Hell's Trickster: Part 4
AN: This chapter is all the flashback of Naruto meeting Shisui until his death, If you are not interested you can skip but if you like the story I would suggest at least reading the AN at the end as I explain of a possible new story.
It had been a long day for Uchiha Shisui, though he knew it would be it did not change anything, after all it was a punishment for pranking s couple of civilian council members that had been spouting nonsense in the chambers as always, even if the commander himself was having a hard time not congratulating him for his actions, he still had to be punished, and so he was assigned to guard an Uzumaki Naruto from midday to midnight. Though he would argue that if was more babysitting than anything, it did not help that the 4 years old brat was going around in kill me orange and showered with ugly glares and the random object by the civilians, the fact that the boy seemed to sometimes disappear made it just more annoying, the only good part had been when the boy sneaked in to an alley, took of his bright orange jacket and went silently to the drowsing gate guards before setting up a little trap that would cover them in paint and glitter before returning to the alley to cover himself in his jacket before dashing to the gate guards and screaming a very loud salute that made the two chunin jump and trigger the trap.
The whole ordeal went on to a wild chase through the village with Naruto triggering similar simple yet effective and humiliating traps that slowed the chunin enough for the boy to keep running and somehow adding a dozen more pursuers by the way. When Naruto had enough he led the whole bunch of stupid clowns, I mean angry chunin, through an alley where he used a smoke bomb to cover himself entering the sewers.
While seeing this Shisui could only crackle in laughter at the kid toying with the lazy ninjas, he now knew why Ryu-sama had chosen this task as his punishment.
At last Naruto went back to his little apartment in the red light district. Shisui resigned himself to looking after a sleeping child until his replacement arrived. What he did not expect was when all lights went out for the night in the village for a black covered child to sneak out of the apartment through the window.
As he followed his charge he saw him going in the direction of the shinobi library,(AN:Of course the would be a separate shinobi library, it would be stupid to assume that everything is cooped up together making the guarding of secret village techniques harder) the boy used the draining tubes to go up a nearby building with practiced ease before jumping to a ledge of the library and going to a window before opening it.
Shisui was surprised, he had figured through the day that the knucklehead happy kid that Uzumaki Naruto appeared at first impression was just a facade for a rather intelligent kid that knew what he was doing, but he definitely did not expect that the kid would sneak into the library late at night. While he was watching the boy he saw a patrolling chunin making his way there so, using his eyes put him under a little genjutsu to make him not notice the boy, after all, he wanted to see what Naruto's intentions were.
When Naruto had finally entered the building Shisui leaped to the window the boy had used, he saw that while it appeared well from a distance it actually had the lock broken because of lack of maintenance, while he liked the redhead he would still have to inform of that as it was a security risk. He thought if the boy was actually as interesting as he seemed he could always make him aware of the secret ANBU entrance to the library as ANBU had secret passages everywhere to move without being detected, thinking about it it would be funny to tell the boy of the secret passages in other places so that he could use them to prank other people, he could hardly hold his snicker as he thought what the boy would do with the access to the council chambers, after all the boy had a tendency to prank the civilian council members as they were some of the worst offenders in the discrimination against the demon brat.
Shisui followed the boy through the library shelves as the boy kept on looking for something. Shisui was again surprised that the boy ignored the ninjutsu section after looking through s couple scrolls, he was also mildly curious what the boy was muttering about under his breath.
"Kurama, you know you could be of a little more help if you actually cared to remember where all the chakra control stuff you keep telling me about is." Murmured Naruto.
"Shut up and keep looking kit, I told you I never cared for what your mother did when she came to the library, also Mito and that guy Endou just taught it to her so she only came to look for it when looking for the information to teach to those brats she taught. As it was useless to me I just slept through it all." Responded a mildly irritated voice in Naruto's head.
Naruto just kept looking while spouting about useless lazy foxes that only know how to sleep only to be awarded by a little headache courtesy of said lazy fox.
"Argh, where the hell is that chakra control stuff." Silently yelled the boy in frustration.
At hearing those words Shisui's eyes widened, that was the last thing the teen expected the boy to be looking for.
Thinking it over, Shisui decided to have a talk with Ryu-sama after everything is over, chakra control exercises was actually one of the best shinobi related things for the boy to learn as because of the bijuu sealed inside of him he had particularly large chakra reserves but little to no control over them.
Shisui decided that it was okey to help the boy and so went to get a scroll about the tree walking exercise and let it casually fall on the boy's head.
"Auch!" Yelped the boy when the scroll hit him, he took the fallen scroll and read it to see that it was what he was looking for, he proceeded to study the contents not before lightly glaring at the dark ceiling in the direction of Shisui, of course he had sense the ANBU following him but as he had not intervened in the afternoon pranks he figured that he was not going to stop him from his infiltration and chose to ignore him.
Shisui was surprised for the whichever time in the course of this mission, how had the kid known where he was, since when had he known, those and more questions kept appearing in his head.
In the end Shisui decided to guard Naruto until he returned to his apartment a couple hours later past his mission's official end time.
The next morning Shisui was in Ryu-sama's office doing an oral briefing of his mission, usually for guard missions a written report was enough and noone bothered doing an oral one unless something happened, the superiors usually let it slide, though it was protocol to make oral reports they too were tired of listening to them so they did not enforce the rule and Ryu and Shisui were some of those that disliked them the most, but this time was different, when he gave Shisui the punishment mission he had already expected to have this talk as he knew that Naruto was anything but normal.
"...finally I followed him back to his apartment before relieving the post to Tora-senpai." Ended Shisui.
"Thanks Karasu, anything else?" Answered Ryu knowingly. (AN: Don't know if it is cannon but Shisui's masc is the crow or karasu)
"Well, yes actually. How is he so good with traps? Why did he look for chakra control exercises instead of nunjutsus like any other kid his age would? And how did he know where I was?" Asked Shisui.
"Hmm, for the first one, this was not his first time entering the library, he has done it before anf read books about stealth and traps. For the second one, this is something that I have kept from Hokage-sama but Naruto actually knows about Kyubi and chats with him regularly, I have made sure that he id not being manipulated by it and can only guess that the beast is trying to make him stronger, Naruto is stronger, faster and smarter than even most academy graduates, especially since the civil council took over the curriculum. For the last one, he likely knew all along you were there, Naruto is a sensor and a good one at that. So, what did you think of him?" Answered Ryu with a proud smirk on his masked face.
"He is good, except for that patrolling chunin he was able to avoid everyone, he has so great potential that I wouldn't mind having him as a student."
"So, why don't you?"
"The council would go after my ass if they found out and you know it."
"And I would care why? My ANBU only respond to me and Hokage-sama, if one of my guys decides that he wants to do whatever during his or her babysitting mission I won't care and neither will Hokage-sama as long as the work is done well, the council can whine all they want for all I care."
Shisui understood the meaning behind his commander's words and smirked.
"Ryu-sama I don't think I have had enough punishment for my transgression against the most honorable council members could you assign me another mission to reflect on my mistakes?" Said Shisui with his most sarcastically serious tone.
"Sure, here I happen to have a guarding mission for Uzumaki Naruto the Saturday, take it and make sure to reflect on your actions." Ordered Ryu with the same tone as his favorite subordinate.
TIMESKIP THAT SATURDAY
Shisui Uchiha in jonin uniform walked to the clearing of training ground 43 where a young boy was attempting to run up a tree.
Usually ANBU would wear their uniform for their missions even the boring ones but during the past week Ryu happened to have a conversation with the Hokage and was agreed that ANBU could wear non ANBU gear during guarding missions on public places inside the village as long as they had a genjutsu to cover their identity if something happens, after all, when in public the best hiding spot is not hiding at all.
"You are using too much chakra kid, with the amount you are using you could fuel a D rank jutsu. What is a brat like you doing in a training ground anyway, chibis like you should be playing in the park and drinking milk." Said Shisui jockingly.
"You know perfectly that that does not apply to me ANBU-san." Said Naruto with a deadpan expression before throwing the kunai he was holding at Shisui.
"Hey, careful with that you could have hit me."
"Payback for the scroll." Was all Shisui got for a response.
"Okey, okey no need get violent, how about if I help you as payment?"
"Why?"
"Cause you are interesting and I was promised the council won't be after my ass, what do you say peace?" Said Shisui offering a hand to Naruto who was still at the ground from his failed attempt to tree climbing.
Naruto looked at Shisui in the eyes for a couple seconds before shrugging and accepting the hand.
As time passed Shisui and Naruto got closer to the point Shisui would invite Naruto to go eat while using genjutsu so that people did not recognize them, something Naruto appreciated as he could avoid the glares of the populace, Shisui also taught Naruto basic skills and most importantly for Naruto the Henge no jutsu that allowed him to not be overcharged or denied entry to shops, another jutsu that Shisui taught Naruto was the Shadow clone jutsu that help speed up his training. When Uchiha Mikoto became aware of her nephew's relation with her godson secretly asked him to make him arrive a scroll with his mother's sword(Bennihimme) as well as information about the Uzumaki clan that she knew (AN: I don't know if the sword's name is written like that, it is supposed to mean crimson princess but I can't be bothered to spend the time to check as I have not had a lot of luck in the past checking this type of stuff. Also in my stories Naruto's godparents are going to be Jiraya and Mikoto if I don't say otherwise, it makes it easier as it gives her an extra reason to help Naruto and support the friendship with Tsuki, later on it also comes in handy as because she is more interested in Naruto's life she knows him better so she would have no problems when the relationship goes to the next level.). Later on Shisui stopped caring about the council and went to meet Naruto when off duty, Shisui and Ryu also convinced other ANBU to take the rotation and train the talented boy as a break from the missions. Naruto and Shisui went on to see each other as brothers in everything but blood.
As his last request in the world of the living, the dying Uchiha Shisui asked his best friend to give his power to his little brother, warn him of the dangers from within the village (Danzo) and keep him out of the trouble their clan was brewing.

AN: Well, how did you find it?
To begin with this time I am answering the reviews.
To the Guest Borello I guess: Thanks, I really appreciate it.
To biginferno: In order the answers would be: Tayuya not decided, Samui probably but not thought how, Temari Yes and already know how, Ino would like to but don't know how without looking forced, Shizuka Yes but not the how will deal with political bs. There will be some more girls, obviously Tsuki will be the first, I am thinking of others but it will not be as stupidly large as some, after all while it won't go over to Boruto because not, I still want the other people to get someone. I know in canon ShikaTema is probably the best pairing in the series but I already have an alternative for him from cryptology.
This one chapter took some more days to make me sit and write, the others I pretty much did back to back but I had to really think how to make this one to take up a decent length, ironically it became the longest one(without the AN) so far, the next one will be the Ssabmud no jutsu, I have thought it over and the Ilusions of life chapter I am going to incorporate it elsewhere as a flashback, I don't know if I have mentioned it in another chapter or not and I am to lazy to check but Sakura is not in team 7, at most I will send her to another team with unnamed civilians that passes their unnamed jonin-sensei's test by sheer luck or something so that I can make the suna genin meeting similar to canon but she is not in the chunin exams or likely anywhere else, her replacement has similar skill setting but with way more potential, don't know if someone will guess who she is but the hints are, in the canon sakura was said to have high potential as a genjutsu user due to her perfect control, think of konoha kunoichi that have high genjutsu potential and are at least close to naruto's generation in age(can't remember if she had the same age or was a little older).
Another reason for the delay is because I got to think of another story, if you have read The Sealed Kunai by Kenchi618 then you would know pretty much all the setting, the early life until graduation would be very similar, only changing a couple details here and there, as you are reading this story it is possible that you already realized but while as a person I despise Danzo, I actually like his way of working, yes, the brainwashing is not good but if you take out his delusion to become Hokage he and root could be a really good asset for the village. Endou is pretty much that good version of Danzo, some of the differences with Kenchi's would be in the fact that this one would actually start in Mizuki's incident instead of the invasion and Naruto would be an in between connection for Danzo an Hiruzen to somewhat mend their relationship and work together for the sake of Naruto and the village. For those who don't know of the story it is basically what if Naruto was trained by root, it will not be as comedy as this one but it will still have some, Naruto's skillset there will be similar to here but with a little steeper powerscale. I will probably upload it at some point if I don't forget but if I get some support for it I will do so sooner.
I know there will be some who are a little disappointed there there is not much humor in the story as of yet but that is because I like to be meticulous in things and there is not that much humor I can put in the thing that have happened so far for rather obvious reasons. I feel that some chapters need to have a lack of comedy because of the topics they touch like the last one, yes, in the last chapter I could have added a scene with Naruto doing a prank on Iruka or someone in class(I am not making descriptions for the konoha 12, everyone knows them and if you want to see them just google their names, only with OCs or not yet known characters I will make descriptions like with Endou in the first chapter, he is basically Tobirama without the red lines) but due to the topic of the chapter I felt the need to not do so, the chapter was about Naruto and Tsuki dealing with the emotions left by the massacre as well as preventing Tsuki becoming an emo avenger that scapes Konoha after an androgynous pedophile with a creepy long tongue.
As I know at some point people are going to start asking for lemons at whatnot, I have thought of a way to ensure that there are no problems in the story if someone wants to upload to youtube or fanfiction gets pissy about the content. The way is basically that in this story there will be no lemons but when I feel there should be one I will make a little timeskip and mention the name of a chapter of an M rated story I will upload at some point with exclusively the lemon scenes of the story, that way if someone does not like them they do not have to read and if someone wants that specifically they don't have to look for it in the chapter, as for the name it will likely be something by the lines of Hell's Trickster LEMONS or something.
