Chapter 8. This will be the last gal introduced. Also I reveal my plans for Kevin and Gwen. I want them to be happy and I'm not really a fan of when people do these types of fics, they break up Kevin and Gwen so they can put her with Ben. It's not my place to judge but I just don't vibe with Bwen. I'm also not adding Xylene as that would betray Max. But I have a very wholesome chapter planned next and a good introduction for Charmcaster. I will be changing the whole reason she's evil. I hope you all enjoy!!!
Chapter 8: A Charming Day To Be Alive
Plumber Base
10:00 A.M.
Ben was in the Hanger of the base, getting his new ship ready for the mission. He and his squad, Echo Team, were going on a delivery mission for Cargo. Joining him on this mission was Kevin and Gwen. Rook wouldn't be able to join them this time as he had other things to deal with. He finally made a decision with Rayona and she was moving to Earth, so he went to help her. Ben got changed into the uniform that was gifted to him. It was a beautiful black leather suit with green lining. On the chest was a symbol of the Plumbers.
(It looks similar to the GOTG uniforms in Vol. 3 and the ship looks like the Milano in the GOTG game)
He did prep as his team and friends arrived.
Kevin and Gwen started to laugh.
Ben looked at himself. "What's wrong?"
Kevin snickered. "Nice uniform, Tennyson."
Ben huffed. "It was a gift." He said very proud of his spiffy new uniform.
Helen straightened a button. "I think he looks cute." She kissed his cheek
Ester agreed. "And very dashing"
Gwen giggled. "You both have to say that because you're dating him."
Shar replied. "That is pretty accurate."
Ben rolled his eyes. "Let's get going. I would like to make this delivery and get back home for dinner. Mazuma is making meatloaf tonight."
The crew boarded the ship. But Kevin was suspicious of Jon and pulled Ben aside.
"I don't trust that guy with the scar." Kevin told Ben.
Ben replied. "Jon? He's one of our best agents."
Kevin said. "I just get a bad feeling about him. I'm keeping an eye on him."
Ben rolled his eyes. "You're too paranoid, Kev. He's given us no reason to distrust him or be suspicious. He's a good guy and has saved me a lot of times."
Kevin said. "Just be careful, dude. I don't want you to get stabbed in the back."
Ben nodded. "Thanks for looking out for me but it's alright. Now…let's get to it."
When they got on the ship, the two guys heard Helen and Ester squeal in excitement.
"You're pregnant?!" Ester squealed.
That made Ben quite confused.
"Wait, what?" He asked aloud.
Gwen sighed but smiled. "Yes yes...me and Kev are having a baby…" She told them all, looking over at Kevin and Ben.
Kevin put his arm around Ben and replied. "And...we want you to be the godfather."
Ben was in disbelief.
Gwen smirked. "So…what do you say...doofus?"
Ben nodded, smiling back. "I'd be honored...dweeb."
The two cousins hugged, something they rarely ever had done as kids. Gwen and Ben had both grown up so much in the last few years it was hard to imagine they ever couldn't stand the sight of one another without arguing.
Helen gasped. "We have gotta plan a baby shower!"
"Oh yes! Please let us help you, Gwen." Ester squealed in delight at the idea.
Both girls begged the new soon to be mother.
Gwen giggled. "Sure but you may have to fight my mom on that when we tell her."
"You haven't told Uncle Frank and Aunt Natilie yet?" Ben asked a bit in shock.
Gwen shook her head. "No not yet, we wanted to have a big party and tell everyone there. It's this weekend."
Ben smiled. "Please tell me I'm invited."
Gwen rolled her eyes, smiling. "No." She said sarcastically, before laughing. "Of course you are, just tell your girlfriends to behave at it."
Ester and Helen gasped.
"I'm not that bad…anymore." Ester admitted
Ben said. "It'll be good. I can't wait for the family to meet my lovers as well."
The ship was started up and took off into the sky.
Ben had set it on autopilot and felt a pain in his stomach. He made his way to the bathroom and locked the door.
He groaned to himself as he looked in the mirror. "Get ahold of yourself, Ben…" He reached in the medicine cabinet for painkillers when he saw a familiar white haired woman behind him.
He jumped as he saw her. "Charmcaster??!!"
Yep! It was her. She wore a magenta coat with purple ends. She had purple boots with heels and black straps. She had a magical bag and two gold earrings on each ear. Her hair was white with purple highlights. She had eye makeup that looked like the eyes of Horus. She had a nice hourglass figure but was also petite.
She giggled. "Hello Tennyson." She went to shake his hand but accidentally slipped on the rug he had in the bathroom. She ended up on top of him with their bodies touching. Ben blushed as well as Charmcaster.
They got up, their faces red and Ben finally asked. "What do you want? I thought you were…off ruling your home dimension."
C.C sighed. "I was but…someone stole a great rune of value to me. One that can…purge my body of the evil that's affecting me."
Ben was confused. "What are you talking about?"
She sighed. "It's one of the reasons I'm evil…why it fuels my hateful feelings towards you and Gwendolyn…I want to be free and live a better life."
She looked at her bag, "Oh don't even dare you little trolls! Nu…uh...Oh it was too your fault. You corrupted me!!"
Ben raised an eyebrow. "Oooooook?" He said confused
She sighed and put the bag away. "I need your help…to be honest, I've always admired your courage and kindness."
Ben was still slightly weirded out. "How do I know you won't try and kill us?" He asked.
C.C replied. "I have changed…Gwen will know if I attack...and if I do…you all can put me down. But I'm tired of living like this…please, Ben…please." She begged, practically pleading with him.
Ben sighed. "Only on one condition. After we help you…you join our side."
C.C nodded and hugged Ben tightly. Ben blushed, but hugged back.
They left the bathroom and Ben brought her to the group. "Hey guys…look who I found?" He said nervously.
Gwen stood up and her hands lit up with her mana powers. Kevin touched the floor and became encoated with metal.
Ben stood in front of C.C. "Wait!!!"
Gwen growled. "Ben, that's Charmcaster. You remember what she's done to us..."
Ben said. "At least hear her out."
They nodded and stood down as Charmcaster explained her story.
Gwen laughed and raised an eyebrow. "You expect us to believe that sob story?"
C.C sighed. "I know I have done terrible things to you three but…I want to change..this curse...it's torn my life apart…" There were tears streaming down her cheeks.
Gwen looked at Ben and face palmed. "Fine…we'll help you...but one wrong move and we will put you down."
C.C smiled. "Thank you...all I ask for is a chance."
"And you'll get one but you have to prove you want to change." Ben replied.
C.C. nodded and she sat down.
The group talked amongst themselves. Ben talked with Charmcaster about everything in general. "So...you're a dad now and have multiple lovers…that's something I never expected from you, Benny~" the sorceress teased him.
Ben chuckled. "Ya...a lot has happened in the past few months, Charmcaster.."
"Call me Hope…it's my real name…" She told him, smiling.
Ben nodded. "Alright…Hope"
She chuckled.
Then she spoke to the bag…again. "Oh don't you even dare. What??!! No I don't!!"
Suddenly the ship began to shake. Alarms were going off. Everyone grabbed on as the ship crashed on a nearby world.
Ben groaned as he stood up, holding his side. "Everyone okay?"
Everyone groaned a yes.
Ben opened the hatch and looked out. It was a forest world and in the center, was a large pink tornado of energy.
Hope stood beside him. "There it is…that's where the rune is..."
Ben nodded. "Well…let's go get it." He turned the dial on the Omnitrix and transformed into Swampfire.
He was confused. "What? I was nowhere near Swampfire. I wanted Four Arms. Whatever…" He turned to his team. "Alright. Kevin, stay and work on the ship. Echo Squad, you're on guard duty."
Kroh did a salute. "Yes sir!!"
Scout nodded. "You can count on us sir."
Shar nodded. "We will not disappoint you, beloved." She kissed his cheek.
Ben smiled. "Ester, stay with the ship. Helen, come with us."
And so, Helen, Ben and Hope set out to retrieve the rune. With it, they could cure Hope.
Helen and Hope talked to each other as Ben led them.
Helen asked. "So you swapped bodies with Ben when he was 10?"
Hope replied. "Body swap was a side effect. I tried to get the Omnitrix but..it didn't work."
Ben shuddered. "It was terrible...but…even then, I had some feelings for Hope."
Hope smiled. "Aw you're a sweetheart, Benny"
Helen said. "Wait, really? You had a crush on this crazy chick?"
Ben said. "What can I say? I always had a thing for...abnormal gals~". He smirked
Both girls blushed.
A vine then came from the ground grabbing the trio. Ben used his flames to burn the vines. "Run!!!" Ben told the two women and they ran. The Omnitrix timed out and Ben turned human. A vine grabbed him, Helen and Hope, which restrained them. From the tornado, came a figure wearing a metal mask.
This was an old enemy by the name of Darkstar.
He chuckled. "You really got desperate, didn't you, Hope?" He touched her cheek but Hope moved away.
Darkstar looked. "I take it you're here for this." He pulled out a rune that had a Nordic symbol on it.
He held in front of Hope, teasing her. Hope tried to get it but she was stuck on the vines.
Darkstar looked at Ben. "Don't think I haven't forgotten about you, Tennyson."
Ben scoffed. "Oh I hope not, tin head. Because when I get free, I'm cooking your ass."
Helen was able to get her tail free and it was in range of the Omnitrix.
Ben and Darkstar continued to bash each other with words as Helen smacked her tail over and pressed the dial. Ben was enveloped in green light and turned into Swampfire again. This time he looked different as his build was bulkier, his green was more of a mint and he had red leaves on his shoulders. Ben was shocked. "Swampfire again?! Well gotta make it work." He then used his flames to burn the vines, freeing the trio.
Darkstar took a step back and using the power of the rune, he conjured vine monsters from the ground and retreated back. "Get them!!!" He said as he ran away.
Ben began to blast the monsters, incinerating them. Helen began to speed blitz a good majority of them and Hope sent out mana blasts, obliterating them.
But they kept coming
Ben said. "There's too many of them!!!" He turned human and turned the dial. Once again turning into Swampfire. He once again looked different as his face was more yellow and red, his fingers turned into claws and his body became more green. "What is up with Swampfire?!"
He then released a fire flare that obliterated the rest of them.
He turned human and ran to Helen and Hope. "Are you two ok?" He asked worriedly.
Helen nodded. "Yeah…just tired…what were those things?"
"They're creatures controlled by mana….a subspecies from Lunar Transyl…somehow Micheal learned to control them." Hope replied.
Ben nodded as he held his side. The pain was coming back.
Helen noticed this and touched his cheek. "Are you ok, Ben? You look in pain…" She asked, she was worried about him.
Ben nodded. "Yeah..I probably just pulled a muscle…I'll be fine." He kissed her forehead.
Hope watched and smiled. She had never really saw Ben's softer side. She always knew he was a good guy and a kind one but she was always blinded by hatred… perhaps she could have another chance when she purged this evil.
Hope interrupted. "I'm sorry to break up the smooching session but…we should get going." She blushed slightly.
Helen and Ben nodded and separated. But as Helen walked in front of Ben, he gave her ass a playful smack. Helen yelped and looked at Ben, who had a playful smirk on his face.
Helen chuckled. "Oh just wait till we get home~"
Ben smirked playfully. "Looking forward to it."
They made their way closer to the tornado, where Darkstar was standing. He said. "I was hoping you would make it. We have a score to settle, especially with my ex."
He turned to face them. "Why did you have to turn against me, Charmcaster? I gave you everything."
Hope scoffed. "You were a terrible boyfriend!! You used me for my powers and tried to steal my life force!! You're nothing but a grimy little parasite and you won't make it to torment others again." She tried to blast Darkstar but he summoned his vine monsters. The trio became surrounded. Helen tried to speed out but she was overwhelmed by the monsters, as was Hope. Ben tried to transform but the pain was too great. He dropped to the ground.
No, this couldn't be it. This wasn't how Ben 10 was supposed to die!!! He was powerless...he could only watch as his companions were overrun.
Darkstar chuckled. "So long Tennyson." He turned to walk away but then….the monsters stopped. He was confused and looked at where Ben was as there was a green glow.
It exploded and there was…Swampfire. He was taller, his arms literally built like green tree trunks and his body was more bulky. His skin was light green and his fingers were glowing yellow claws. He had thorns on his elbows, knees and knuckles. His feet were built like the trunks of trees. His face was yellow, red and orange, with his eyes green. He looked at himself. "Whoa!!!" He looked at the monsters as they stopped. Helen and Hope were freed and in shock at Ben. He then pointed at Darkstar. "Get him!!" Ben commanded.
The monsters began to overtake Darkstar. He tried to absorb and blast them but there too many. Hope smirked as she approached. She began to cast a spell and Darkstar was enveloped in a pink light. When it dissolved, in Darkstars place was a mini statue of him. Hope picked it up and put it in her bag.
Ben watched her. "Now..we have to deal with that tornado..."
Hope nodded. "You might want to stand back..." She began to mutter an incantation and it was bright.
Ben turned human and stood in front of Helen to protect her in case Hope pulled something.
It subsided and Hope stood there, holding a rune. She began to tear up, holding the very instrument that caused her pain.
Ben approached slowly, taking caution.
Hope looked at him, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Ben asked. "Now that you have it..what will you do now?"
She then hugged Ben tightly as she broke down, years of emotional distress coming out. Ben returned the hug, stroking her back. "It's ok….let it out.." Ben told her calmly.
"Thank you…you had no reason to trust me yet you did...you saved my life, Ben…" Hope said as she touched his cheek.
Ben touched her hand softly and smiled. "It's what I do…."
"I'm sorry for everything I've done to you…to your family.I want to start again…with you…" Hope said hopeful.
Ben smiled. "And I want that too…"
He looked at Helen and she nodded, giving approval.
He kissed Hope, with her returning the same passion. When the kiss broke, he said. "Welcome to the family."
Hope smiled and held the rune. "Let's get back…the sooner I remove the curse, the better"
Ben nodded and the trio returned to the ship.
The crew was outside waiting. Gwen looked up. "Ben!!" She ran and hugged him. Ben hugged his cousin back
Ester and Shar hugged him as well. Ben smiled. "We're okay."
When they got back on the ship, Ben explained what happened as Hope began to set up the ritual.
Kevin was confused. "How did Micheal Morningstar get here?"
Ben shrugged. "Beats me but Hope now has what she needed…"
Gwen nodded and went over to Hope. "Ready to purge your body of this evil?"
Hope nodded. "Yes...it's all ready...once it's finished, we have to contain the rune. It can't get out or else it'll affect someone else."
The two women sat down and began to say the incantation as their eyes began to glow pink.
Ben stood back with the team and his lovers. It was a huge energy output as the ship began to shake. It got stronger as the two continued the ritual. There was a bright light and the rune had a pink glow to it. Hope had passed out on the floor as Gwen put the rune into a box.
Ben ran over to Hope as she groaned. He helped her up. "Are you okay?" He asked and touched her cheek.
She laughed weakly. "Peachy, dear..." She touched his hand.
He smiled. "Please don't scare me like that again…"
"No promises but I'll try..." Hope said, smiling weakly
He took her to the private room to get some rest.
When Ben returned, he talked with Shar, Ester, and Helen about Hope.
"As long as it's a mutual love, she can join. We already have a former villain in our love nest. " Helen explained.
Ben nodded. "But we gotta keep an eye on her. She looks drained and she may need a while to recover."
Shar held his arm and cuddled into him. "We trust you, beloved. Just please be careful…"
Ester held his other arm. "And don't forget to give us some love too..."
Ben smiled. "I'd never neglect my girls." He held them close.
The rest of the mission went smoothly as they delivered the item to the Plumber base in space. It was a weapon cache for the new recruits. When they were on the way home, Ben called his home number on the monitor. Attea answered. "Hey handsome~" She flirted.
Ben smiled. "Hey, my lily pad. How's everything going at home?"
Attea sighed. "Not very good. Our little girl is not feeling well and wants her daddy."
Ben nodded. "We will be home soon. Once we finish debriefing, we will be straight home."
Jon interjected. "Don't worry, Commander. You can go ahead and go home once we land. I'll debrief Magister Tennyson and do the report. Your family comes first." He touched Ben's shoulder.
Ben smiled. "Thank you, Jon."
Attea smiled. "Can't wait to see you." She kissed the screen and hung up.
Ben felt very happy and loved.
When the ship landed, Ben went and got changed. He put his suit in his locker. Ester, Shar and Helen did the same. On the way out, Max stopped Ben. "I almost forgot, Ben. Your grandmother is coming next week. She wants to help you with...your new abilities."
Ben nodded. "I won't forget. Jon will also debrief you and write the report as I have a family emergency."
Max raised his hand. "Say less. Go tend to your family. Take the rest of the week off. I have a feeling you'll need it." He smiled as he pointed to Hope, who was on Ben's shoulder.
Ben nodded. "Thanks, Grandpa. I'll call you later."
Max smiled and let them leave.
Ben took his lovers to their vehicle. It was a larger means of transportation to fit the whole group. He still had his car but he kept it at home.
The group got in and Ben drove them home, stopping by the store to get a few things for Evie. Ginger ale, Cheez-its and cozy blanket. The girls were confused until Ben explained what they were for.
They arrived home and when they entered, Attea was face down on the couch and Mazuma was sitting on a chair. Looma was upstairs trying to calm the sick child but it was no use. She came downstairs and looked at Ben. "She wants you, beloved…"
Ben nodded. "Time for the dad instincts to kick in." He went upstairs, carrying the supplies with him.
Helen looked at the others. "Let's hope he can soothe her..." The others nodded.
Ben entered his daughter's bedroom. The little alien girl was crying as she was curled up. She looked up at her dad and held her arms out.
Ben picked up his little girl and gently rocked her. She held onto him, whimpering. Ben lied on the bed with her and began to sing a lullaby to the sick child.
"You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take
My sunshine away"
Evie slowly fell asleep as Ben sang softly and sweetly to her.
"Please don't take
My sunshine...away…"
When she was out, he gently tucked her in and kissed her forehead. When he came downstairs, his lovers were there, smiling.
Ben said. "What's wrong?"
Looma gently squatted as she kissed his cheek. "You're such a good father, beloved…"
Ester smiled. "So kind"
Helen added. "So caring"
Shar also said. "You are no longer that arrogant boy who thought he was superior."
Hope smiled. "You've become a great man we've grown to love."
Attea said. "Despite our history and what we've done, you gave us a second chance."
Mazuma finished with." Not just life…but also at…love."
Ben smiled. "Well, you've all captured my heart...and it's grown so much more…I count myself as a lucky man to have all of you in my life...and I promise I will always do right."
Attea smirked. "Oh we know you will, and…we think you deserve a reward~" She and the others dragged him to their room for some…fun
And so the night concluded with Ben in the center of the bed, surrounded and cuddled with his lovers.

And that's Chapter 8. It is my longest yet. For now, the love nest is closed as I believe it has enough. But still, don't let that stop with suggestions. I have been considering Rojo or Swift. But for now, it's settled. Thank you for reading. Chapter 9 will be a wholesome chapter with all our gals and the Tennyson family. But Chapter 10…it's going to be different. See y'all soon!!
