I was restrained and taken the same route Black Doom was going. As we passed many different corridors, I saw many things happening. Black Arms soldiers training. Weapons being made. Tests happening on new items they came across in their travels. It was an all-out war they were prepared for. And one that would span the entire galaxy.
"Behold, KhĂ os," Black Doom lifted his arm to show the millions of soldiers abord the ship. "Your Destiny. This is who you are. To be my leading commander of my army. To bring destruction every place you step. To cause chaos wherever I point my finger. This is who you are."
I was disgusted. "You know nothing about who I am."
His eyes narrowed at me. "You would think much differently if you weren't taken from me in the first place." He turned and stared out to his army. "I had you created for the purpose of leading me to victory in my ongoing battle of domination. You were to be the perfect lifeform. The Ultimate Lifeform of Chaos. With you, I would have won this war over half a century ago.
"But, during my attempt to dominate Mobius, a small group of the Mobius forces managed to make it on my ship. They found you while still in your pod. And they sent you into deep space, far beyond my reach. They had hoped that being lost in space would make it so you would not survive. But their ring portal took you closer to the planet called Earth. And after you crashed, the scientists there took you.
He turned to me once more. "I have been searching for you for a long time. I knew that you were still alive. And now you have a job to complete."
"I won't do it." I refused.
He raised his hand again and dark chaos energy began to escape his being. My head started to hurt again, and my vision began to flash and blur. I fought against it. I was not going to allow myself to be controlled by him.
"Shadow." He loomed over me. "You may be my perfect creation with my blood in your veins, but I am still your master and controller. You will do as I command."
"No." I slumped down to my knees.
His hold released. "It's too early. Take our dear friend to enjoy some time to think. We will start on the convergence."
Black Arms soldiers came over to me and grabbed my arms. They dragged me down to the lower regions of the ship where I was thrown into a technologically advanced cell. Leaving me alone, I tried to escape with teleporting, but they had something that negated my powers. I was truly trapped. At least I knew some of Black Dooms plans. I knew why he wanted me. But why did he want Sonic?
"Perplexing, isn't it?" A voice pulled me away abruptly from my thoughts.
My head shot up. "Robotnik."
"Black Doom's plans are quite interesting I must say." He pressed his fingers together. "He has ambition and the resources to accomplish it. And now that he has you and your blue friend, he will get what he wants."
"And what do you get out of this?" And walked to the energy wall holding me in and glared at him.
He let in a gleeful breath. "Just the best thing I could ask for."
I waited for him to continue.
"Nothing, zilch, natha, absolutely zero benefits." He got closer and seemed to get even crazier with every word. "The only think I get to keep is my life. Which is miserable on this ship. There's no Lattes. And when Black Doom is done with his plan. He has no use for me."
"Then why are you helping him?" I punched the energy field.
"Weren't you listening? To stay alive, thank you very much. If I didn't help him and give him the Metal Sonics and lead him to you two. I would have been dead not much longer after the Ark exploded. So, I bided my time until I knew I could get the support I needed to get the hell off of this hellscape." He pointed to me.
I looked him over. "How do I know you're not pulling something?"
"Look, my black and red compadre," he pressed his fingers together again. "In order for Black Doom to get what he wants, he needs the Master Emerald, the Chaos Emeralds, you, and the blue rodent. He has all of those. What he doesn't have is Angel Island. Which is all the way on the other side of the galaxy. It took Black Doom over fifty years to find you and get here. It will take him just as long to get back. And he doesn't want to make the trip. He's getting anxious to unveil his magnum opus."
"So, he's performing a convergence." He laced his fingers together. "Combining both Earth and Mobius. The two will become one as if they were connected in the first place. Thus, bringing Angel Island here. With that, he will fuse you with the Chaos Emeralds so you go all nice and pretty gold, and take control of your body. To make sure you don't fall to fatigue, he will have Sonic fuse with the Master Emerald and act as your battery. Sonic's power is unlimited. Combine the two and you have a war machine that doesn't need breaks, food, sleep, or a soul."
His nose was practically pressing against the field keeping me hostage. My glare remained on my brow.
"I just told you his whole plan." He leaned back with his arms wide. "Will that work?"
"How does he know his plan will work?" I questioned.
"Because you were literally made for the job. The blue carpet stain just happened to be a bonus once he found out about him. It means domination faster if you never wear out or break. What do you say, the enemy of my enemy?" He reached out a hand to me.
I gave him a look.
"Right." His hand closed as his fingers pressed the buttons on his gloves to activate something.
An explosion went off to the side, and I flinched and looked over to what happened. A larger robot painted in black and red walked through the hall and stopped before us.
"Consider this a gift. To the start of a beautiful, but temporary, friendship." Robotnik said.
The robot raised his hand and broke through the barrier, freeing me. I jumped out of the cell. And looked over the robot.
"Shadow," Robotnik pointed to the bot. "Meet E-123. You're the Alpha, he's the Omega."
The explosion caused Black Arms forces to start to swarm the hall and run towards us. We looked over at them. And both the robot and I took a fighting stance.
"I call dibs." The robot stated.
"Oh yeah," Robotnik added. "The only personality I could sadly program was competitive. So, have fun with that."
A small smile came to my face and I dashed forward. With the help of E-123. We made our way through the Black Arms forces. Robotnik followed behind us at a steady pace. As we made our way to the exit of the cells, I caught sight of something that made me stop in my tracks.
I ran over to a cell. "Esme!"
Her head shot up. "Shadow!"
We met in the middle with the energy field separating us. "Are you okay?"
"Physically, yes." She placed a hand on the field.
"Omega!" I called out and E-123 walked over to me. "Can you get her out?"
"Affirmative."
I looked back at her. "Stand back."
She backed up and Omega raised his arm and broke the barrier like he did for me. She covered herself as sparks and splinters of metal went everywhere. Once the sound died, she walked over and carefully got out of the cell with my help.
"We are getting you out of here as soon as possible." I explained to her. "Until then, stay close, and stay behind me. I'll make sure you're safe."
"I call dibs." Omega repeated.
"You'll protect her?" I asked the robot.
"He doesn't really know much else to say, Shadow." Robotnik cut in. "Don't expect a legitimate answer."
The robot pointed to me. "Alpha." He pointed to himself, "Omega." He then pointed to Esme. "Protect."
The Doctor had a small look of surprise. "That's new."
"No time to figure things out, we have to go find the others." I grabbed Esme's hand and began to run.
"I knew you chinchillas had a plan to destroy this whole thing!" Robotnik said with glee as he ran after us.
