The Broken Boosted Gear

By Try Another Time

Many deployment capsules descended all across the land, each bearing a team ready to eliminate any enemies that crossed their paths. Enemy devils and their associates watch in surprise as the spearheads pierce the skies alongside the appearance of the Unicorn.

The massive ship, led by Athena, appeared alongside the capsules before pointing its powerful cannons at the enemy ships. Athena, clothed from head to toe in her armor, appeared on the deck before pointing her spear at the targets.

"Fire all weapons!" After hearing her shout, all weapons available fire against the enemy ships.

The energy blast pierced many of the ships, some of which started to implode from within while others were forced to take evasive maneuvers as the Unicorn was getting ready for a second series of shots.

Athena stared at Avalon, which was attacked from all sides by endless enemy forces. Yet her attention was quickly drawn to a much-concerning presence within the city.

In the distance, Athena watches as a sizeable malignant figure emerges from within Avalon. Its body is massive and comparable in size to Fenrir, but once it shoots into the sky like a supersonic meteor, Athena knows that it will come for her ship.

"Go to the capital." A feminine voice says as it appears next to Athena.

"We'll take care of this one. You can take care of those still inside." A second voice joins in.

Athena looked at her allies; Tiamat stood on her right side while Thor stood on her left side. Behind the three of them were many of the troops from the Alliance and many of their strongest members.

Be it light elves, humans, devils, angels, dark elves, fallen angels, children of the Nile, and many others, all knew the purpose for which they had come to this land.

Athena nods. "Mine troops, follow me!" Athena shouts before she runs and jumps from the deck of the ship. Alongside her, Azazel, Sirzechs, and many others do the same.

Their whole team was composed of at least 100 members who weren't even a bit afraid of the forces that awaited them on the surface.

"Damn, here they come!" Azazel shouts as the enemies on the surface open fire against them.

"Behind me!" Athena lifts her shield, which starts to release waves of lavender energy that create a barrier around her and the entire team. "None shall fall today."

Everyone smiles as the enemy attacks are blocked with ease.

"Get ready, everyone. We're going directly for Avalon. Don't stop until we eliminate every single one of these bastards!" Sirzechs tells the group as he transforms into his proper devil form.

As soon as the team reaches the ground, they find themselves surrounded on all sides by thousands of enemy forces.

Athena drops her barrier, and everyone rushes out with the intention of striking any enemy who dared oppose them.

Azazel spreads his wings, and like a malignant crow, he starts to slay any enemy on his path. His left arm transforms into a metallic claw that seems too big for his body, but the fallen angel shows zero difficulties as the claw crushes and cuts any enemies in his path.

One could hear the crunching sounds as any unlucky enemies who weren't fast enough were crushed under its unbearable strength.

His black armor is quickly stained by the blood of its adversaries.

" Don't blame me for not offering any mercy to any of you. You sealed your fates by daring to invade someone else's home." Azazel told himself as he smirked under his helmet.

While Azazel showed them why he was feared as the most feared fallen angel, Sirzechs and his peerage wasted no time in demonstrating why they were the top peerage.

Sirzechs, wielding his dark trident, created a path of carnage and destruction. His attacks crushed anyone who dared oppose him or his peerage. His movements matched his demonic appearance, as he seemed more like a beast craving the souls of his enemies.

He would impale an enemy while it was screaming in pain before imploding its body from within due to the destructive power he injected into each of his adversaries.

" I can feel the blood of my brethren within many of you, but none of you are true devils. Sadly, you're just pawns for 'him' to use and discard as he sees fit, pawns without a will or a real soul. Killing you is the only mercy I can offer." Sirzechs thought as he continued to slay any enemy on their path.

Athena continued to lead the charge; her team made impressive progress as they approached the city, pushing the enemy forces away from their goal. In a matter of seconds, hundreds fell to her spear and powers as the goddess demonstrated her might in the midst of conflict.

Broken statues of enemies felt one after the other as her shield turned many to stone before Athena's allies easily destroyed the statues. There was no mercy in her or her allies' eyes, as those before them were less than worthy of said mercy.

And sadly, her view was proven right as they dashed past Avalon's broken gates.

As soon as the team made its way inside, they bore witness to the atrocities caused by their enemies. The city that was once embraced and protected by the massive castle now lay in flames and ruins as the invaders destroyed anything in their path.

The streets were packed with the bodies of fairies, orcs, highlanders, and many of the denizens of the realm.

"Madness…" Athena felt nauseous at the sight of so many corpses, yet she held it together as she saw that survivors remained deeper inside the city as they tried to fight back the enemy forces. "None shall get away from their sins!"

Athena dashed forward as she determined her next targets alongside her team.

It was time for retribution.

Meanwhile, Tiamat and Thor.

While Athena made her way into the city, Tiamat and Thor focused on the massive beast running across the sky as if gravity was just a mere suggestion.

"How do you want to do this? Should I take care of that bastard or go after the remaining enemy ships?" Thor asks the dragoness as he cracks his neck. His expression showed complete coldness as he tried to control the anger he felt at the sight of so much destruction.

His daughter and the remaining team members awaited their orders while glaring at the massive beast approaching them.

"You and I can take care of that beast; your daughter and Tannin can take the remaining ships down," Tiamat said as her body was engulfed by azure flames before she transformed. Her dragon form was now covered by metallic armor pieces, which offered defense while not obstructing her movements.

Thor nodded as he turned to his daughter and Tannin. "Go and make sure none of them get away."

Thrúd nods as she summons one of her goats and rides off alongside Tannin and the remaining forces, thus leaving Tiamat and Thor by themselves. The pair watched as their enemy finally reached them.

A four-legged beast straight from the pages of a Chinese mythology book slowly walked around them while defying gravity. Its size fell a few meters off from matching Tiamat's size, yet it was still large enough for any creature. Its body was covered by orange and pale green scales alongside some patches of orange hair. Four horns sat on its horrific face, which resembled a demonic lion mixed with characteristics of a baboon. A second, much smaller human face sat atop its main face, and its crimson eyes seemed to glare at the duo.

"Of all the beasts and evil creatures around the realms, you and your kind are the ones that were bound to fit the bill for these kinds of actions. Taotie, of the four evils, is creating chaos in your homeland not enough anymore? Now, you seek to spread your influence to other places. Your maliciousness knows no limits." Thor shouts as he points his hammer at the beast.

The main face of Taotie growls while its second face smirks with pure malice. "I'm guilty of seeking greater heights, and this is just a continuation of what started centuries ago. The conflict between pantheons gave me plenty of food to try, but the cease-fire made it hard for me to feast on the delicacies of so many races. I can't just continue feasting on the denizens of the Jade realm. The flavors across the tree belong to me, and if harvesting souls will allow me to taste the flesh of other realms, I won't miss-"

Taotie doesn't get to finish as a massive electric attack descended upon his location. The beast dashed away, but Tiamat and Thor were already in hot pursuit as they attacked the beast.

"You won't get away," Tiamat shouts as she releases the chains around her wrists before igniting and using them to capture Taotie.

The beast tries to get away, but the chains don't budge.

"I will make you pay for those lives you consume!" Thor screams as he lands a devastating attack with his hammer, which impacts the head of the beast.

Taotie's body is sent to the ground, and as soon as it impacts, a large crater forms.

Tiamat and Thor watch attentively, expecting the worst, and sadly, their assumptions are proven right as Taotie gets up. The damage its body receives seems minimal as a laugh from the beast gains the annoyance of Tiamat and Thor.

"Is that all you have? That won't be near enough to fill me up!" Taotie remarks as he glares at the pair.

"It ate the damage. I despise that stupid ability." Thor says as a halo appears on his back.

"There must be a limit on how much damage it can consume. No ability is flawless." Tiamat argues as she touches the left side of her face. "Michael, we might need your support. Be ready to shoot a target down with your strongest attack. We're hunting a mut who eats more than it can chew."

"Roger. I'll be ready; just give me the coordinates." Michael replies.

"We're going to push him to the limit, Thor. Don't restrain yourself." Tiamat says.

Thor nods as he understands the plan.

Taotie grins as his main face opens fire with a malignant energy blast. The blackened-orange energy seems to erode and consume everything on its path, as the flora around the crater dies out just by being near the area of the source.

Tiamat and Thor evade the attack before they rush forward to meet their adversary on the surface. Another fight had begun.

In another area of the realm.

Asia and other teams continued to eliminate any enemy forces that they found on their path while also rescuing any survivors. The young exorcist had to remain calm as her team held a growing number of survivors who rushed to join them as the enemy forces destroyed any buildings or places the denizens of the realm could use to hide.

" This has no place for forgiveness. How can they do this?" Asia thought as she continued to open fire. Each shot was precise and lethal as she targeted the heads and cores of any enemies she saw while moving across the battlefield.

Her eyes couldn't forgive the amount of destruction she had to witness, but she continued to push the anger away as the task at hand required her mind to be clear.

"Kuroka, deploy a portal and transport the survivors away from this area. Shirone, cover your sister while she takes care of it. Rias and Akeno, break their defenses while the rest follow you. I'll offer cover." Asia ordered like a seasoned leader as she analyzed the entire field before her in a matter of seconds.

Everyone nods as the groups change positions and move forward while covering their openings with their limited numbers.

They were losing in terms of numbers, but in terms of power and coordination, they had the advantage of a unified front that didn't rush into things.

Rias and Akeno demonstrated the devastating damage their powers could cause as thousands of enemies felt the crimson lighting attacks and the devilish blast of energy, which didn't leave many corpses to recover. It was a match made in hell as the unusual duo complimented each other without losing their rivalry.

One could hear them inciting each other not to fall behind as they crushed any enemies in front of them.

Some thought that they could quickly eliminate them by getting closer, but Rias and Akeno destroyed any attempt as they demonstrated that they weren't mere powerhouses that lacked close-quarters options. Be it due to their summons or their hand-to-hand combat; neither seemed to lack the ability to succeed as they pushed further into enemy territory, with their allies following closely behind.

Liv was the closest to them, alongside Ravel, as she took care of the outer perimeter with Sieg, who offered a quick way of rescuing survivors in need. Ravel offered immediate aid before dropping them off near Kuroka, who offered support and transported them to a safe location.

The older nekomata didn't look the same anymore. She was a young adult dressed in a black armored kimono that befitted her charming yet deadly appearance. A mask covered the lower half of her face while her eyes remained as sharp as they came.

Her younger sibling didn't stay the same either, as she grew much taller than before but still remained shorter than many within her 'family.' A white armored kimono covered her body, but she focused on close quarters instead of using spells and long-range support like her sister. Her arms were covered by ethereal white flames that took the shape of tiger claws, which she used to slay any enemies into millions of pieces. Her claws had the unusual ability to stretch long distances while she continued to move like a wild beast as she covered her sister.

"Take this!" A voice shouts as a large blue blade cuts through several bodies as if they were nothing more than pieces of butter.

"Left flank, Xenovia." A second voice said.

"Got it, Ross," Xenovia replies as she spins her body with inhuman mobility before she goes after her next targets. Her armor was covered in filth and blood as she cared not for being clean. Xenovia knew her mission, and right now, the scent of blood wasn't going to stop her from slaying all the 'beasts' before her.

Ross was in a similar state as her entire body was now covered in crimson. She stayed close to Xenovia while also keeping an eye on all the group members. As one of the adults around, she couldn't ignore the chances of these young members being injured, but as she witnessed their abilities, she couldn't help but feel proud of how far they had come.

" Ddraig, you'll be proud of how much they have grown. This generation was inspired by you and many others. Now, they can fight alongside us." Ross thought as she used her bladed tonfas to eliminate any enemy that dared to face her while also using an array of spells. Be it spells that increase the gravity around her targets or spells that freeze them from within, Rossweisse had all her sides covered, but then her Ymir eye started to twitch as if something dangerous was approaching.

As Ross looked around, her cousin Liv turned to her as she had the same issue. Both cousins hated the reasons why they had gained such eyes, but neither could ignore the benefits they had gained due to them.

" Ross, this might get bad."

"We need to trust the kids. We'll support them, and if necessary, we'll risk our lives to give them a way out."

The cousins nodded as their eyesight turned towards a certain direction near Rias and Akeno's area.

Liv touches her left ear. "Rias, Akeno. Enemies are approaching your area. Be ready to engage. Everyone else needs to be ready to move out to support them. Asia, you know what to do."

Everyone's eyes turned to Rias and Akeno before four figures descended near the area in which both girls were located.

The four figures were covered in cloaks, which concealed their appearances. The arrivals seemed to scan the area before splitting and rushing after their targets, disregarding everything else.

One targeted Rias, another Akeno, the third went after Xenovia, and finally, the fourth seemed to target Asia.

Akeno and Rias quickly engaged their new opponents while Ross blocked the mysterious enemy with her tonfas as it sought to reach Xenovia.

The final one seemed the most dangerous as its target was Asia. Although others tried to block its path, the mysterious enemy evaded them and pushed on until it reached her.

Asia's POV.

Asia quickly reacted as she used the cannon of her weapon to block the initial attack before aiming and shooting a few shots at a close distance.

The enemy evaded the shots with almost animalistic reflexes as it dashed away before stopping.

Asia touched her left ear a few times as she gave silent orders to her team.

"Not asking for help? How curious? You're not matching my expectations." The mysterious figure said as a blackened blade stretched out from beneath its cloak.

"... Who are you?" Asia asks as she tries to analyze her enemy.

"Oh, are you not one for mysteries?" The figure asks.

"Not at all. Especially if it involves an enemy that went after my head, but I'll tell you this right now. Only one of us is walking away alive, and that is not going to be you." Asia said as she put her rifle on her back and summoned a pair of silver daggers. Her suit started to glow as the output increased.

"Alright, I like that straightforward attitude. Seems like the files weren't as accurate as I thought." The figure removes its cloak before it reveals a man, a 'human' man around his 40s with ashen hair and a disgusting third-degree burn that covered the left side of his face. An amber futuristic suit seemed to cover each corner of its body, but it had something weird. Small tubes transfert a mysterious black liquid across its body, and the way the vessels around his face seemed to pop didn't inspire any confidence in Asia.

The man lifts his blade as it points at Asia. "Years ago, a certain whore left an orphanage under the catholic church alongside an enemy of God, a dragon, one of the biggest sinners. That moment set a chain of events that led to this scar I carry and to the destruction of the church I believed in. My name is Mariano Farina, a former exorcist of the Catholic church, and I want your head, Asia, the whore of Welsh."

Mariano rushes forward, and his blackened blade clashes with Asia's daggers.

Asia's helmet hides her expression, but beneath it, she can't help but glare at the man with distaste. "A survivor of the fake church, a lamb who followed a corrupted organization. I never expected to meet your kind in this realm, especially with the enemies of the tree."

"Corrupted organization? You dared to call our glorious and holy church that?" Mariano pushes on as the suit increases his power.

Asia doesn't seem affected as she holds her ground before she analyzes her opponent and easily breaks his stance before kicking him across the ribs.

Mariano spins across the floor due to the impressive strength behind Asia's kick but recovers with a grin across his face. "Oh, my. The information wasn't accurate. It seems that you won't be easy to take down, but I'm willing to risk it. I lacked the strength to take the Welsh dragon down, but you are more than worthy to hurt him to the core. He took you all those years ago, and it didn't seem like you left his side. His little human whore dying will be a way to punish his sin, the destruction of our church."

Asia doesn't seem amused as she listens to him. "Then come and meet your destiny. I, Asia Colombo, will offer you a swift death. The Welsh Dragon is no saint, but I will choose him every time instead of an entity like the church you praise so much. Those who tried to hide the sun with lies will continue to ignore their sins."

"You whore!" Mariano goes in the attack again, and thus, another fight begins.

Xenovia and Ross POV.

Both girls engaged the mysterious enemy, surprised at its strength. It wielded a golden ax twice its size. Its attacks were fast and relentless, and it pushed both to be careful.

"That strength is far from normal. Just who are you?" Xenovia asked the mysterious enemy as she pushed back with her sword.

"... Your strength is doesn't fall behind. You're just what I'm looking for. Someone worthy to be my side as I seek to avenge our forefathers. Join me, child of Enkidu." A masculine voice replies.

His reply confuses Xenovia as she tries to make sense of it, but Rossweisse doesn't waste time around, so she starts using her spells to take their adversary down. The mysterious man creates distance as he senses the danger of the multiple spells that are coming.

He tries to evade all of them, but some reach him until they destroy his cloak.

Xenovia and Rossweisse watched as a man who seemed to be in his early 20s, with literal hair made of gold and eyes as bright as the sun itself, stood before them while wearing a full golden set of armor and jewels that defined his status as part of royalty.

"My name is Gilgamesh the 3rd, and I seek you, the descendant of my ancestor's best friend. Join me, and we shall eliminate that despicable goddess who took Enkidu away from us." Gil III says as he stretches his hand to Xenovia.

Xenovia is silent as Rossweisse's instincts tell her that the man before her is too dangerous to let Xenovia alone. His words don't help to ease the tension either, as Rossweisse fears the worst, but then something happens.

"Hahahaha." Xenovia starts to laugh.

Rossweisse and Gil III look at her with confusion.

Xenovia shakes her head as she laughs a bit more before she recovers. The young exorcist turns her attention towards Gil III. "You know, my cousin and I talked to Enkidu before. It was rather unique to get the chance to speak to such a legendary figure; although he lacks a proper body, we learned one thing from him." Xenovia raises her sword as her horns start to glow. "The past is the past, and the present is ours to decide. Sadly for you, I respect Lady Ereshkigal and will never join anyone who dares to threaten her life. So come and meet your maker by my hand, golden boy."

Rossweisse can't help but smirk at the determination of Xenovia. "Let's do this."

Gil III doesn't look amused as he listens to Xenovia's rejection. "I hoped for a peaceful solution, but it seems that I will have to do it the hard way. Very well, I'll make you submit to my will. I won't take no for an answer now that I found a descendant of Enkidu like you."

Another fated duel had just started.

Rias and Akeno POV.

The attacks of their adversaries were relentless, and neither of them was playing around as their bodies dashed to evade while also attacking these mysterious individuals. Their summons helped them, but that didn't remove the fact that they weren't like any other enemy they had faced since the mission began.

Their familiars finally locked their enemies in place, and neither wasted time as they dashed away.

As they created some distance, they looked at each other from the corner of their eyes before coming up with a plan. They wouldn't allow anyone to crush them as if they were newbies without any experience or training.

They had pushed themselves to the limit, and their teachers had ensured that they had the tools necessary to defeat anyone who dared oppose them. As long as they stood together, no enemy was too strong or mountain too big to climb.

Rias and Akeno locked their hands together briefly before releasing each other. As their hands grew apart, a new magic circle appeared between them. The circle seemed to combine their personal magic circles until they created a new one.

" Great Dragon that dominates power that rivals the gods, come now and offer us your blessing. Offer us your grace and eliminate any who opposes us. Heard this guilty desire of ours!"

The girls chanted in silence before something started to manifest. By fusing their powers into one, Rias and Akeno began to recreate the head of the strongest being they knew. The one they acknowledge as the strongest and the only one capable of making the impossible into reality: Ddraig, the Welsh Dragon.

A large head manifested, using them as eyes before it began charging a devastating attack that was aimed at the mysterious opponents.

The cloaked figures tried to escape, but the familiars didn't let them, and before long, their fates were sealed as the dragon head opened fire.

A large beam of energy that combined holy and devil power blasted a large area into nothingness, seeking to erase any opponents in its wake.

After the attack was done, the head started to disappear, and the girls seemed proud of the result as they thought that the fight was over, but their smiles quickly disappeared as the dust began to settle.

Two cacoons made from devil wings dissolved into nothingness, revealing a sight that surprised Rias the most. Two figures arise with multiple injuries. Some looked worse than others, but one could tell that they would survive and even worse, ready to continue to attack.

"This can't be real!" Rias argued as she saw the faces of her adversaries.

Akeno saw it as well and understood her reaction. "She…. looks like you."

One figure was almost a vivid image of Rias, although a bit older, while the figure next to her had jet-black hair and amber eyes that shined like gems.

"... Targets seemed to be much stronger than we expected, 067-Malphas." The female that resembled Rias said with an emotionless tone.

"Affirmative, 029-Gremory. We might need to readjust our parameters. Shall we continue our tests?" 067-Malphas asks with an almost robotic voice.

"Affirmative." 029-Gremory replies before it raises its hand and creates a devil magic circle, a vivid copy of the Gremory crest.

Rias grins her teeth as she sees this. "You dared to copy my family's crest? I shall not forgive this despicable action! Akeno, we'll bury them on this land at all costs."

Akeno smirked as she understood the anger behind Rias's words. "Let's eliminate these second-hand clones. I won't accept anyone else with your stupid face, Rias."

Another duel for the ages had just begun.

Finally, back with Tosca and her team.

*Shiro Sagisu- This is the dream*

With many corpses as a trail, Tosca and her team finally reached their targets. The young dragoness was disgusted as she saw the carnage her target had caused.

The lives they had taken as if they meant nothing.

As she reached a destroyed village with her team, her eyes met those of a human full of pride and ambition.

"Oh, it seems we have visitors." A youngster no much older than her said as he wielded a spear that exuded holy energy. The youngster turned to her, smiling as he analyzed her from head to toe. "Who might you be?"

Tosca's eyes turned cold as her eyes met the smiling expression on the human before her. "Sergeant of the Alliance and Special Agent 7, Tosca Welsh is my name," Tosca said with a cold tone as she lifted her arm.

The coiled spear seemed to react to her determination as it moved until it recovered its shape, although incomplete.

"Under the orders of the Alliance, I have come to execute you, Cao Cao, for your crimes against this realm. I will give you a swift and painless death." Tosca said as she pointed her spear at Cao Cao.

Her words are cold, and the weight behind them matches a true dragon's determination.

Vali and Isaiah stand by her as they analyze the three allies who stood alongside Cao Cao, one of which quickly drew Isaiah's attention.

Cao Cao continues to smile as he faces Tosca. "Oh, a challenge, I see. Heroes must face any challenges life places before them, and I can tell you will be a worthy challenge. Have at you and come at me with your best. May our fight be worthy of raising my legend even higher for the sake of true humanity."

In this land far away from Earth, many faced impressive challenges and fated duels, and Tosca was one of them as she finally met the one that would likely be her nemesis until one was no longer breathing.

The prideful Cao Cao, who claimed to be a hero amongst heroes, and Tosca, the Firstborn of Welsh and Aegis Dragon, had finally met, thus putting the gears of time in motion towards the unwritten future few had witnessed in a long-forgotten 'dream.'

"It was always fated to be, wasn't it?"
