It's honestly crazy to me that I even have to do announcements like this lol but that really is a testament to just how popular this story has become
When Avatar: The Last Airbender first came out on Netflix, it started trending like crazy. I, along with many other people, were doing TikToks about it and going viral. I got to watch my little brother experience the show for the first time, which was priceless. Watching it again after not having seen it in almost 10 years, I found myself feeling like I was 12 again, back during a lonely summer where I was stuck inside with chicken pox watching the entire series from beginning to end twice.
What started out as a random idea has quickly turned into the most successful story I've written so far. I particularly appreciate my readers who have been following from the beginning, as well as those who were willing to read sooo many chapters to get caught up. Especially considering that the first 7 chapters of this story were written with absolutely no plan in mind, I tip my hat to all of you lol you have made this story what it is now
In all honesty, when I set the goal for myself to do 60 chapters (I wanted to match the amount of episodes of the actual show), I thought that Elio was gonna die at the end. For about a month and a half, while I was writing chapters 25-30, I was pretty convinced that Elio would die during the siege. I figured that doing so would complete his arc about giving one's life for a greater cause, and it would mirror Cassian's tragic death in chapter 30.
However, I came to realize that there's too many possibilities that I still want to explore. Elio still hasn't dealt with his family issues, people want to see Elio have more interactions with characters from the actual show like Aang, Zuko, and Azula. I definitely want to make that happen. Not to mention, now that the war is over, Elio's future is looking bright. I've been reading the ATLA comics lately, and the first comic takes place a year after the war, so I have quite a bit of free range to do whatever I want
I say all of this to get to the actual announcement part of this post: in order to get all of this written out and prepared for you, I'm going to have to put Wandering Firebender on hiatus for awhile. I don't know how long it will take for me to get these chapters written out, nor do I know how many chapters I will end up doing. I've started outlining and even working on some of the next chapters, but I really want to take my time with it so it effectively continues the overarching story and themes
In the meantime, I do have other stories that I'm also working on. Now that Wandering Firebender has finally reached its goal, I want to start posting other stories that I've been working on in the background: my MLP Portal series, a new My Hero Academia story, and even a story with Harley Quinn. Those will all be coming out hopefully throughout the next few months, depending on how much I already have done.
If none of those interest you, that's fine too. On Wattpad particularly, I occasionally post updates and ask my followers questions about my stories. I do my best to interact with people and get into discussions if they message me. And I read every comment posted on here. I've probably read every comment on every chapter of Wandering Firebender at least 4 or 5 times lol
Wandering Firebender has really been a gift that keeps on giving for me. I hope that one day when I start publishing my own original works that people will love those books just the same. I've always put everything I've got into all of my story-writing, and I dare say I've gotten pretty good at crafting these things lol
Not just my stories though, seeing people give me love and support as an author has truly been an honor. I'm just some guy on the internet with a lot of ideas lol some of them pan out, some of them don't, but to be able to share my thoughts and my goals with total strangers and have them actually reciprocate with encouragement is something I've never really experienced before, and I truly do appreciate that. So thank you
But enough mushy stuff lol if you follow me on Wattpad, I'll give you occasional updates on how things are going. I'd love to see your messages and comments telling me what you think of the story so far, and things you would like to see in the future.
