Chapter Ninety-Nine

Gauntlet Showdown

A couple of miles away at an abandoned service station, Breakdown glaring up at Airachnid who was admiring the gauntlet she had snatched from him.

After Breakdown had fled from Arcee and Bulkhead he had transformed into his vehicle mode and driven off, yet he didn't get very far as he had gotten caught in a net of webbing that Airachnid had sprayed before him and before long, he had found himself wrapped up against the gas station like prey caught in the wed with her dangling the gauntlet before him.

She analysed the gauntlet then activated it and it roared to life over her slender hand.

"It fits!" she smirked "You know, a girl can never have too many accessories!"

Breakdown struggled and growled, yet the webbing was too strong the way it was wrapped around him, he looked up at Airachnid, and he felt furious at what he was about to do, but he felt he had a chance if he tried to bargain with her.

"You were a Decepticon once!" he said, "We could bring the prize to Megatron together!"

But Airachnid just chuckled wickedly.

"Go back to that boys club?" she asked, "I struck out on my own because I don't like to share!" she snapped.

"This!" she stated holding up the gauntlet "Will provide the perfect repellent against bots and cons alike!"

She then sprayed Breakdown's face with webbing to gag him.

"Now stay nice and quiet whilst I figure out how to work this little do-hickey!"

She held up the gauntlet and was about to study it more when she heard some revving engines not far away.

She frowned.

"Ugh!" she spat "Can't I get a moment's peace anywhere?!"

She turned around only to see Bulkhead and Arcee in their vehicle forms driving down towards her, yet before she could move or say anything, both Autobots transformed into their Bipedal forms and started firing at the Spider Bot!

Airachnid jumped back a few feet then she cried out in shock as one of Arcee's shots knocked the gauntlet out of her servo!

"No!" she cried and tried to make a grab for it, but out the corner of her eyes she saw a flash of green then saw a young female mutant half dragon swoop down and grab it!

"Got it!" Freya shouted as she flew up into the air.

Airachnid's eyes widened as she saw the female Geckoling fly into the air holding the gauntlet in her paws.

"What is this?" she cried "Another freak like the one I captured the other night?"

"That's Geckoling to you bitch!" a voice was heard above her head and she looked up to see Loki flying down at her then he opened his mouth and blew a jet of fire into her face!

Airachnid shouted in both shock and anger as she got a face full of fire and she fell backwards.

"Nice shot Loki!" Freya shouted down as she started to fly towards Bulkhead and Arcee with the Gaunlet.

"Nice job kids!" Bulkhead cheered but he soon saw Airachnid recover and hold up her blaster.

"Look out!" he shouted but it was too late as Airachnid blasted at Freya and the blast hit the gauntlet knocking it out of her grip and making the Geckoling flip over before losing control and starting to fall to the ground!

"Freya!" Loki shouted in horror as he flew towards Freya, and he managed to catch her before she hit the ground!

Unfortunately, the gauntlet hit the ground before anyone could catch it and no sooner did it hit the ground than it roared to life and the magnetic energy it gave off started to pull everything metal in attraction distance towards it!

Sadly, that meant the Autobots and the two cons!
Loki flapped his wings and got out of range as he flew high into the sky.

Looking around he saw Sonia who was a good distance away yet was watching everything with worry.

After she, Loki and Freya had followed Breakdown to get the gauntlet after freeing Arcee and Bulkhead, they had set the Chameleon down at a safe distance as well as left anything metal with her, then flew in to help Arcee and Bulkhead.

Needless to say, Sonia wasn't happy about the Geckolings going in to help, despite their strength and magic equalling that of their father, but she couldn't stop them, yet she made them promise to stay safe and not do anything out of their depth.

She found it rather funny that she was telling the twins that as it was something she often told Pandora more than the other children.

"Sis! Frey? You alright?" Loki asked his sister concerned as he held her bridal style.

Freya meanwhile shook of stars as she looked at her brother.

"I think so..." she said, "What happened?" she looked over then down to see the battle below as well as the gauntlets energy.

"I've flown us out of range!" Loki reported "Can you fly?"

Freya nodded as she moved her wings.

"I can." she said, "but hold my hand just in case."

Loki nodded and holding his sister's hand he let her go and she opened her wings to fly, and she was able to keep herself up in the air.

"I'm okay brother." She said to which Loki looked relieved then they both looked down at the scene below.

As the Gauntlet's energy drew all the metal objects as well as the Cybertronians towards it, Breakdown found himself getting pulled and the pull from the gauntlet was stronger than the webs holding him in place, and he could feel them straining almost like an elastic band about to snap from being pulled apart too hard.

Airachnid dug her spider legs into the ground, yet she was pulled hard almost like some invisible hands were either pulling or pushing her towards the gauntlet.

Bulkhead fell on his front and dug his digits into the ground as well as hung onto Arcee so she wouldn't fly away from him.

Meanwhile, as Breakdown was pulled away from the gas station, he found himself free of the webbing and he saw the gauntlet wasn't far away from him!

As soon as he was free, he made a grab for it and was able to cut off the energy.

At the same time, Bulkhead and Arcee stood back-to-back and faced the two cons, Bulkhead faced Breakdown whilst Airachnid faced Arcee.

Seeing the fact that they had two enemies to deal with to get the gauntlet back, Airachnid looked at Breakdown with a sly smirk.

"Still up for a truce Muscles?" she asked.

Breakdown glared.

"Only because I hate Bulkhead more than I hate you!" he spat, and he went for Bulkhead striking with his hammer.

At the same time, Arcee and Airachnid fought in hand-to-hand combat then after a while Bulkhead managed to punch Breakdown away with his wrecking ball then turned to face Airachnid pushing Arcee behind him.

"Need a hand?" he asked.

"No!" Arcee insisted as she didn't want anyone to take down Airachnid unless it was her and her alone "She's mine!"

Meanwhile Bulkhead's punch wasn't strong enough to keep Breakdown down and he sat up and looked at the two Autobots facing Airachnid.

He held up his hand with the gauntlet and activated it.

"Two bots, one stone." He smirked then activated the gauntlet and turned to an oil derrick that was nearby before using the gauntlet to pull it apart then send a piece towards Bulkhead!

Arcee as she had been trying to get past Bulkhead, she saw it coming and shouted to warn the wrecker, yet it was too late as it hit Bulkhead in the head and knocked him on top of Arcee before she had a chance to move, and she was soon pinned under him!

Bulkhead groaned as he saw stars, yet Arcee tried to get free to no avail.

"Bulkhead!" she struggled under him "Get off!"

As she tried to pull herself free, she suddenly saw a foot appear before her then stamp on her servo making her cry out in pain, and she looked up to see Airachnid smirking down at her.

"Pinned like a bug!"

The Spider Bot cackled as she had her hands on her hips and gloated down at the Autobot femme below her before making her spider legs appear.

"Of course, I can think of one permanent way out of your predicament!" she smirked as Arcee looked up in horror and tried to pull herself free of the unconscious Bulkhead.

At the same time, she heard Breakdown's voice on the other side.

"I'll take topside." He jeered as he lifted his hammer.

Yet as he did, he felt something hit him in the back and he shouted in shock and turned to see Loki and Freya flying behind him their mouths ssmoking showing they had spewed fire at him.

"What the...?" he asked in alarm but then he felt a fist collide with his face and he was knocked backwards dropping the gauntlet as he was thrown back.

Freya and Loki soon saw Bulkhead had recovered and sat up letting Arcee get free from under him.

"I'm free!" Arcee cheered then went for Breakdown whilst Bulkhead went for Airachnid.

At the same time, the twins saw the gauntlet and they dived for it before grabbing it and flying up into the air with it.

"We got it!" Loki shouted holding it up like trophy.

Both Breakdown and Airachnid glared as they saw the Geckolings fly up into the air with it.

"You little brats!" Arachnid shouted as she kicked Bulkhead away from her by leaping on top of him and using her drilling move before leaping up into the air and transformed into her helicopter form.

"Give that back you freak brats!"

"Oh Niflheim!" Loki cursed as he saw Airachnid coming after them.

"Fly Freya! Fly!" he shouted as he grabbed her arm and both Geckolings started to fly away from Airachnid's helicopter form as she started to chase them.

Breakdown at the same time saw the Geckolings flying away with the gauntlet, and he glared before swiping Arcee away from him.

"Oh no you don't!" he growled and fired a missile towards them, yet Loki turned and shoving Freya aside as well as letting her hold the gauntlet, he glared before doing a few movements with his hands then a fireball formed in his paws, and he aimed it at the missile which got rocketed off course and towards where Airachnid.

The Spider-copter as much as she was a good flier she wasn't as quick and fast as a jet like Starscream as she saw the missile as it was blown off course and blew up in front of her!

As that happened, she was then blown out of the air and to the ground next to Breakdown who wasn't quick enough to get out of the way and they crashed into each other and lay senseless on the ground from the impact.

"Yes!" Loki cheered then looked down to see Bulkhead and Arcee looking up at them.

"Come on!" he shouted, "Let's get out of here before anything else happens!"

"Good idea kiddo!" Bulkhead shouted then grabbed Arcee before she could go for Airachnid whilst she was down.

"No! She's mine!" the Femme protested but Bulkhead dragged her away "Another time!" he shouted, "We must get the relic to Ratchet!"

"He's right!" Freya called over "Come on! Let's get back to Sonia and request a bridge back to base!"

She and Loki flew ahead with Bulkhead and Arcee behind them and hey soon met up with Sonia who was coloured a dark blue to black with fear.

"Wow..." she said, "That was so intense!"

"Tell me about it!" Loki said then he and Freya held up the Gauntlet "But we got the prize!"

"Great job!" Sonia cheered "Well done you two!"

Yet as she praised the Geckolings she was worried about what Tyroth would say when they returned to base, that was if they even knew what had happened if they had come out of their meeting before they returned.

Wow that was intense! And luckily our heroes walked away with the prize!
