Back when the island was whole, this was a land known as Eaglend; a refuge for birds. The kingdom loved their birds, and the king and queen were just as about it. They hoped for an heir; a strong king that could rule this land. But they were disappointed when they had a daughter instead. "Perhaps she'll marry a nice man Henry..." the queen said, putting hope in their child. "I don't know... something is off about her Catherine..."
As Mary grew up, she did everything to impress her father, but he never even cared about her. But she kept going, trying and trying. One day, when she was fifteen, she overheard something from the throne room. "Those damned bird watchers... they're trying to scare the flocks off! But I just can't do anything about it!" Mary saw an opportunity, and started smiling brightly. 'I have this father! I'll make you really proud of me!' She ran off, heading outside of the castle. "These bird watch guys... they're upsetting daddy. If I stop them, he'll finally recognize me as his daughter!" She skipped as she headed down to the city of Begben, beginning her search there. At the dock, a cruise ship pulled up, dropping off various tourists. They all started pooling into the city, taking in all the sights. But Mary noticed one particular group heading into the forest; forbidden by law.
She followed them from afar, and noticed as the group reached a make-shift house made of sticks and wood. 'Woah, these guys are really serious...' she thought, noting the sheer quantity of binoculars and telescopes around the area. It clearly saw alot of human activity, as the grass here was flattened and dying. These people just wanted to make money off of pictures of birds, not caring about the environment. She watched as people started coming out, and noticed just how many there were; at least 200 or more. 'No wonder the birds are getting scared away...'
She made her way over to the base, knocking on its door. A rather big man opened it, and Mary looked up at him smiling innocently. "Hello sir~ I'm Princess Mary, and I was wondering, do you guys sell the pictures?" The man was defensive hearing princess, but once he heard sell he looked quite fine. "Why, isn't the king mad at us?" She shook her head, "No, in fact he sent me. Bring everyone, and we'll all discuss it with him~" The man got all the group together, grabbing all the pictures they currently had, and followed the princess to the kingdom.
That night, a bright light coming from the castle's huge wooden coliseum woke the king and queen. "Sire! The arena has been set ablaze!" a guard informed, barging in. Henry rushed outside, and ran for the barn. 'Is this an attack!? Those bird watchers have been getting ballsy but if this is an attack from them I can legally fight them back!' His thoughts are stopped as once he was close enough, he could hear the screams. He got in view of the coliseum's front entrance, and saw Mary in front of it, holding a lit torch. He could hear banging from the locked doors. "Mary!? What did you do!?" She turned to him, smiling brightly, "I got them all father. All of those bird watcher guys. I told them you were coming to see their stuff so they waited inside, and I burned them~" He stumbled back, looking in horror at his daughter, as she walked towards him, opening her arms. He crawled back frantically, "S-stay away! You monster!" She stopped, her eyes beginning to water, "I did it for you father... aren't you proud of me..?"
She was banished, but the deaths weren't able to be silenced. The families of the victims of Bloody Mary cried out for justice, demanding the kingdom pay, and the government responded with a Buster Call; raining down cannon fire upon the entire region with a dozen battleships. The damage was so severe, the island cracked apart and drifted. The event was swept under the rug as an earthquake for the public, and Mary was the only survivor. As she floated in a small rowless boat for days, she just watched as her home was destroyeda big black ship passed by, picking her up.
"So... you just wanted to be noticed my child..?" a man asked her, his purple eyes shining through the dark of the captains quarters. "But... he just looked at me... in fear..." she responded. He leaned forward, "Forget your father, he was but a fool. I can see what you've done, and I will say I see someone who makes the choices of a pirate..." he pulls out a small red plum, swirly designs patterning it. He smiled a crooked smile as he offered it to her, rubbing her head as she looked up in awe. "I myself, am very proud of you." Her eyes sparkled, and he stood. "I am Velur. Would you like to become a queen of the seas?"
