"Time had passed since Harley and her crew of mutants and villains had involved themselves in moments that revolved around breaking things and people in addition to destroying city property. But after their last venture of being invited to a wedding that forced them to fight a world filled with corrupt superheroes, it was time that they decided to change the scenery and do something different. Luckily for her and the others, they were about to get it with an opportunity that none of them would expect in their criminal lives. She as well as her friends had been invited to the opening of the new Superman Museum to honor the Man of Steel and his legacy of looking after Metropolis for years. The one thing that was required of them was not to start any trouble or get into fights, other than that. The Outlaws will be coming to the city of tomorrow's biggest event of the year."

Metropolis-Night Time

It was a busy night in the home of Earth's greatest hero with everyone in Metropolis attending Superman's Museum of exploits and heroism that had been preserved in the building. Hundreds of people were given invitations to attend the event as they were either walking there or taking limos, which at the moment were being caught by Lois Lane who was reporting the coverage with her assistant Jimmy Olsen.

"This is Lois Lane covering for the Daily Planet at the opening of Superman's Museum. As you can, people are getting the chance to see relics and pieces that our city's hero had taken over the years of looking after us and displaying them for everyone to see."

Lois told them that it was rare for a superhero to get a museum dedicated to their career in protecting a city from various villains and world-ending threats. Continuing to cover the news about who wanted to visit the museum, Lois got a text on her phone about surprise visitors who be attending the event.

"This just in folks. We're getting unexpected visitors from Gotham City who had been involved in the recent incarceration of Lex Luthor who plotted with the alien called the Triceratons. Despite their reputation, they helped protect the city and save numerous lives."

She informed her viewers as the crowd saw a limo coming out that had been given a makeover with graffiti all over it. Coming out of the driver and passenger seat were a mutant warthog and rhino coming out in driver uniforms and walking over to the doors. They do so to show who were the surprise invites that would be attending the museum opening. It was Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy who were wearing expensive dresses and flaunting them in front of everyone.

"I forgot how long it felt wearing a dress, especially with how many people are smiling at us."

Ivy told Harley that it felt strange to attend the event after the wedding debacle that had them working with Superman's clone and fighting an army of psychotic heroes who were bent on destroying another earth.

"Bullshit. We deserve this, especially with that wedding hell we went through. This is what that boy scout owes us, plus I look attractive in this."

Harley responded to her wife about being treated better since they didn't expect to be hauled off into a fight since it was supposed to be an ordinary wedding. With the women heading inside while waving to the cameras, Bebop and Rocksteady had their moment to shine and ripped off their limo suits to reveal their stylish clothing for the photographers and paparazzi.

"Mutant love for people of Metropolis!"

Bebop shouted at everyone making the crowd cheer for the announcement since it was rare to have mutants visit the city since they'd become popular in Gotham City. The two men brought out their dates for the event including Power Girl and Karai, a member of Superman's family and daughter of the Shredder who were wearing special dresses for the event and walking with their boyfriends.

"Look at them. Taking photos of us in envy and wanting to be us, it feels wretched. But exciting as well."

Karai admitted that she preferred hiding in the shadows like a ninja and keeping to herself whenever she was doing things by herself. The six Gotham residents made their way inside the museum to see a collection of Superman's suits and objects that had been taken from past battles.

"Damn. This place is shiner than the Legion of Doom's place, they even got robot butlers."

Rocksteady pointed out as he looked at the assistance that was offered for the opening that they were automatic drones that were keeping the place neat and visitors satisfied. One of them floated over to Harley and Ivy who offered them two cups of wine to enjoy during their stay here.

"You can thank one of the league's benefactors who helped with the museum. Mister Terrific, one of the most brilliant men on the planet who offered to use his T-Spheres for the opening. With the condition of being the first hero to attend the opening."

Power Girl informed the gang about why drones were aiding the visitors as she gestured over to Mister Terrific who was with reporters who were asking him about his partnership with Superman. Deciding to walk around the place and check out the exhibits that were held, Harley walked over to look at a set of suits displayed for everyone to look out as each of them was from a different year.

"Fucking showoff. He has more clothes than I did when I was with the Joker, he gave me different costumes to wear to fit the crime we committed together. He has one for every occasion."

She responded toward Superman's uniforms as the first one they looked at were torn remains of a suit that he battled with against Doomsday. The one monster that made everyone realize that even someone as powerful as Superman could be beaten by a relentless threat. While the ladies continued to look around the museum, Bebop checked out a wall that had newspaper articles about the hero's deeds in the past.

"This place is just as bat-shit crazy back at Gotham. Giant robots, giant monsters, giant orange-haired haired journalist?"

Reading each of the fights that occurred in the city, Bebop looked over at Jimmy Olsen who was interviewing the people who'd been saved by Superman during their visit to Metropolis. The warthog shuttered at that happening to him since the idea of walking over a city wouldn't be pretty to anyone, especially if it meant not being able to wear clothes since the only person he'd want to be around naked was his girlfriend Karai. Watching everyone enjoying the venue was Power Girl who was being whistled at by several admirers who wanted to get her attention.

"She's with me. Beat it."

A voice talked over them as it was Rocksteady who had two plates that had food that was for himself and Power Girl. Growling at the admirers to mind their business, walking over to give her a plate so they could fill their hunger for the night. Karen didn't appear to be enjoying the event despite having photos of her with Superman since their cousins.

"Babe? Do you want to leave? Because I saw this place several blocks back that looked like a biker bar. We could rough some people up."

He suggested they'd go somewhere where they knock some heads around and have fun. The Kryptonian shook her head at the offer that while it would be fun to get in a fight than stand around with people to talk about Kal-El's heroic deeds.

"While it sounds more entertaining than being here. I have to offer my cousin support, plus watch over Krypto since someone needs to keep an eye on him and not chase any cars outside."

Responding about having a reason to be here, she looked over at Krypto who was partaking in the snacks that were being offered to everyone. The white canine noticed Power Girl and barked in excitement before flying over to greet her since he enjoyed being around family. The dog noticed Rocksteady and growled at him since he smelled blood off his body.

"Easy Krypto. He's with me, and a friend of Kal."

She calmed him down as Krypto didn't know if Rocksteady could be trusted as the dog continued to growl at him. Only for the rhino to offer him some food off his plate that automatically made the super dog like him as Krypto started to repeatedly lick his face.

"What? I help Harley look after Bud and Lou on the weekends, I know how to handle animals with fangs."

He responded to her about how to handle intimidating animals since all they needed was comfort and food to eat. With everything underway and going smoothly, they look above the ceiling to see an opening that shows the man of the hour making a dramatic arrival. Harley and the others applauded lightly since they were the ones who took down Luthor and sent him to jail without any way of getting out, whether with help from outside resources or using money he had kept in his private banks.

"Thank you everyone for attending the opening of this museum. While I would say that it's mine since it has half of my belongings, it belongs to the city and the people I swore to protect and serve. Just don't try and play with them since they might be a bit heavy."

Making a joke to settle the mood which left the people to laugh at his comment except for the Gotham tourists since they wouldn't mind taking a chance to try out the stuff that was laid out for anyone to take. With that being said, Superman decided to talk amongst the crowd and speak to them like an ordinary person since they were here to meet him and learn a thing about his career of being a superhero. Harley tapped the side of her glass thinking about going over there to talk to him.

"I know that look peanut. And I don't think a hero should be talking to a former criminal that's responsible for destroying their city."

Ivy tells Harley about not walking over to talk to him since there were reporters and people of power talking to him about the museum as well as plans on what he'll do to keep Metropolis safe. The clown woman rolled her eyes since she wasn't afraid of people walking up to take photos of her and talk about her criminal life.

"All they want to do and ask him if he's banging anyone. And fuck that they know I'm yours, other than that? I'm good."

Responding to her before kissing Ivy on the cheek and walking over to talk with Superman. Feeling cautious about talking to him in front of everyone, Ivy didn't notice someone walking over for the chance to speak to her one-on-one. It was a woman with light dark skin wearing a red sleek dress and white fur coat who was smiling toward Pamela.

"Dull, right? Half of the people here are producers who want to try and make a deal with Big Blue. TV show, documentary. Shit that people could use against him, my brother tried to do that in the past."

The woman informed Ivy about the people who were talking with Superman which made sense due to the publicity that heroes and villains got back in Gotham City. That mattered little with the stranger bringing up her brother as she pointed toward a destroyed Lex Luthor suit to help Ivy figure out who she was related to.

"Lena Luthor. Don't worry, I'm not like him. And not because I have a full set of hair but because I use the money to keep Metropolis safe and secure. It's a pain in the ass to keep it clean with my idiot brother having to fight Supes every day."

Informing Ivy that she wouldn't take up Lex's hobby of scheming against superheroes and trying to make a profit from world domination. Deciding to hear her out and have a conversation about how Lex was an idiot with money, Harley made her way past the people to get a chance to talk to him.

"Superman! How's it going? I know you're busy but I'm sure you've got time to speak with the jester who helped save Gotham City from Lex Luthor who sold Earth to a bunch of dinosaurs."

Greeting him as if he were a friend of hers, it made Superman smile at the comment and assured everyone that she wasn't going to cause trouble. He told everyone to check out the museum and speak with the faculty in charge who helped fund it in the first place. Harley smiled at the notion that he wanted to speak with her privately as they made their way outside where they could see the city lighting up the night.

"First off, thanks for the invite. Gotham's been boring after Batman came back from hiding within the League of Shadows. Second? I'm glad that it isn't like your brother's invite. Not that it wasn't fun, but I prefer to have fun that didn't involve anyone blowing up. But only if they deserve it."

She explained about having a good time being here that didn't change out of nowhere leaving her and her friends going on an adventure they didn't want to go on. The red-capped man nodded about that misadventure and how he owed her a lot for saving him and the others when they got captured. The two continued to look at the peaceful city and enjoy the silence that Metropolis could offer that Gotham couldn't.

"I'm going on a sabbatical."

Announcing in a calm manner that made Harley speechless at what he was suggesting. She wanted to run out and tell everyone that their prized protector and the world's greatest hero would take a break from looking after everyone and take some time to himself. He stopped her quickly with his super speed since it was serious.

"Don't worry, I'm going to tell everyone at the party. But I'm telling you this because out of everyone here who sees me as Superman. You out of everyone can see what costumed people for what they are, someone who needs a break. Especially how you've seen my family, I want to spend time with them."

He told her about wanting to be a father to Johnathan and a husband to Lois since it seemed that the two were busy with their careers. Harley looked in the back to see Lois talking with Power Girl and Rocksteady since there was gossip about them being a couple. It was a sign for a former psychiatrist to see that a professional woman needs time off.

"I can somewhat relate to that. I enjoy time off while wanting a bit of excitement, maybe I'll get to see it when the criminals here hear about it."

Responding to the idea of him and Lois going off to act like normal couples with a child that could one-day bench press a truck. Superman looked at Harley to see what her real response was since the first one was just to make the announcement amusing, what he wanted from her was the truth about the decision he was making.

"All I can say is best of luck. And to not fuck it up, because I know from experience that it's important to not get lazy during your vacation."

She told him realistically that it's never fun to take a break when the world needs looking after him, but that doesn't mean he deserves to take it easy once in a while. With them having their conversation and him thanking her for the chance to tell her before anyone else, the two made their way back out to the party where Harley made her to her friends who were talking with one another about the things they'd seen in the museum and people they'd talk too.

"When Bebop asked me to accompany you to this place I thought it was an excuse for you to try and start new problems. But I can be the first to say I was wrong; it's been fun."

Karai told Harley about what she thought about seeing a museum dedicated to one hero who had been idolized by everyone around the world. Harley smiled nervously which gave the impression to the gang about what went on with her conversation with Superman. There was muttering among the people as they saw Superman walking over to an exhibit that held a prized item that was considered important and rare to anything that the museum had collected.

"What you see is a box that holds something that I kept with me since the destruction of my home, Krypton. It was the last thing my parents gave me, to help me remember whenever I went on patrol by myself or with the league."

He told everyone which caught their interest due to how important the mysterious box was to him. The Man of Steel opened it up to reveal what looked like a cape a baby would wear; it was old but had endured the years of being here on Earth.

"While it's already known I'm not the last of my people with the arrivals of my cousins and canine friend. It's also a sign that I need to enjoy the things I couldn't when I was growing up, what it was like to be normal than 'Superman'. Which is why as of this moment I'm taking a vacation and leaving my cousin Power Girl to look after Metropolis."

Announcing to everyone leaving the crowd to take photos and attempt to interview him about this unexpected decision. The rest looked over at Power Girl who was speechless at her cousin giving her the opportunity to protect his home and its people. Rocksteady collapses at the offer since he can tell everyone that he's dating the new protector of Metropolis. Ivy looked at Harley to see what happened during her conversation with the superhero, only for her to smile nervously about the talk knowing it be fun to stick around to watch a friend of theirs take up the job of being the new hero on the block.

Later-Metropolis Penthouse

News had started to flow out of Superman's museum about the Man of Steel's vacation announcement and everyone wanted to know if his cousin could handle the responsibility. With the commotion going on and questions flying around the internet, Harley and the others had been given a penthouse to stay in by Lena Luthor to make amends for what her brother had done to her and Ivy for the last several years. Walking into the penthouse to see it brand new and loaded with the best accommodations that anyone could ask for, Rocksteady smiled at his new living arrangement.

"Not only is my girl going be popular across the city, but I'm going be popular for dating her and hanging out in this place!"

The rhino shouted before checking out his room since Lena had made the penthouse livable for any amount of people. Coming into the room was Harley as well as Bebop and Ivy who felt tired from the opening while wanting to talk about what happened afterwards.

"Yeah. Your girl gets the spotlight, meanwhile. My girlfriend went back to Gotham City since she doesn't think a city as friendly as this would suit her. And told me to stay to make sure you don't fuck it up."

Bebop tells his best friend that Karai decided to retreat back to Gotham since she didn't want to be seen out in the open but remain in the shadows. With the two checking out the place, Harley had opinions about Ivy's conversation with Lena Luthor.

"I don't buy it. She wants you to help make Metropolis green with plants. That's like saying I'm being hired to do a birthday party and having ended up in flames."

Responding to the offer Ivy had been given it could turn out bad for them since their past showed that whatever they got hired for would turn on them. She was right, they've both been manipulated in the past and had to do destroy everything that they've worked for to be successful people.

"Your right, but we need this. A new city, new people to meet and possibly get angry because how amazing we are. It's like a new adventure."

Explaining that while it was unexpected for her to get a job here and decide to find a place to rest at. Metropolis wasn't crime filled like Gotham City and had opportunity for her and the boys to display their talents for the new city. They heard scuffling coming from the kitchen where the couple saw Bebop coming out with a bottle of champagne.

"This drink is about a couple of years old. I don't know about rich people, but the older the beer. The better."

He told them as he handed the ladies and Rocksteady a glass while handing Harley the bottle since it seemed right for her to crack it open. Looking back at the shining city and getting that spark of venturing out with her friends made her smile, it made her realize that Ivy was correct in them needing a new change in scenery. Handing the bottle to Ivy, the two pop it open for the drink to pour into their glasses.

"Better? No, fucking amazing. Because we're moving to the city of tomorrow! And getting back into action!"

She shouted leaving the three to agree before raising their glasses in the air to celebrate their new home as well as the things that were going happen during their stay in Metropolis. From Power Girl's new position as city protector, Ivy working with Lena in making everything greener. They'd have their hands full and not know how to approach it, just how they like it.
