34. Chapter 34

Reaper of Rome chapter 34- new Hercules in Indy

This chapter will cover my altered version of Dark Prophecy with Ichigo helping the depowered apollo as much as possible as they have to face the now godly emperor to save their home away from home.

Apollo pov

After our dragon mount decided to land in Indianapolis, we soon met strangely polite people. that soon attacked us and revealed their true forms as face creatures known as Blemmyae. It turned out that we could use them with no weapons or skills to take down the monsters.

Then a van moved faster than any mortal vehicle should took out one of the monsters out of it came an Asian boy with strawberry blond hair. He then used a shinnying blade to slice through monster after monster until an older dark-skinned woman used a machine gun took out more and the woman called out "Ichigo get these people into the Waystation before the next attack." The boy then said in accented English that sounded much like Arnold Schwarzenegger "come with me if you want to live." He then clicked a key fob, and all the doors opened for us as we sped into a garage door that opened in what looked like a train station.

The door then closed and vanished as Leo still clad in only underpants asked the boy, "what's with the minivan and what's with that crazy samurai sword, it doesn't look like Imperial gold or celestial bronze, and it sliced through those monsters like butter?" the boy replied "the van was a birthday present from my aunt and the sword was from my mother, she had it made by Vulcan the same way traditional samurai swords are made, but its main blade is moon silver with a Stygian iron core. I needed it to be able to hurt mortals." I then asked the boy "I heard that woman call you Ichigo, but who is your mother and why would you need such a specialized weapon and who is your aunt to give you a van that can move like that?"

It was before the boy could answer that the woman with the machine gun came into the garage and said to our group. This is Ichigo Kurosaki, the one and only living son of Diana or Artemis, now let's come in to talk." I was guided by the tall Japanese boy to the living room as I wondered exactly how my sister had a son but as we walked, he said to the woman named, "I am not the only son, Aunt Jo, I recently learned and figured out I have an order brother that was one of the Olympics demigod children." With that, I remember how during the Olympic games many gods from different factions spawned many demigod children after the games and that I likely had at least one child wondering around from the recent games myself.

It was as we talked to the woman and another woman that had to be her wife, that Artemis likely had children in a way that didn't require breaking her virginal vow much in the same way Athena did. But talking with Ichigo, we learned he not only had a father that wasn't exactly mortal but a mortal mother as well as her godly mother Diana.

Then he told our group that he had just driven from New Orleans and just dealt with a soul vampire that turned into a beast of humanity. I only vaguely knew about beasts of humanity and how dangerous they were. After that I shared the battles, I just had at camp half blood and the fact we barely escaped a fight with Nero and a magical robot he had unleashed. Ichigo then said, "do you know what the Christians called Nero?" I then tried to remember as he replied, "Nero is one human destined to become a beast and the best candidate for beast six aka the beast of 666." I then asked, "does that mean the beast that Nero claims to use is the beast of 666?" but Ichigo replied with "from what I can tell the godly coating Nero has is holding back the beast within, I have a theory what will happen when you find a way to strip Nero of his divinity but wont know for sure until you find a way to do so."

After that, Leo talked about the van with Jo, and she said "my mother gave me a page from a crazy book that seemed to be inked in blood to get the math right to make the car drive at speeds no mortal should be able to reach. I still don't get it completely and wasn't able to do exactly what the equations should do." I then learned the woman was a former hunter of Artemis with her wife that both left in good graces and were able to marry. Then she told me that she is a daughter of Hecate and thought the page may have come from the Necronomicon.

After that we ate and learned about an orange ghost that lived in the station and that said ghost was, the brother of my son and the second oracle we needed to find and rest from the hands of the emperor. Then soon figured the second emperor of triumvirate holdings was Commodus who in his new godly form had gained the herculean strength he bragged about in his former life. Then I learned the emperor has captured many people including the adopted daughter of these two women and said daughter could have been my child from a woman I had to have met at the last Olympic games.

It was after that; I learned that Ichigo was one of the few that had his own private room in the waystation. But I was too tired to really care tonight as I slept in the bed given only to have many terrible dreams. I dreamed of a man named Lit killing two others, but something felt strange with one of the men, like he wanted to be killed, and I needed to know why. I came down to the dining room to see Ichigo with a goddess and a man in a black suit with long lilac hair.

Ichigo pov

I woke up early and started breakfast only to be greeted by Britomart saying to me "you don't need to cook for everyone even if you are on roman wake up times. I will get the others up to help you." But before she could leave, a familiar man in a suit teleported in and made three plates of eggs and bacon with biscuits and gravy appeared on the table and said to the two of us we need to talk about the man that dammed Emperor had killed."

The goddess said to him "who is so important that you need to interrupt my time with Artemis' son?" he said as he took a bite of food "Vortigern," as he took a bite "there is no sin better than southern breakfast with real meat and grease." I then asked the wizard "who is Vortigern and why is he so important to shut a goddess up?" the man said eat and wait we are about to get many more people in here that need to hear this story." We then ate while the others slowly got out of bed and into the dining room.

As each did, the goddess started to assign cooking duties to each person in the Waystation as we all ate and as they stared at the magus of flowers, I said to everyone "this woman is the goddess patron of the Waystation Britomart, and this man is the wizard mentor of king Arthur Merlin. Just cook and we will get a story over breakfast." They did as a said and after a few minutes we came into the room with plates of food to hear Merlin said, "all of you be ready to hear the true story of King Arthur and how I got here."

Merlin then started with "it all began not long after the invasion of Britan, Nero recruited German tribes into his legion but not long as said legion merged with local tribes and formed a kingdom known as Camelot not long after Nero's fall. Two brothers Uther and Vortigern that were once members of the legion under Nero formed the Kingdom but choose who would be the king over a duel with Uther gaining kingship and his brother agreeing to help him rule but not completely happy to."

He then took a breath and said "after many years, the losing brother tried to find a way to defeat his king and that lead Vortigern seeking power and finding said power in the tomb of one the divine dragons Albion. From such blood, the man gained the power of the dragon to form black armor over himself and even turn into a giant black dragon himself."

Then he took a drink of milk and said "not long after that I had to get involved, the battle between the two brothers one with a holy sword and the other with the power of the divine dragon clashed but Uther was clearly barely holding on and I knew a kingdom under a man with the tainted power of a divine dragon wouldn't go well and more so one that pledged his life at one point to Nero. I had to help Uther; the man wasn't good but still the better option of the two. I knew to combat a divine dragon you need another divine dragon and the best way to do that was with a child and their mother one with the blood of a king and the other divine dragon. I had to make sure Uther cheated on the mother of his daughter and impregnated the priestess of the crimson dragon."

It was then Leo broke in and said, "so that's how king Arthur came to be." But Merlin responded with close but 'her' name wasn't originally Arthur it was Artoria." with that all of us were shocked to learn the legendary king of Britain was a woman. Then Merlin spoke back and said "not long after knocking up his mistress, Uther died from battle wounds with his brother but not before placing his holy sword in a stone one that would only release its prize to his true heir. Vortigern then ruled of the kingdom of Camelot for many years with an iron fist while many of her future knights of the round table and I raised the girl who would be king to the point she could claim the sword and defeat her uncle."

Leo then spoke up again and asked, "so the holy sword Uther had was Excalibur?" but Merlin responded to the question "nope wrong again boy. That sword was Caliburn we haven't got to the part about the sword of promised victory yet." He then continued the story with "the freeing of the sword came with a gift or a curse depending on how you look at it. The sword of selection unlocked the draconic blood and stopped Artoria from aging once she hit fourteen. Using the sword, she staged a rebellion against her uncle and claimed many victories but once they fought for the first time, the holy blade Caliburn proved not strong enough to last between the clash of two divine dragons and broke in half. It injured Vortigern but couldn't make the kill. So Artoria, now known as Arthur, needed a new weapon. So, I called the fairy queen to give the blade and scabbard that banished and ancient evil from earth. Those weapons were Excalibur and Avalon, the Sword of Promised Victory and The Everdistant Utopia. The sword could destroy fortresses with its powerful blast and the scabbard would render its holder effectively immortal."

Leo then spoke it and asked, "who made those powerful weapons?" it was Britomart that replied with "my father made them, before I was a goddess, I was a fairy and the daughter of the fae smith that gave up the lives of his son and wife to create the pair. I later became goddess and was adopted by the Greeks," Merlin then picked up again and said "she used the sword and scabbard combo to defeat the dragon and became King but not all was right in Camelot."

He then took another drink and said "Arthur had two big problems first she couldn't connect with her people and second, she didn't have an heir. So, I helped her by making a potion to allow her to make an heir. But after I did, I ended up sealed away and could only come out as a spirit after many years but too many years for me to further help. The person that sealed me was the other side of the fairy queen Morgan ley Fae. She used her sister's newfound manhood to make a child between them. That child was Mordred, and she was more a clone of Artoria than a true son to either parent. Morgan aged her son to adulthood much earlier than normal and used said son to do many things to damage Camelot including producing Mordred's own child to help claim victory." But the battle ended with the bloodline of Camelot being split in two the main Pendragon line being carried by the son of Gawain and the bastard line being carried by the son of Mordred. With many broken minds and lives being left in their wake."

Those lines lead to few dry eyes in the room as Merlin took another drink and said "there's even more to the story. After I could free my spirit, I guided the two bloodlines of Camelot to prepare for the return of Arthur. The line of Gawain became kings while the line of Mordred watched the grave of Albion to make sure nobody else stole his blood to try and use it for evil again."

Then Jo spoke up and asked, "if you were only a spirit how are you eating with us now?" he then replied "William Shakespeare helped on that part. His magic and writing were able to give form to the fairy king and make him a queen and jester. But said Jester, named Puck was able to use mortal mages to me free my prison and thus I re-entered the world of men to more directly help prepare for the moment of Artoria's return. it didn't take me long to figure out there was an issue with bringing her back through Reincarnation. So, I knew I needed to find out the source of the problem from the person herself. That led to me finding mages from the era and helping them to build a system that could bring Artoria back in person. That system is known as the Holy Grail War and after many tries, I finally made sure Artoria was summoned and after making sure she met the right boy, a boy that is your very brother Ichigo."

I then replied, "So my brother is a magus." Merlin said "that and much more but you will need to figure the more part yourself soon enough. Then he said "The stage is finally set for her to be reborn but with Vortigern being freed from the binding of Nero will also find a way to return and be the very crisis Artoria will have to defeat in her next life. the only good part about the idiot killing Vortigern last night is it should give me more time and not have to harm the girl that could have been Artoria's vessel."

The man then stopped talking and said, "now that you know the problem I have to leave, and I believe fae turned goddess friend you have your own mission for our fallen god friend." It was after he vanished the man left a book called 'mist magic for dummies' and I knew I would need to look it over and share the book with Hazel. The goddess asked me after seeing the book "since when you have known how to use the mists?" I replied "Hecate taught me to do it. I used it a lot in the holy grail war."

After that she brought Apollo, Leo and Calypso into the living room and sent Apollo and Calypso on a mission to get her Griffins back and soon due to the female close to laying and egg. With Leo and I helping to shore up the defenses in the Waystation for when Commodus attacked. I just hoped said zoo would have reinforcements for us as well.

As the two left for the zoo, I said to the two women "do you'll have a large silver mirror?" jo said "yes, why do you need it?" I replied, "bring it in the living room and we can watch what the zoo group does." we soon saw the two sneak into the zoo and battle Germani and a revived human through the zoo and soon added the girl known as Meg to their ranks. But to finally escape the zoo with the two Griffins, Calypso needed to relearn to use her magic, but they made it back just in time for the Griffin to lay her egg with the help of the former god.

But one mission led to another with Leo, Meg and I joining Apollo to sneak into Commodus' base, free his prisoners and get anything else we may need. We had to sneak into the base and first start by fighting a giant serpent. That we were only able to defeat with a mix of Apollo's returned power and my blade. After that, we learned the enemy found the base and a group of hunters failed an attack a day ago. We also learned Apollo would have to make it to the cave of prophecy before the attack on the Waystation as well and that it would be guarded. It wasn't much longer that we found a jail and freed the prisoners, but Apollo and Meg ended up captured to secure our escape.

but it wasn't long until they got out with a special chair that was needed to help those affected by the oracle's prophecy. After that Leo and I found his dragon stuck in case form and used it to escape with the prisoners and try and find the hunters to save the Apollo and Meg.

I soon used my moon site to learn Apollo was at the Colts stadium and the hunters and planned our attack. We soon arrived with the dragon and the hunters just in time to save Apollo and he used an elephant to defeat the emperor and escape the Waystation but now have to prepare for the full-scale attack while Apollo had to get the prophecy and rest the oracle from the hands of our enemy.

But the next thing we had to do before going to bed was to use the throne Apollo secured to try and fix my honorary niece Georgina. But on putting her on the throne came the voice of the spirit of the oracle and he said to our group, "if you want a prophecy before that damned emperor can get his you have to visit my shrine tomorrow. But I do have a personal prophecy for my nephew the soul reaper."

Then the spirit still in the little girl's body spouted out a long poem that would guide my life and I could even figure out parts of it would help me save New Rome and how to get my soul reaper powers back and even told me enemies I would have to face down the line. Parts of the the prophecy connected to Apollo's own journey, but other parts clearly were just for me.

After that we knew it was best to sleep and prepare for the coming raid while Apollo and Meg had to deal with their own mission. It was in the morning that I woke up just in time to great the two leaving and tossed them my keys and said, "take my van and by the end if you can't drive yourself home push the button on the main console it will drive the van back to me." the former god said "wait, does your van have a self-driving feature?" I replied "yep, Suletta has been working with the team at camp half-blood that worked on the ship for the seven to create that function."

Soon after that, I woke up the rest of the people at the station and everybody worked together to help set up final defenses and make breakfast for the battle to come. It was right around nine that the forces of Commodus came, and we all did our best to fight them off. but they started to overwhelm us soon enough. But Leo and I were still able to push at least until the new Hercules himself came in and smashed through our last line with pure power. but as he was, I felt the Haro system driving Apollo and Meg back to the station. But the first to fall on our line was the female griffin she fought hard but after a strong punch from the emperor she fell. Then I had to try and use a mix of the mist and sword play to hold the monster of a man off. but I was starting to struggle until I got in close and slashed his neck. My blade managed to get close to his spine, but before I could fully remove his head, Commodus flexed my sword blade out and then bite into it, then he took the rest and shattered my sword over his knee.

After breaking the sword, the new Hercules snacked my neck as I saw Apollo and smiled. He then said to the group close your eyes and with that I did and everyone else awake did as well. Then I could feel Commodus turn as a wave of heat came over the group. Apollo's divine form killed the rest of the emperor's forces and forced him to leave.

After we got our bearings, we put things back together and Apollo put Meg on the throne to get the prophecy as needed. it seemed to guide him to the next oracles and the next stage of his journey while hinting at parts of my prophecy and mentioning my own brother would likely be needed as well. but from the emperor's own words, Leo and I knew we would have to go to camp Jupiter soon as Apollo and Meg went with the Satyr Groover to finding the next oracle.

I had to rush around a little with the middle parts due to time

Next chapter will have Ichigo battle against the first wave of zombies and prepare for the next wave while apollo tries to free the next oracle

But first teams Rias and Ravel will learn wakes coming and have to train to both face the chaos brigade and the other problems coming
