ALL I WANT TO DO CH 7
Undisclosed location Rio
Spanish music lofted throughout the room as a cell phone could be heard ringing. The music was turned down as a man with a Spanish accent answered. "Hello." The voice on the other end was distorted. "We are here. Locations maybe compromised. Surveillance yes. Still don't know where you are." "Good to hear. Keep me posted." The line goes dead. The music was turned back up and a glass is poured from an expensive bottle of cognac. And a smirk comes across his face.
Chuck got a chill run through his body but shook it off, this place made him uneasy. He approached Casey as he spoke. "You ready?" Chuck looked around settling his eyes on Sarah. Casey picked up on it but didn't respond. He had been taking notes since their meeting with Beckman that something was off. Not that it would hinder their mission but something had changed. He had known Chuck for five years and he knew him, really knew him. And the last six months he seemed different. He had mentioned that he had hope or something allowed him to have hope. And maybe putting this nightmare to rest might have been it. But as he watched Chuck, he knew it was something else entirely. "Yeah, I think we're good." Chuck looks away and sighs.
It was late when they finally unpacked as Chuck started to set up. He walked the room looking at the recruits who all looked like lost puppies each figuring out what to do next. He continued to look at his team recalling each of them and figuring out where they would fit on this mission. He had an idea and started mentally assigning specific jobs to each of them based on their skills. He would assign Casey with Walker, Miller, and Mitchel on outside surveillance. Rizzo, Fletcher, Amy would stay with him and observe from within. Chuck laid all the surveillance out on the makeshift table looking at Rio from a different angle. There were so many places that Gaez could hide and people could easily hide him. Sarah walked in earlier than he expected. She stood briefly looking at him. She knew he was tired and worried. His body showed the wear and tear. He looked up and for a split second he looked like nothing was worrying him. She walked over and touched his arm looking up to see if anyone was coming. He looked at her, his brown eyes were like a warm blanket. She reached for his hand and held it. He leaned in wanting to kiss her and she wanting him to. But the moment was gone when they both heard voices. In seconds all the recruits walked in grabbing a seat. Some looked rested and some looked tired. He himself was tired but he had a few dozen missions on them. Chuck slid photos down the length of the table as each grabbed a few took a look then passed them on. Chuck took a deep breath and then began to speak. It was going to take a lot to keep his emotions in check as this was more than a regular mission this was personal. "Evening team. This is your first mission and for most of you you're wondering what is going to happen. Most missions you have an objective and you try to meet that objective as soon as possible. But you also have to keep in mind all the other stuff. Not only trying to capture Gaez which is our main reason we are here but he has several others who are under him and would protect him at all costs. You might have to make that choice to take a life." He dropped the question. "Are you ready for that?" Chuck moved on. "Our surveillance have him in these two places but again there might be more. There are many off shoots and under ground rooms so keep an eye out for them. Gaez also holds a yearly party in a few days and I hope we can take him after that." Chuck saw hands being raised. He looked up. "You're all probably wondering why not take him now? We would. Trust me. But we only have verbal confirmation that he is here. We need visual confirmation. Plus, we don't exactly want him to know that we are here. He will run and it has taken a year to find him. Our orders are to bring him in but plans always change." Sarah looked at him. 'Did he want him dead?'
Chuck continued to speak. "We will do four hour shifts then switch. We go out in 20 and remember visual surveillance only for now. We don't want to spook him. Agreed." He looked at each of them as they all nod. He spends a little bit longer looking at Sarah as Sarah did the same.
"Please suit up, vests at all times. Keep your eyes and ears open. Your vests include comps. Be safe." They got up and left the area, Sarah wanted to talk to him but chose to get ready.
Sarah tried not to stare at Chuck as he busied himself and she got ready. She had seen him in a teacher role and how he presented himself as a teacher, mentor and she saw his inner soul. When they first met, made love for the first time and every moment, touch since then. She knew him but now she was seeing a different side. She would be lying to herself if she wasn't affected by this James Bond persona that he was showing. If the room wasn't full of people, she'd probably jump him. But she also saw the side of him that would explain his apprehension at times. It would explain why he never talked about why he left and disappeared for a year. All she knew was that he needed to separate himself from what happened. Was this what he was running from and now he had to face it whether he wanted to or not.' His take charge attitude she knew would be for their safety and she knew he wasn't thrilled that she was there.
Chuck diverted his eye as Casey grabbed some gear. "Remember we have an extra help. Abrahamson is your IT, your other set of eyes. Beckman only approved six recruits plus us. The rest think he's one of them."
"I know. I can get him cleaned up and send him out." Chuck trusted his friend and his use of this team. Abrahamson helped them out a couple of years ago and was described as one of those full-time students to those who were new to the program. But to Chuck and Casey he was one of them. He knew Gaez and that was all Chuck needed to know. Chuck nodded. Casey walked off taking Abrahamson with him. The rest were too consumed with their new environment. Abrahamson looking like he had been in some Iranian cave, grabbed a razor, and got cleaned up. Casey gave him a change of clothes and his instructions. He walked to the door giving him a packet. "I would set up here. It's a local place internet spot. We need to know who's using, to keep an eye on." "Understood Major." Casey continued. "Agent Carmichael has set up a box outside this location." As Casey pointed to it on the map. "Here's a burner, call when you get something."
"Yes sir." Abrahamson headed down the street and slipped into the crowd disappearing.
Casey came back and nodded getting Chuck's attention. Chuck turned to face the group. "Everyone can I have your attention." He waited to see if anyone was going to say where Abrahamson went.
Chuck stood facing his team, babies in the eyes of the CIA but they were the best. He had to admit that this group was the best he had seen in some time. He just hoped that they had their head on straight and could pull this mission off. "Just to make sure that you all have read your reports. Reading a bio is one thing, but the written part is just a small part of who he really is. Remember you will be faced with decisions that you never thought you'd have to make. Like taking a life. But it's either them or you. Or even your team. The choices you make can make or break you, keep you alive, or face the consequences of them succeeding. They may give you this sob story so they don't speak English. Which gets me every time." The room laughed. Then he got serious. "Trust your gut. If you see or feel that something is not right get out of there and report. Your eyes may pick up on something that we might miss. Casey and I have missed a few things but you learn from your mistakes. See anything let us know. One more thing, be safe." The group split off; he took one last look at Sarah as she walked out. Hoping to see her again.
Chuck grabbed his gear as the four hours approach. Miller, Mitchel, and Casey show up. Chuck's heart starts to beat faster as Sarah had not come through the door. He was about to say something when she walked in and closed the door behind her. Chuck closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. Sarah caught his reaction and sort of smiled. Chuck headed to the door as his team followed.
Two days later
Chuck sat looking at the feed from the night before as Sarah started to walk towards him. She wanted to see him and wish him a good morning. It was something they always did and why would she stop just because they were on a mission. Walking towards him she got those butterflies she always seem to get when she saw him. Chuck looked up seeing her walking towards him so he started to lower his notes when Casey moved in front of him. Sarah diverted her steps and walked in the opposite direction. Chuck looked over Casey's shoulder catching her eye. She looked at him and shrugged her shoulders.
Chuck and Casey discussed the next steps as the team awaited. Chuck eventually turned to face the team. "We will regroup at 12:30." The team looked at their watches. Though tired they were eager to get started again. "The plan is for all of you to get changed and prepare for the celebrations tonight. We have set up a change room in the far back. Ladies there are several dresses to choose from and the men there are outfits to change into as well. Our objectives tonight will be to get eyes on Gaez. We know he's here and we don't need to stay here much longer knowing the evitable. We will move in tomorrow either way.
Hours later Chuck looked up as the girls came pout laughing and showing off their outfits. Chuck had no clue what the CIA had put together in regard to clothing. The girls walk in wearing low cut dresses not concealing much. Chuck looks up hearing a laugh. It was her laugh. He started at her feet and the high heels that made her legs longer than he remembered. He moved upwards catching her snug fitting dress cut just above her knees. He moved his eyes further catching how the dress accentuated her perfect body. He gives her a look that only she knows the meaning behind it. She smiles inwardly, almost blushing. He wished he could say and do more. The other three show up and head out with Mitchel who was dressed in white cotton slacks and a buttoned-down cotton dress shirt. Chuck watched them leave then went to the door. Sarah was on the other side as if she knew he'd come to her. Sarah looked at him as he stood in the entrance of the room. "You look beautiful." He raised his hand catching her shoulder. He grazed it softly sending shivers throughout her body. "Be safe."
"Walker let's go." Carina had perfect timing usual. Sarah headed down the steps. "I will." Chuck headed back in and grabbed a cup of coffee sitting down at the computer. "Abrahamson, you got visuals." "Yes, all are accounted for."
"Casey."
"We are good to go. Up on the roof, no sign yet."
"Team, we are hot." Chuck looking back at the feeds.
The team took turns checking in. He does a final check and heads out meeting Abrahamson. He walks the street wearing a ball cap and a hoodie trying not to be seen outside the club. He could hear the music and the people having a good time. He wanted to be inside watching her, watching them protecting her, protecting them but knows that this mission unfortunately doesn't care who has feelings or not or what the heart feels. Chuck's hears her voice over the others and it turns his stomach knowing that anything could happen and if anything did happen, would he get over it. He still was dealing with what happened a year ago.
An hour later
"Sitrep."
They all checked in with their reports and what they were seeing and hearing and so far, nothing was useful at Chuck's end. But he knew he wouldn't miss his own party.
The girls do a walk-through mingling while checking out the club. They return in the wee hours of the morning, report and grab some much-needed sleep. Chuck makes his notes and adds the info to the wall. Casey comes back and reports that it's been quiet at his end. Chuck goes back to the cameras that he set up the last time. Sarah now knew where he went after they were together in the parking lot. Sarah sat down beside Chuck keeping her distance while filling her magazines. In a low voice. "So, this is where you went after we?"
"Yeah. Casey and I did some surveillance, so I figured that taking a look wouldn't hurt." Sarah took a glance. "You think he's in there?"
"Yeah, he doesn't seem to have any other residence that he spends time in. And if he has one, I haven't found it yet. Too much snooping around can be good and other times not so much. Plus, Rio has many eyes." Sarah took note as even though he was the lead on this. To her he was her boyfriend that would do anything for her. Even if it was free advice on spying. Chuck reached for her hand like he did in the bar. She happily took it.
"You better get some rest." He looked up at her. "What about you?"
"I will." Sarah walked the room and found it a bit crowded so she came back and laid down behind him on the empty couch. Chuck just smiled. Sarah smiled back then closed her eyes.
An hour later Chuck did his rounds and Casey agreed to take the next watch along with Fletcher so Chuck could get some rest. Chuck sat down beside Sarah close but not too close. Much to his dismay.
Chuck closed his eyes -Chuck heels dug ruts onto the dirt as Gaez's men dragged him out to the open field. Pushed to the ground he looked up seeing Bryce and Jill come around the bend in cuffs. Gaez walked up beside Chuck pulling him onto his knees as he sees Bryce and Jill forced into the same position. Bryce looking straight at Chuck. 'We got him buddy.' Chuck tried to speak but got pistol whipped falling forward. Gaez pulled him back onto his knees. Gaez turned towards Bryce and Jill as Chuck trying to balance on his knees only to see the end of the gun….
Chuck wakes up screaming. Sarah awaken moves closer to him. Seeing him covered in sweat. She rubbed his back, knowing that he was not okay. Casey walked in as Chuck gets up. "We move in now." Casey doesn't say anything but gets a grunt from him as they walk into the main room. He looks back at Sarah. Sarah looking confused. Then snaps out of her thoughts at what just happened. Hearing his voice. "We move in now?" Sarah heard chaos as she grabbed her gear.
They all leave together heading towards the warehouse that was next door to the club that the team was at, hours earlier. The recruits get a fast awakening as bodies start to fly. The team lay low waiting for instructions as Chuck moves forward based on his surveillance. They hear Abrahamson over their comps giving them alerts and warnings. They get a visual on Gaez entering a back room.
'Gaez puts his phone to his ear. The distorted voice speaks again. 'They have you on surveillance somewhere. Get out now.' Casey follows Chuck as they split into two knowing that they have a good chance of cornering him. As they enter Gaez slips into a side hall and out of sight. Chuck enters the room gun pointed. He turns seeing Casey. They both pull back on their guns looking around. "What the hell is going on here." Casey scans the room. "He was just here, there's no other way out of here." Chuck pressed his voice control. "Abrahamson, do you have eyes on him. He just didn't disappear."
"Nothing, I have nothing."
Chuck frustrated he made it clear to his team that he wasn't happy.
Meanwhile
Gaez keeps walking through the back walls. This place was a good investment as it had been the home of Nazi's Germans who made walls withing walls to hide from American and European soldiers. When he was deep in the recesses of the warehouse he took a deep breath.
Day four
Mitchel walked in after what he felt was an unproductive walk through. His voice clearly indicating how he felt. "All this planning for what? Empty rooms and threats." Chuck looked at him. Maybe it was his choice of words or his tone but Chuck took it as a hit to him personally and maybe it was. Mitchel got looks from the rest as Casey moved in beside him. "You better be careful what you say. You do your job and don't complain. You are replaceable." Mitchel walked off slamming himself into a chair. Sarah scanned the room looking for Chuck. She knew that this mission was more than one of those regular missions if there were any of those. She sees him heading outside and follows him. This time she didn't care what the consequences could be.
Chuck is leaning against the railing as she walked out. She closed the door. The sky was dark and the evening finally a little cooler. They stood under a very dimmed light. She stood in front of him. "Chuck who is he to you?"
Chuck just stared at the door wishing someone would come out. He eventually started to talk. "Augusto Gaez was 1/5 of a team that I was on. It was made up of Major John Casey, Agents Bryce Larkin and Jill Roberts and me. Bryce was my best friend, we met at Stanford and at the time I was dating Jill and we broke up, which I was okay with. What we had ran its course and she moved onto Bryce, which wasn't a surprise but it kind of sucked as they were together and I had no one." Chuck chuckles. "Plus, I wondered if they were together during that time when we were together. I don't know and its too late to ask. Casey, I met during training and he became that older brother/father figure that I didn't have growing up. And Gaez was one of the recruits assigned to the team. At the time we were the golden team, top of the scores, grades you name it. At first, we were so in sync, we knew what each person was thinking and we could rely on them being there. We were the perfect team. But as the missions continued and the status of being on the super team got to a few people, we started not to trust each other. We were on a long-term mission, and the target was anticipating our every move. So, I approached Casey to get his take on it. He was the lead on the mission and the veteran agent. He told me then to talk to Roberts and Larkin. But before I could talk to them, we got word that there was a massive breach at the CIA. Someone hacked some files containing the identities of our deep-cover operatives, including us. We didn't know at the time but it was an inside job at the highest level. It was later that Bryce and Jill had found out that Gaez was the leak and were planning to talk to Casey and me. Gaez was going to pick up the files and pass them on when his plans were interrupted. Somehow, he got a team and took us down. He grabbed me and had his goons work me over. They forced Casey into a corner literally wounding him and tossing him over the building. Hence the braces. He broke his back and left leg. Gaez got a hold of Jill and Bryce. They had words and he wouldn't go down because of some snoopy rookies. Gaez walked over to me first shooting me forcing Bryce to tell Gaez who in the CIA knew that he was the one leaking the intel. And where the files went. I begged Bryce to keep quiet. Gaez walked over to Bryce playing me against them. I assumed Casey was dead or close to it and the fate of the three of us staying alive was slim. Our backup was still a long way away. Long story short Gaez pointed the gun at Bryce then Jill then shot them both in the head. Not finding out who had the files, he disappeared leaving Casey and me there to die."
Sarah slid her arms into his. Chuck rested his head on her shoulder. She now knew the whole story and it broke her heart. She felt his pain and now understood why he himself decided to disappear. Seeing your best friend and your ex-girlfriend being shot and not knowing about another. Would be a lot to deal with and would you ever get over it. Sarah tried not to react but the emotion of his words she felt them. She felt his pain that he had been carrying the last year. How their meeting allowed him to feel again.
Chuck stood up. "I'm doing the best that I can. I can't loose anyone else. I can't lose you. That is why I kind of freaked out." Sarah shrugged her shoulders. "You heard that."
"I think everyone did."
"I have this feeling that it's almost like he knows what my next steps are going to be."
"This team is new so Gaez wouldn't know all of us."
"I guess."
Sarah continued to console Chuck the best she could.
In the distance, eyes watch as Chuck and Sarah embrace. Their lips meet, their kiss despite the evils lurking and the ambience of the streetlight. They were in their little bubble. Just the two of them. The kiss was sweet. All they had was their little moments, the downside of being a spy. They held their embrace a little longer unbeknownst to them they weren't alone.
Undisclosed residence
The cell phone rings again. Gaez surprised but the frequency of the calls presses the call. It also meant that there was progress, one step closer to having it all. Gaez answers with bated breath. 'Anything new.'
'Yes, I think we have a way in.' The voice continued to talk.
'Excellent. Make it work.' Gaez stares out at the street. 'Soon my friend, soon.'
The two walk back inside as the room is quiet. Chuck falls asleep near Sarah. He has another horrible dream but this time it was a wake-up call. Almost like a voice telling him to move now. Chuck shakes Casey and whispers. 'Wake up we're moving in.' Casey always ready for a hunt wasn't sure at first but knew that if they went in now and unannounced, might be what they needed.
Chuck got the rest of the team up, giving specific instructions to the recruits. As he gave out instructions, he watched their reactions. Something didn't feel right but and it frustrated him that he couldn't put his finger on it. He had done a surveillance change several times the last few days, even moving some of his cameras. But even with the changes he felt that Gaez knew his every move. Casey moved in beside him. "Are you sure?"
Chuck looked up. "Yes. I can't shake this feeling that Gaez knows more that we give him credit for."
"He does know you and how you plan and work."
"Maybe but….' Chuck didn't know how to express this feeling he had. He reached the front of the room looking at his team. "We will go in groups of two. So, pair off. We are also looking for this man." Chuck pasted a picture of Marco Capos. "You see him bring him down." They paired off and left. Casey took half and went far north and Chuck took the rest and went east. They approached the warehouse. Chuck knew that there were tunnels but couldn't get further based on what he knew so he was going all in. He split his group. He looked at each of them and hoped that they would all return. Amy and Sarah came up from behind and Chuck nearly smiled seeing her. He wished. His wishes would never work he just hoped he see her face again soon. Amy piped up. "There's a hallway to our left. Do you want us to check it out?" Chuck responded. "Yes, just be careful." Casey's group also split up meeting up with Chuck's. They reached the main room; it looked like a deserted swimming pool. Chuck capped someone on watch then Casey sniped another. Mitchel knocked out one and dragged them off. Fletcher and Carina continued to check out the hallway as Amy and Sarah take up the back. The four get caught in a dead end and move back out. Sarah trying to keep up with Carina, but the lack of light makes it hard to focus. Amy reaches her six. "Maybe we should go this way." Sarah was sure Carina went straight ahead. But every hallway looked the same. Her gut knew that they were lost or turned around but Amy looked at her. "Mitchel and Carina, they went this way." Amy convinced her but Sarah sticking to her gut wanted to be sure. All she needed was to find a familiar spot and she could find her way out. She'll go as far as she could till, she got there then she would go with her gut. Amy led taking the two of them down a hallway. Sarah looked up seeing two figures. She whispered. "There they are." Amy saw Carina and Mitchel and nodded. They approached the corner planning to turn right and follow Carina out. Sarah scanned the area looking down she saw a wire. She followed it and it led down the hall. Amy followed as Sarah traced the line. She didn't recognize the wiring to be the standard wiring so it had to be something else. She fingered the wire as far as she could having it lead her to a closet. She opened the door and saw a bomb. She looked back over her shoulder as a voice said. "Couldn't leave it alone could you." Then Sarah saw the back of a gun come towards her. She fell hard.
Sarah's body was dragged backwards as the bomb went off. Carina and Mitchel fell forward from the blast. Chuck heard the blast. "Retreat!" As he yelled into the comps. Chuck ran into the street seeing his team running out.
Chuck threw his stuff down. "What happened?" The team catching their breath. Chuck scanned the room. Seeing Carina tending to her injuries, Mitchel sitting quiet, Zondra standing near Carina. Fletcher pacing. Casey standing near the door. He scanned the room again. "Where's Sarah? Amy?" The room got quiet. Carina looked around. Where was her friend. "She was behind us. Mitchel and I saw her in the hall just before the blast. They were a couple meters from us." Mitchel agreed they were coming. Chuck ran outside then ran back in. Abrahamson ran in surprising the rest of the team as they had not seen him for some time. "They knew you were coming." Chuck tried to focus on what he was saying. He showed them a feed. "Got audio saying that they were others inside. I did a check and saw this." He put the feed up on the screen. Chuck watched as the video showed Carina and Mitchel walking past the cameras that Abrahamson hacked into. Then they saw Amy and Sarah. Chuck tried to focus but there she was. He watched her head down the hall. His voice in his head kept him going. 'That's right make a right. You're almost there.' He could see that she was looking at something or someone. The camera unable to pick up the bottom corner. For a few painstaking seconds he lost her. Then he saw her pop up. She turned to face the camera as if to say that she was okay. Seconds later Chuck saw two figures assuming that they were Carina and Mitchel. Then the blast. Abrahamson scrolled forward. He showed Chuck the feed from another view. Chuck saw Sarah being dragged out of the hallway down an empty parking lot. The room froze in shock as they watched the feed. Chuck stormed off throwing whatever he saw in the air. He frantically grabbed the metal railing and shook it screaming. Casey entered. "Chuck. I know you're hurt… you need to focus on getting her back. Chuck!"
Chuck rattled the railing again. He took a few breathes then composed himself.
"We will get her back." Chuck ran through all the possible scenarios that could happen and what he should do next. He walked back out looking at his team. "Abrahamson go back and see what you can find out. Track anything going in or out. Find any secondary feeds that we can bounce off on."
"Yes sir."
"Zondra and Mitchel, you go with Casey and head up into downtown. Turn over everything. Carina you and I will head to the blast." The room emptied each dealing with the change of events. Chuck held on to the hope. There is always hope in these situations.
Chuck reached the site, by now it was smothering. He saw the trigger wire and where the camera was located. He wondered if Sarah had found it and thought checking it out was a good idea and was interrupted. 'But where was Amy in all of this. He didn't see her in the feed.' He not only had one recruit he had possibly two. His heart was torn.
Chuck and Carina searched the area for hours not finding a soul. It was like they had disappeared. The three others showed up. Chuck saw Casey shaking his head. Chuck looked around. 'Where are you, Sarah?'
Sarah woke up with her head pounding. She was drenched in sweat but it wasn't sweat running down her face. She tried to sit up but was tied. Her body ached. 'Did I fall?' She looked up to see an empty room, looking around. 'Remembering that in any kind of emergency situation an operatives greatest enemy is panic. The spike of adrenaline, she knew it would increase her blood pressure and the loss of any of her senses could make it impossible to think clearly. Knowing that she had to have a clear head.' She heard Chuck's voice in her head, clear as day. 'In those moments, it takes all your training all your will power to pull yourself back from the brink.'
Then her mind drifted off again to when she was training and this time, she heard Casey's voice. "In many ways it's easier to function during combat than after. In a fight, there's always something to do, something to focus on. Later, when you're dealing with the consequences, the only thing you can do is wait and hope.'
Hours later Chuck trying to keep busy, because if he stopped, he'd think of her. So, he went and checked on everyone else, sees Casey. "Sorry did I wake you?"
"Y. know I don't sleep on missions." Chuck tried to smile. "Can't sleep?"
"No been going through everything and how I let this happen."
Casey sat up. " She's a strong recruit. One of the best I've seen since you."
Chuck looked up. "It seems to me that there is more to her. My first impressions one the first day that there was something. You couldn't get out of there fast enough."
"Long story."
"Okay give me the short version it might keep your mind on other things for a little while."
"I met her in Santorini about six months ago. I had been hotel hopping trying to hide and I saw her in a crowded bar. I mean crowded. And there she was. I got her attention and she came and sat down. I was just giving her a chair. She sat down and wondered how I saw her with all the people."
"Fate?"
"Maybe. We talked the rest of the day and into the evening. She was on a trip. She told me that she had tossed a knife at a map on the wall and wherever it landed, that was where she would go. It landed on Santorini. She didn't say much but she was running from something. And when she returned, she said that she'd be selling her soul."
"What did you tell her about you?"
"I was laying low, had somethings to work out. They had lost her luggage and by the looks of things there were no rooms left. Hours later I offered her my couch. Had no plans to do anything else. Honest."
"I believe you."
"I left her in the lobby and headed to my room. For an hour or so I didn't hear from her. Then she knocked on the door. I let her in and we talked. And it just happened. Three days later there was a knock at the door. And it was Fitzroy."
"Really?"
"They had found me. I reluctantly left. Made them wait till midnight."
Casey laughed. "When I got on the car for a split second I wondered if Sarah was sent by Beckman."
"I guess she wasn't."
"No, they had found me on an ATM machine and it took them a week to locate me there. I didn't think I'd see her again till I looked up and there she was."
Somewhere
Sarah woke up after passing out again. This time she looked up to a voice as it sounded like they were tapping something. "Tap tap wake up." He gave her something that she breathed in something medicinal. "Breathe deep, it'll clear your head." Sarah tried not to react but ended up grunting and trying to get out of her restrains. "Well, I need you awake. Where is Charles?"
Sarah looked up. "Oh, you know him." As the man approached her. "You know him quite well, Agent Carmichael or better yet your boyfriend." Then Amy walked in with a smirk on her face. Gaez welcomed her with a deep kiss. Sarah yelled at her. "It was you. You're the one." Amy moved in and slapped her hard. Gaez grabbed her wrist as she was ready to give her another hit. "Easy sweetheart we need her alive, love." She pulled her hair back and stared her down. "You know how hard it was not to take you down during training. Then to see you Mr. Carmichael lip lock the other night. Made sense and it was way of making him pay."
"Make him pay? Sarah spat out some blood. "I think it's the other way around. You using me, will not get you anywhere."
"It will." Gaez faced her. "He won't let you go down for this. Plus, if he thinks he's going to bring me down he has another thing coming."
"You don't have a chance." He didn't like her tone and he had to show her who was boss. He slapped her so hard that she fell backwards falling hard to the floor. This was the second time she had fallen hard. Now she knew how football players felt getting knocked down. Two guys picked her up and stared at her. Gaez grabbed her face.
"He will come for you and when he does, I will be ready. I kept him alive, barely so I could finish the job now."
Gaez left the room as Amy stayed back a little longer. Sarah wanted to say something but Amy wasn't worth it. She betrayed everyone, for what some gratification from Gaez. Sarah's eyes were like daggers making Amy slightly uncomfortable. She slowly left leaving Sarah alone.
Casey felt for his friend and what he was dealing with. Not only bringing down Gaez but now someone he cared about. It was obvious that he cared for this Sarah. He just hoped that it wouldn't cloud his judgement.
Sarah had lost track of time. Something she had to work on. She wiggled in her chair seeing that the arms were loose. 'Maybe from the fall?' She wiggled some more making herself fall once again. The pain of landing trickling through out her body. She waited to hear if anyone was coming. When she heard nothing, she broke off the arm of the chair loosening her ties. She did the same to the other side freeing her hands. She wedged the broken arm in between her legs forcing the tie to break. She wiped her forehead with the back of her hand. It was still bleeding. She grabbed something to use as a weapon and headed out.
Chuck stared at the feed hoping and wishing that something would happen. That she find a way to make contact. He stared at his cell. Again, wishing that it would ring.
Sarah felt her way down the hallway looking inside empty rooms. After a few she got discouraged. She made her way downstairs finding a phone on the wall. It was dark and she hoped she could dial. She raised the receiver and sighed deeply hearing a ring tone. She placed her fingers on the keypad like she had done hundreds of times before and dialed her number.
Chuck turned to grab his cup when his phone rang. The room all stood responding to the ring. Chuck flipped the phone on. "Hello?"
"Walker, Sarah Santorini."
Chuck tapped the cell to his forehead.
"Sarah?"
"Chuck."
"How, why?"
"It doesn't matter, where are you? How are you?"
"Basement maybe, I passed a pool." Chuck snapped his fingers then put his cell on speaker.
"You hurt?"
"Head hurts, body sore. Chuck Amy is the one, she is the one."
Chuck heard rustling or tackling. "Sarah talk to me?"
It went quiet. Chuck paced his spot, running his hands through his hair.
"Sarah!"
"Sarah can't come to the phone. It's so nice to hear your voice, it's been way too long."
"It's not her you want."
"We do agree on that one."
"Her for me."
"Hmmmmm. You trained her well."
"Her for me."
"I'll get back to you. I'll leave this line open as I assume that she used her lifeline to call you."
Chuck motioned to Casey. Casey leaned in. "Get Abrahamson to get a location off this cell."
"On it."
Chuck whispered. "I'm coming Sarah."
