Happy Thanksgiving to you all! here's your treat!

Remnant

"This is Lisa Lavender with terrible news. A mass breakout from the Prison of Elders has occurred, releasing over 4000 inmates of numerous factions. 250 of them are considered VIP and extremely dangerous. Bounties have been posted on both Huntsman and Guardian Bounty Boards. What's even more terrible is the death of Hunter vanguard, cayde-6. Cayde-6 was the one who led the charge almost two years ago leading a strike force of Guardians through a Vex portal straight to Remnant to deal with the vex Invasion. Details on his death have been disclosed to Huntsmen academy Headmasters, and Council members of all four Kingdoms…"

On Remnant, many heard the news about the Hunter vanguard's death along with the numerous prisoners that have escaped. Some were more worried about said prisoners coming to Remnant. And some were in mourning about the death of Cayde-6. Headmaster Ozpin of beacon Academy sat in his office, gazing upon his Kingdom with sadness in his eyes. He remembered having his first conversation with Cayde right after clearing up the Vex. Sharing one another's culture, stories, exploits. It felt good to talk to someone that was immortal like himself. But with this revelation about his death and how it was brought about, he raised his mug to a fallen ally and friend.

Weiss Schnee heard the death of Cayde-6 and shed tears for him. She remembered how he saved her and her team in the defunct Merlot Labs in Mountain Glenn. He may be as immature as her leader, but he gave them pointers when needed. She knew that her teammates, Yang and Ruby accompanied him on some mission. Deciding on a course, she picked up a Scroll and made arrangements.

On Menagerie, Blake Belladonna heard the news. Despite his playful teasing of her faunus traits, even gifting her a bag of catnip from last Dawning, she knew his death had a huge impact for not only her team, but numerous others. Getting a message from Weiss and seeing what she planned to do, she made arrangements to meet with her.

And the rest of their team.

On Earth in the Last City, it was quiet. No ships going to and from over the city. Lanterns with the Ace of Spades symbol on them were sent into the air, a tribute for a fallen friend, ally and Guardian. Numerous Guardians sat and mourned. Saint-14 and Osiris laid besides one another on their bed, comforting one another, Banshee-44 shed oily tears, ramen shops closed their doors for prayers and mourning. Guardian, Human, Exo, Awoken, Faunus and Eliksni from House Light sat in silence for a lost hero.

But the biggest tears shed were from the remaining two Vanguard, Ikora Rey and Commander Zavala.

In an undisclosed room, the two stood motionless over the covered remains of their friend, Summer Rose standing back allowing them their time.

Ikora looked down; eyes red with tears shed. "He had the worst jokes. The worst timing for everything. I tried to laugh; I really...I really did." She said, a cry escaping her lips as she laid a hand on his chest that was covered by the Guardian flag. "We should have been there from the beginning. But he, stubborn as always, just had to round up a posse and play cowboy without us." She turned to Summer who was still silent. "I don't blame you or your daughters for what happened. No one could have predicted this. This is all Uldren Sov's fault." She said, venom coming out of her voice. Sparks of Void Light coming from her clenched fist. "We will call upon everyone. Every Titan, Warlock, Hunter, Huntsman and Huntress, and Eliksni alike and hunt that son of a bitch down. Then we will mount his head on his precious throne. Foe everyone. For Cayde."

"No."

Both Ikora and Summer turned to Zavala who said that word.

"No?" Ikora asked, thinking she misheard what he said.

"We are not an army. We are not conquerors. We are Guardians. We need to focus not only on the escapees from the Prison of Elders, but on what is coming." He said, reminding them of what was coming. Several months back, him and one Penny Polendina were brought to one of the Warmind's seraph Bunkers and shown recordings of what occurred during the Collapse long ago. Which also included a hologram of what was responsible. A series of tetrahedron ships similar in size to the Traveler itself.

All evidence pointed that these ships are what was now called The Darkness.

After that, Zavala along with the reactivated Warmind partnered with Acting-General Winter Schnee of the Atlas Military to prepare for its eventual return. A return that according to the Warmind's calculations, almost a year from now.

"Zavala, I know you are preparing for the coming battle, but to ignore Uldren and those under him…"Ikora began.

"The Reef was lost the moment it's Queen vanished without a trace. If another Sov wants to rule over a pile of useless rocks, he can have it…I will not lose any more friends to this. Not when the friends I have left will be needed by my side when it arrives." Zavala said, looking down at the covered face of his friend.

"You won't have to."

Both Ikora and Zavala turned to Summer who looked at them with a look of determination in her eyes. That look even made Zavala take a step back from how intimidating she looked. He recalled a similar look he saw of her when she faced down Crota long ago, and how it unnerved him.

"Uldren Sov is mine."

She then turned to leave, but before she left the threshold of the doorway, Zavala stopped her.

"Guardian Summer Rose. If you do this…you do it alone. No help from the Vanguard. You understand?"

She stood still with her back to him. "I know." She said before she left.

"What the Hellmouth do you mean that Summer is going after Uldren Sov alone!?" Lux Syphoid, Warlock of Fireteam Nero and Summer Rose's teammate shouted at her fellow Titan. Said Titan, Prometheus-23 who was the Titan and heavy-hitter of said Fireteam tried to calm down his partners fury, and rightfully so. "She said that Zavala said that Uldren and these Scorned Barons are not to be targeted, officially. Unofficially, Summer is going solo to hunt him down." Prometheus-23 said.

"All the more reason for us to go with her."

"Despite him being a murderer, he is technically next in line to the Awoken throne, thus technically has immunity. Zavala doesn't want to risk a war with the Awoken when we got IT coming in a year or less. Not to mention all of these VIPs that are now loose." Prometheus-23 said, his Ghost Pan displaying several of the VIPs. "Siviks, Lost to None; Phyzaan, Drowned Captain; Devotees of Ghaul; Prince of Yul; the list goes on. Each and every one of them is a potential threat in Sol and on Remnant. Already reports are coming in about a few of these targets are there. Which is why Summer wants us to deal with them."

Lux closed her mouth to contemplate what her fireteam leader wanted them to do. Protect everyone while she took care of Uldren. Even if technically, he is royalty, any backlash would fall on her shoulders instead of on her fireteam. Typical Summer putting her fireteam first. She sighed, then took a look at the VIPs along with the rest of the escapees. "Alright, lets see who to go after first."

Summer Rose double and triple checked everything outside of her Jumpship, which she named the Cloud Errant II, named after the one that was destroyed during the opening battle that was the Red War.

She had Drei come out and begin transferring some of the weapons from her place along with those within the Vaults. She exchanged a few of the weapons on her with those she knew could be helpful for this endeavor.

"Summer, you know you could call upon your teammates to help you." Drei began.

"I know, but you've seen the VIP list along with the other 4000 prisoners that escaped. This is a 'calling all Guardians' type of situation. They can miss one Hunter." She said before going back to her ship, satisfied with her load-outs. She took five steps before stopping in her tracks. She tried to move, but found that she couldn't move. Her eyes noticed a familiar glyph below her feet, but instead of the traditional white snowflake, it was black.

"Hey there, Ice Queen. Didn't think you were here on Earth." She said turning her head to see Weiss Schnee alongside her daughters Yang and Ruby and their other teammate Blake. Weiss had her weapon out and was using it to point at Summer's feet, keeping the glyph in place. "You do know that this glyph can't hold me forever, right?"

"Long enough for us to convince you." Blake said.

"Convince me of what?" She asked.

"To take us with you." Ruby said.

That simple sentence ground Summer's mind to a complete halt.

"No. Absolutely not. Not only is it dangerous, but officially, "Summer began.

"Officially, Commander Zavala said that due to his royal status, Uldren Sov is not to be targeted until the escapees of the Prison of Elders along with the VIPs listed are dealt with. And we are not Guardians, nor are we licensed huntsmen." Blake said.

Summer had to give to give her credit for seeing said loophole, but was still adamant.

"Be that as it may, you have no idea what you'll be getting into. Even I don't know what I'm getting into, but I can resurrect, you guys can't."

"You are correct on that. But we've faced worse. We went against the Red Legion during the Red War. I think we can handle a stuck-up royal pain in the butt and his flunkies." Yang said. Summer was still against it. "Cayde wasn't just your mentor. He was a mentor to us, a friend, an uncle. We feel his loss too and its only right that we share that loss together and take Uldren down together." Ruby said determinative. Summer smiled at their admirable initiative and argument. "I like your gumption, I really do. But the place I'm going to, according to Drei is dangerous, I can't go against Uldren and his cronies and keep you all safe at the same time. You four are not coming with me and that's final. You can't convince me otherwise." Summer said.

In response, Ruby moved her shoulders up and down and stretched her neck before looking her mother in the eye. She then opened her mouth.

In the crowded Cloud Errant II, Summer was at the controls of her ship with team RWBY sitting in the back. "How did she convince us?" Drei asked his Guardian confused. "She's my daughter, she finds a way." Summer said, also confused at how her daughter talked her into this. The ship rose up into the air and flew high into the sky to their destination.

The Reef

Uldren Sov sat on his sisters throne looking down at the hand-cannon in his hands. After starring at it for what felt like an eternity, he found the right words for the situation he found himself in.

"Yes…I am humbled by your gracious acceptance to my new position. Mara Sov, my sister, your queen may be gone for now. But, she is with us all. And with me as your new king, I will bring about a new era for all." He said looking around the throne room. He saw the dead bodies of the Awoken Corsairs that tried to bar him and his friends from entering. How they tried to kill them. And how his friends done away with said traitors. He looked upon his friends after they made certain that they were truly dead instead of playing false.

He looked upon his friends, the Scorned Barons as they stared at him with rapt attention. "As for you, my friends, my Barons, my new family. You took me in when I was cast out, adrift in the system. Rejected, like you all have been. You gave me a place to be accepted. And for that, as my first decree, I give you the bounty that is the Tangled Shore to do with as you please. Go, unleash…chaos."

The Scorned Barons cheered and left to claim what was theirs. As they left, one stayed behind, the one known as Fikrul. Uldren looked upon his most trusted. "Fikrul, you know where to go. Raise my army." Fikrul nodded and kneeled before him. "By your grace, father." He said before he joined the rest of his brethren. Uldren watched as Fikrul left, smiling. Long ago, when Uldren worked alongside the now defunct House of Kings, during one of their operations, he stumbled upon the broken body of Fikrul. Reaching out to his sister for aid, he used her power to bring him back as the first of his new army, the Scorn. Hence, why Fikrul always called him father.

Uldren laid back on the throne, looking upon the dead that remained. "You would have been proud of your people, my sister. Their love for you, after all these years hasn't diminished one bit. Their loyalty to you, unbreakable."

"That is why they had to go." She said as she traced her fingers along his shoulders. Mara Sov looked down at the remains of her Corsairs that protected her throne. "Their love was pure, but fleeting. Their devotion, is forever. Yet, none of them tried to find me, none except you. Your strength and devotion to me has pushed you far beyond what was expected and placed you down a path that will lead them from the stagnant state they are in, to a brighter future. But in order for them to rise, they must fall to the brink of extinction." She knelt before him, looking him in the eyes. He saw her before him, her lithe figure in her royal purple garbs, her silver hair as it always was, and her pale eyes shining with love for her brother. "Seek me. Find me. Free me." She said before fading away. This has been a constant thing for the last few years. She would appear before him, guiding him to the path to her. Yet, fade away.

He got up from the throne, took one of the torches from the wall. Gazing upon the throne one last time, a relic of a past age, he tossed it onto the ground. Soon the throne, the banners, even the bodies caught fire as he left, never looking back.

The Scorned Barons talked amongst themselves about what they plan to do with the Tangled Shore along with the resources and people residing within.

"I've heard that there is a small sect of Hive living in the remains of a crashed Hive ship. What wonderful experiments I can make of them." Hiraks said as he rubbed his chitinous claws together. Reksis Vahn grunted, imagining all of the servitors that he will crush with his bare hands, for there were many houseless Servitors that made the Tangled Shore their home. Yaviks and Elykris discussed how to divide the junkyards of the Tangled Shore amongst themselves. Kaniks and Araskes talked about creating some sort of game for some of the inhabitants to play. And Pirrha loaded up more rounds into his rifle while looking down at the bundle that was in his lower hands. Five more green spikes, similar to the ones that done in Cayde-6's Ghost that made him mortal. All five with Hive script of the names of five individuals that were responsible for him and his cohort's imprisonment in the first place. He already took out their leader, its only fitting that the others followed suit.

Petra Venj, Suraya Hawthorne, Banshee-44, Nadiya, and Qrow Branwen.

"One down, five to go." He said smiling.

Deep withing the Twilight Gap, Fikrul walked amongst the fields. This place was where several thousand of Fallen fought and lost their lives to the Guardians in what is today known as the Battle of Twilight Gap. Despite the fact that the field was green and flourishing, small bits of the battle still littered the field, both above and below. Ever since his father resurrected him long ago, Fikrul had an affinity for the deceased of his former kind. He could sense where the body was and sought it out, like a bloodhound after a scent. And below his feet were thousands of bodies just waiting for him.

Channeling the Dark Ether that was within his body, he slammed his staff onto the ground. If his father wanted an army, he will give him one.

The Dark Ether flowed onto the ground and spread around him, seeping into the ground and out around him. It kept going after fifty feet, a hundred, two hundred. He could feel the tremors beneath his feet as the dark Ether found new homes within. "Rise my children, and be part of something greater." He said as the dirt shifted and a dead claw of a Fallen broke the surface.
