Hell's Angel
This will be the last chapter before Izuku finally finds himself back into the world of the living, with that while I'm not sure that I'm going to incorporate any of the story of Hazbin Hotel I will be including a B plot storyline involving characters in hell.
This is going to be the first story where it's an accidental harem rather than the psudo harem that I have done in the past. It won't be massive and Izuku isn't really going to understand at first. Just for fun you all can take a guess who the first girl will be and anyone who can guess correctly will get a shout out in the next chapter. Just a fun little call back to my Teen Titan days.
While I'll take critisism, kid gloves please.
And as always, Please. Read Review and Enjoy!
Chapter 3; So it begins
A small laugh escaped Gabriel as he turned to face the man behind him. "Luci, it's so good to see you." And he ment it too. Of all the angels in heaven, both before and after the fall, Lucifer and Gabriel got along the best. Gabriel was a calming voice for Lucifer and Lucifer was a driving force for Gabriel.
Luci was the oldest of the original seven, and the shortest but that was rarely brought up due to his... sensitivity on the matter. After his fall he had paled and like many others who fell to Hell take a ashen skin tone, though his was more like porcelain. The one thing that had never really changed was his mischievous and prideful grin. "I like the suit, white always was a good color on you." Gabe tried to joke.
"Dad?" Charlie asked in surprise.
Said grin dissappeared in an instant and was replaced by a nervious, very shaken smile, "O-Oh... Hey Biiitch..."
"Dad," Charlie repeated, irritation now in her voice, "What are you doing here? Not that I'm not happy to see you but it's really not like you to just suddenly pop in out of no where like this."
Luci had never really liked lying or beating around the bush, especially with his daughter, so he desided to just rip the band aid off quickly. "To tell you the truth Sweetie I felt a huge sudden burst of divine energy completly out of no where and suddenly saw all the exterminators retreating, I got a little curious and followed the trail. You can imagin my surprise to find my favorate brother, my daughter and what looks like an angel all in the same place." Luci was going to bring something else up but a silent elbow from Gabe held him back.
"Why don't you and your two little friends go across the yard for a moment," Gabe said in a gentle voice, "Your father and I have something of grave importance to discuss, and by the look in the little miss' eye, so do you," Vaggie was suddenly very scared and was looking around for an escape only to lock eyes with Izuku who she could tell had somehow put the pieces together and was trying to be supportive.
"But..." Charlie said weakly.
"Please sweetie," Luci said as he put his hand on her shoulder, "It will only be a moment and it's very important. From the look of things on both ends. Piece of advice, go in open minded."
Charlie knew when she was beated and walked over to the other two and continued to the other end of the yard. She was worried about the horrified look that Vaggie was making anyway.
"Alright, spill. Why are you here?" Luci said as he side eyed his brother, "Not that I'm not happy to see you but you never come to Hell. Damned be you bearly leave that office of yours unless it was world ending."
"I felt something that hasn't existed in a very long time." Gabe said. "I thought it was the Penence Stare."
Luci's eyes widened, "Oh shit, for real? Damn I didn't think it would ever... wait. You thought it was the Stare?"
Gabe nodded as he crossed his arms, his gaze shifting to the boy that was currnetly playing referee to the fight going on. "The boy, Izuku Midoriya, what he has is far stronger than the penence. While he wants justice he also wants rehabilitation. He seems to able to grow stronger from the darknessin someone's heart, as though it was so he could have the strength to pull them up. It was like looking into mother and father's eyes."
Luci flinched at that, he remembered thoughs looks. "Are you sure it's a good idea to let a sinner have that kind of power?" he asked. Rather than actually respond Gabriel looked into Lucifer's eyes, allowing the purple glow to spreap to him and sharing what Gabe had seen earlier.
Every one of the original seven had been given a special gift and a domain. Said domains were widely known to all save for Gabriel, the only one's who really knew were his parents and Luci himself. Gabriel, the youngest of the Archangels and keeper of the holy horn, had the domain of knowledge and could freely give or even take it from others. It had been one of the main reasons that Lucifer had hasked for his help in the first place.
The glow faded as a slightly demonic growl made it's presense known from Luci. "I almost can't wait for that blonde douche to make it down here. Might just hold him out for the exterminators myself." Lucifer said.
"He is just a child, and one that has been manipulated at that," Gabe weakly defended. Not because he thought well of Bakugo but because he was young and could still change.
"I've seen far younger here for far less." Lucifer snapped back before turning towards the boy, who was now holding a crying Charlie and Vaggie while the kept arguing. "The boy, Izuku, He doesn't belong here. Not with that soul and especially with those powers. What happened?"
Gabe crossed his arms as he said, "I don't know. Things have been crazy in Heaven lately with Father being gone, almost all of the power has shifted to the Cherumim and Seraphim, and cracks are happening all over the place."
"The Old Man is still gone?" Luci asked in surprise, "Is he still looking for-"
"Yes!" Gabe cut him off, his anger showing as rubbed his temples, "He's also taken the other four to help him find it! He's omniscient, it shouldn't have taken two CENTURIES!"
"I still don't understand why he just doesn't just pulled it back to himself. He has the freaking power to do it."Luci groaned, just as annoyed as his brother.
"It isn't that easy," Gabe sighed, "After the crusades, he vowed to never directly interact with his followers. Evolve them yes, silently guide them of course, but not actually lead them. When he finally finds it he'll have to also find someone to take it back, which just might be even harder."
"What I don't understand his how this happened in the first place. How do you accidently put that in the hands of mortals?" When Gabe didn't answer Luci turned to him and found him glaring down, "Gabe, it was just an accident right?"
"You weren't the only one who was unhappy with some of the ways heaven was ran," Gabriel said, his voice devoid of it's usual humor, "Most of the angels that sided with you fell with you, but not all of them. I have been keeping an eye on them but I can't be everywhere and I haven't even ferreted all of them out."
Lucifer narrowed his eyes, even he disliked the idea of another heavenly civil war. Looking for something to change the subject he noticed something and his mouth dropped open. "No fucking way! How in the name of all that is holy and not does the Kid have Azrael's Blade! I thought y'all melted that freaking thing down to make your spears!"
"We did," Gabe said as he eyed the weapon that hung on the boy's side, "I don't understand it either but by the looks of it the moment a spear was in his possession it morphed itself into Azrael's blade. Almost like she chose him to wield it."
"First the Old Man and now Azrael, what is he going to be your chamion next?" Luci asked only to be once again treated to silence, "Oh come on!"
"I don't know if Father necessarily chose the boy but he does have divine powers now, I also really need someone on earth who can act in our favor. Izuku certainlly has a soul pure enough to trust with this task. Besides, as selfish as it is I kinda want to see him live his dream, you know?"
"Can't really say that I dissagree," Luci said as he watched the boy play some kind of leaf flute while his daughter and her girlfriend were singing the last of their frustrations out. "Charlie seems to like him so that already gives him some brownie points with me. You think you can get away with this up there?"
"I am currently the only Archangel and the left hand of God, I doubt there very much opposition, and if I'm lucky this might scare a few of the little rats running in the baffles." Gabriel said, his voice hard and the wind around him stiring up.
"Haven't seen you this riled up in a while, this freaking you out that much?" Luci asked.
"I don't like the idea that anyone could get one over on Father, I don't like the implications or the possible cconseqences." Gabriel said in a light snarl, before it faded into a gentle smile as he watched Charlie and the other girl hug and kiss, much to Izuku's blushing embarassment. "I see a lot of you in her Luci, She may have Lilithe's voice but she has the heart you used to before you fell."
"That's honestly what's worrying me," Luci said as he looked down, "I don't want her to know just how much I fucked up... or how twisted heaven and hell really are."
"You can't protect her forever," Gabe said as he patted him on the shoulder and waved the the small group over, "You can only guide her and be the father that you wished Father had been for you. Though I still argue that was your fault. Sin of Pride indeed."
"Eat me."
Seeing the small group walk up Gabriel asked, "Did you get everythong settled?"
Charlie rubbed her arm lightly in discomfort as shs said, "Most of it... There are more than a few things we still need to talk out all the way but... I mean it's not like I don't understand..."
"What exactly happened?" Lucifer asked as he looked her over, his own gift acting up with a soft red glow and letting him see just what it was that she truely wanted. While Gabriel could see memories Lucifer could see desires, the deepest sometimes even unknown wants and needs in the hearts of anyone who had enough intelligence to understand the concept of it. It was a useful ability to have if you wanted to see if someone was lying to you.
"While I was still an exterminator I was always in the top ranks, the fastest and the strongest with the best numbers." Vaggie began, "As much as it sickens me now I did have pride at the time then, so much so that I never noticed one of my trainees' hatrid of me I guess. A few years ago during a purge I had cornered a demon child but I just couldn't... I let him go and the exterminator behind me stabbed me in the eye and cut my wings off. Her and Adam both, they just left me in hell..."
"Her and Adam?" Gabriel asked with narrowed eyes while stroking his chin. Oh he did not like this at all.
"I don't know if he was there when she did it but I watched them leave together," Vaggie growled as she held her hand over her missing eye, "He knew what she did but did nothing about it. I think they knew that inspite of doing so, I never liked Extermination day."
Wind picked up suddenly as Lucifer jumped to his daughter and wrapped his wings around her with Izuku taking a que from him and doing the same for Vaggie. Just in time to as just then clumps of dirt, rocks and even some near by trees suddenly found themselves in a cyclone of crushing winds that ground all into dust and gravel.
Is... that... so?...
Lucifer and Izuku covered both girls eyes so they couldn't see the mess of eyes, feathers, and chattering teeth that was causing Izuku to bleed lightly from they eyes before he could finally pull his eyes away. There were somethings that humans, even with divine powers, simply weren't meant to see or comprehend. It was his pure will and the knowledge of the girls needing him that kept him from running screaming into the night.
Gabriel!... You need to calm down!
Izuku didn't look, he couldn't. Izuku was 100% sure he wouldn't survive two Archangels in full release. The fact that he could feel the flames licking at him weren't helping.
The wind and fire died down after a few minutes. Two obviously shell shocked women hugged each other as Izuku found the nearest crater to vomit in and pull at his hair as his mind fought off the image he had seen. Lucifer comforted his daughter and her girlfriend while Gabriel walked over to Izuku and rubbed his back
"I'm so sorry Izuku!" Gabriel said as he forced Izuku to look into his eyes so he could pull his true form out of his mind, "I lost control of my emotions and you had to pay for it"
With the image gone Izuku could feel his mind begin to function again, thoughts once again being just thoughts rather than that of screaming voices begging to be set free. "It... It wasn't all your fault..." Izuku said as he grit his teeth and fought back another gag, "I don't know who this Adam guy is but for you to have this reaction-"
What ever he was about to say was cut off by his body shutting down, the adrenaline of so much happening in the span of roughly two hours having cought up with him and caused him to faint.
"We should probably get Greenbean here inside," Lucifer said with a chortle as Vaggie threw him over her shoulder, "Little guy's has a had a long first day."
"Izuku's like an inch and a half taller than him," Gabriel whispered into Charlie's ear in a playful tone. He was imbedded in a tree across the yard ten second later.
*Several hours later*
Izuku's eyes opened slowly as the world finally stopped spinning. "Feeling any better Kiddo?" Came a voice next to him. Turning his head he found Lucifer and Gabriel, the latter of whom still had tree debree stuck in his hair.
"I'm fine. Just, so much happened and it's a lot to take in." Izuku said as he fought to sit up, only t be pushed back down by Charlie while Vaggie pulled the sheet back over him.
"I get that," Gabriel said as he ran his hand threw his hair to try and get more bark out, "and unfortunately there is more to come. Though I do think you're going to like it" Seeing the boy perk up slightly he said, "It's going to take some time and a lot of doing on my part but I have a proposition for you.
"As a member of the heavenly court and one of the original seven Archangels I have quite a few perks and allowances, unfortunately a major draw back is that I can't get directly involved with the daily lives of mortals. Somewhere in the world right now is a being that has somehow stolen a piece of divinity and Father has to have it back. If you'd be willing to help us retrive it, I will allow you to return to life and live as you should have."
"You can bring me back to life?" Izuku said in awe as he sat up again. His mind raced for a moment as he pondered what this could mean, only for his thoughts to catch up with his reality. "I don't know what I could do to help you. I was powerless when alive and even if you did bring me back I doubt I'd even be able to survive on my own."
"I wouldn't worry about that Izuku," Gabriel said as he lightly pulled on one of his wings as well as holding up the sword that was resting on the bedside, ignoring the burning his hand felt as he did so, "Sense coming here you have been far from powerless. You hold a piece of divinity and that won't just go away."
"And I wouldn't worry too much about taking care of yourself," Lucifer said as a red glow made itself known in his eyes again, "I have a few conections and can call in a few favors. You protected my daughter so I don't mind giving you a freebie. Kinda ironic that the devil himself is going to help give rise to a divine hero."
Izuku's eye lite up in delight. A hero. He was going to be a Hero! Soon another thought crossed his mind. "This all feels too good to be true but... What about Charlie-San?" he asked before looking at said woman who was shocked that he was thinking about her, "I promised to help her with her hotel. It's a really good idea and she's going to need all the help she can get." Happy tears filled Charlie's eyes as she dove for the boy and was just as quickly caught and held in a full nelson by her girlfriend Vaggie. He was hurt enough as it was and Charlie could crack bones if she wasn't careful.
Gabriel was quite for a moment as he gave it some thought, Lucifer obviously had his own thoughts on the matter but kept it to himself for the moment. "I will admit that it merits some thought." he said after a long silence, "I will bring it up and do what I can. I'll also be stopping in from time to time to check in."
Turning to the now visibley excited boy Gabriel said, "This is going to take time. The bureaucracy of heaven is often slowed down by the knowledge that they have all the time in existance to get something done. Even with me pushing it could take months to get anything of value done. In that time I want you to practice your powers and train your body. I know it will be hard but find someone who can train you to fight."
Light enveloped Gabriel as he began to fade away, "This will be a hard task. At times it will even feel like a sisyphean struggle, but I know that you can do it."
Once the Archangel was gone Lucifer couldn't help a playful scoff, "Always the show off." He laughed before bringing Charlie into a hug and, while still fighting off his ever preasnt depression. "While the kiddo is resting why don't you and Maggie-"
"Vaggie."
"-Vaggie, show me around and you can tell me all your plans!" Izuku couldn't help the soft laugh at the fading voice of the excitable man. Laying back down he closed his eyes again and let himself once again feel hope in his future. With said hope came his mind working out who it was, what they had and most importantly how he could help Gabriel with his task and Charlie with her hotel.
*Elsewhere*
A soft humming was heard as a small gust of wind condensed into the shining form of Gabriel. The High Serapham, ironically named Sera, was relived to his his return. As a loyal servant to the holy family Sera had known of the close ties Gabriel had with his fallen brother and wasn't sure why he had ventured into Hell and the fact that the exterminators returned shortly after with one who looked as though she was about to have a mental break down wasn't helping her frayed nerves.
"Lord Gabriel," She started with a smile as she walked up him, "It is good to see you've returned safely." Sera had noticed the hard look on his face, a look she had seen from every one of the Archangels at one point or another save for him.
"Where is Adam?" It was a comand made to look like a question.
Sera instantly knew something apocoliptic was either going to happen or more worring already had. Taking a quick breath, noticing that it was becoming hard to do so in Gabriel's presense, she said, "He is in the infirmary with Lute and Bella, the new recrute that was injured today."
Gabriel was already in motion at a quick pace as he asked, "Are they with her alone?" Sera was already struggling to keep pace so all she could do was nod her head. Unfortunately that only quickened his pace which made her have to actively fly at almost full speed just to keep up.
Lute stood guard over the door as her commander Adam, interrigated the 'Exterminator'. She was already pissed that any of her soldiers had been hurt but that that sniveling weakling had caused the purge to end early and wasn't even going to be punished for it had her almost foaming at the mouth in rage. So much so that when she heard the comand to open the door she almost lashed out. Almost.
She turned her head with her shout dying in her throat as she saw Gabriel glaring at her, a look of absolute disstain in his now multiple eyes. "I said open the door. Now little Exterminator." Inspite of the terror running threw her Lute remembered the order and was about to jiggle the handle in the code Adam had told her, only for the man to ruin it himself.
"YOU WILL ANSWER ME DAMNIT!" was heard accompanied by a slap.
Lule took a single step forward to try and slow Gabriel down, this action was rewarded by her being thrown threw three walls followed shortly by the door that she was guarding. Adam turned just in time to have his neck grabbed by the much larger man and lifted into the air. Adam got out a pathetic squeking gasp before he too was thrown threw some walls, five this time. "Watch over the girl," was all he said as he followed the trail of destruction.
"Adam Kushim, you dare to defy the orders of the Archangel Gabriel!" Gabriel said as he made a spectical of this, an example needed to be made and who better that this stooge.
"U-um..." Adam said as he pulled himself from the rubble, already seeing many of his followers and the higher ups of Heaven coming out to see what was going on, "I-It's actually Adam Dick-" A back hand found the man back onto the floor.
"I know what your true name is Adam and I refuse to call you by that crass title, I am not Sera and I will not humor your fragle ego. I also won't let you change the subject. You were told to bring the girl back and to see no harm done to her, yet I walk in just in time to see you slap her!" The ground around Gabriel actually quaked with every word he spoke and more than a few noticed that the walls weren't repairing themselves.
"She wasn't coperating..." Adam finally said, as he fought to get air back into his lungs. He was thinking on his feet because he really couldn't look weak in front of so many Angels, his rep was on the line! "I needed a report, something that could tell me what was going on down there sense she was the first causalty we've ever had!"
"Was she the first?" Gabriel asked and a chill went down his spine. "For just a moment let's ignore the fact that poor Bella is currently in the Infirmary and that you were with me when she managed to give me a report of what happened," Adam flinched at that having forgotten that Gabriel was there then, "and let's talk about Vaggie."
The moment the name left his mouth Adam lost what ever bravado he had. "Um... Vaggie?..." This time he was thrown threw a pillar.
"Yes, the Exterminater Vaggie. The one you left in Hell!" Shouts erupted threwout the halls of the central court, a building that Adam was just now realizing that he had been thrown into. Before he could do or say anything else, mostly seeing if he could make a run for it. The sound of gusting winds and a gravelly shout was heard as Lute was thrown into him, pinning both to the floor.
"I'm sure this is a surprise to you but she survived," Gabriel said with a glare, "thrived even. I've had the pleasure of meeting the young lady and she has had quite a few things to say about you two. Like how Lute, your new second in command, slashed her eye and tore off her WINGS!"
"She was a TRAITOR!" Lute growled out, "I cought her letting demon filth go when she should be killing them!"
Several in the room looked like they were going to agree with her until Gabriel interjected. "It was a child." The room fell silent and several hateful glares found their way to the woman. "A child who was only six when he died and who's sin was stealing money and food for his family," his glare turned to some of the cherebim leaders, who could only look away, "That was the sin that condemed him when he died of starvation."
Murmurings were heard all around and Gabriel could feel a pair of silver eyes boring down on him. "I have much to discuss with the high counsel but I will tell you this now. Extermination day was ended early today and will be cancled next year. In that time I will be launching a full investigation on how we lost an angel and no one knew."
Turning his attention to the two still downed angels, he continued, "You will not be spared from this either. I don't care if you're favored by Father or not, you are not above our laws. You and Lute are formally under home arrest until a such a time where you can be fairly tried." His attention turned to some warrior angels, a less powerful Archangel without the title, "Take them," With his piece said Gabriel left.
Now that the drama had come to a close the hall emptied as the walls were finally able to begin repairing themselves. Unknown to anyone, soft white feathers mixed in with the solidifying structures. Eyes and ears for Gabriel where no one could find them. It was a cheap tactic in his book but a nessisary one. He had already felt one rat make their pressence known and they were closer than he had liked.
