Disclaimer I do not own Fairy Tail. Why would I be writing fanfiction if I owned something like that?

(3rd Person Battle POV)
In an underground dome area, three people stood. The first two were the Fairy Tail mages Lucy Heartfillia and Gray Vern-Fullbuster. The third was Vidaldus Taka, a mage of the Dark Guild Death's Head Caucus and member of the elite assassin team Trinity Raven.
"Oooooo hell yes!" Shouts the man with absurdly pale skin as he played another riff from his magic guitar.
Lucy and Gray stood before him and just took in the weirdness of their apparent opponent. After a few seconds of allowing him to play his instrument, Gray spoke up. "Ok...Vidaldus what exactly are you doing here? You weren't part of the group that attacked us at the casino. I'm guessing you work for Jellal or something though. Never heard of Trinity Raven either."
Vidaldus paused his rocking as he heard the Ice-make mage's words. He gave said mage an annoyed look at being interrupted while playing music before answering. "Well if you pathetic mages have got to know. Trinity Raven is the elite group of assassins that belongs to Death's Head Caucus. A rockin Dark Guild that focuses on assassinations. Guess I'm not too surprised you don't know about us, we try to keep a low cover and not to mention we don't have that much of a presence in Fiore."
Both Lucy and Gray raised an eyebrow at the 'low cover' part of his words as they looked at the man that stood out like a sore thumb. But both knew that if the guy in front of them was a member of a Dark Guild then he would be trouble.
Vidaldus grinned at the weary expressions on his two opponents' faces. "As for why I'm here. That's because Lord Jellal has hired our group to send any people who oppose him to hell!"
Upon finishing his words the Dark mage started to once more play his guitar. At first, Lucy and Gray let down their guard at what they thought was their opponent simply playing the guitar again but swiftly put back up their guard when magic surged through the instrument. Vidaldus grinned as he poured his magic into his weapon and finished playing it as he shouted out the name of the spell he had been preparing.
"Rock of Pain"
A wave of Sound magic erupted from the guitar and rushed forward to the two Fairies. Lucy pulled out a golden key but before she could summon her spirit Gray stepped in front of her and used his Ice-Make magic.
"Ice-Make: Shield"
Before Gray, a segmented shield of ice sprang into existence. The wave of painful sound magic slammed into the newly made shield and for a second the Ice-Make mage thought that it might shatter his defense but the ice held true as the sound spell ended.
Vidaldus looked at his opponent's with glee, happy to have a challenge as he started to once more strum his internment as he prepared another spell. Lucy upon seeing this channeled her magic into the gold key she had pulled out and summoned her spirit.
"Open Gate of the Crab: Cancer"
A golden magic circle appeared before Lucy as in a flash a man stood before her. A tall tanned man stood with a blue striped shirt and dark pants with bluish straps along them. He had odd black and red hair that was done up to look crab-like along with some scruffy chin hair and wielded a pair of crab handle scissors. Other than that he was wearing a gold chain necklace and some yellow sunglasses.
The summon known as Cancer was about to instantly ask Lucy what style of hair she wanted before realizing that he wasn't in her apartment. Upon looking around he quickly realized that he had been summoned to fight and gave a cool smile at finally being able to battle rather than purely cut hair. Sure he loved cutting hair but he became a Celestial Spirit to help mages fight.
"So Lucy you-" That was as much as the Summon was able to say before Vidaldus finished his little solo and unleashed another spell upon his opponents.
"Rock of Breaking"
This time the magic in the guitar shouts forward as three small beams that raced forward. Gray stood ready with his shield that was still up but swiftly regretted it when the beams hit his defense. The beams broke the ice easily and slammed into the Ice-Make mage who let out a pained yell as he was knocked back.
Lucy herself let out a yell at seeing her boyfriend attacked but Cancer stayed cool and calm as he adjusted his glasses while staring at the person he was now sure was his opponent. "So you the shrimp I got to cut. Well then get ready to be snipped."
Vidaldus paused as the crabbed themed man ran for him. The rocker had little experience fighting Summoner mages and was at first cautious about the new arrival but ended up deciding to stick with his shtick and grinned at the Summon. "You think you can get me Crabman!? Well then come and get a taste of hell!"
Cancer lunged at his opponent and in turn, the pale man swung his instrument in defense. The Summon found himself unable to land his cutter on his target and just as he was about to attack once more Vidaldus gave the Spirit a swift kick to the chest and sent him back. Said Spirit wasn't too hurt by the kick but it gave the Assassin enough room to properly attack with a different kind of magic.
"Hair Whip"
Vidaldus' hair seemed to come alive as it started to wiggle and wave while growing slightly bigger. Cancer was transfixed on the movement as part of the hair grouped together and slammed itself into the Crabman. Lucy bit her lip as she watched her Summon regain its footing from the attack. She was debating whether to summon another Spirit or not when Gray rushed forward from behind her, and upon seeing that her fellow Fairy Tail mage was ready to fight she decided to save her magic.
Just as Cancer and Vidaldus were about to clash again Gray surprised the Rocker who was focused on his opponent. The Ice-Make mage flowed magic into his hands as he prepared to attack the surprised opponent.
"Ice-Make: Sword"
A double-edged sword appeared in Gray's hand as he swung it at the pale man. Vidaldus in turn was able to barely block the attack with his guitar thanks to years of training. It was also thanks to this training that he saw Cancer rushing forward to try and take the opportunity to attack. The Assassin let out a grunt as he swerved around with the Ice mage and forced the Crabman to stop his charge as there was now someone between him and his target.
With a grin, Vidaldus used his trusty rocker kick and slammed his foot into Gray's chest and knocked the man back into Cancer. The Sound mage's grin widened even more as he swiftly played a riff with his instrument and prepared to send a spell at his opponents.
"Rock of Pain"
Once more a wall of Sound magic erupted from the instrument turned weapon. Cancer and Gray could do little to block the wave as they were too close to properly react. Both of them let out yells of pain as the wave of sound slammed into them and hit both of them back. Vidaldus yelled too but in pleasure as he watched his two opponents slowly get up. "Oooooh yaaaaaa! That's it, you pathetic men! Get back up so I can play you a song of pain and torture while you provide the lyrics!"
Cancer was the first to fully recover as he narrowed his eyes in annoyance behind his yellow-tinted glasses. He once more rushed forward and prepared a lung with his weapon of choice. Vidaldus simply laughed as he channeled his magic once more into his hair that swiftly came alive.
"Hair Whip"
Once more a group of hair flicked forward to slam into its target but this time Cancer was more than ready. The Summon's hands moved faster than Vidaldus could see and said man was forced to watch in horror as the portion of hair he sent to attack was cut into pieces. As the Assassins took a step back and looked on in anger at the hair on the ground, the Spirit grinned and spoke. "Your little hair trick took me by surprise the first time you used it. But now all you'll do by using it against me is lose it, you got that shrimp."
Vidaldus started to seething in rage before forcing himself to calm down. Despite his rather...exocitc appearance and personality, he was still a professional. Professionals did not let their emotions get the better of them while on the job. That was something Ikrauga had drilled into his head for years. It was just in time too as Gray had gotten up and was preparing for his counter attack.
"Ice-Make: Lance"
Cold surrounded Gray for a second as a magic circle appeared before him. From the said circle, several lances of ice grew forward at a rapid rate and speed toward Vidaldus. The Sound mage upon seeing the attack coming for him poured a mass of magic into his guitar and simply played one cord.
"Rock of Rejection"
Just a second before the lances would have made impact Vidaldus' spell was cast. A wave of Sound magic exploded from the man outwards and slammed into the incoming ice. The lances easily shattered and the defensive wave of sound faded not too long after. But before the Assassin had time to act Cancer was already on him.
The Rocker and the Summon found themselves in a deadly dance as the latter tried his best to cut the former. Each time Cancer's scissors would get close Vidaldus would expertly dodge out of the way or simply block them with his guitar. However, the Sound mage found he couldn't attack back as the Crabman was throwing attacks too fast for him to do anything besides play defense. Just as the Assassin was about to try and go on the attack though Gray joins the dance.
The Ice-Make mage still had the sword that he had created before and was now trying along with Cancer to cut up the Dark Mage. Each passing second Vidaldus got more and more annoyed as he was forced to dodge or block. Eventually, his nerves burst and after ducking under a sideways swing from Gray he forced the two back a few feet with a massive swing from his instrument. This gave the pale man just enough time to once more pour his magic into his weapon and play a single cord.
"Rock of Rejection"
Like before there was an explosion of sound from all around Vidaldus as a violent wave hit Cancer and Gray. Both men fritted their teeth in pain from the spell as they tried their best to keep on their feet. Unfortunately for them, the Assassin was playing his guitar the second after he cast the spell. But rather than focusing on the Summon or Ice mage, he was grinning at Lucy who had been staying back while the clash happened.
"Ok, I think the Crabman has overstayed his welcome! So it's time I played him off!" As he shouted the words his hands were racing across the cords as they expertly played the instrument and prepared for the spell that would soon be unleashed.
"Rock of Silence"
The second that Vidaldus finished playing a lighting strike of Sound magic shoots out of the musical tool. It arced towards Lucy who barely had enough time to bring up her arms in defenses has the spell struck her head. When the spell hit it's target the Celestial mage let out a pained scream as the spell specifically targeted her head. The result though extended to more than just the girl has Cancer found himself simmering out of existence, the Crabman didn't even have enough time to remark before he was gone.
The spell that Vidaldus had just used was made to attack a person's brain with a large number of painful sound vibrations. The end result was the breaking of any form of concentration that the target had for a spell. Even a very lowkey concentration like what a Celestial Spirit mage needed to keep their summons in this dimension.
Gray upon seeing his girlfriend in pain ran for her. Just as he got there the spell ended and he was just able to catch Lucy before she fell to the ground. The blond girl wasn't knocked out but did have a rather painful ache in her head from the attack. Just as she got out of her boyfriend's grip and stood on her own both of the Fairy Tail mages noticed that Vidaldus was once more playing his instrument.
"Don't relax just yet! I got even more ready for the girlie! I hope you're ready to experience hell inside and out!" With those words said Vidaldus finished his little solo and unleashed one of his more powerful spells.
"Rock of Succubus"
With the final cord played streams of powerful Sound mage poured out of the guitar and swift made a beeline toward Lucy. Like with the other spell the female mage didn't have enough time to defend herself as the magic zeroed in on her. Just as the Celestial mage thought she would be hit again Gray threw himself in front of her.
Both Lucy and Vidaldus paused as Gray let out a yell and fell to the ground as the Soundmagic tried it's best to work itself into his body and mind. Lucy looked on in slight horror at her boyfriend's struggles while Vidaldus looked on with a raised eyebrow as he examined his male opponent.
"I've...never used that spell on a guy before. I guess it should still work but it's a hella lot more fun with a woman." Vidaldus spoke slowly as he looked onwards, completely forgetting about his rocker persona for a second. This lasted until he noticed Lucy panicked, thumbing with her key that hung from the side of her skirt.
"Oh, I don't think so girlie!" Upon shouting Vidaldus channeled magic into his hair.
"Hair Whip"
Like the last two times, he used the spell the Rocker's hair all but came to life as a large portion of it extended towards Lucy. The hair slammed into the Celestial mage just before she was able to get one of her keys off the ring and knocked her on her back. While she was groaning in pain and recovering the blond woman heard a loud rip and looked on just in time to see her keyring get ripped from her skirt by a tentacle of hair.
Lucy was able to stand up just as the keys made it back to the Assassin who held them up tauntingly with his hair. "Looks like you misplaced something girlie! Ohhhhhh I love fighting holder type mages! It's always so hellin 'fun to take the thing that lets them do magic away and watch as they beg for mercy!"
The Fairy Tail mage couldn't help but grimace at the description that her opponent was giving her. But despite being keyless she refused to back down. Lucy quickly got her whip from its place on the other side of her skirt and held it in her right arm, ready to fight.
Vidaldus' Grin widened at the sight before him. As much as he loved seeing people beg for their lives he also enjoyed watching people try and fail to fight him. A rumble started up in his gut that soon erupted upwards and exploded out his mouth. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The little pathetic girl wants to fight without her keys, does she!? Well the go-ahead and frail around with that whip while I-"
That was as far as the Dark Mage got before Lucy struck with her whip. She ran forward a bit as she channeled magic into her weapon. When she attacked she did so still outside the range of her whip which caught Vidaldus off guard along with what she did next.
"Whip Slash"
With a strong flick of the now glowing whip, a slash of Whip magic shot forward and cut into Vidaldus' chest. The Rocker let out a surprised yell of pain at the attack but gritted his teeth as he forced the magic in his hair to keep hold of the keys it was still holding. The last thing he needed was his opponent regaining her tools.
Sadly for Vidaldus, Lucy was already prepared to get them back by force.
"Whip Snatch"
Once more glowing with magic, Lucy's whip shot forward and grabbed the keys still in her opponent's hair's grip. That didn't last long though as with a strong pull the keys were ripped out of the Rocker's hairy grip, along with a good few strands of long hair. Lucy let out a small cheer with the keys back in her hands. She had worked hard during her training to use Whip magic and she had just seen the fruits of her labor.
She ignored the fact that those were the only two spells she could use with her Whip magic.
Vidaldus suppressed a scream of pain at some of his hair being ripped from his head as he glared at the Celestial mage who had just gotten her keys back. He idly felt his chest that now had a shallow but wide cut across it as he planned his next move. He had underestimated her apparently and he had no plans to do so again. "Clever trick girl! But with or without those keys you're not going to beat me!"
The Rocker finished his words with a wild grin and he started to once more play his guitar. He was interrupted though when someone he had forgotten about decided to attack.
"Ice-Make: Battle Axe"
A wide slash of ice slammed into the Rocker who was thrown back into the nearby wall. Lucy looked to her side and smiled in relief at what she saw. There stood Gray as he panted slightly from overcoming the spell that had assaulted him up until a dozen seconds ago.
Vidaldus Let out a pained groan as he stood from the little hole he had made in the wall and looked on in surprise at Gray. The surprise soon ended though as he looked at his recovered opponent in anger and disbelief. "How the hell are you not my slave! That spell was supposed to turn whoever it hit into my rockin and hellin slave!"
"Guess you're not as strong as you think," Gray replied with a chuckle at the end. The truth of the matter though was very different. Gray had to put in his all into keeping the Rock of Succubus spell from taking hold of him. He only just overcame it and he was pretty sure that it was only the fact that the spell had been made for women and not men in mind that it wasn't able to overcome him.
Vidaldus gritted his teeth as he ignored the pain he was in. The Rocker had never been that good at taking hits, it was the reason that pretty much all of his spells were ranged. A good bit of damage had been done at this point and the man knew that he needed to end this before he took too much damage. With that thought in mind, he once more started to rapidly strum his guitar.
"Rock of Screaming"
With a flourish of his fingers Vidaldus' finished his solo as the magic he had put into his instrument went to it's top before shooting out towards Gray six spiraling beams. The Ice-Make mage in turn tried to use his magic to defend himself but the spell hit just before he could cast his spell.
As Gray screamed out in pain while trying his hardest not to fall to the ground from the spell Lucy was, in turn, shouting in concern for him. The female Fairy Tail mage's scream didn't last long as she forced reminded herself that she was in the middle of a fight. After a moment of thought, she grabbed a gold key and cast a spell.
"Open Gate of the Archer: Sagittarius"
Like with Cancer before a golden magic circle appeared in front of the Summoner and a Summon came forth. In front of Lucy stood a man in a medieval-looking green tunic, red and yellow striped pants with a small metal skirt coming out of the bottom of his tunic. The Spirit had a normal looking face with decently long black hair and...a horse head...helmet? Ok look he has a horse head on top of his head. Whether the horse was alive or not was one of the great mysteries of the Celestial Realm.
"Hello hello, Lady Lucy! I, the Great Archer, am here to lend you my help!" Sagittarius proclaimed this loud and proud as he held up his bow. Lucy found she had to force herself not to stare at the horse head, she had only recently got around to making the contract with the archer and wasn't used to his oddities yet. It didn't matter at the moment though as she looked toward Vidaldus who was just staring at the horse head.
"Sagittarius fill that metal head full of arrows." Lucy's tone was harsher then she meant it to be, the pain that the Rocker had forced Gray to go through was making her angry.
"On your word Lady Lucy!" With that shout, the Horseman pulled out an arrow and took aim.
Vidaldus had been just staring at the weird horse head on top of the Summon's head while all this happened. He was used to weird animal-human hybrids, he had to be with Fukuro on his team. But that didn't mean he didn't wonder how the hell the Owlman or the Horseman's body worked.
That stare was broken when said Horseman pointed an arrow at him. With swift reflexes, Vidaldus dodged to the side as an arrow barely missed him. As he dodged another he started to strum his cords again, ready to send the new summon back just like he did the other. A certain Ice-Make mage had other ideas though.
"Ice-Make: Arrows"
Despite the name of the spell only one arrow of ice slammed into Vidaldus' head and once more sent the man into the same nearby wall, causing some rumble to fall on the Rocker. Upon turning their heads Lucy and she Summon saw a pissed off Gray holding a large bow made of ice as he walked towards them.
"I am getting real tired of having Sound magic vibrate in my head. Come to one Lucy and… Horseman let end this." Upon saying this Gray created another arrow made of ice and pulled it back along the bow's edge. Sagittarius took a moment to give the man a look of respect, from one bowman to another, before following his lead and pulling back an arrow of his own. While this happened Lucy got an idea.
"What a second guys!" Both men paused as Lucy messed with her key ring and pulled out a silver key.
"Open Gate of the Huntress: Orion"
A silver magic circle appeared for a second before bringing forth a new person to the battle. The same Spirit that had helped her with Gajeel came forth with a serious and stoic look that instantly disappeared upon seeing Sagittarius. Instead, Orion looked at her fellow bow user with stars in her eyes and a giddy expression.
"Master Sagittarius Sir! I'm working with you!?" Lucy was surprised by the excited tone that the usually stoic huntress had. The reason for this was rather simple. When Orion had first been made a Celestial Spirit she had challenged the Archer to a bow and arrow contest and upon the Horseman defeating her she had been star-struck with him ever since. Much to the displeasure of a certain Wolf.
Sagittarius gave a kind smile to his fellow archer. While he had never understood her loyalty to him he was nevertheless impressed with her skills and always enjoyed working with her. "Ah, Lady Orion! I didn't know that Lady Lucy possessed your key. It's good to be fighting alongside you once more. Now come and help me and the man beside me defeat this dastardly opponent that we face."
Orion let out a hyper happy giggle that slightly creeped out Gray and Lucy. But before either of them could comment on this they heard some of the rumble shifted and fell away to reveal a pissed off Vidaldus as he rubbed the spot on his head that the arrow had it. There was a cut on the left side of his face that bleed a little which rather stood out with his near-white face.
The Rocker was about to start shouting at his opponent before he paused as he saw not one, not two, but three different bows with arrows cocked pointing at him. He didn't even have enough time to say anything as arrow after arrow was shot towards him.
Vidaldus found himself rather thankful for all the time that Ikuruga had used him for target practice as that was the only reason that he had the skills and reflex to barely dodge all the arrows that were coming his way. But that didn't mean he was in a good position. Some of the arrows were grazing him and he knew that if he didn't do something soon they would be doing more than just that. So the Rocker gritted his teeth as he poured magic into his hair and guitar at the same time.
"Hair Barrier"
Vidaldus' remaining undamaged hair once more came to life and grew. The hair curled around him as it started acting as a rather effective shield against the incoming arrows. While this happened he started playing the most complex song he knew as his finger all but blurred as they raced across his cords. Upon noting that the arrows had stopped he decided to taunt his foes.
"You all have been a bad audience! So let's end this little show of ours! I hope you all are ready for hell because you about to face my strongest attack!" He finished with a mad cackle while he played the last part of his spell.
The trio of bowmen grimaced at the man's words. They had decided to stop firing when they noticed that the hair was stopping all of their shots. Before either Gray or Orion could come up with an idea Sagittarius spoke. "Lady Orion it's time for that spell we've practiced!"
Upon hearing her fellow Spirit's words, stars returned to her eyes as she realized what he was talking about. She had wanted to use that spell for years but this was the first time in a good few decades that she and Sagittarius had the same Summoner. "Of course Sir Sagittarius!"
The Archer nodded towards the HUntress before turning to a confused looking Gray and speaking. "Sir Ice mage simply prepare to fire one of your arrows and pour as much magic into it as you can. When I and Lady Orion release our arrows you do the same. Your arrow and magic should help the spell."
While Gray was still confused he nodded his head and obeyed the Archer's words. Each of the bow users pulled back an arrow and started to channel large amounts of magic into each one as Vidaldus finished up his last few notes. With one last flourish of his fingers, he shouted out the spell's name.
"Rock of HELL"
All the magic that Vidaldus had poured into his guitar gathered in the instrument's hole. The Sound magic was ready to strike and upon the shouting of the spell, it shot forward. A large beam of pure Sound magic rushed forward toward the trio of bow users. A second or two away from hitting them though said bowmen released their arrows as Sagittarius and Orion shout out a spell of their own.
"Heaven Piercing Arrow"
Three different arrows were released at the same time, each filled with magic. Sagittarius and Orion's arrows glowed gold as they collided together, releasing a large amount of pure magic that swiftly shifted into an arrow-like shape. Gray's ice arrow was swiftly drawn into the magic and shattered. The blue-tinted magic of the ice arrow mixed with the gold-tinted magic as the great arrow rushed to meet the beam of Sound magic.
Within seconds the two forces collided with each other and started a push for dominance. At first, the great arrow won the contest as it slowly but surely pierced through the beam. This lasted until Vidaldus started playing his guitar once more, pouring more magic into his attack. With the added magic from its caster, the beam started pushing back the arrow toward the bow wielders. It seemed like the Rocker's spell would win the clash which caused the man in question to start to laugh maniacally.
At least until he saw some moment from the side. Upon turning his head slightly Vidaldus could do little more than stare in horror at Lucy who held a glowing whip. She gave the Rocker a glare before speaking. "Go to hell!"
"Whip Slash"
With a powerful flick, the whip unleashes a slash of magic towards the Rocker. Vidaldus tried to use his Hair magic to defend himself but with most of his focus and magic going towards the beam all he could do was weakly lift a small section of his hair up in defense. Said hair was swiftly cut through as the Whip magic slashed into the Assassin.
With Lucy's spell, Vidaldus lost focus on his beam which soon started to get shredded from the rapidly advancing great arrow. The Rocker only had time to say one thing before the giant arrow slammed into him.
"Oh hell."
The arrow carried Vidaldus toward the same wall he had been smashed into twice before. Once he made contact with the building the arrow exploded in a mass of gold and blue light and rocked the area around it. Everyone in the room held their breath as the dust started to clear and then promptly released their breath when they saw a passed out Sound mage, his guitar shattered into pieces, and his hair utterly destroyed.
After a small cheer, Lucy sent Orion and Sagittarius back to the Celestial Realm. With her summons gone Lucy hugged and kissed Gray on the check as they left the room through the hole that the magic arrow had made. Upon being met with the sight of hallways and stairs the blond-mage spoke up. "Where do we go now?"
Gray thought for a moment before pulling out a blank card, "We should probably head toward Erza. She's the one that the blue-haired bastard is after.
Lucy quickly agreed and after saying Erza's name to the card the couple was off towards their red-headed family member.
AN: I really us the whole magic beam struggle thing a lot don't I...eh if it works then it works. Tried my best with Vidalus but I don't feel that I got his character just right. On a side not it's surprising how little spells are used in early Fairy Tail. The only spells Vidaldus in the show were Rock of Succubus and Hair Whip. Just means I get t be creative and make more I guess.
Thanks once again to volfwildman for being a Beta. This weekly shout out goes to everyone who sent out words of support when I couldn't post because of Covid. It was mostly cured by the time I posted the Notice but it was nice to hear.
In a land before fanfiction, there was...yu know what? Fuck this. It's like 4 A.M. right now and I just want to sleep. So leave a review...or not. I just want to sleep right now.
Have a great day.
