Years ago, a family of three pirates; the father, mother, and son, had ruled over the starting area in The New World with an iron claw, as they each had Ancient Zoan powers that dominated the competition. "Shit! It's the Ship Rex!" the look out of a simple pirate crew called out. The Ship Rex were strange as they didn't have a ship. A huge aquatic dinosaur with a long snout filled with teeth swam towards the pirates, its tail pushing it through the sea as a massive sail on its back broke the water. It pulled up to the pirates and with two huge clawed arms, grabbed onto it and pulled it up a bit. "What'cha morsels doin' out here?~" it asked with a scratchy feminine voice, laughing as two more pirates jumped off her back. The dinosaur then jumped up, looking to land on the ship.
Everyone but the Ship Rex panicked, and as she fell she shifted into a dark red haired girl sporting an afro, and with a few flips she stuck the landing. "T-that's Savage Spino and Tyrannical Rex!" the captain cried out, falling back. The man sported a slick goatee, and he lifted the captain up by the face. "And you have something of interest don't you?~" Rex chuckled, smiling deviously as the third guy headed below deck. "If ya find it down there Akio, jus eat it!" Spino called out, and Akio kicked down the door. It was only food inside. "No Devil Fruit on this one either..." he sighed, walking back up to the two. "Well ya know how rare they can be," Spino said as she jumped off ship. Akio followed her as Rex started to chuckle, shifting into a mighty tyrannosaurus and completely crashing through the ship. He laughed as he fell into the water, shifting back to human and sink before Spino swam down turned herself into her spinosaurus form, catching him on her sail and surfacing. Akio swam over and jumped on the sail. "Maybe I could get an Angel Fruit like mom," Akio said out loud, making them laugh.
A navy vessel was passing through, heading towards the World Castle; the home of the five leaders of the entire world; The Five Elders. They had gained possession of a black Devil Fruit covered in scales like a dragon's, but more ancient. It wasn't long before a Spinosaurus suddenly grabbed the ship and pulled it back. The marines attempted to retaliate, but their larger ship ment Spino could board without turning back to human, and Rex flipped off her back with a confident smirk. The captain on board scoffed, shifting his body into that of a hippo hybrid. He charged in, but Rex quickly shifted into his own hybrid form, smacking the man with his tail. Akio snuck into the store room, and found the box they were after. He opened it, and immediately took a bite from the fruit that rested inside, his eyes taking on a yellow look as he did.
"It was perfect! The Ship Rex will now be a three man team known across the world once this power becomes well known," Rex said, patting Akio's back proudly once they found a bar. "I just wish I got that one..." he continued, and Spino laughed. "Boy you got the frickin' T-Rex one," she said, and he scoffed. "Akio gets a huge one though! His dino was like, 40 feet or something!" he cried, and she shrugged. "I'm just glad we get to stay as a team..." Akio sighed, and the other two laughed as they hugged as a family. "Even if you turned into a sloth, you are apart of our crew my son~" Rex said, Spino nodding in agreement. Akio smiled, hugging them back. "We got a good journey ahead of us," Rex chuckled, getting up from the table. "We gotta get way tougher from here on out!" he exclaimed, pounding his chest. "Tyrannical Rex is gonna be the next Pirate King after all!~"
Rex went out to train his forms over the next month, but something was off one night. He always returned before the sun set, but tonight he's been gone hours after darkness set. "I'm sure he's ok, might be an intense workout," Spino said, but Akio could see the worry on her face. The ground rumbled a bit, as if heavy footsteps were approaching. Akio ran outside, seeing the T-Rex walking towards them. He waved, but quickly noticed something was wrong; he walked heavily, and his teeth were bared, drool falling from his mouth. "Dad..?" Akio asked, but looking into his eyes; which usually stayed like Rex's human eyes, only to find those of a wild beast. Rex chomped down at Akio, but Spino had ran out, pushing him to the side. She screamed as he tore her arm off, guzzling it down as he went for a second bite, only for Spino to shift and latch her jaws on his neck, pushing him back. But he quickly overpowered her, kicking her legs out from under her before grabbing her by her neck, and suplexing the Spinosaurus over himself, smashing her into the ground with a hearty snap.
"M-mom..?" Akio stuttered, still in shock over the whole thing. But that shock was replaced with rage as he watched Rex start eating her. "You... IT'S THE DAMN ZOAN POWER ISN'T IT!?" he yelled, black scales covering his body as he takes on a dinosaur shape, but he was massive. His snout was rather short, and his back was decorated with spiked dorsal plates that led into the tail. Nearly twice Rex's size, he easily smacked Rex off and grabbed his face, and tried to reason with his father, but only got his arm nearly bit off. Akio pulled open the jaws, and just continued pulling, ripping his fathers jaw off. Akio fell back, turning back into a human. He looked at his bloody hands, and tears began to fall from his face. Over the years, he found many more accounts of Zoan users losing their minds, and now in the present, he's convinced they are all threats that need to be put down. "Harmony... I swear I won't let that zoan hurt you..." he promised himself, walking through the golden trees of Golden Egg. He didn't know where their ship was, but he found his own that he just stole; what was left of Midas' ship. The former king was nowhere to be seen, and Akio sailed off. A look of determination in his eyes.
