~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 29: The Great Moonlit Hunting Ground ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*The dimly lit jungle hummed in the moonlit corridors. There was a swaying gentle breeze at night, as the thickets rustled across the country side. Giant ancient ferns, plants and deposits of soil littered the landscape in a place that was found beyond time and space. Here, on a giant winding hallway of stairs filled with a set of Caverns….mankind made first steps towards an attempt to control civilization.*
/And it was here, in this vacant hollow of Site C….Where they would move forward full steam ahead with their Jeeps and machines to control their specimens, especially Specimen DF itself. Biosyn had been here for many decades, yet an older tribe who was nearly older than time itself was here long before that…..and they had started much like the threads of fate…a parting of ways to push the old systems out. The now saw the machines and devices of Biosyn were no friend of their Elders, or their clans in most ways….but neither were other human civilizations. And they made a decree, on behalf of their ancient scrolls…that if it were possible, they would take their Island back away from society's prying eyes. To fulfill an ancient covenant, a prophecy….which was even much older than the Island itself. And it was here that our adventurers, including Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, Ellie Sattler, Sara Harding, Robert Muldoon, Billy, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing….came to face to face with quite an amazing question. The idea that time itself is really not fixed or structured, and in fact runs outside of our control. This idea that civilizations separated by more than sixty five million years, were often separated for a reason. An ideal that many humans, particularly Biosyn were not highly fond of. Yet it was nonetheless true.*
/As the thick misty air settled into the trees. Nelle Sorkin's Jeep sped along the dusty mountain road. Deeper into the hills the soldiers traveled, led by a pack of ferocious Indo-Raptors and the highly feral Megaraptors….realizing the ticket to freedom and their road to paradise lied inside the massive creature which could in some ways speak a form of English. This Yeti style abomination was nearly the worst of Biosyn's experiments, though not as hideous as some of their Cryptids. It had the ability to vanish and kill most of the guards and humans who lived on this Island…and it had proven its abilities to this end. Yet in spite of all this, something persisted in the humans….thinking that perhaps with the neural interface they could somehow finally control this massive beast. Though as always, they were proven partly correct…..this would not go according to plan as they intended. Forces of nature are always unpredictable, in spite the many different constraints we may put them under. And that, that is the essence of the real harbinger of this Island's future…..the essence of the Chaos Theory effect.*
/Meanwhile, in the Eastern Tundra there was a full on herd of dangerous predators on the hunt for Dire Wolves and Megaloceros. Something flat, long and ravenous was stalking the wooded coves nearby…slashing at the surrounding trees as the silent sounds of animal death stalked the partition. A low, audible growl could be heard in the distance of a massive creature….yet you couldn't see it within the surrounding Ice Shelf at all. It appeared to disappear from view, yet it was obvious something was on the hunt for several nearby creatures. Patches of thick, grey-black fur dotted the landscape….and in the distance of one's proverbial vision someone could catch sight of dark red splotches in the White laden snow at night. Something truly horrific was definitely on the prowl, yet Jenkins and others from the main salvage crew were absolutely baffled as to what it was. There was large, three-prong claw marks in the newly fallen snow and rocks that obviously belonged to something…and it was hunting them for sport./
Miles: "What do you think the tracks for that thing are, Jenkins…."
Jenkins: "Beats the hell out of me. Quiet….don't interrupt them whatever you do.." ((He points towards the large tribe of Dire Wolves beginning to fan out and take over the inland caves twenty miles from there. There was an entire ecosystem of the creatures it seems, beginning to crop up all over the hills. It was also obvious these predators were hunting for something by day or dusk, other species probably but also humans most of all….and the soldiers entering that area just happened to be the part of the menu.))
/The air is cut short by the roars of a nearby predator. The animal's low audible growls are unmistakable, yet it is unclear and uncertain exactly what species it is. What is known is the hideous creature's snout is as long as a giant Dire Wolf, and its claws are clearly sharper than any titanium tempered steel blade. It has large dark ears, and it doesn't exactly look like a Werewolf beast at all. It appears to be much more menacing, with razor sharp claws on each toe and a strange silhouette of red-fire skin across the majority of the specimen's exterior. In ancient Maylasia, they had a lot of various names for these beasts. Some of them called it Lycanthrope Demonis, which is a type an extinct type of Wolf creature which was once thought to be the topic of folklore. Now however, as they searched the arid tundra for any visible signs of the creature's whereabouts….they began to get quite a shock indeed. This animal wasn't like any type of typical hound they had ever encountered in Kenya or Denmark. The creature was clearly bi-pedal, taller than a Polar Bear and the sounds it made truly came off like hellfire. Its long mane could be seen glistening in the moon lit rotunda of trees, making it appear that the large creature had been on the hunt all night long. It held a double spear in one hand and a cloak in the other, with red blood seeming to drip from its lips in large swirls.*
/This was definitely a creature belonging to the darkness, yet it was highly unclear by all accounts from the current soldiers including Jenkins; what the actual genetics of the animal was. Perhaps it was a type of Wolf beast, yet it was impossible to tell in the chilly air as it looked identical to a Lycanthrope beast. Its huge hands were hung in abject horror, as it stood in the snowy tundra staring at the fields. There was no other alternative than to study this development and determine the nature of this beast. Traces of blood and residue balancing lightly against the massive icy rock shelf of roads. There was clear signs of a struggle and some kind of terrible claw ripping through their prey's flesh, but there was no real sign of the creature at all. Instead there was a low, audible growl that began to get much fiercer the further you ran into the snowy lagoon of fog and stood there waiting for the next drop to land. The blood trailed off towards the eastern direction, yet in spite of this it was near impossible to identify.*
Jenkins: "What do you think that thing is?"
Cornell: "I don't know, it seems like some kind of massive Hound type beast….there's no tags on it."
Miles: "How the hell could that be, Jenkins!? We checked this whole route top to bottom, I'm positive (Inhales.) that I even checked the right and left gates of that trail more than ten times….There's nothing living out here this far out…"
Jenkins: "I'm telling you, you are dead wrong about this. The thing is standing right out there in the storm…..did you hear that sound from earlier!?"
Cornell: "Whatever you do, don't look in their direction….I have never seen the lands get so chilled with Cold and snow before…"
/Just then, they hear the low audible growl turn into a roar. In the glistened moonlight they can see the creature stand straight up, even though there's not a clue anywhere of how it arrived there. The blood runs across in a trail throughout the hall and moving into the Sycamore trees past the first turn that leads to the set of underground wells. That sound they heard before turns into a fierce and shrill cry, and Jenkins can't believe his eyes as the beast instantly stands up on its hind legs and darts its eyes.*
Lycanthrope Gigantis Reaver Hellhound: "GRAAAAAAWWRR! ROOOOOOAR!" ((Suddenly, they see its terrifying jaws firmly latched around the Irish Green Megaloceros, to the point where the creature's round head had fallen entirely on the embankment of snow in front. It had torn the creature to pieces, leaving small chunks of flesh and bone littered across the countryside. Jenkins shot back in sudden alarm, realizing he needed to inform the men immediately. Yet as he came to the relay station to radio into his command station, suddenly the radio went dead just as it reached Soyona's main channel. He couldn't get through at all…..Where was the creature now? Jenkins began to panic as he moved to ponder this question very hard….it had already disappeared from view. No one had caught sight of it, including Miles for at least five minutes. The Jeep was on its way into the cave with Dr. Wu, could he get a signal out to them in time? Did they even know about this?)
Jenkins: "Miles, where the hell are you!? I told you to go check the perimeter….start walking around from East to West until we can get a track on….."
/Right at that moment, things took a turn for the worse. Jenkins felt the large, sharp mandibles gnawing through the artery for his right forearm. The Lycanthrope creature's heavy breathing could be heard nearby through the thicket of reeds, yet he saw literally nothing there. It had vanished…and now the beast had sliced off and ate his entire arm. The tendons where the stump of his arm had once rested were now gone and severed, and he felt a very sharp noteworthy pain stab straight through his back and tear off large sections of his neck at the nape. Never had Jenkins been in such pain in his life, when he realized he wasn't dead…..at least not yet. What was worse still, his arm was now gone and he had been bleeding all over the hills from the massive hole in his right shoulder….yet nobody was watching. Sorkin had already gone on ahead and assumed they would meet them at the rendezvous point around five kilometers from the Allosaurus cave. It had all been over in an instant, and Jenkins now stretched his hand out straight across to hold the blood from gushing out of his wound. Just then, he saw the menacing green eyes making luminescent shadows in the moonlight…..that dam beast was here.*
Jenkins: "Miles, where the hell are you….Get over here now, stop leaving me in this jungle!" (He screamed with an intensity rarely seen.)
/A series of foot steps quickly shuffle into the clearing, Miles and Cornell had brought another Biosyn soldier with them. They caught a brief sight of a large, hideous patch of fur glistening in the moon lit tundra just as Miles started to speak again with less fortunate news.*
Miles: "Sir, that thing you ran into is no type of normal wolf creature….It's a beast from hell, known in legends as the Lycanthrope Hellhound Zever species, it comes literally right out of the Mayan shrines. Stand back from there." ((He fires more than 200 concussion rounds into the clearing, striking the hideous Hellhound as they watch as the beast tears a Sabertooth Tiger to pieces…..until slowly all they see that is left in the snow is small, barely noticeable patches of blood where the blood trails off…..one piece after another piece all the way around the outside of the lake. Miles is visibly shaken, knowing that things are not going well on this hunting trip and there is also a large archway near there that fell over.))
Jenkins: "Ahh, my dam arm was gnawed off! Kill that beast, it's not supposed to be on any lists at all…."
Cornell: "That's because it isn't on any known list…..that I've ever seen, which makes me think it comes from the mainframe PC back at headquarters. Stay out of here, that's an order." ((Cornell then begins to shoot fifty eight bola snare blasts into the monster, who rears back and leaps straight backwards.))
Lycanthrope Gigantis Reaver Hellhound: "GRAAAAAAAAWWR! RRAAAAAAAAAAWWR!" ((The creature just then wraps itself around the tree near the entrance to the fence's perimeter, and begins making a loud hideous noise in the vines. It stretches its massive claws out in each direction, slashing at the entire group of hunters but only managing to wound Cornell who goes dashing behind the nearby Biosyn transport van. He fires more than two hundred shots of liquid acid into the creature's face, which partly wounds the beast as it stumbles back….Jenkins had lost sight of the monster's features. Cornell then begins to blast it from the terrace with a Bazooka loaded with napalm, yet the ten key shots meant to kill it all miss….starting a giant inferno in the set of five trees. Then out of nowhere, Cornell feels something large, cold and icy stab through his left shoulder….tearing part of his whole chest out.))
Cornell: "AhhhhhhgGHhhHhh get out, run-" ((It cuts him off, right as Cornell's stomach is suddenly gouged out. He was being devoured two chunks at a time, as the massive Lycanthrope Hellhound Reaver had begun pulling apart his head nearly on screen as ragged flesh fell straight out the top….including part of his tongue it was alleged. Cornell was being eaten alive, and it was too late for him Miles realized as now his own leg was being swallowed as well. Then, a hideous wave of burning hot fire flew out of the Lycanthrope Hellhound's massive jaws, as it disappears for a moment and the monster's massive teeth reappear inside the now deceased body of Cornell who had been torn to pieces. Ragged pieces of nothing but small blood stains riddle the small valleys here near the hole, where just moments ago Miles had seen his friend perfectly fine and still alive. Now though, not even a single pound of flesh remained.)
Lycanthrope Gigantis Reaver Hellhound: "GRAAOOOOAR! ROOOOOOOOAAAR!" ((The hideous beast shot a giant cascade of Fire which literally burned all the surrounding nearby bushes, nearly slicing off the Hunter's head in the process. The extreme amount of smoke, fire and ash sent chills down the spine of Miles who immediately backed up, as he saw the other Saber Tooth tiger being torn to pieces. Large chunks of flesh were flying all over, and a sickening Mayan chant could be heard….seemingly a whisper at first, only getting louder as the form approached closer into the clearing.))
Miles: "Forget it, Jenkins….Look we got to get the hell out of here right now." ((He pulled out his tripod launcher, took a large picture in the dark near where Cornell had once stood and then began to fire a large set of concussion grenades into the swamp and river lands near there. There was a hideous, horrible odor that had covered the air making it feel like a certain death trap to keep staying there.))
/Meanwhile, over at the back of the ridge. Dr. Sorkin's medical truck thundered down the long stretch of vacant road. They saw the tops of the trees sway in the wind and disappear, as the trail began vanishing from view. Joe Rossiter steamed down the long dusty path directly behind them, as he glared at the cut-up road that shifted off in two directions. The sun bounced off the make-shift diorama of primitive prehistoric times, as the massive Allosaurus roared in abject anger at the intrusion. It was staring directly at Dr. Sorkin now, as another creature out of their line of sight started to rumble its way into the Cave. It was absolutely terrifying, ran at top speed on all four legs and had a strange frill around the outside of its craven shaped head. The Dinosaur like Cryptid began to rear back on its hind legs, and stood nearly straight up staring at the cage of Specimen DS as Sorkin looked on in horror and fear. Henry Wu got out of the jeep on the passenger side and slowly made his way up the canyon, checking to see if he could catch any glimpse of the Spinosaurus or approaching Megaraptor creatures nearby.*
Dr. Nelle Sorkin: "Now, Rossiter….Bring the primitive Mayan man out of the back of the van. He must have the answer we need to be able to record this song, and communicate with the main predator…"
Eli Mills: "Do you truly think this will work, that this creature is going to listen to it?"
/The Mayan Primitive man came out and started uttering an unintelligible dialog to the Specimen while it glared with ferocity from its cave.*
Primitive Mayan Man Sedora: "Guni, zar, eliovios….Monasta co ro de so lunv origaoso….Setano…." (Eat)
Joe Rossiter: "Creature, get moving at the sound of my voice. (He shouts in the large audio recorder dish.) Take that monster down and bring the head of that Allosaurus to me if you have to, I prefer it be sedated first before a hard kill…."
Soyona Santos: "I don't think Dodgson or anyone cares about that part…(She smirks.) All that matters is it obeys commands, if that means we need to control its extra-sensory perception than so be it."
Henry Wu: "It doesn't matter….This is the time we have all since long prepared for. Get it moving out into the open jungle now, there is a very simple way which will allow Specimen DS to hunt these reptiles and put the Creatures into submission…. ((He turns up the dials on the Humming box))
Dodgson: "Brilliant….Absolutely brilliant. Specimen DS, incapacitate every last beast in this cave."
Henry Wu: "Specimen DS….Get up on my command, and the sound of Joe's voice. Hunt that dam Allosaurus, get that creature and sedate it so we can capture them now!"
Primitive Mayan man Sedora: "Guna, zar ziv ecksa….Muti rona soplastia….Enzo devios…Gurana…Make move, kill them….Wear their skin…..You own the Cave clan now….."
/Just then, the massive Yeti like monster raised in its hand a spear that was more than thirty feet long. It was jaded and cut at the end with two long stalks, sharper than any known sword or blade. It was crouched in a hunting position, about to strike out….it lunged and tossed the spear inside the Allosaurus which yelped back in horrible pain. Then it set its sights out on the other creature, but it couldn't see where that thing was. The massive, quadrupedal lizard had suddenly disappeared from view temporarily and Dodgson could smell it nearby….but nothing was in the snow. It was empty, lifeless and vacant. It was as if the monster had appeared and then suddenly vanished out of view.*
Dr. Nelle Sorkin: "Specimen DS….Where is that lizard creature? I want you to kill that thing, before we bring in the Mastodon." ((She motions for four Biosyn guards including Benson to start following behind with large taser guns, and grenade powered rifles aimed at the center of the Cave.))
/But it was too late, the monster had disappeared from view. The huge multi-faceted lizard was gone, and what was more the entire Cave began to shake. This towering Cave was built like a Shrine, with many tracks of a pair of Mayans in the center who were giving offerings to some kind of Sea creature on the wall. It was damp, empty and filled with a musty scent of blood and decaying bone….almost as if something horrifying had taken place to the entire tribe. It was clear there was splotches of blood dotting the inside and outer edge of the walls, such that Eli Mills was running to the opposite side of the Cave in utter shock and horror. There was a hideous monster like residue seeping from the walls that no one could explain, and Dodgson who could smell the beast just stared. He couldn't move, they were dumbfounded as to what this horrible entity was. That would end up being one of their first big mistakes.*
/There was also an ancient odor of Cro magnon men in the air that covered the tundra. The Cave floor was thick with their stench. A pair of Cro magnon era people near the back of the cave came running out towards the center, stirred on by the sudden eruption of furious sound. They tossed their javelins into the air and destroyed the tires on Sorkin's Jeep which sat at the front of the pack, before turning to run out towards the Cave's mouthy maw. But there was something terribly wrong now.*
Gorrin Allosaurus: "RAAAAAAAAAWWR! GRAAAAAWWR!" ((The giant Snake necked Allosaurus suddenly burst through the wall, slashing and swallowing the Cro magnon men whole along with the woman who was fleeing in terror. It had been awakened and startled by the noise, yet now it was so out of control it was bringing the entire Cave's ceiling down. It stared with fury at Benson's Jeep, and began rushing in to attack as it ripped the two Biosyn guards into pieces. It turned its intense stare on the Cave's entrance, and ripped the humans apart within its jaws as it tossed large chunks of the victims on top of the Biosyn Jeeps now parked in front. Then it directed its glare towards Specimen DS, and the rocking, incredibly fragile cage that was about to burst open. It hinted at something truly chilling as it began running forward and was about to feed again. The beast's massive jaws now trickling in blood.
/Suddenly, the large animal reptile creature appeared with only its massive foot visible in the door of the Cave. It was beginning to move in a circle with its huge talons, at least 11 inches long slicing out in fury at the prey nearby inside. Miles tossed a large tool down the spherical hole which appeared to have no bottom. He noticed an axe he threw in, came out with a different handle and glow. Perhaps there was something to that legend of a hole where one can Dig to china? he wondered aloud for a moment. Miles however knew that even if the mysterious "bottomless hole" did lead somewhere, there was no way to get back up so he stood back away from it. A large lighted green pulse of energy shot out of its depths. They in the cave including Miles knew they were prey now for this horrific creature, known as the Mogollan Lizira Decatus, whose face was red as fire and cold as venomous Ice vested in the new born snowfall. The Mogollan Decatus had a sheathe of red blood coming out of its snout, dripping with a hideous grin that made even the toughest Biosyn soldier shudder back in terror. Eli Mills stared at in abject confusion, as the horrific Mogollan monster began running with its hook-webbed feet towards the group in the cave at top speed. Benson ran in terror as its hideous bloody jaws came flying out of the Eastern terrace of the Cavern, as Rossiter watched nearby in total shock. It had come back to hunt them, and as the Mogollan's massive mouth shredded through the flesh of the man Benson as he reared back in terror at the sight of the monster's right bloody Clawed foot. It shook the Eastern side of the cavern with its thunderous teeth, as they stabbed straight through and started tearing apart the entire crevice. It was inside the cave with one eye glaring straight at Dr. Sorkin and Henry Wu, preparing to formulate a true sacrifice that will be parsed on the pyre in the center. Its huge forearms reach out in both directions, cracking the forms of the men in half nearly tearing Benson's legs in half. The jaws then fly out of nowhere from the west corner, consuming whole Jacob Benson inside its mouth as it swallows the man entirely whole. It rears back in absolute rage and shoots its snout on top of the head and arms until the whole of their body vanished from view.*
/There was no escape from the Mogollan creature, which began to press down hard on the corpse of Benson and another Biosyn soldier as it continued to swallow them whole. As chunks of lightly ragged flesh and bone flew out of the direction of the creature's heavy tongue, they could see the incredible abject terror of the beast stalking them now in the moonlight. It roared, ready to pounce its prey.*
Mogollan Lizira Decatus: "GRAAAAAAAAAAAAWWR! RAAAAAWWRR! ROOOOAR!" ((Its fury sounded over the outer awning of the cave, as its terrifying forearms and legs came to rest on the second Jeep tossing it through the wall with a tremendous bite force of more than fifteen Great White Sharks. It had awoken to a massive hunger, and it desired to feed immediately on Henry Wu's fellow soldiers including Eli Mills and Benson. The remains of Benson was hanging out of its jaws, as it turned its attention towards Mills and began to lick its outer lips. It was ready to kill them all, and just then Specimen DS broke out of his actual cage and attacked the massive Mogollan beast with a diamond staff sharpened with an arrowhead…hurdling it through two nearby caverns attempting to break its back to pieces. It was unbelievable, scary and violent the way people could have only seen in their nightmares or the ancient era of the Ice Age….and for the first time it made Henry Wu truly regret taking Rossiter's advice when he brought the shots for the Dinosaurs. This could end very badly, he heavily breathed in terror at the sight….yet the silence of the arid Cave made his choice unmistakable. There was no way to go back from this moment, or stop the Mogollan from nearly tearing the Yeti and other men to pieces as they began to attack nearly everyone.))
http/intheartofspace\./| com /wp-content/files/Red-Lycanthrope-Attack-Miles-Eli-Mills-Jenkins \./| jpg
/A very loud noise then shook the earth near their hunting trail. Something awful and truly chilling began to stalk its way around the outside of the path, sitting just near the tree stumps and the hole. There was something alive there for sure, probably the Lycanthrope….yet there was no signs of struggle. Miles fumbled for his flashlight in the dark, trying to catch sight of whatever had just made that terrifyingly high pitched sound. It was chilled in the air, feeling as though something evil and horrific was watching them through the trees. There was no way to hear through the rustling wind, yet in spite of that there was clearly something quite evil placing its eyes over everyone. But nothing appeared…..Just then a large shadow began to move quietly down the canyon pass, over the other side of the ridge as Dr. Sorkin's Jeep appeared in the horizon. There was nothing but the smell of bile and putrid flesh, as Miles came to the intersection in the trail and found the remains of the Saber Tiger, most of which were covered in a thick, terrifying black oozy substance. This was an absolute nightmare he realized. Is this what Rossiter wanted? Did he want them to keep experimenting with these beasts, and bring back the Allosaurus? Even at the cost of their lives? For the first time, Miles started pondering these unsettling questions as he grabbed his leg which had a massive deep bite wound. He loaded the supplies up into a giant 4 wheeler ATV and started making a mad dash to get out of there, dragging Jenkins limp body along the way out.*
Miles: "I'm going to kill that dam creature, I swear it…..I'm going to find it and kill it!"
Jenkins: "Miles, my arm is gone….don't….be too hasty….don't make sudden moves everyone regrets.."
/The chilling scene was now covered in giant, red trails of what appeared to be freshly pressed blood. Most of it belonged to the body parts of Jenkins, but the rest of the chunks definitely belonged to the Tiger which was ripped apart as well as the fingers and fleshy hands of Cornell. The terrible beast had devoured everything else, and started a massive fire to engulf the hills in total debris. This was clearly not going according to plan, and you could see evidence of this….where large cornered off blood trails trickled out into the snowy tundra wilderness…leading around in a circle back to the ravine. With that monster out there along with other issues, no one was safe. But as fate would have it, the team were about to discover news that would make things a whole lot worse as Specimen DS arrived at the Cave where the escaped animals were. Not only was the Allosaurus on the loose hunting something, they were about to get the worst news of the evening regarding the animals of that cave and the virus.
/Eli Mills ran from the Mogollan monster into the wilderness, holding his tattered arm in tow. He saw a flurry of glistening, burned fur on the horizon as he struggled to view the hidden meadow road. As he ran much faster, a faint growl appeared in the distance which began to get louder and louder the moment his rifle was drawn. The scratching sounds would then begin to serrate across the jungle floor, scraping into the snow like giant arabian daggers finding the soft tissue of exposed victims. As they continued, he let out a shrill scream realizing the beast had also torn apart part of his leg. He stared back through the thick fog, hoping not to catch sight of it….then he froze in total terror.
/Not long from where he had encountered resistance, there was a pale silhouette fastening itself into the contours of the moonlight. It stretched out with hideous claws that were like retractable daggers, piercing the night air's silence. It was cryptic and unnerving, he could sense the creature's breath on his back. He was scanning the countryside in this moment, looking for sight of his extra Jeep so he could move away from the road and floor it back to basecamp. But nothing appeared for him except more snow, and a sunken, terrible odor that got worse the closer he got. Then out of nowhere a large animal fell in the middle of the road along the path, and it blocked his peripheral vision from being able to see what was clearly displayed up ahead. Then Mills realizes he is trapped and running for his life, so he reaches for the Pick Axe that came from the rigging depot and saunters off into the chilly night. There was nothing else in sight but the lit up sidewalk…he struggled to breathe through the darkened shadow. Like a thunder clap, the beast's horrifying jaws came into view directly behind him creating a massive gash across his back…the Lycanthrope caught up.*
Lycanthrope Gigantis Reaver Hellhound: "GRAAAAAAAAWWR! RAAAAAAAWWR!" ((Its giant claws pierced through the ground like a knife through butter, puncturing everything within walking distance including the trunks of the nearby Fir trees. It was directly near the road, and now chasing Mills down the path towards where Miles and Jenkins were attempting to escape its wrath. The giant sword like claws slashed down instantly, as though catching prey in a bear trap and shut directly around Mills neck. His left shoulder bone was suddenly split apart, as though he felt the earth sinking below his feet. He reached down in a panic at his arms, which were now blood red…as he glanced over at the dead soldier twenty meters to his west field of vision. It was Cornell, and there was nothing left but blood stains…he was dead. For a moment, Mills stared down at his swollen arms and noticed they were bleeding all over. He then injected himself with the Biosyn cure capsule he had spoken to Jenkins about earlier. Suddenly, his forearms changed a shade of green and became darker….the trauma had transformed him. He was clearly now much more of a super soldier, as his eyes also lit up with the serum everyone at the science lab had warned about. Eli now felt different…he felt feral. And now Mills, who was more terrified in this moment than several before it….began to run as fast as he could towards the outrigger building. He saw the creature directly behind him, and given they had always used this building previous to create their climbing equipment and devices needed for navigating the Island's torrid Jungle….Mills figured it would be his perfect saving grace. He ran like hell and didn't stop to question anyone on the radio. Things were about to take a turn for the worse however…as the building had already been ransacked.))
/During that time period, around one hundred miles from the tundra floor. There is currently an alarm whirring loudly all throughout The Hunting Hollow, which is located directly past the Onyx Crag and not that far away from the Quetzalcoatlus temple inside the Volcano. The volume raises as Ross aims his gun and motions for his guards to train their hunting rifles on the beast running out of the chasm and taking off out of the enclosure. One of the investors who had been speaking to Rossiter via video conference, Paul Royce, is excited to visit the local hotel and join their group meeting. This is his first time being able to see the specimens so up close and personal.*
Ross: "Don't let them get out of that area, this is the last thing Rossiter wants or needs. (He inhales.) Tranquilize that beast….I told you get the whole team out here to contain this problem."
Paul Royce: "I told Mr. Santiago I would be here to see the animals up close, in the natural. (He muses.)
Paul Royce: "Show me where they are."
Biosyn Soldier: "Sir we lost contact with Command Station 2…..They are out there near the Hotel, checking permits for new investors who were planning on attending the conference."
Ross: "Paul, they are out there near the conference room outside the Hotel."
Paul Royce: "Ahh, good. I shall head over there now…..Inform them that I am on my way inside."
Ross: "Very good. And you said you lost contact…What the hell is any of that supposed to mean!?"
Biosyn Soldier: "The massive beast known as the Megalania is loose out of the experimentation center….It is roaming free near the water, and planning on crossing through the swamp next…"
Ross: "None of that can be allowed. Kill them all, shoot the Megalania and the Mogollan beast if either one of them are loose. Kill on contact or tranquilize it…" ((He sends off a massive Biosyn Helicopter into the Hunting Hollow, loaded with at least four key commando soldiers.)
Ross: "Mr. Royce, your daughter was waiting in the villa….Birthdays are big occasions for folks out here. Are you still planning on attending the conference, given her Birthday?"
Biosyn Soldier: "Sir it is loose…We are calling in to Charlie now so he also is alerted."
Paul Royce: "Of course, I wouldn't miss it for the world. This is our opening winning move here. (Inhales.) I've waited ages to be able to see these Dinosaurs up close for our investors…"
Ross: "That's fine Paul, I'm sure they will be more than pleased with your endorsement."
Ross: "Guard! Get rid of all these know-nothings in this area, and get me on the phone with Rossiter."
Biosyn Director: "Yes sir, I called my girlfriend about the radiation experiment….She says that right now Rossiter has no one manning the specimen splicing docks near the Gene containment chamber."
Ross: "What?! Get me Charlie right now, that is absolute bullocks. I saw at least three guards."
Biosyn Director: "They are all dead, sir…."
/Just then, the massive Spinosaurus rips out of the wall and comes into the habitat caving in many of the exhibit displays left and right. The horrifying, terrible jaws of the creature are dripping with blood….staring directly at the workers nearby as it begins to slowly zero in on Ross himself.*
Megalon Spinosaurus: "GRAAAAAAAAAAOOAARR! ROOOOOOOOOOOARR!" ((The sail on the back of the massive Spinosaurus destroys the outer bridge, sending it straight to the abyss. It crashes through the massive separator wall, and swallows up more than five Biosyn guards who instantly go sprawling in the jungle. The giant creature roars in anger, tearing the third guard to pieces….leaving large chunks of the flesh for the Biosyn director hanging straight out of its horrible jaws. Rossiter was displeased.))
Ross and his voice crackles on the radio: "Yes, that's right….Mr. Rossiter, the animals including the Therizinosaurus and Spinosaurus escaped from the testing grounds in the Hunting Hollow. (Inhales.) We think the Hotel has already been breached, and the area they were running tests was breached.."
Joe Rossiter on the radio comms: "What the hell do you mean?! I had guards posted on every part of the perimeter….This project was vital for Santiago and our benefactors back in Mantacorp. This is absolutely despicable, that you wait until the last moment to tell me….It is vital for us to continue to conduct our projects, and get Specimen DF to be deployed into the mountains to take back our animal.."
Ross and his voice crackles on radio: "Yes, Mr. Rossiter….We attempted to do all that. (Inhales.) The reason they got out, is there was a breach….a fence failed to light up in Sector five and the experiments are free….We already sent in all our specialists, I haven't heard any updates…."
Joe Rossiter on the radio comms: "That is total nonsense. Lock it down, now. Find the isotopes that could continue the research….I want the other three key DNA samples in my hands right now. (He shouts.) I'm dealing with my own problems over here, with Specimen DS hunting my creature down…Can you not follow simple directions? Lock the place down….now."
*Ross and his voice crackles in radio: "Of course, Rossiter….I'm on it as always. Charlie! Get all the teams including Team seven on alert, and bring them out to the Hollow….Make sure your firearms are set to shoot to kill, we can't afford anymore mistakes this time…Move it…Oh my god…"
Charlie on radio comms: "Hold on….I'm on the East tower, sending a Wet works team into the area now. We will get rid of this problem…Thank you for putting my soldiers on an immediate alert watch."
Megalon Spinosaurus: "ROOOOOOOOOOOOARR! GRAAAAAAAAAAAWWR!" ((Its huge head splits the entire set of Oil Silos into pieces, as it lifts them up and tosses them like ragdolls across the outer fence and the backlots. It then directs its attention to the Biosyn helicopter, bring its jaws down around the entire ship and tossing it into the swamp. Everyone ran for their lives into the shadowy, eerie outside shed that was across from the water's terrace. The team was dead, and the Mogollan shoved the large jeep into the water as it lunged straight out of its containment unit. There was literally no escape now.))
/All a sudden, the Megalon Spinosaurus phases in right into the frame and lifts Ross' lifeless body up inside of its massive and terrifying jaws. Rossiter is shocked and horrified beyond belief, as Ross is swallowed and chewed up….with nothing left of him as the radio goes dead silent. The rest of the Biosyn guards run for the helicopter, and start sending out a lot of other radio signals.*
http /intheartofspace \./ com/ wp-content / Hotel-Paul-Royce-Attacked-by-Spinosaurus-at-Hotel \./ jpg
/Several gates crash and explode, as suddenly the Spinosaurus erupts into the Hunting Hollow in a mad rage. Paul Royce runs inside the main foyer, meeting Jameson Ames and Tony Fortuna at the wine gallery. He is most excited to be able to join the conference, and waits just outside in the hall. "Great moments in history like this are only ever experienced once." Royce chimes in, as he sends a message to his daughter. "That sounds great dad, please come pick me up" his daughter replies. Right at that point the Spinosaurus had officially broken into the lobby, swallowing up guests. The Hybrid Spinosaurus begins devouring all the Biosyn soldiers, as it races towards the Hotel and decides to start killing most of the Hotel guests as it hunts for the last of the Biosyn shareholders from the previous meeting including Tony Fortuna, Ames, Vahn Pierce and Paul Royce. It then dips its massive snout towards the water, chasing the remaining soldiers into the river area where it tries to kill them all by bringing them straight inside its giant towering jaws. Things had gone from bad to worse, and now all the directors pay the price for the lack of protocols enforcing the tests in these specific Lake fronts. Charlie was sure he could reach Miles, but Miles didn't pick up either. Things had truly gotten bad over in that Hollow ground.*
Charlie: "Good god, there is a major security breech down here all across our perimeter….Inform Rossiter we need all four wet teams to get in here on the double. I'll have them deploy from Gate six."
Doctor Musano: "Charlie, the animals including Anteosaurus have all escaped….they're on their way to the river in Hunting Hollow right now, from what I can tell. Please tell the guests to evacuate….get them out on the Helicopters right away and don't take a break."
Charlie: "This is not what I had in mind…(He inhales.) Things have seemed to spiral out of control, ever since the new experimental updates. I am bringing in our Special Forces team…we won't have this incident ever happen again." (He furrows his brow and stares towards his gun.)
/The jungle air is rife with resignation, frustration and tense moments. There is so many pieces of the arid environment that sink into the canopy of their nearby ferns, including the Palm Trees which line the roads in and out of the Hotel….that it begins to sink into tranquility for a moment. Then a familiar jingle plays, and it's as if all the Hollow's workers are back in high spirits ready to start anew.*
/Meanwhile, at least four hundred kilometers from there deep inside the Fire Palace of Thost, things were truly starting to get really twisted. It took a dark turn as Steingarten heard the crackling radio of Jenkins describing the terrible beast he encountered. It was getting utterly frightening, as it was described how the wolf monster tore someone apart leaving barely his hands and his feet.
Steingarten: "Like I said Anne, you are supposed to be the one who knows the answers here. Maybe you can tell us more about how the carvings work here, like you were singing to Singleton not long ago…..You say you know the real way inside?"
Anne Jones Carter: "The way inside what?"
Harvest: "The way past the circular half-moon room, you cheeky floosy. In other words the bloody way inside the Room of Glass, that Singleton and Steingarten have been yelling at you about for days…"
Anne Jones Carter: "Oh I know the way inside alright…as if by memory." ((She glances around the room, seeing a total of five pillars shaped in a strange hexagon pattern. They are all pieced together as though a puzzle, one where the Bronze statue in Hallway two would surely come alive. The reality is there was a puzzle here, the only way forward or path to opening the true treasure of these waters. But there was no keys, no real door lock…..as it seemed only Anne knew the answer to the combination.))
Eric Singleton: "You have been staring at that wall long enough, lass….What did you see or what was so important that it raised your eyebrow? I thought for certain by now, you would have moved on inside and started adjusting the wall if that's truly the only way to open the secret chamber….."
Eric Singleton: "…Or the chamber door, if that is what you prefer. (He grins and glares over at the dead Indominus Rex.) That beast over there cannot bother ya any longer, so perhaps you want to make yourself useful for us…. (He grips the vine hanging overhead and pulls it towards the platform.) and find us the way inside that bloody secret Room of Glass along with the treasure keep….Since it seems likely that's the only real way inside is with your puzzle solution…"
Anne Jones Carter: "It may be the only way in, though I know this writing like the back of my hand. There may be another way inside as well. ((She glares at a single Mayan painting of an upside down triangle, the shape clearly sparkles among the reeds of the moonlit tunnel. How did she know anything about that? What made her know so much anyways?)) It is clear as day, the answer is in the crescent.."
Steingarten: "What exactly do you mean by that? You're saying the statues themselves, those emblems and icons to the Gods….carry a message? Is that what you claim….you think these things are alive?"
Anne Jones Carter: "….Maybe…"
Eric Singleton: "Aye, maybe she believes a whole lot more than that Steingarten. Maybe she even assumes they play their own symphony, but let's get one thing straight here Harvest. (He cradles his side arm with careful indifference.) The only conductors of the Opera in this house….is us."
Harvest: "I see what you mean there, Eric…She gets carried away now and then."
Eric Singleton: "….And the only one holding the baton to start the chorus, is me. (Inhales.) Now Anne, Steingarten asked you an important question….You weren't planning on delaying him, now were you?"
Steingarten: "Thanks for chipping in there mate. Alright Anne, tell us once again how this goes. You claim there's a puzzle to the room (he glares at her)…and yet there's nothing here but the foul stench of death. What sort of puzzle are we talking? And how soon, can I finally enter the chamber to claim my prize.." ((He glares on across the balcony with callous indifference. Its as if the lighting of the hall, and the chorus of the moonlit symphony had all dissolved again after the Indominus' demise…..and all that was left now was the whistling of the whispered wind. The stories telling secrets of tales long left untold, now revealed to the shock and chagrin of all involved. They were discovering the reasons why, as quickly as they discovered the Firey corridors of this haunted ballroom for the ages. This was a crypt, a crypt of the dead and inside the tomes of the soldiers who lived through it continued to echo across time.))
Steingarten: "You are not understanding the decisive nature of your situation here, Anne Carter…..Right now you are inside the tombs of the dead. That's why we are inside the Fire Palace of Thost after all, and there is no second chances now to get your solution right. (He inhales grimly.) Therefore, tell us what we need to know….and show me the secret passcode for entry…or you won't leave here. Most of us won't."
Anne Jones Carter: "I can't…..not right now anyways…"
Eric Singleton: "And why might that be, exactly?"
Anne Jones Carter: "Because first of all, I have to solve the puzzle for this room….If you truly need my help to open the underwater lab crypt that Steingarten is so concerned about. (She exhales.) And if I'm going to do that….I need more time added to my watch…I need the keys to the Curse of Thost…."
Steingarten: "The keys to the Curse of Thost you harpy…"
Anne Jones Carter: "This whole dam array of hallways are cursed, Steingarten. The dead walk its halls by day and by night all the same. If you didn't understand this by now, it's because of the Curse of Thost that our progress is somewhat slowed. (She inhales.) I need more references….I need time."
Steingarten: "You have exactly two hours, Anne….And I will be watching your every move like an vicious Hawk. Brother, keep a close eye on her and start rummaging down the hallway….See if there is any doors here that might open by pressing a secret switch…such as a small plate or circle epitaph for example.."
Eric Singleton: "Of course, Steingarten. (Inhales.) I wouldn't imagine for even a moment, leaving her alone in this giant ruined cavern beyond the grave. After all, things worse than the undead lurk down here….If one doesn't watch their steps with extra care, Anne could be the end of us."
Harvest: "Excellent point sir….And what about those statues? Can you get us a reading on that."
Steingarten: "Those statues, Harvest….I told you to stay the hell away from them. (He glares across.) There's something troubling about our whole set of ruins…Something other worldly, looking at those Aztec carvings over on the wall in Passage two...And something or someone….undead inside the statue."
Eric Singleton: "….How the hell do you know all this? Bloody eyesore, you're saying they're alive?!"
Anne Jones Carter: "You best listen to him, Singleton. Those statues are alive. And he is fully correct."
Steingarten: "Don't mess with forces beyond our understanding… (He inhales heavily.) There's something other worldly here, something terrifying…..much worse than the Indominus. I want to take over this whole Palace myself, as only at that point will we be safe….(Exhales.)"
Steingarten: "And I haven't the first clue on how to do that right now…..Yet Anne Carter, she's a key in all this crazy melodrama. She's able to aid and help us, so from there…I'm guessing this treasure shows up."
Harvest: "That doesn't sound really helpful to me…..but hell, we've already been here for an hour. (Inhales.) These ruins can't be any worse than inside the Headquarters or out on Patrol in the river…"
Steingarten: "That may not be the case, Harvest…But there's things much worse here. (He stares at an Incan sun symbol etched into the side of the giant half of the wall.) Things….better not touched. Things that should be left buried…..Things and voices….living in the statues."
Steingarten: "While we're at it Anne, why don't you light up those flames…to open the portal key we need. (Inhales.) That blue looking Sphere key there, sure seems to be what will be needed to open it."
Anne Jones Carter: "Fair enough, Steingarten. (She inhales.) It's over with now. (She backflips once and hits the switch, disabling the large Statue nearby which starts its main attack.) This key, I'll take now."
Eric Singleton: "That there is, Steingarten….That there is indeed which makes me wonder why we decided to go as deep down inside this place as we have. (Inhales.) Are we London ruffians now?"
Steingarten: "No, but…. (He exhales into the chilly night air.) We are definitely being watched, hunted and stalked by vessels of the night...Both living and dead. ((He points towards the hall.) There's something inside this Fire Palace worse than any devil looking raptor, and ten times as lethal too…"
Steingarten: "After all, as well as reasons why…..This is a familiar needs to keep things discreet Anne…Why would anyone wish to question our abilities to acquire needed resources?"
Anne Jones Carter: "Why don't you answer that for us instead? Were you not once the CEO of the most powerful genetics company….Biosyn Synthetics also called Biosyn Genetics….Mr. Steingarten?"
Steingarten: (He stares at her bluntly.) "That was all a gross over-exaggeration, Ms. Carter. I was the acting CEO and director of operations for a time….Our full time CEO who runs the foundation has been Joe Rossiter, who took over officially for Jeff Rossiter. But I thought a woman of your stature would know these things after she'd been digging around in so many dirty, grimy crypts…."
https / intheartofspace ./ com /wp-content/files/ Temple-of-Thost-Key-Flame-Chamber . jpg
Anne Jones Carter: "Dirty? What's that supposed to mean?"
Harvest: "What are you talking about, Anne? Trying to second guess the big boss are we…"
Anne Jones Carter: "Even if that is true, it's obvious your strings are pulled from somewhere else. (Inhales.) Is it not also true that Dodgson came to take the company over?"
Eric Singleton: "Watch your dam tongue, Anne. Keep your eyes fixed on solving the room's puzzle. It is dangerous to be questioning the big boss of these parts my dear…"
Steingarten: "You are absolutely mistaken…..Anne. (He glares.) Dodgson is the temporary acting CEO of Biosyn for the cameras…..We're the power behind the throne. He may wish he had my powers, yet I never officially sanctioned them to him or anyone else." (Steingarten thunders.)
/He notices the Gold statue which came alive to attack him, and knocks it back with his gun…..then shoots the switch directly above the ornament which triggers a trap, as the statue quickly explodes.*
Steingarten: "In fact, in the advent of Rossiter's official resignation or untimely death…all acting powers would resort right to me."
/She continues to stare at the narrow switch. It reveals a code that can only be triggered by placing the colors on the panels in the right order. Orange, followed by Blue then followed by Green. Seemed straightforward, yet there were at least three key switches to switch…each one on a different pyre.*
Anne Jones Carter: "Is that why Dodgson has the keys to the Genomes in that computer? So he can gloat. (She laughs.) They, meaning all powers that mean anything would resort to Dodgson and you dam well know it Steingarten….It's all his treasure now.."
Steingarten: "Absolute rubbish woman. I will have full, and total control again. Especially once these specimens are taken care of, and these native writings are properly decoded….Now open that chamber. Time is a wasting here, I need no more interruptions."
Harvest: "Careful there Anne, you don't ever want to lose anything vital…such as your ability to talk."
/A voice suddenly calls in, crackling over the radio. Charlie is on the line and speaks in sudden, hushed and harsh tones to Steingarten on the other end.*
Charlie on crackling radio to Steingarten* "Hello, yes Bill? We have a major set of problems in the Hunting Hollow….A large scale security breech has occurred in Sector Four. That massive reptile I warned you about, has finally gotten loose….Ten miles from here near the Badlands, Miles has confirmed Cornell's officially dead and something horrifying ripped apart Jenkins' arm along with three of our command station chiefs….(Inhales.) I can't get into this all right now but…." *
Steingarten speaking to Charlie on radio* "But what, Charlie? What in the hell did you mean…"*
Charlie on crackling radio to Steingarten: "But there is a huge breech in our security gate…the quadrupedal monster got out, and it's swallowing everything within three miles of our main quarter driver habitat….We can't keep the creatures secluded now." ((He states with a cold empty gesture.))
Steingarten speaks back to Charlie on radio* "What the hell? What about Specimen DF….Does Rossiter know yet? I am telling you, repeat all that to me so it makes sense…"*
Charlie on crackling radio to Steingarten: "I mean it's falling apart, and it looks bad on the experimental research center. The station's smashed clean through…I tried to warn Cathryn about this but they don't seem to care. Inform Soyona we barely got one Saber Tooth tiger in full custody now, and a host of the southern predators have broken loose all over the river inside the Hollow….There's something truly horrific stalking people right now, that Mogollan's monster might be free…"
Steingarten shouts into the intercom* "What do you mean, might be!? That thing, the species of beast and their terrestrial cousins were supposed to be dead….Do you understand? What is the meaning of all this?" *
Charlie on crackling radio to Steingarten* "I mean, it got loose sir. That's all there is to it. At least four of them now have breeched the wall near the Lake, and everything from the Uktena, to the Megalania and the other two quadrupedal monsters are over-running the security gate there…."*
Harvest: "That sounds like hogwash sir, we already deployed an advanced squad to Sector four."
Steingarten shouts again in the intercom* "Absolute rubbish! Get the S team into the Hangar right away, and have them send triple the rounds. Also alert the central salvage crew near Dr. Wu's hangar in the Eastern Terrace. They need to send all of Dodgson's men over there, I don't want that monster roaming around any longer do I make myself clear…"*
Charlie on crackling radio to Steingarten* "Clear as crystal, sir. But it's not that simple now."
Eric Singleton: "Alright Anne, I think you have fiddled with that door breaker to open the mechanism long enough….Start explaining your purposes behind this."
Anne Jones Carter: "Why don't you say the real reasons you send Edgar to Nublar, to sabotage Biosyn's operation Steingarten? It is obvious you were behind all that….isn't it now official at this stage."
Steingarten: "Nonsense, woman. How did you know that? Yes, I did send Edgar Prather to the Island to sabotage them and their Cupertino facility….But only to get rid of the Durants, since they were a spy operation I couldn't afford like the natives. (He inhales.) I didn't want one arm of Biosyn to know what the other was doing, so sure you best believe…I may have had Edgar kill her. (Exhales.) Durant was working for Dodgson and was trying to rip the company away from me with the aid of Miles Chadwick….I had to act…I had her killed for trying to seize the Flame."
Anne Jones Carter: "So you admit it, finally do you Bill….You had the Durants killed."
Charlie speaks again through the crackling radio: "Sir, there's another problem with the Containment cube. We have a security breech detected in Sector 5, meaning the breakout in the Habitat triggered a malfunction in the lining walls contained around the Spinosaurus Mausoleum viewing dock. One of those Spinosaurs broke free in the confusion, they are heading downstream to the Hollow right now…"
Steingarten barks back in the radio: "What!? Get that whole area neutralized right now, I didn't authorize any of this….Take out our best sharp shooters to put a lid down on that whole project. (Inhales.) I can't believe Ross didn't inform me of the current status for the silos…"
Charlie speaks again through a crackling radio: "Uh sir, Ross and Barnes are dead. They never made it out when the breech started…..I'll get started on it right away here."
Steingarten barks again: "Blast it…I warned them to bring the suits."
Steingarten: "Not for the reasons you assume though, Anne. I wanted them out of the way so I could take control of Biosyn's eastern operation zone….The hot zone, run by Soyona Santos unofficially as well as Dodgson and Cathryn. They were going to expose my hunting the grasslands operation, and try to get me in trouble with Doctor Wu. He was using the Flame against me, so I wanted Edgar to steal it first."
Anne Jones Carter: "And what's so important about those old legends….the old tale of the Green Flame, Steingarten? That you would risk life and limb on all counts to settle a feud…"
Steingarten: "The key to nirvana, you hapless little twit…Didn't your mother teach you a thing? It is the key to our own personal Nirvana. I have other reasons for wanting the two teams to fight each other."
Charlie crackling on the radio comm: "Steingarten, they're all loose….And Dr. Grant has found the Hollow somehow, he got past Security Checkpoint Z…..Impossible as it seems, they scaled the cliff."
Steingarten shouts back into the radio: "What? Impossible….Kill them all, and send a note to Rossiter. Bring Wet Operations Team four in to start wiping all the creatures out by the Lake. I want this whole mess cleaned up within the next forty eight hours."*
*Charlie shouts back on the radio: "Understood, Steingarten. But I think it may take a bit more than that this time…"
Eric Singleton: "We got all the time in the world, once we unlock these ruins. (Inhales.) Carry out his orders now, and start executing most of the animals in that paddock before they make a run for it."
Eric Singleton: "What did I say to you again, sergeant? Don't wait for Eli Mills to show up….Start shooting and killing the animals on sight all across the Hollow, directly on Steingarten's order."
Charlie shouts back on the radio: "That could create complications…."
Harvest: "Well, he just said he doesn't care. (He snaps.) Do it now."
Anne Jones Carter: "You always were the type to start a war first, weren't you Steingarten…"
Steingarten: "You bet Anne. (He glares.) Don't you ever assume you're any better."
Eric Singleton: "Steingarten, forgive me if I'm not amused. What about the Christening Chamber of the Flames, the one which lights the waters? If we enter at the right time, it's supposed to open the Chalice so we can finally enter the key room and awaken the Crucible of Faded Shadow so we can retrieve the last DNA capsules…."
Steingarten: "What on earth are you on about now, Soldier? The Crucible of Faded Shadow is a myth, much like the mystical properties of these caves. (He stares ahead.) Likely it came off of Anne's backpack like the rest of these tall tales…."
Anne Jones Carter: "It's no myth, Steingarten. (She says coldly.) You want to know what Sonya Durant discovered, what others discovered about the Flame? I will tell you…or better yet, show you." (She exclaims in defiance.)
Anne Jones Carter: "Just take me into the rooms….There's a couple of towers in here that lead higher…"
Harvest: "You don't know what powers you're messing with. What is that supposed to mean?"
Anne Jones Carter: "Take me into the room where the Flames were rumored to appear. Tell me, Steingarten. Did you notice one thing? Every single room in here, in this whole Palace….seems to have a flame lit at some hour or another for some reason."
/Inside the chamber they have walked into is a number of statues, a total of three which cover the East terrace. Each one seems to be cold and lifeless, until Anne walks over a tile on the floor. Then suddenly they jump to life, as she realizes the horrors of what's been said in legends from this place.*
/Suddenly, the room lights up as several Statues begin to move around the eastern edges. They stare out with cold, sterile eyes which seems to fill Anne with a sense of dread and lines the corridors with submerged and deadly secrets. In the corner, an unknown Therizinosaurus monster stares with menacing eyes straight through them. Obviously, the only way for them to solve this puzzle is to light the Flame in the west hall once, then the south hall next, followed by the east hall and finally the north hall in order. She flips backward stares at the red hot floor, paying especially close attention to the corridors and how they zip and zag across the floor.*
Marble Zeglon Statue: "GRAAA! GET OUT, YOU DON'T BELONG HERE….MORTALS…" ((It screams as it suddenly moves towards Anne's right shoulder, nearly knocking her over into the pit ten feet down. She darts out of the way and dodges the large statue's exterior, as the arm flies down nearly slicing her body in half. The statue then moves back towards Steingarten and shoves him off the balcony to the bottom.))
/Suddenly, in a rather terrifying turn of events the second and third statues begin to come to life. They begin to move in a clockwise pattern, coming around at Steingarten from the left and right side as the next one smashes Harvest out of the path. He falls one story down, smashing his head.*
Harvest: "Get it going Anne, get on with it and open the dam locks…." ((He scowls.))
/Then, suddenly the large Gold statue leaps out and attempts to slice Anne Carter again in half. Anne then moves out at top speed and shoots off forty bola snares and electric bolts which hit the giant pylon standing directly above, as they swing in the breeze. The Statue then finally reverses down the stairs and shatters….instantly exploding.*
Marble Zeglon Statue: "AGRAAAAAAAAAH! YOUR TIME IS UP-" (Its screams are cut off.)
Steingarten: "This is not what I had in mind ever since they started with Isla Tacano and the rest…(He dodges the statue and shoots off four concrete bola snare rounds into its face, blowing it to pieces.)
Steingarten: "You sullen yellow bellies of the deep lagoon….Stay back I said! I am no mortal, I run the ship here. This Island belongs to Biosyn and my patrons. Get back in your place, you hollow men!"
/Steingarten shifted in the doorway and shouted, seemingly making the bricks shift on either side of the wall. They would fluctuate and collapse inward from both sides as the hot sun beat down inside.*
Anne Jones Carter: "The flame has to be lit in the right order….Or else your treasure will sink below…" ((She waves the torch back and forth…destroying what remains of the statue and focusing on the dinosaur that started to zero in on her right leg. The Therizinospinus monster ferociously attacks.))
Steingarten: "I am well aware of that. (He stares at the smooth, cylindrical device on the ceiling.) I think good ol' Singleton is right about you, you know too much about this place….about this Island it seems…"
Anne Jones Carter: "Well then, you shouldn't be afraid at this point. (She points towards the door above the hall that is shutting on a timer.) Take me there and we'll find out for ourselves, shall we?"
/She moves to the other side again, avoiding the pit and retrieving the mechanism.*
Harvest: "You're on, woman. This whole place is untested waters….that means nobody has a claim to it yet. (He stares.) The statues come alive in the halls, you were right about it and Singleton asked to know why. No one messes with Bill Steingarten and gets to walk out to tell the stories about it nowadays."
Anne Jones Carter: "Take me down the stair case to the Crucible of Faded Shadow and we'll see…..We will see if you will obtain what you seek. I did say I know more about these hollowed halls than you, after all it wasn't on the back of my notebook for nothing…."
Steingarten: "But how? You're nothing but a day dreamer, a bystander….Harvest is right. No one knows about these secrets on this Island in the middle of the Ocean….no one is supposed to know."
Steingarten: "So I'm about to ask you one more question, loud and clear here….Before we move on to the puzzle chambers to unlock and receive my code. (He exhales.) How in the hell did you know anything about the moving statues, or the Crucible of Faded Shadow that our pal here mentions?"
Anne Jones Carter: "You'll just have to bring me down into the ruins…And trust there's a reason."
Eric Singleton: "Oh, I bet you will start talking. Once those statues begin to move, and start coming in on the offense towards us…..We'll more than get you to start talking. We want the full story, it's our right."
Steingarten: "Well you can help me with that right here, Anne. Bring us to the platform dealing with the Glowing Room of Crypts and Amber so I can see for myself what lies behind their throne."
Steingarten: "You said the door leads to the next Tower of Secrets which contains the map? What did you mean by a Tower of Secrets…..In any case, solve the puzzle now."
Anne Jones Carter: "I didn't ever mention it was a Tower of Secrets did I….I recall I used the word Tower."
Harvest: "You best keep moving…..The living are stalked by the cast shadows of the non-living, on most floors of this place. (He inhales.) Tell us again Anne, in which order do you light the flames in this hall?"
Anne Jones Carter: "I will tell you only if you let me show you after we enter the sanctum. (Inhales.) I know my way around Mayan Shrines, and that should be good enough for either of you for now."
Steingarten: "Fair enough, Anne….Lead the way. (He motions to the stone steps and uses a hand-signal to send a sign to both of his co-horts.) You find this lost treasure if that's the case…stop wasting time."
https/ intheartofspace \./ com /wp-content/files/ Temple-of-Thost-Fire-Puzzle-Chamber-Secret-Dinosaur-Attacks \./ jpg
/Steingarten stands and stares in amazement as the seven blocks in the room begin to shift into a diamond pattern. Anne moves one tile after the other, seemingly lighting the flames in a criss cross that ends in an unknown shape formed. As each tile presses against the other, Steingarten's forehead begins to sweat profusely. He hears the distant sound of an echo, a major discovery or monster lies in wait. His palms and forearm continue to heat up at the sight of the code that suddenly draws on the wall.*
*"Beneath the tattered morning star, this time look up and to the right…do not miss the glare, without looking past the bar…." It was speaking about something in between the two switches. Right then, Steingarten got a sudden heavy expression and looked straight at Harvest again. He knew that it dealt with the glowing door at the end of the hall and he wished for an answer, one that could settle his Providian fantasies with proper foresight and respect. They had been there already for one hour….what possibly more could this room mean to taunt him with? Steingarten barked again back at Anne.*
Steingarten: "Answer me again here, and don't dally this time. How did you know about this sealed door here? Are you saying the Flames are located behind the door, is that why you re-arranged them here…"
Harvest: "Don't trust her latest riddles, sir. We could stand in this room from all four corners…and still not be given the exact vision or purpose here. I believe they call that one, Aesop's Ghost."
Eric Singleton: "That belonged to the old Scandinavian warlocks, and this is no Amber shrine...(Don't you mean Aesop's Fables, you feeble man.) This is a genuine Fire Palace, Harvest...Few of us have ever seen."
Anne Jones Carter: "Once again, I told you….Stop taking up the room here. ((She slams back against the wall and suddenly moves each of the Fire pyres in the room into a star formation. It lights up, instantly created a chime….the second chime in a row. The door slowly opens at the end of the room hall.))
/Right then, out of nowhere the circle of Lit flames begins to burn in a single pattern which drops forward in a diagram that is unmistakable. The design fills the entire room, yet as each Flame burns brighter the patterns that line the walls are beginning to glow as well. Then, out of nowhere they hear the sound roaring in the distance.*
Unknown Therizinosaurus: "RAAAAAAAAWWR! GRAAAWWR!" ((The giant Dinosaur's menacing voice begins to fill the entire room, with large panels popping off in different colors. It starts stalking down the halls, staring right over at Singleton who begins to get nervous and stumbles back.))
Eric Singleton: "You know dam well the specimen samples are behind the door, well get on with it then….Start getting us inside that room. (Inhales.) Or if that's where it leads, The Room of Glass….We'll soon have our answers either way won't we. Then from there….We'll have the blood samples."
Anne Jones Carter: "I told you….I know a lot about this place that's more than you realize."
Steingarten: "You do know a lot more than I gave you credit for originally, I'll give you this much."
Harvest: "What….Boss, what the hell is that!?"
/Suddenly, out of nowhere the ghostly apparition begins to shake the whole room. This strange untimely creature barrels right out in front of them, and starts slashing its massive thick Sickle claws towards Steingarten and Harvest from both directions. It is a strange, nearly multi-headed creature.*
Therizinospinus: "GRAAAAAAAAAWWR! RAAAAAAAAWWR!" ((The massive Bi-pedal Dinosaur nearly gets on all fours, as its huge gaping mouth full of razor sharp teeth comes into view. It was a hybrid Therizinosaurus, much worse than anything shown at the observatory….and its back was filled with the actual fin of a Spinosaurus. Out of nowhere, the hideous beast crashed straight into the wall…grappling Anne's leg in its jaws as it attempted to start strangling her to death outright with its double layered claws. Steingarten stumbled about, and hobbled over to the ancient stone door.))
Steingarten: "This is not going to go down this way, not after how far I've come…." (He screams.)
/Suddenly, Steingarten makes a run for the stairs and sprints up to the top as fast as his legs could carry him. He hears screaming on the radio, as the crackling voice of what may be Miles Chadwick continues to reverberate throughout the whole hall. The sickle claws of the terrifying Therizinospinus erupt into the large echo chamber above, as it claws through the wall attempting to kill him in one strike. Then it literally blows a hole in the ceiling and pole-vaults its way through the Eastern Annex, intent on striking with a hundred downward thrusts upon Steingarten's back. He faces away from it, and notices Anne has just finished cycling the Lit Flames in the center room in order. Out of complete astonishment, he stands amazed as suddenly the glowing door in the back automatically opens wide. Abra Cadabra….he thinks as he shakes his head in a solemn manner.*
Steingarten: "Bloody hell, you did it…..Now that dammed Therizinospinus monster is about to kill me as well. Singleton, shoot the creature and lend me your sidearms! This is absolutely not what I need…"
Therizinospinus: ((For a moment it disappears, and then suddenly out of nowhere a crash is heard.)) "GRAAAAAAAAAAAWWRR! ROOOOOOAR! SKREEEEEEEEEEEEE!" ((The massive double claw of the creature thrusts through the Western Wall, tearing the area with the Glyph to pieces. He can hear the massive rows of sharp angled teeth cutting through the wall, crushing it to pieces. Then he sees the menacing face of the massive reptile destroying the pieces of the ceiling, as the Therizinospinus finally soars through the air and manages to sneak into the ceiling directly above Steingarten….glaring down a menacing stare as it prepares to pounce from overhead. Its large claws prepare to spear straight through the target, as Steingarten rolls over to the right and makes a sprint for the second set of stairs on top.))
Steingarten: "Not today, no food for you! (He screams as he scurries to the other side. Part of his arm is torn clean off by the Therizinosaurus hybrid, which now has plunged both its terrifying sickle claws into Steingarten's back….with guttural indifference to the sharp cries. It begins to snap its jaws straight around his neck, as the world starts to fade out….and Steingarten shoots off more than thirty electric bolts towards the ceiling to throw it off.)
Steingarten: "Blast it!"
/Just then, a sweltering flurry of Nitrogen blasts go off as Anne Carter flips around past the second switch and aims all of her weapons straight at the creature. The concussion grenades go off in a single file line, which crosses from one end of the miniature arena to the other. As the bombs explode, suddenly they throw the massive Therizinospinus off balance…who begins to get caught in the gears that jut along the corridor. It spins in a circle out of view, trying to rip the entire column from its base. Right then, Anne somersaults up the Sunlit staircase and shoots the hanging pillar above its head…while looking for an exit to the room. The pillar plunges straight down from above, narrowly missing the Therizinospinus which is now rushing to collapse the wall on the opposite side of the walkway.*
Harvest: "This isn't what we signed up for at all…..Blast that creature to bits Eric…Move it!" ((He targets all his weapons straight at the Dinosaur who hangs like a obsidian nightmare, from the awning above. The entire area starts to go night cold with the feeling of empty, rotting pits of nothingness. There can be no valor here nor honor, not when the halls of the living are turned into shrines of the dead.))
Steingarten: "I said…..Put your iron sights on the target! You aren't about to ever get a day off here. Blow that creature out of proximity and into the gallows…" ((He then fires off fifteen napalm laced grenades, which begin to crumble the entire upper corridor. Debris is falling down from all sides, across the chasm of the chamber's upper monolith among the set of curved archways serrating in a circle. The hybrid Therizinosaurus then races towards Anne, who sees an opportunity to swing back to the corridor west of her current hiding spot. She moves behind the column to vanish from view, and shoots a final set of fifteen shotgun blasts into the switch directly East of the door.))
Anne Jones Carter: "That should take care of this whole problem once and for all…."
/Suddenly, the entire structure above begins to shake like an Earthquake and as it does a set of giant rotating spikes fly through the open panel in the Eastern column which circle outward in an ignited cross pattern. They shoot out from both sides, impaling the Therizinospinus monster with hundreds of deadly swords that light its carcass ablaze. The Dinosaur was finally killed, as Anne moved forward.*
Steingarten: "The door is open….There at the back. Tell me where it leads…"
Eric Singleton: "Yes sir, looks interesting here…..It leads to the other side of the Worship Chamber. It looks like through here, in this tunnel system….is the Room of Glass you've been yearning for."
Steingarten: "Good….Get the dam thing open, there's no time to spare."
Anne Jones Carter: "I told you I always have the answers here…..I've been doing this for several decades. (Inhales.) You should trust that when I tell someone something, it's not to gloat. It is because I have the answers…..I know more about this Palace than you studied in all your years in Yale…"
Steingarten: (He stares at her with one eye cautiously drawn.) "It seems you do, Anne….It sure seems that way doesn't it. How convenient. Now, open those tunnels and light the torches. We aren't all waiting for you to decide the right moment again."
Anne Jones Carter: "I am more than capable of beating these traps…" ((She then lights the torches, in a hexagonal design so each one Lights a different part of the room. Slowly, without warning….the two doors up above begin to open wide as well.))
Harvest: "Well I'll be dammed Singleton…..She did it alright, did she now. ((He moves to the top of the awning and drags his heavy rifle with him.)) I'm standing guard in case another one of those horrible monsters from the fiery depths show up. This treasure belongs to me now also boss, I stood guard…"
Eric Singleton: "You do that, Harvest….We're counting on it. Meanwhile, I'll follow Steingarten in through the Crypt Keep and make sure nothing else follows behind….and we don't see anymore trouble."
Steingarten: "Gee, thank you for finally stepping in for once. (Inhales.) Alright Anne, get on with it. Lead the way to the Room of Glass and we may just let you live, for right now…."
Anne Jones Carter: "I am more than capable of beating these traps….I will always prove that up front."
Steingarten: "Good, get on with it…..Open the doors, we don't want another of those invisible creatures to catch up or something worse….do we. So get moving…We are more than ready to take what's ours."
Harvest: "Finally, sir….We may well have found the greatest treasure this Island has ever seen."
Steingarten: "You're not telling anyone about this….Keep your trap shut, Harvest. If I choose to let Dodgson know later about what we found here, that's my prerogative. You obey me…Is that clear?"
Harvest: "Clear as it will ever get boss….I will be on watch." ((He unholsters his rifle and starts aiming for anything that moves within the chamber.))
Eric Singleton: "Actually Steingarten, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we do have to report back….I will be sure to let Rossiter know what we find…If something else comes out of this."
Anne Jones Carter: "You have a problem here…you don't trust me?"
Steingarten: "No, I am just tired of running around after you all this time….But we will see soon won't we. Alright Singleton I warned you, things are a mess back near the base right now. There are haunted things we have not a clue about, all over this horrible dungeon….and we barely got the new room opened wide now. (Inhales.) I don't want you to report any of our findings right now…."
Steingarten: "Do I make myself crystal clear here? I'm not making any sudden moves….No more mistakes will be tolerated on my watch. (He inhales.) I want that artifact, and whatever else they hid from me…"
Harvest: "You think it is hidden here, sir?"
Steingarten: "No you scaly son of a anchor boy….I know it is, all of it is hidden here."
http /intheartofspace /.\ com/ wp-content/files/ Inner-Fire-Sanctum-Temple-of-Thost-Halls-before-Room-of-Glass \./ jpg
Steingarten: "Alright Anne, you're on….Into the next room we go. Since you wish for us to take you to the Crucible of Faded Shadow, I say lead the way then….You realize this is the only way to the Room of Glass I take it now. Get us into that throne room, and we can easily make it to the Crucible right after…."
Anne Jones Carter: "The Room of Glass is only four rooms away from here…. (She lights a trail through the various torches.) And all you need to do, is you gotta help me avoid the undead…."
Steingarten: "That's a comforting thought….Look alive men, the chambers here have ears. What do you make of this fiery wall here on the floor? The large chasms of Lava….Surely you know the answer."
Anne Jones Carter: "I'm an explorer, not your thesaurus….These Lava plumes or canyons….Are running down the hall here from both platforms. (Shrugs.) It makes sense to a degree, since this place is called the Fire Palace of Thost after all…My understanding of it, is if I flip back up here…" ((She back flips to the balcony above.) I just hit the switch, and that should solve the puzzle…"
Steingarten: "Brilliant….You are quite the mastermind aren't you….And is that why my appearance is changing…I bloody seem to be getting younger. (He exhales.) Is that caused by the rooms here?"
Anne Jones Carter: "That's caused by the Flames in the rooms….Steingarten. I tried to warn you before, it is affecting all of you. And each time it does, the mysteries of this place get a bit deeper indeed…"
Eric Singleton: "Forget that, lass. Are you going to help him open up the conduits or what? We need to get to the Room of Glass no matter the cost, since it's our only way to the Ultima Saurus…"
Harvest: "Hmm…Interesting runes on the walls."
Anne Jones Carter: "Oh I am positive of that….But if you want to open that up so much, you need to be more patient. (Inhales.) Give me time to crack the code…..After all, behind that door are the genomes you want. Your keys to eternal youth…"
Steingarten: "Fair enough, Anne. Hurry up though sweet cheeks….The ruins inside our Palace here get more deadly by the hour….And so does our predicament, when it comes to the Gods of this land."
Anne Jones Carter: "Sounds like you have cold feet, just because I solved the puzzle faster."
Steingarten: "Perhaps we should not have come then…What is that beast? Why is it roaring so loudly….Good god I have never seen anything like that before…"
/A giant demon looking animal, quickly enters the sanctum room where the Glyphs and Carvings glow in the midst of the storm. It lights the way it appears to the room which will unlock the Ultima Saurus itself. This monster has an interesting name, and Steingarten muses himself to watch it.*
UltimaSpinus: "GRAAAAAAAAAAWOOAR! ROOOOAR!" ((It slashes through the air and topples over a statue in the balcony foyer.))
Steingarten: Incredible….What type of monster is it?"
Anne Jones Carter: "That, Steingarten…is what they call an "Ultima Spinus"….a type of animal that is designed to hunt other predators. (She looks towards the wall.) It's possible it could be used to hunt something bigger….perhaps that final Dinosaur that is needed to reach the Ultima Saurus….The rarity of that creature there cannot ever be understated. It has a powerful, massive bite for such a short monster…I recommend you alert others immediately, if you plan on taking it to the cage."
Harvest: "That is quite a spectacle isn't it sir….I will get the cage ready…shall we send it a housewarming gift or kill it perhaps?"
http /intheartofspace / wp-content /wp-content/files/ Ritual-room-of-the-Gods-Monolith-of-Statues-Temple-of-Thost \./ jpg
Steingarten: "No….That is brilliant. Absolutely stunning…Let me alert Rossiter, let him know we are pulling this beast in to take care of the hunt. ((He shoots four large tranquilizer darts inside the UltimaSpinus, ensuring it topples over. He then signals for Harvest and Singleton to carry it out.))
Steingarten on radio comm: "Yeah, Rossiter? Well I found something you and Dr. Sorkin will likely be very interested in over here in room seven of the Palace of Thost….A beast that can use real English words…Called the UltimaSpinus, for short…I feel it may be used as a great gift when unlocking Ultima Saurus…."*
Rossiter responding over radio: "Is that right Steingarten? Fair enough. Sounds as though the reptile might make a nice Pet. I will let you keep the terrible lizard for now….Just know that we can't feet things like this. (Inhales.) We already got enough issues over here…the Mogollan Megalania monster's on the loose….Specimen DS can barely keep up….Send your UltimaSpinus back on the Helicopter….We will put it to work on hunting my prize….Thanks for alerting me, over and out…"
Harvest: "Alright, I will take the damm thing out to the Jeep. Send that beast back to base…Good riddance! (He loads it up in the transport crate and moves it for airlift.) Let's make it count, boss!"
Eric Singleton: "Good ol' Anne always assumes the worst. Should I butter her up for a sacrifice?"
Steingarten: "Not right now….Just let little ol' Anne lead the way….Let's see how quickly she brings us in to our reward."
Harvest: "That more than rings from the sound of it….Alright Anne, lead the way out. We'll see here."
/Meanwhile, around the other side of the cliffs exactly eight hundred miles from there over at the top of the Onyx Crag near the cliffs. There was a new ceremonial dance taking place, this time which deals with the truth about Mayan prophecy and what that might tell our intrepid group of heroes. Everyone, including Sara Harding, Ian Malcolm, Robert Muldoon, Kelly, Dr. Sattler, Alan Grant and Owen Grady all stood at attention and ready to understand the nature of this mystical realm that came before. They understood that every history has a chronology, and were curious to learn what that would turn out to be in the world they were in now. Especially because its quite alluring, as this was Site C.*
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Hello, fellow travelers. I hope you rested well as there's a few key issues to cover here before you move on to the Hunting Hollow over the ridge…You are living inside a legend, we call this cave "The Cavern of Souls" as it is in this hollowed realm….where the souls of all come to rest."
Ian Malcolm: "Meaning?"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Meaning every type of soul….Living and dead. But it is here, in this sacred shrine where my people can permit you to design a new vessel for yourselves….What you experience here, is what you are meant to see. What you are meant to experience on the path."
Sara Harding: "Wow, but this place….This whole place has been around for generations. It feels so mystical, so other worldly….Like it might have been here for thousands of years…"
Ellie Sattler: "It's just….never in our wildest dreams did we imagine a place like this."
Alan Grant: "This is the most incredible, and hard to fathom Island I have ever been on…."
Robert Muldoon: "This Island is from another time and place….I watched over Kenya preserves…This Island is surely way beyond that."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "That's because it has been….It has been here for at least as long, And the journey forward is just as telling today as it was back then. (Inhales.) The Flames tell the tale….They recite a long adventure as old as the stars….And it foretold your coming, both you Alan Grant as well as you Ellie Sattler….And of course you, Robert Muldoon and Ian Malcolm…"
Owen Grady: "Is there a place in your tribe….for Claire and myself? To help with Blue, and to aid Maisie Lockwood who seems to be the key to things here….If you can help me in some way, please tell me around the Ice Shore ruins area so I can capture the Megalodon and others needed to finish here."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Megalodon? That is a great, and mighty terrible creature….I will help how I can."
Claire Dearing: "Owen, don't interrupt him too much….I'm sure he has not had many travelers like us."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "We knew, each one of us knew you would arrive here one day to see the spirits."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "And I am here to tell you the secret…..Each one of the flames, form the Purple…to the Blue, to the crimson Red….and the Green….Each one represents a different energy tome. (He inhales.) They all lead back to the same place however, The Great Journey beyond…."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "In a word, they lead to immortality….The knowledge of greatness beyond your wildest dreams. You discover that the Red flame, leads to energy absorbing…where you absorb the wisdom and sayings of your progeny for greater courage. The Purple Flame, leads to the scholarly pursuit of Knowledge. The Blue flame, is the flame of Intention….How to reflect back in the bearer of that Flame the desire or intent to transform the world. Intention means to take action. And the Green Flame, represents Regeneration…Revival….and Rebirth. It is the path….the path to eternal youth."
Alan Grant: "Are you saying, each of the Flames represent a different path to ascend? And that in effect, they all lead to the same outcome in a way…..The desire, the need to grow younger. Eternity and Youth."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "In a way, that is what I am saying Dr. Grant….Yes. But you must always remember, each Flame leads to a different part of the tome. As our great ancestors had foretold."
Ellie Sattler: "But then surely there must be a way to channel the energy, for a higher cause?"
Sara Harding: "Yes, like she said….Surely there must be a way to use it against Dodgson….to stop him from taking hold of Ultima Saurus and to reverse the DX curse….And remove its stumbling blocks."
Ian Malcolm: "I am astonished by all this….Four to five flames, and each one represents a different universal human ambition. Each one is equally important, all of them…also balance the Ebb and Flow of time itself. (Exhales.) In a word…They are the key to the world beyond the Chaos Theory, chaos itself."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Yes they are, Dr. Malcolm. (Inhales.) However, I have shown you many things…..Now you must go to the Hunting Hollow….You must transcend and learn the truth there. (Exhales.) Take the compass, slay the beast in the wild lands and know this….."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "The final key to Eternity lies in the Pillar of Time's essence itself…..You must unlearn what you have learned. You must take on the great powers of the Red Flame and the Green Flame, whose combined powers will be infused into that beast…The Tyrannosaurus Rex."
Sara Harding: "What will it do? It must be something that can stop the prophecy…"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "It will do much more than that, Dr. Harding. (He grins.) It will give the Tyrannosaurus its ultimate healing power and ability to attack monsters….Such that it can with-stand any degree of stress from the Ultima Saurus. I have foreseen this, as shown here in the flame."
Ellie Sattler: "I don't….what, I don't entirely understand…"
Alan Grant: "You can't possibly mean, we are asked to fight that thing?!"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Yes, because the Blue Flame is also the flame of Valor you will indeed fight it. But you won't fight alone….For the Dinosaurs of this land will fight with you, as the people of Biosyn will succeed in resurrecting the Ultima Saurus I'm afraid, Dr. Grant…And when they do you will stop them."
Owen Grady: "How!? It seems like a dream or distant memory….That monster is nearly as large as half of this Island, according to all the legends. And according to the writings in that stone tablet…"
Claire Dearing: "I think he is going to reveal all that….Give him time Owen."
Sara Harding: "Surely you cannot mean we just fight it without any fore warning."
Ian Malcolm: "Unbelievable….and so this, mystery compass is going to help us?"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Oh no, you will fight it. And you will have what you need when you do."
/He points to the purple flame in the center, and takes Billy's body and throws it in so it strikes the Purple and Green Flames themselves. Suddenly the room shakes and quakes for a few moments, as the fires glow bright hot and erupt for a few seconds…as Billy's body is suddenly miraculously revived back to life. He comes out of the fires, as good as new…..Reborn in the Green Flame.*
Mayan Elder Escordio: "I have shown you, what you must do Dr. Grant. You and Malcolm take the compass and enter Hunting Hollow next, very shortly….And there you will slay the beast guarding those rivers. (He inhales.) My people are there….Many Shamans stalk the water of those Shadowy depths….and by that I mean, there is a liquid tar like substance inside the water."
Alan Grant: "How long has this gone on for, Elder?"
Billy Brennan: "I feel like I just stepped out of a cryogenic Ice machine. I have returned, everyone!"
Ellie Sattler: "Billy, it is tremendous to see you!"
Kelly: "Billy! All this sounds unbelievable, and boy is it great to see you…"
Ian Malcolm: "Thank goodness we didn't lose you…"
Arby: "Thank goodness we don't have to go through all that again…"
Ian Malcolm: "What about Diego? I can't believe all those people died…"
Robert Muldoon: "I was getting worried for a moment there. (Inhales.) It seems one or two of these flames, literally revive our lost loved ones back to life….This is vitally important to know for me."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Yes. The substance in the water is a purple colored liquid tar, it is a firm gelatin that will surely drown you if you touch it at night without preparation. (Inhales.) It is deadly to the human touch…..but it also works in the reverse, legends have said."
Alan Grant: "And so we have to cross this valley, as well as the Jungle river correct? What sort of traps can we expect…..It must be littered with interesting species and ecologies across their large jungle."
Ellie Sattler: "Does this mean, we have to hide there?"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Listen to the sound of my voice, and watch the rhythm of the Flames. (Inhales.) I'm afraid that for now, I can do nothing for your friend Diego…He is too far gone. But, once you are ready to escape here and shutdown Dodgson's operation…..Once you have graduated, and turned off the machines in the Spinosaurus Mausoleum plus ventured back to Lockwood's castle to shut it off….Then I will gladly do what I can to bring Diego back to life….It requires a rare fruit, that grows only in these lands of Shadow…..Sort of like the legends of Sothoryos or King Arthur….Which you are familiar?"
Ian Malcolm: "No, I have never heard of them….Sound like amazing legends though."
Alan Grant: "All I know about is Merlin, and the tales of the Kings of Camelot… (Smiles) I admit, I'm not as up to date on my history but I will do what I can…if that means we need to retrieve this fruit as well."
Owen Grady: "I can help with that….if you can help us find some proper ingredients for my Velociraptor. Her name is Blue….We need some real help here, since we're nearing the time when we got to escape from Site C…But before we get out of here, I got a bone to pick and fight to finish with Dodgson…."
Kelly: "Is it true Elder, did Dodgson really return back to life because of this place?"
Arby: "Kelly don't bug him right now…"
Ellie Sattler: "Is there an effect, external or internal on the fauna? These plants have no matching type…"
Sara Harding: "….What she means is, can you tell us what they did with the species here? There must be some listing system for these animals."
Billy Brennan: "I'm sure if anything, it has to be near the Mausoleum….Nothing like this has ever been attempted before. Whatever they at Biosyn did, we must have a way to reverse all of it now."
Robert Muldoon: "Well, this has been the adventure of a lifetime… I say let's get moving to the Hollow."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Dodgson was chosen by the Gods. Grant, the tales of Merlin….Ahh yes, it might be similar to that in some small ways. In any case, you must destroy the beasts in the Hollow. That is the only way to truly escape from this Island in a way that nearly everyone survives….You see, Dodgson was chosen by prophecy…A prophecy foretold by our Elders of the coming apocalypse."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "And we saw him, as well as his magician lords in a vision. (He inhales.) When Dodgson passed on to the great spirits, it tore a wound of sorts in the fabric of our universe…..And so Biosyn who is an evil, callous company….Brought him back to life fairly quick. (Exhales.) But he wasn't the same, I'm sure you know…..The company did terrible experiments to him…"
Ian Malcolm: "What sort of experiments are we talking here? Is this anything like a Prometheus vision…"
Mayan Elder Escordio: (Exhales.) Terrible, awful experiments. Just as no one outside of here knew the new CEO of Biosyn was Dodgson who had been reborn, there was a great fall taken by our leaders. The shake up occurred on all different levels, as they saw how to revive Dodgson using symbiotic drugs and DNA samples from living Dinosaurs….Years ago, it would have been seen as science gone wrong…"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "But today, when Dodgson fell and he failed…It impacted everyone. So now, the experiments they did on the man to bring him back were beyond horrific. They changed the composition of his very body, his mind…his soul. To resemble something now that is far from Human…..in order to bring back a creature into the world that is beyond a terrifying mistake.(Inhales.)"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "…Yet according to the threads of Fate, it is a necessary mistake in this case. For Humanity to learn their lesson, they must put a stop to Dodgson and his vision. That would include of course Dr. Grant, this entire Island…..which is an extension of his Apocalyptico vision."
Alan Grant: "And when this is done, and we succeed?"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Then and only then, will the nightmare of Site C end…..When the CEO and his vision falls, this Island will cease to exist for a long time…..It will be cut off. And it won't present itself again until a team of sane, fitting individuals see fit to bring part of it back…perhaps under InGen."
Ian Malcolm: "So the prophecy of Prometheus in this case, comes true…..it would seem."
Ellie Sattler: "But how do we stop the madman, given he has so many levers of power?"
Sara Harding: "This wasn't ever going to be easy, Ian…"
Billy Brennan: "So I can tell he just lets prophecy do its thing…But we still don't have a true answer."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Simple, Dr. Malcolm and Dr. Sattler. You take away from him the one thing he can't afford to lose no matter what…His reputation. Destroy the Ultima Saurus that Biosyn revives."
Alan Grant: "….Which I am guessing would be much easier said, then done given this Island."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "There is a way…..Turn off the machines in the Mausoleum. Remove all the protocols Biosyn put in place. And shut down the Hunting Hollow….finally, put a stop to the Four Dinosaurs who they are likely targeting to revive that ultimate beast. The Quetzalcoatlus, Megalodon, Titanosaurus and Spinosaurus….Four of which are the four pillars which make up the DNA for the Ultima. (Inhales.) And the other three, which are all Dinosaurs found on Site C…..are the final creatures they need DNA from to awaken the absolute horror of the Ultima Saurus, Imperatrix Alpha one edition."
Alan Grant: "So we just shut those down, along with the lizards inside the Hollow…and you are saying we will then be able to destroy the Ultima Saurus?"
Ian Malcolm: "We better get moving now, from the sounds of things…Forget what I mentioned before."
Sara Harding: "Ian, stop….We still have to get more critical information to put an end to it too."
http / intheartofspace\./ com /wp-content/files/ Mayan-Shrine-Water-Area-Muldoon-Grant-Sattler-Malcolm-Owen-Others-View-Revival-Flame \./ jpg
Mayan Elder Escordio: "I can only tell you, get to those destinations and shut those powers down. (Inhales.) At that point, it will be very feasible to kill off the Ultima Saurus….and finally shut off access to this Island so you can evacuate in the Helicopter. You must concentrate first on your still mind….The more quiet you make your mind, the easier it will be to cancel the powers of that absolute monster…."
Ian Malcolm: "And so where is the Tyrannosaurus by now?"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "It is inside the Hunting Hollow. You must get moving now, Dr. Malcolm and get to the Hunting grounds. Use the compass to light a quick path through the Crypts. But get moving….things are getting very bad out there near the Prehistoric caves. And many, countless monsters have escaped."
Mayan Elder Escordio: "So I have done all I could do….Please get moving and prepare to venture forth. God be with you on your Journey, Dr. Grant. This is a forsaken place in the Mayan texts…"
Ellie Sattler: "Thank you, Elder."
Alan Grant: "Thank you….We couldn't have done all this without your help. (Inhales.) I will study the book you left on the table there, and we should get moving shortly. I hear the sound of civilizations.."
Ian Malcolm: "Knowing what we have witnessed, that is always a great sign Dr. Grant. I suggest we get moving over there soon….something tells me the murky water will get quite interesting…"
Mayan Elder Escordio: "Thank you Malcolm, Grant. I have shown you all I can show you. (He points towards the path up the ridge.) You must get moving into the Hunting Hollow, and remember what I said….Pay especially close attention to the water."
Alan Grant: "We will never forget your generosity and kindness. Thank you."
Owen Grady: "You have done great for us, thanks for your tips and wisdom too."
Ian Malcolm: "We will definitely be taking that advice…..hopefully not more than once."
Robert Muldoon: "Bloody hell, as long as we can get out of here I'm ready to roll out."
/Meanwhile, as the group of 9 adventurers headed out to the Hunting Hollow they could see something terrifying in the distance. A foreboding sense of dread crept over the group, as they glanced over the horizon towards the Eastern shores. There was a large, nearly abandoned Oil silo in the distance. And what's more, there was a strange haze…..an air so thick it covered many of the walls and fixtures across the Hollow. It was as if time itself was at a stand still during certain times, as they peered out over the canopy into this almost haunting scene of Jungle and dead wood which fell into the path dotting along the jungle's floor. There was something eerie and out of place about Hunting Hollow….aside from the alarms going off near the hillside terrace. It was as if something truly terrifying and out of place, amidst the tar soaked waters by the shore…was stalking them in silence.*
Alan Grant: "I know there's something truly awful out there….Kelly and Arby, will you kids be okay if Muldoon, as well as Malcom and myself go on ahead to check out the hills for dangers?"
Kelly: "I suppose….Dad you aren't going to….take very long, right?"
Ian Malcolm: (Looks at her with a shocking glare.) "Daughter, have I ever taken too long before? I mean sure, there's what appears to be a giant log filled with terrifying monsters down the ravine here…."
Ian Malcolm: "…And maybe there's the prospect of one of those massive Alligators…such as the Deinosuchus disrupting our little picnic….Plus we got water filled with purple tar it looks like, that is as sketchy as any type of downtown neighborhood in the Bronx…..But remember, we got a hunter with us."
Arby: "Oh, o.k. I see what you are saying. Hey is that a Titanosaurus in the distance there?" ((Arby stares over into the large, thick green wall of trees. He can just make out a giant long necked dinosaur in the distance…Which appears to be the fabled Titanosaurus, also often referred to as Ultra Saurus. It had decided to wade into the water nearby, but something was wrong. Grant looked upon it with shock and a hint of dread….What was it doing all the way out here, near where the Oil pumping station is? And there was an assortment of dead, decaying trees as well over on the other side of the hill side.))
Kelly: "But Dad, you promised it would never come to that…."
Alan Grant: "Not to worry Kelly…We won't be long. Ellie, I need to get over there now. Don't fret here….I won't take long I promise."
Ellie Sattler: "Of course but I'm going around the Cliff Side terrace over on the other side….There's something that doesn't feel right about this place." (She glares over at her watch, and motions for Sara Harding to quietly follow her down the path behind the East operations center.)
Ian Malcolm: "I guarantee all of you though, that's not as bad as say the Megalodon waiting over there on the other side….But we're almost off this Island, that I promise. And that is wonderful news!"
Robert Muldoon: "Bloody hell…Yes, Ian. And Owen I will meet you on the mountain top there as well to show you some hunting pointers. (He inhales gruffly.) Absolutely nothing is worse than a Megalodon.."
Claire Dearing: "What an absolute shocking sight…."
Owen Grady: "You folks, you make some very good points here….O.k. Claire, we should truly start checking out the terrain here. Wow, the Hunting Hollow area is truly enormous."
/Just then, the air grows frigid with a cold indifference. Up over the Eastern ravine the jungle seems to nestle further into the damp, fog ridden landscape that begins to turn over into many dozens of leaves and snow. The unsettling atmosphere is not helped at all by the cold, dark tunnels that seem to branch out into various expansions that meet themselves over in the side of the beach heads. There is something moving and stirring beneath the basin….yet it is as silent as a pin dropping. All except of course for something unusual, something large and quadrupedal…moving fast up a mysterious embankment that meets with the river over near the outer cave.*
Megalania Osoria: "RAAAAAAAAAAWWR! GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWR!" ((Right there, less than one hundred feet from the eastern slope is a massive Megalania hybrid crocodile like reptile. Its features are cold, calculating and lifeless. With its eyes, you see a truly narrow indifference creep out which showcases among its unapologetically sharp wilted jaw. It is moving across the landscape fairly fast, and Dr. Grant can just make out its features as he moves slowly down the crevasse towards the water.))
Alan Grant: "My god….Malcolm, don't attract the creature's attention. (He inhales.)"
Ian Malcolm: "What in the world…what is that?!"
Robert Muldoon: "Can't you folks tell what it is, for once!? It's a bloody giant Megalania…..Ancient relative of the Komodo Dragon. They are also supposed to be around five times as lethal at that, and I don't need to remind any of you this is the first time many of us have ever dealt with one."
Alan Grant: "That isn't exactly that comforting, is it Ian? Plus, this one looks to be almost 40 feet long."
Ian Malcolm: "God… (He hides behind the rock.) That massive, giant reptile is absolutely terrifying. Sara don't go near there or near the rocks. Good lord, it looks more terrifying from here than the T-Rex…"
Robert Muldoon: "In the first Paleozoic era, these creatures were said to kill T-Rexes. (Exhales.) This whole place gives me the creeps, it is dripping with mystery….and just a bit too much terror for my tastes. What's more, is these aren't really Dinosaurs….so I don't know if we can kill one of these the same way we kill everything else. There's definitely one of these Megalanias over there killing a group of Crocodiles…but then we even have the Spinosaurus loose in this area to be concerned with too."
Ian Malcolm: "What do you suggest? Billy, any ideas?"
Billy Brennan: "Well….The thing about these giant beasts, is the Megalania does have to eat and replenish its resources at a certain point. (Inhales.) If you can lure him out, and lure that creature away from the other monsters near the water….Perhaps with Dr. Harding helping us…Then we might also be able to lure it into a trap….And get it to come where we need it to come…"
Alan Grant: "How did you come up with that plan, Billy? Anyway, my concept is simple Ian. We lure the beast towards the river and into the water….By getting it attracted to the purple colors of the tar….if we can coax it to come over that way, and put proper detail behind the food this creature eats…We should be able to make sure it comes out past the corner of the river pond….and right in there, get it poisoned through its mistaken digestion of the tar. That tar is toxic to animals….even Dinosaurs."
Billy Brennan: "So by…luring it out there into the open, you think we can ensure it eats the tar?"
Ian Malcolm: "That wouldn't work Billy….So that can't be what he, Dr. Grant exactly has in mind."
Alan Grant: "Not quite…..I think if we move it to another area, and lure it out carefully….into its habitat where the tar is located…..Then if we keep moving the right direction here….(Inhales.)…and go further inland…We should be able to lure it out into the danger zone…where it will be stuck there."
Robert Muldoon: "And then drown it, Dr. Grant. I see now. Bloody brilliant….Did I mention what a master stroke that is?"
/They hear the Megalania monster's massive roar begin to shake the stage of the jungle. In the commotion, they slowly make their way across to the operations center knowing what lies ahead.*
Ian Malcolm: "Right, right…Don't get too excited yet folks. We still have to lure it out first. This won't be just as easy as open sesame….Not this time. Sara, you staying alright over there?"
Sara harding shouting in the distance: "Ian, you forget how many predators I have been around. (She skulks behind the rocks.) I have been handling them half my life…Don't get too concerned here. You guys just focus on your plan….the rest of us will be doing what we must do to get through this deadly place."
Ian Malcolm: "That's what I was afraid of…."
Alan Grant: "I guess that's our signal to get started….O.k., help me bring out the broken branches. I have a pretty good idea of how to get animals to start moving in the direction I want…."
Fade out on the Hunting Hollow near the large Hotel that oversees the cliff at night. It was cold, musky and dirty in the midnight air. Yet in spite of all this it was oddly tranquil, and there was a good atmosphere of discovery and wisdom flowing through the trees among the grove. The air quietly nestled into the very wispy, foggy skies which dotted the southern canopy under a flurry of amazing stars. Perhaps this is nearing the end of their journey, but every step along the way was an adventure. None of the group, particularly Robert Muldoon, were going to forget that from this day forward.*
To be Continued….*
