Prompt: "This is the first and last time I am giving you permission to punch through the walls."

"Well, I'd say that that was unfortunate timing for me. And I'll also say that this is the first and last time I will give you permission to try to punch through the walls."

Colonel Baird scoffed as she shook out her hand and looked over at Ra, who stood off to the side with her arms crossed. "I don't believe that I asked you for permission to do anything."

The Archivist smirked slightly and shrugged as Jenkins joined the two women. They were all standing just outside of the Annex at that moment, taking a little break from the chaos within. Ra turned to the man. "They staying out of trouble in there?"

"For the most part. Though it will be better still when all of you are out of my space."

Ra rolled her eyes, but she didn't have time to respond as Baird spoke quietly. "I need Flynn to pull it together. I'm too new to this world and I gather that neither of you really go out in the field."

"Not really, but I know the basics."

Jenkins sighed. "Well, then you need to go and pull him together. You're his Guardian. That means more than merely keeping him alive. It means to keep him in one piece, both mentally and physically."

Baird scoffed again as she crossed her arms and looked away from them. "Didn't do a great job of that."

Ra wasn't having any of this. "Oh, boo. So, he got stabbed. Librarians get stabbed, shot, bitten, cursed, you name it, all the time."

"He's gonna die. Soon."

The Archivist groaned and threw her arms up in exasperation as Jenkins put a hand on her shoulder before he spoke. "We're all gonna die soon if you don't get in there. Now, look, guardian. If he fell into a river, you would reach in and pull him out, yes? Before he could drown."

Baird didn't seem to be grasping what Jenkins was getting at, but Ra did immediately. "Exactly. Now, Judson was quite literally everything to Flynn for years, as was Charlene. To lose them both, and the Library, now? He is quite literally drowning at the moment. Call it grief or whatever emotion you want, but it's till drowning him."

Jenkins nodded before looking the Guardian square in the eye. "So, go save him."
