copying me!"
Before their shenanigans could escalate any further, Dehya said, "I'll get stronger."
"One shall create more mechanical masterpieces."
"Chiori Boutique will become famous the world over."
"I'll keep the peace," said Chevreuse.
"I'll be there to help you, Chevreuse," said Emilie. The two exchanged grins.
"Likewise," Clorinde said. "I'll do my part for Fontaine."
"I'm going to rock my new costume," said Hu Tao. "And I'll endeavor to be weirder."
"Gonna write more killin' music," Xinyan beamed.
Eula paused. After a moment, she said, "I will keep believing in others, no matter what."
Amber rested her hand on Eula's and said, "And I'll keep being your friend." Eula blushed, muttering her vengeance line
"Whenever guests come to visit the People of the Springs, I'll be there to greet them as the number one tour guide!"
"I shall write more operas to celebrate Liyue culture."
"I'll live well for Chuychu," said Chasca.
"I'll beat Aether in a fair fishing contest," said Yanfei.
"I'll be relevant," said Aloy.
"I'm going to have more sex with Aether," said Yae Miko without looking up from her light novel. "Like a lot more sex, like break your pelvis levels."
"Crap, I was going to say that," said Mirror Maiden. "Well, I'm going to make lots of love too."
"Hm, I think I'll make my cutie call me mommy a thousand times this year," said Lisa with a chuckle. "I'll take such good care of him~"
Ei took a deep breath. "I shall continue moving forward without regrets, embracing whatever the future brings."
"And I'll keep cooking food," chimed Xiangling from the window. She tucked her head back inside and chanted, "Come on, Guoba! We got more orders to fill!"
"RAWR!" (I shall attempt to earn even more awards/chew toys this year for my movie, film, and TV work.)
"Paimon will keep being the bestest travel companion ever!"
Aether smiled. "I'll find Lumine. Until then, I'll cherish every second I spend in Teyvat. And I'll be the best boyfriend ever."
"You already are the best boyfriend ever," said all the women present.
Somewhere in the field, Teucer, Klee, and Shuyu tuckered themselves out and took a nap. Tubby also dozed off, taking a well-deserved break. The UBA men made their own resolutions. Kujo Sara and Itto got into an argument that soon escalated into a make-out session. All was right with the world.
Then, light broke over the horizon, and the sun rose. New Year had come. Aether grinned at his gathered family.
