Hello all! So I wanted to start off with a good news, bad news situation.
We'll rip it off like a band-aid, bad news first: updates may slow down since I'm starting a master's program! I can't wait to start, but it may impact how fast I get the chapters out.
Good news: I'm still writing! I will not forget the episodes for season 4. Since I knew that I was starting my master's program, I have already written this episode and Episode 4 completely, with Episodes 5 and 6 a few chapters in, and the beginning stages for Episodes 7, 8, and 9. As you all know, the season finale is also a few chapters in :)
I'll just post them a bit slowly to give me time to finish the other episodes and the season finale.
For those who are reading, reviewing, favoriting, and following I appreciate every one of you! Thank you in advance for sticking with me through this and I can't wait to have everything out in time!
"What was that about?" Sam scolded as she walked into Danny's room.
Danny groaned as he lay on his bed, throwing a baseball up and down, "Ever since Melody he has only had one thing on his mind. He doesn't care about anything else. Now he's scolding me for trying to gain control over my powers. Who does he think he is?"
"You know when he gets like that, he's worried. This is big for him. You guys need to resolve this before the date tomorrow, or else Tucker could get hurt," Sam said as she sat on the edge of his bed.
"I don't want to talk to him right now," Danny grumbled.
"I don't want you to either. Not until I talk to him first. He needs to cool down though. So in the meantime, do you want to do some spying?"
Danny immediately sat up, "You know where she is?"
Sam nodded, "Right now, she's at the mall. Wanna he-" Before Sam could finish, Danny transformed to Phantom, picked up Sam, and flew out of his house towards the mall.
Maddie was looking at a swabbed sample of the syringe contents on a strip through the microscope. "Jack, come take a look at this…" She moved to the side so Jack could look through.
"Is that what I think that is?" Maddie asked.
"If what you're thinking is particles of ecto ranium, then you would be correct," Jack said looking over at his wife.
Maddie shook her head and looked back in the microscope. "No wonder, Danny can't control his powers. He's essentially fighting the element that is used to prevent ghosts from using their powers. This is the same stuff we put in the ghost shield."
"So whoever this person is, they know what they're doing," Jack added.
"Another scientist," Maddie finished. She walked over to the lab table to start creating an antidote.
"What are you doing?" Jack asked.
"I'm creating something similar to ecto clarification. Remember when Vlad, Sam, and Tucker had the ecto acne? Something tells me if we use those same compounds, and mix it with some of Danny's ectoplasm, we'd be able to create an antidote, helping him gain control of his powers again."
"God, you're sexy when you talk all scientific," Jack said, hungrily.
Melody walked around the mall in search of an outfit tomorrow. Danny and Sam stuck their heads out from under their hoods. With Danny's intangibility not fully working right now, they needed a disguise to walk around the mall seamlessly.
"Danny, you know I'm behind you in everything, but if she's a ghost, how come your ghost sense hasn't gone off?" Sam asked.
"She has to be blocking it somehow. Either that or maybe that's just another thing that's acting out," Danny reasoned.
They looked over to Melody who was on the phone in what looked like a heated discussion. "If I could use my intangibility, we'd be able to get close enough to hear her."
Sam winced as she stood up, knowing what she needed to do, "I'll go up to her."
"That's going to blow our cover!" Danny whispered, tugging her back behind him.
"No, I'm just going to tell her I'm shopping too. We don't really have another choice. I'll try to get anything I can. Either that or try to gauge if she has the right intentions for this date," Sam said as she swatted his hands away, walking up to Melody.
"Yeah, I have to be there at 7. Well, when will it be - I have to go," Melody said quickly as she hung up. "Oh, hi Sam! What are you doing here? Uh, duh this is the mall so you're shopping too."
Sam cringed a bit since it was the same thing Tucker said to her when they first met, "Yeah, just looking for something for tomorrow. I figured we could go shopping together…" Sam trailed off. She was never good talking to another girl, so doing this was a big step for her, and totally out of character. "Plus, it'd be cool to get to know each other a bit before dinner tomorrow."
Melody cursed in her head. Tucker would be easy to fool, but Sam would be more observant. Trying to keep her mask, she smiled, "Absolutely! I heard the restaurant is more fancy, so I was looking for a dress," Melody said turning around to walk to the women's section of the store they were in.
"Oh sure, lead the way," Sam said trailing behind. She looked back to see Danny coming up behind too.
So far, Sam and Melody had gone into three different stores and had only been able to talk about what they thought they should wear, the restaurant, and what they thought looked good on the menu. Sam and Danny were squirming from the boredom of conversation topics.
"- so, yeah obviously I think a red dress would probably suit me well. Red is generally my color… Ooh, what are you thinking about for your hair? I think you would look so good with a light curl."
Sam scrunched her face, trying to stay calm, "Yeah maybe I'll try that." Reaching her limit, Sam decided to just go straight for the subject. "So, tell me. What do you like about Tucker?"
Melody seemed to be caught off guard a bit, but she quickly recovered. "I mean, he is pretty cute. Y'know, I think you would just look amazing in green. I think I saw a green dress back over there," She said quickly walking over to the other side. This sudden change of topic didn't go unnoticed by Danny and Sam.
"Is this not the cutest thing?!" Melody said holding up the short dark green dress, with a corset top and bell sleeves. "You can't tell me that isn't your style."
Sam took the hanger and looked at the dress. Melody smiled as she saw her consider it. "Go ahead, go try it on!" She said as she pushed Sam to the dressing room. Danny quickly followed after, making sure he was hidden by the pillar in the store.
As soon as Melody shut the door on Sam, her smile disappeared. "I'll be right back. I'm just going to get another dress I saw that I think I'm gonna try on."
Melody quickly walked away from the dressing room and picked up her phone to dial a number. Danny whimpered as he knew he had to make a choice. He also thought the dress looked pretty good, and he could only imagine how it would look on Sam. But Melody looked pretty eager to get away to make a phone call to whoever she dialed. Danny looked back and forth trying to make his decision.
Finally, he growled as he turned towards Melody. "Tucker, you owe me."
Danny walked slowly up to where Melody stood, keeping enough distance so she wouldn't be alarmed, but stood close enough to hear her conversation.
"-update?" Pause. "Good. I'll stop by beforehand to pick it up. Did you get a better understanding from that sample?" Danny's eyes widened, and his ears perked a bit. "ETA? Okay good. I have to go. Okay. Yep." She hung up and picked up a dress off the hanger to show Sam her pick.
As she walked by, Danny tilted his head away. "What was that about?" He asked himself.
"So she's picking something up before the date? She didn't say what?" Sam asked as she and Danny walked up the street to Tucker's house. Sam did end up buying the dress, so Danny wasn't too disappointed he didn't see it in the fitting room, but he hoped that he would see it soon.
"Nope. But it was a pretty sketchy conversation. So I still have my suspicions about her," Danny affirmed.
"Okay, so we find out as much as we can tomorrow," Sam amended. Danny scoffed.
"Yeah, that's if he still wants me there."
"You guys have been best friends for too long. You two just need to get over your testosterone and makeup," Sam scolded. She then turned over to Danny to see his face had a sorrowful expression. She grabbed his hand as they continued walking, "Hey, don't worry. Like I said before, I'll talk to him so he'll be open to talk to you."
"Thanks." Danny looked up to see Tucker's house in view. He took a deep breath and looked back at Sam, "Good luck with him."
Sam kissed his cheek, "I'll text you when you can come in." She then continued walking up to Tucker's house, opened his front door, and slipped in.
"Tucker?" Sam called out.
"I'm up here!" Tucker called out from his bedroom. Sam walked up the stairs and saw that Tucker was in the same position she found Danny in earlier; on his bed, throwing a ball up and down.
"I found your phone," Sam said handing Tucker his phone. He immediately grabbed it to see if Melody had texted him.
"Where did you find it?"
Sam shrugged her shoulders, "I went back to school and checked the Lost and Found box. It was in there."
"Thanks," Tucker said as he sent a text to Melody. "He was being a dick."
"You both were. You really think he doesn't want you to be happy?"
"No, I was just mad and said that."
Sam scoffed, "Why are you guys so dramatic?"
Tucker sat up, "Hey he started it!"
"Well, I know he wants to finish it. He just wants to be cool with you again," Sam noticed that Tucker lightened at her words. She gave a knowing smile, "and I know you want to be cool with him again…"
"Is he here?" Tucker asked, hopeful.
Sam brought her phone out and sent a text to Danny, "Yeah I just told him that you want to make up with him."
"Ugh! Why do you have to say it like that?!" Tucker whined. As soon as Danny appeared in the doorway, Tucker jumped off of the bed and they gave each other a bear hug.
"I'm sorry I was being a dick," Danny said.
"Nah, dude. I'm sorry. I was the one being the dick," Tucker stated.
"I'll leave you two alone," Sam smiled as she walked out of Tucker's room.
"Sam, why do you have to say it like that?" Both Danny and Tucker whined.
