When he awoke, the first thing he felt was terrible pain. He heard some conversations coming from all around him, but could only make out certain words.

"-Needs godhood."

"-Almost died."

"-Poseidon would have destroyed-"

"-Who would fight for us?"

It came to an abrupt stop when he opened his eyes.

He was in a hospital room of some sort. As his eyes scanned around the room, he saw Apollo, Hermes, his father and a few other gods whose names he couldn't recall. Olympus then, he thought.

"Gave us quite the scare there bro, but I'm too awesome to let you die." Apollo said with a smile, but his tone betrayed how shook he was. Percy could only offer a half smile.

"How do you feel?" Poseidon asked, worry etched all over his face.

"Like I've been trampled over by a herd of elephants." Percy responded with a grimace.

"What happened Perce?" Hermes asked with a frown.

Percy had to think. "One minute I was walking in the woods, and the next I was bleeding everywhere. What happened to me?"

"We were hoping you'd know man," Apollo said, "I got your prayer and found you with a knife in your back. A moment later and you'd dead man. Rest up, we'll assess you tomorrow." He smiled and flashed out, and the rest of the gods their followed suit. Once everyone was gone, he fell into a slumber.

He was running through a beautiful lush forest. He looked to his side and Apollo was next to him with a grin on his face. He heard a laugh from behind him and he saw a girl, no older than twenty, chasing after them. She had auburn hair, and her silver eyes were filled with mirth. Artemis. Percy's eyes widened and he doubled his efforts, trying to sprint away from the goddess but his efforts were for naught. He tripped over a tree root and went tumbling to the ground. This is it, he thought. But Artemis kept chasing after Apollo, the two seemingly not realising he was there. A memory, he realised. He ran after them, joy spreading through him at the sight of his best friend playing with his sister. What happened to them, he thought.

The memory soon changed. They were back in the forest, but this time Apollo had a look of angry on his face. They were a few years older and Artemis was shouting at her brother. Percy couldn't make out what the words being said were, but judging the look on Apollo's face, they weren't friendly.

Once again, the memory changed, and Percy was looking at Artemis and a stranger this time. A man. He raised any eyebrow. The man hating goddess walking with a man. Percy walked in front of them and almost fainted. The man looked just like him. Sure, Percy may have been shorter and less muscular, but they had both had the same hair and the same eyes. Even their skin was similar, although Percy had to admit he had the better tan than this stranger.

The memory changed to Artemis and the stranger sitting by a fire, shoulders close together, talking the night away.
It showed the man sneaking out of the camp and spending the night with various mortal women, before heading back to camp as if nothing happened.

It changed to Artemis and the man holding hands through the woods, a look of wonder plastered on her face as she stared at the man. It showed him leaning in towards her, with nothing but bad intentions in his mind before an arrow sprouted out of his chest.

It showed Artemis' despair and anguish, which changed to fury as she looked around and saw Apollo standing at the top of a cliff, bow outstretched with a look of resignation on his face. Artemis put the man in the stars before flashing to Apollo to tear him apart, but he had already flashed away. Orion, Percy realized.

The memory changed to Artemis' reaction when she learned Orion had decided her, and was just like all the other men she had a vendetta against. It showed her betrayal and her anger when she realised she had immortalised him in the stars forever.

It showed him her encounters with every male since. Her numerous pointless murders, turning innocent men into jackalopes, maiming men who dared to disrespect her, until finally, it showed him.

Her disgust that he took the sky from her, thinking her to be weak. His refusal of godhood, making a mockery of the gods. The stories she'd heard about his escapades with her disgusting brothers.

And finally, dropping girls off to the hunt, as if she wasn't able to recruit them herself and needed a man to do it for her.

Twas safe to say, Percy woke up a very confused demigod.
