Pokémon: Pokédex no Isekai
Chapter One: A beginning that undoes an end
The world still couldn't believe it. Team Scorn, the multi-region criminal organization that had been running roughshod for ages, the very group of criminals that were just as bad if not arguably worse than the now long defunct Team Rocket, was now gone. Defeated, wholly wiped out for good. The goodly people of the world were now able to breathe a sigh of relief, as well as celebrate a world now free of Team Scorn.
But the victory over Team Scorn had a steep cost. Much damage had been caused, at least two entire lands rendered uninhabitable for the foreseeable future, and an unknown number of lives, both human and Pokémon alike, had been lost. The goodly people of the world had more than just celebrating and relaxing to do. They also had to do some healing, also had to do some mourning. The final struggle against Team Scorn...
...was scornful.
But there was still celebrating being done. No trainer was more celebrated throughout the world than Ideku Badorigo, Champion of Hoenn and Monarch of the World Coronation Series. It had been Ideku who dealt the final, critical blow to Team Scorn, his own agent having slipped in and worked her way up to get him info from within. Ideku and his agent had a LOT of acting to do to make sure their cover wasn't blown.
And they pulled it off with ample aplomb. Now the name of Ideku Badorigo had gone down in the annals of history, a name to be remembered for all time as the greatest of heroes to have ever lived. But although the heroism of Ideku Badorigo was indeed very great, he was far from the only hero who fought the good fight against Team Scorn in the final fight against them, a fight that took place in Ideku's homeland of the Johto region.
Among the great heores who helped the greatest hero were siblings Dawn and Trip Berlitz, their friend Kenny Harris, and Kenny's girlfriend Mina. The four of them are very great trainers in their own right, and some would say are individually stronger overall than Ideku. But it was Ideku who had led things and defeated the true ultimate boss of Team Scorn, bringing said boss's evil to an end once and for all.
Ideku, along with Dawn and Trip and Kenny and Mina and all other heroic trainers who fought against the evil of Team Scorn were now going to be enjoying a much needed period of rest and relaxation. But even after that, Dawn and her group, secretly being reincarnates who had all been reborn into the world of Pokémon, still had stuff on their plate to do, although their next big journey was going to be a vacation in its own right, a quest being done for fun.
They were going to work on completing the Pokédex.
They got every species of Pokémon from the now ruined region of Paldea, as well as areas in Kitakami which is also now ruined, registered as caught. Now the reborn trainers were wanting to get EVERY species of Pokémon registered as caught between the four of them. It would be a very momentous undertaking, but with peace in the world now and more time on hand than they knew what to do with, the reborn trainers were ready for the challenge.
It would be grand, to see a Pokédex in this world actually fully completed.
...
"So we're gonna have to use Deelia's ability to warp us to and from various periods of time to get to Hisui and catch what all species of Pokémon are exclusive there," Trip said.
"Wait, what about Enamorus?" Mina asked, "Even if we're somehow able to catch it in the past and bring it back with us, how would that mess with the timeline we know? Ideku caught Enamorus here in the present, remember? What will happen to it if we catch it in the past?"
"We'll save getting Enamorus registered as caught for when we convince Ideku to touch trade with us so we can get Enamorus and Zekrom registered as caught," Kenny said, "Likewise, we're gonna have to convince Ayane to touch trade Eternatus to us so we can get that registered as caught."
"Luckily for us," Dawn began, "I drew up some lists of what all Pokémon we don't have registered as caught between the four of us. They're organized by region, so we can cross them off one at a time. I left the task of Hisui's list to Trip."
When the other reborn trainers saw the lists that Dawn (and Trip for the Hisui list) got out, Kenny said, "Hot damn! We're gonna cringe up a storm the likes of which the world has never known!"
"I say we start with taking care of the Kanto Pokémon list first," Dawn said, "Partly because I want to get a Kantonian Arcanine."
"Ooh, regional variants are a thing, I forgot," Mina said.
With a mildly amused smirk, Dawn went on, "Well luckily I remembered to include all variant forms for species that have them. Don't worry, I got this all figured out."
"Woot!" Kenny cheered, pumping both of his fists into the air, "We're gonna be completing the national Pokédex for ALL of the regions! We're actually going to be catching them all! Eat your heart out, Ash!"
"Hey now, don't go dissing Ash Ketchum," Trip said. Dawn smirked at that; in Trip's previous life, he was a mid-teens girl named Piper whose anime husbando is Ash. Dawn was Piper's older brother Don. The whims of isekai can be a pain in the fanny to deal with sometimes. But at least they all got a second chance at life. And they're working in the world of Pokémon. How cool is that?
As soon as Dawn and the other reborn trainers were ready, they got what all stuff they wanted to bring from Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh on board of their flying ship given to them by Princess Salvia, a flying ship comparable to the one used by the Rising Volt Tacklers. A flying ship that was technically Dawn's property, but she in a moment of questionable judgement had allowed Kenny to give it the name that it now proudly bares.
The Jelly-Filled Donut.
Dawn called for a team meeting on board of The Jelly-Filled Donut where all of the crew was present. In addition to Dawn and her fellow reborn trainers, there was also Heath the helmsman, Sho who is an engineer, Mitch the guard, John the medic, Lance the cook (it's not Indigo Champion Lance), Rhyanna, Leona, and Heath's niece Omiyo.
At the meeting, Dawn told the crew about the next mission that they would be undertaking. "You, Trip, Kenny, and Mina are going to try to get EVERY species of Pokémon registered as caught between the four of you?" Heath asked, and he wasn't the only person at the meeting who looked rather surprised.
"Even for a group of four persons working together," Sho said, "That's still quite the task. You sure that you guys can handle it?"
"And what of certain species of unique Pokémon already owned?" Rhyanna asked, "How will you catch those if others already caught them?"
"We have a plan for everything," Dawn replied, "Now, to begin with, we're going to go after the species of Pokémon first known in the Kanto region."
"Oh, that's Ash's homeland," Leona spoke up.
Trip nodded in the affirmative. "Indeed it is. Once we're done in Kanto, we're gonna hit up Johto, then after that we'll go in order to Hoenn, finish up Sinnoh, then to Unova, then Kalos, then Alola, and then Galar before we have to use secret powers we're not exactly at liberty to discuss in order to get a hold of Pokémon from the Hi-"
"Oh, there's a breaking news bulletin about an interview with Ideku," Omiyo said as she was working with a smartphone, "Ooh, apparently the interview didn't go over too well."
Perking up, Dawn asked, "What happened?"
Gesturing to her smartphone, Omiyo explained, "The interview happened at Blackthorn City Academy in the Johto region, and there one of the boys in the homeroom class of Ideku's late older brother Katsuku not only had found and brought in Ideku's parents to see the interview, he also told Ideku's parents about the orgy that Katsuku, Sarah, Justin, and Amanda had, and told them the truth of Baby Justin's parentage."
"What?!" Kenny exclaimed, "That classmate exposed Ideku to the last people he ever wanted to be exposed to AND disrespected the late Katsuku by telling his parents something he never wanted them to know about?!"
Nodding once, Omiyo went on, "Now the parents of Ideku and the late Katsuku are wanting to at least have rights to see who they now know is their grandson. Mrs. Badorigo had even gone so far as to say she and her husband may sue to gain custody of their grandson."
"Does the news article you're reading say which classmate it was who basically ruined what all Ideku and his late older brother worked hard to keep from their parents?" Trip asked.
Looking to the news article, Omiyo replied, "According to the late Katsuku's still living best friend Justin who Baby Justin is named after, the guilty classmate is a short lispy pervert who none of the girls in their year at Blackthorn City Academy like. Said short lispy perverted classmate is also being suspected of using his Pokémon for... EWWWWWWWWW!"
Leona who sat next to Omiyo leaned to her side and read the article as well. "...Oh that is just plain nasty," Leona scowled, "If that's true, then the classmate ought to be expelled from Blackthorn City Academy and then arrested for Poképhilia."
"So the Mineta of the group there ruined everything," Kenny surmised, "Good to know."
Rhyanna, looking confused, asked, "Who's Mineta?"
Gently shaking her head, Dawn replied, "That's just Kenny's way of summing things up, Rhyanna. No need to worry about it." Dawn then turned her attention to Omiyo. "What else does the news article say about the interview at Blackthorn City Academy? Does it say how Ideku reacted to his parents being brought in and them being told something that Katsuku had never wanted either of them to know about?"
"It says that one interviewer could tell that it looked like it took everything that Ideku had to not blow a gasket during the interview when the Blackthorn City Academy student brought in the Badorigo parents," Omiyo said, "Before said student revealed to them that they are grandparents. A DNA test had been run and it confirmed the parentage of Baby Justin."
"Why would the Mineta of the group do all of that?!" Kenny exclaimed, "Does he WANT all of his peers at school to hate him?!"
Shrugging, Trip said, "Your guess is as good as mine, dude."
Sighing, Dawn said, "Forget going to Kanto to begin the quest of getting every Pokémon registered as caught. Ideku is a friend of ours and we need to go see him as he's clearly going through a lot right now because of some perverted little troll who needs to be punished for revealing things that he should not have revealed, as well as bringing in folks who Ideku by no means ever wanted to speak to or see ever again."
The rest of the crew of The Jelly-Filled Donut all nodded in agreement, and with a course of action in mind that was slightly different from what Dawn was originally planning on, the flying ship took off for the Johto region where Ideku was still located due to the trip for the interview. He was a hero in need, a champion in need.
A friend in need.
Later in Blackthorn City in the Johto region, the reborn trainers met up with their old friend Ideku Badorigo, who was staying at a dorm building on Blackthorn City Academy grounds. "...So yeah, she can't return to Blackthorn City Academy right now," Colleen said in regards to Ayane, "Even with the reveal she'd been doing deep undercover work to help bring down Team Scorn, her presence is a bit of a hot button."
"And yet we'd all still prefer her vastly so over the un-manly little turd who decided to bring in the parents of Katsu-bro and his brother Ideku," Justin said, "Also said un-manly little turd told the Badorigo parents about Baby Justin and the truth of his parentage despite Katsu-bro never wanting his parents to know about it."
A bunch of angry glares turned to look at a short of stature boy in Justin's and Colleen's homeroom class. "I was never told about Katsuku's parents or the fact that they weren't supposed to ever find out that they're grandparents!" defended the short of stature boy, "How was I supposed to know if I'm always kept out of the loop?!"
Letting out a troubled sigh, Dawn said, "We... can go over that business later." To the students and Ideku as a whole, Dawn asked, "Now, what's the current status of the case around Baby Justin?"
"So far, the persons who brought me into this world haven't made any progress yet in getting to so much as see Baby Justin," Ideku began, "But they are persistent. They've even gone so far as to try to invoke my name to get legal support on their side, but I shut things down there." Signing, Ideku went on, "Unfortunately, it had made the news that I'm refusing to lend any aid to my parents to help them with getting to see Baby Justin."
"Is that bad?" Kenny asked.
"Ideku is a world famous hero who led the effort that saved the world from Team Scorn," Colleen pointed out, "He's got a very good reputation. But it's taken some scratches because his parents had tried using his reputation to bully their way into getting what they want but Ideku shut them both down before they could have made any progress."
"Now the media of the regions of the world are wondering why I'm refusing to help my parents get to see their grandchild," Ideku went on, "I'm going to have to bite the bullet and reveal all of exactly why I'm so against my parents. I'm also going to have to reveal the wishes of my late older brother who was also against their foul mistreatment of me."
"But that'll open up a whole other new can of Wurmples that is bound to get into the media," Justin said, "And it's hella un-manly, you know? Ideku had just become the greatest hero the world had ever known, and not two weeks have passed since then before someone does something to mess with the good rep that Ideku had made for himself!"
Again, a bunch of angry eyes turned to look at the short of stature boy. "I keep telling you guys, none of you had told me to not bring in Katsuku's parents like that!" the short of stature boy shot back, "I had no idea that what I did wasn't something that I was supposed to do! I thought that I had been doing a good thing by surprising Ideku at the interview with his and Katsuku's parents and telling them they're grandparents!"
"The last time you were trusted in a similar situation with a secret," Justin said to the short of stature boy, "You used it to blackmail one of the girls into letting you do your hella un-manly creep stuff towards her. How were we supposed to trust you with not blackmailing Ideku?"
"He's not a girl so how can I have fun with him?" the short of stature boy shot back, only to draw things being thrown at him by angry female classmates.
After the pelting session ended, Dawn asked, "Is there any chance that Johto region law can help make sure that the late Katsuku's wishes will be respected?"
Sighing, Colleen replied, "It's... not likely, I'm afraid. Johto region law takes the matter of family being able to contact one another very seriously. Unless the person we don't want Ideku's parents getting to see says he doesn't wanna see them, then it's highly likely the Badorigo parents will get their way in the end."
"The person they wanna see is a baby who can't talk yet, nor does he have any ability to reason," Trip pointed out, "How can he say he doesn't wanna see his grandparents?"
"Wait, Sarah's the mom of Baby Justin," Mina pointed out, "Doesn't she have any say in the matter?"
"To a degree, yes," Colleen replied, "And she has told her parents all about Katsuku's and Ideku's parents, so they're aware of just how awful the Badorigo parents are. But the Badorigo parents can and have been playing the sob story card about wanting to see their late son's only child. They've also been trying to use Ideku's reputation and Ideku being their son to help grease the wheel to make things go smoothly for them."
Dawn let out a troubled sigh. "So when you get right down to it, there's no way that we can get out of this without letting Ideku and Katsuku's parents see Baby Justin, unless we're willing to let things get dragged out into a circus show of legal battles that'll cause bad marks onto Ideku's world hero reputation because his parents without his consent decided to use it as leverage."
Shrugging, Kenny said, "Can't we just-"
"Chances are that you're gonna suggest something illegal and or very dangerous," Trip cut in, "So the answer is no."
As Kenny scowled, Ideku let out a troubled, resigned sigh. "This is just more of my parents proving that they don't care for the thoughts and feelings of others that could be affected. They only care for their own end, and they'll tear down and ruin what all stands between them and what they want, no matter what happens as a result. They aren't gonna be happy when I go into detail about what all I had gone through under them." Gently shaking his head, Ideku went on, "And neither will I."
As Justin and Colleen's classmates and peers tried to make Ideku feel better, aside from the short stature boy who Kenny told to eff off for 'being a Mineta', the reborn trainers took off from the dorm building, saying they're going to let Ideku try to get some rest before they next try to speak with him. They wished him the best of luck in trying to get through the storm that was caused by the short stature boy not knowing better.
...
"So what all exactly had happened with Ideku in his past?" Mina asked. She and the other reborn trainers, as The Jelly-Filled Donut flew from Blackthorn City, were in the meeting room on board of the flying ship. Mina knew very little about Ideku's history, so she wanted some clarification on the subject so that she could be of better help.
Letting out a sigh, Dawn said, "Long story short, Ideku's life was made into hell for him by his parents when he and Katsuku were growing up because he was an unexpected child who strained their budget despite them getting frisky being entirely on them. They blatantly favored Katsuku over him, made him give up stuff to Katsuku, made Ideku give up the opportunity to challenge the Johto League when he won it a little over five years ago because he beat Katsuku in the final round of the Johto League Conference that year-"
"Why weren't their bullshit ways reported, like, ever?!" Mina cut in, practically burning with righteous fury, "That's some messed up sordid doggy brothel peep-show bullshit!"
"I dunno, maybe things being reported in Johto aren't always clear," Trip said, "Although I wouldn't put it past Ideku's parents if they had manipulated things back then to make sure that word of their rather poor treatment of Ideku never got out."
Pounding a fist into her hand, Mina declared, "I cannot stand by and let this bullshit go unaddressed! Ideku's parents must be made to pay for what they had done!"
"But babe," Kenny began, "They're already in a legal battle that'll make all sides, including theirs, come out looking worse for ware no matter what. What more can we do?"
Gesturing to Trip, Mina said to the other reborn trainers as a whole, "We make it so that the utter crud Ideku's parents forced onto him never gets very far in the first place. Luckily for us, Trip with his Dialga can help us with that."
Dawn, who immediately caught onto what Mina was cooking, went wide eyed with shocked surprise. "You want to use the time travel and manipulation powers of Dialga to go back in time to alter the course of history?!" Dawn said, "Mina, no! It's already risky when we went back in time to the Hisuian period of Sinnoh's history! We're lucky we were essentially tourists on all occasions and didn't take anything with us we didn't bring along!"
"My sister has a point," Trip said, "You're talking about directly affecting the past of a very notable person to a notable degree. What if, after we get back from the past if we do what you say, things when we get back are worse?"
"What if we get back to a time where Team Scorn wins in the end because we decided to follow your advice and mess with the past of the guy who defeated the big bad evil guy who had led Team Scorn?" Dawn asked.
Folding her arms over her chest, Mina said, "So you're saying that you're all okay with Ideku having lived a messed up childhood at the hands of toxic, abusive parents."
Dawn and Trip wanted to argue, but Mina brought up a point. "Mina does have us there, dudes," said Kenny with a shrug.
"But is it a point worth potentially messing up the timeline for?!" Dawn replied, "I agree that it sucks major Snorlax ass that Ideku was forced to grow up in the life that he had. Hell, it's a miracle that he didn't go villain from all of that injustice. But this is going back in time and altering events back in history that we're talking about here! There's a reason why we don't use time travel to undo and get rid of every problem!"
Holding her hands up at shoulder level with the palms facing forward, Mina said, "I'll tell you what. If the timeline's fucked up after we get back from fixing Ideku's past to make his childhood growing up better, I'll cook up and eat my shoes that I'm wearing."
"I'll hold you to that, sweetness," Kenny said, a hint of firm seriousness in his tone. Mina and Kenny then turned to look at Dawn and Trip, giving the Berlitz siblings looks that made it clear that they wanted them to go along with it.
Scowling, Dawn said, "You guys really wanna mess with history."
"Dude, all we'll be doing is going back in time and revealing the abuse of the Badorigo parents towards Ideku way early," Kenny said, "I doubt that much will change. And if it does, then I hope we have teriyaki sauce, because Imma cook up and eat my shoes too but I wanna give them a very nice teriyaki sauce basting first before roasting them."
Shrugging, Trip said to Dawn, "The saddest part about Kenny's declaration is that if he is proven wrong about there being no major changes, he actually WILL eat his shoes."
"With the teriyaki sauce baste," Kenny noted.
Dawn sighed in a resigned tone. She REALLY didn't wanna screw with the timeline any, but it was looking like she was going to be in the minority of the voting. "...I just hope that this doesn't mess with our quest to complete the Pokédex," Dawn said, finally giving in despite being worried about what would happen if messing with time was done.
Due to being unable to get a hold of Ideku to ask him for details, the reborn trainers instead reached out to Indigo League Champion Lance. They ended up having to make The Jelly-Filled Donut make a U-Turn to go back to Blackthorn City as Champion Lance was there, visiting his cousin Clair who is the Blackthorn City gym leader.
Without telling Champion Lance or Clair what they were up to, the reborn trainers asked Lance if he knew of the date when Ideku won the first Johto League Conference that he entered, the one where he beat his late older brother Katsuku in the final round. That date was the earliest date that they could think of in regards to Ideku's history.
Champion Lance, believing that Dawn and the others were innocently curious about learning more of Ideku's history, gladly obliged them and pulled up the appropriate information. After the reborn trainers got the date down, they thanked Champion Lance and his cousin Clair for their time before they took off to go mess with time.
To be on the safe side, they also spoke with Kenta, a tall and gaunt looking man who worked at Blackthorn City Academy. Kenta, with his long and shaggy blonde hair, said he remembered when Blackthorn City Academy was doing up the scholarship offer for Ideku who won the Johto League Conference, but he didn't learn until much later that Akeno had allowed the Badorigo parents back then to transfer the offer to Katsuku.
The reborn trainers got important dates from Kenta as well, thanked him for his time, and this time for real got ready to go mess with time. With the dates provided to them, the reborn trainers had all that they would need to go back in time and save Ideku from having grown up in an abusive and very poor childhood.
Dawn seriously hoped that, when all is said and done, doing this time travel trip won't do anything to mess with the quest to complete the Pokédex.
...
(Johto, over five years ago)
The reborn trainers, using the time traveling powers of Trip's named Dialga Deelia, went back in time to between when Ideku won the Johto League Conference and when Blackthorn City Academy tried to offer him the scholarship to their prestigious trainer school. Before coming back in time, Kenny had used his movie makeup skills to disguise himself and the other reborn trainers so that no-one would be able to recognize them.
"So we just report to Blackthorn City Academy about how Ideku is suffering at home?" asked Dawn, disguised as a stereotypically geeky looking girl.
Nodding once, Mina who was disguised to look like a Japanese delinquent student said, "Yeah, as a school they're bound to investigate any claims made about a student or potential student suffering at home from abuse."
Trip, disguised to look like a sports team member student, said, "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go and report what we'll say we feel but we know is really going on."
Kenny, disguised to look like a perky goth student, said as he pointed the way, "To the place with the thing!"
...
"It did strike me as odd that Young Ideku decided not to challenge the Elite Four despite having earned the right to do so as he won the Johto League Conference," Kenta said when the disguised reborn trainers reported to him, claiming they were the younger siblings of students already at the school when asked why they were on campus.
"That's because we're friends of Ideku's and know that he didn't challenge the Elite Four because his parents forced him to give it up," said the disguised Kenny, "His parents hate him simply because he was born. He's had an awful home life because his parents blame him for their money issues."
Kenta looked very concerned. "...Yasuhiro is planning to offer Young Ideku a scholarship to attend Blackthorn City Academy here," Kenta began, "Given he did win the Johto League Conference that very recently took place. But this revelation of Young Ideku suffering from abuse at home, and from his parents no less, is very concerning."
"If his parents know about the scholarship offer, they'll more than likely try to have it transferred to Ideku's older brother Katsuku instead," said the disguised Trip, "The Badorigo parents blatantly favor Katsuku over Ideku."
Kenta once again looked concerned. "...Yasuhiro said he would have Akeno reach out to the Badorigo parents and tell them about the scholarship offer for Young Ideku," Kenta began, "But I'm going to make a case to have Yasuhiro let me extend the offer instead, and in person. Thank you for letting me know about this, children." Kenta got up from his seat and left his office, asking the disguised reborn trainers to leave as well.
...
Simply by telling Kenta about what Ideku is suffering from at home, the reborn trainers were able to right things up for Ideku's childhood growing up, at least as much as they could.
Kenta indeed go in person to where the Badorigo family lived, but it was unannounced so the parents didn't have time to gussy up. There, Kenta with a critical eye took note of signs around the Badorigo household. He even asked to see Ideku's bedroom; Ideku actually shared it with Katsuku, and there was a VERY clear difference in the two halves of the bedroom, with one being far better in every way imaginable.
It didn't take Kenta any time at all to note which boy had what side of the bedroom.
Kenta after seeing everything informed the Badorigo parents of two points. The first point is that Blackthorn City Academy was extending a full ride scholarship to Ideku. The moment that Ideku and Katsuku's mom begin trying to sway Kenta to give the scholarship offer to Katsuku instead was the moment where Kenta cut her off to inform her and her husband of the second point.
He was fully intending to call Child Protective Services on them.
Roughly forty-five minutes after Kenta made that declaration, CPS agents and a few police officers came by. They got the full story from Kenta, as well as Ideku and even a few points from Katsuku as well. Essentially, the Badorigo parents were arrested for the clear cut case of child abuse that they had been doing against their second born son. The Badorigo brothers were soon moved into foster care as their parents can't care for them.
They weren't free to do so, and they weren't allowed to do so by Johto region law.
...
The morning following 'Badorigo-gate' as it was being called, the reborn trainers learned that Kenta had actually taken in Ideku as a foster son. Katsuku was taken in by a trainer who had his own fashion line in Johto that specialized in denim jeans. Katsuku was also able to get into Blackthorn City Academy anyway, but due to his jeans-loving foster dad getting him in. The two Badorigo brothers would start together in the same school year as one another.
"What did I tell you, Dawn?" Mina said before she and the other reborn trainers got ready to go back to their own time, "Everything ended up nicely. The bad guys were exposed, justice was brought, and now the rest of Ideku's childhood is going to be fine just fine."
"I also heard that both Ideku and Katsuku are gonna get therapy to cover whatever issues they may have," Kenny said, "So now we don't gotta worry about them freaking out in our time. Well, we don't gotta worry about Ideku having issues, not sure about Katsuku because he died in Alola."
Shrugging, Dawn said, "Let's just get back to our time and get cracking on completing the Pokédex for all of the regions."
"Yeah, I wanna get out of my disguise and back into my regular outfit," Trip said. Using the time travel powers of Trip's named Dialga, the reborn trainers went back to their time, hoping that they had done enough to do right by the trainer who saved the world.
(Present Day)
When the reborn trainers got back to their time, they flew over to where they had parked The Jelly-Filled Donut. They found Sho and Rhyanna waiting to greet them outside of a flying ship alright, but the flying ship not only was fifty percent bigger than what they last remembered for some reason or another, but it was named The Big Beauty instead.
"...Great," Dawn scowled under her breath, "Already there's changes to what we remember."
"Did you say something, Captain?" Sho asked, looking mildly curious.
Gently shaking her head, Dawn said, "It's nothing, Sho. Me, Kenny, Trip, and Mina had just gotten back from some-"
"Hey Sho, is that Captain Twerp- err, -I mean Captain Dawn I hear?"
Dawn and the other reborn trainers stopped short upon hearing a familiar male voice. Suddenly and to their surprise, James of Team Rocket then of Team Scorn came walking down the drawbridge, followed by Meowth. James wore a baggy, loose fitting, light colored long sleeved shirt with the sleeve ends hanging loosely about his wrists as opposed to clinging tightly to them, a sleeveless flask jacket of dark green that was worn open, a baggy pair of light colored cargo pants, and a pair of clunky looking shoes.
"YOU!" Kenny exclaimed as he pointed at James and Meowth, catching both by surprise, "What in the name of Artemis are the two of you doing here?!"
"We're... members of the Sinnoh Champ's crew for her flying ship," Meowth said, a bit taken aback by Kenny's declaration, "We joined up with you twerps after Team Rocket was defeated wholly and for good. Jessie split ways with us after we refused to follow her into Team Heart."
"I... see," Dawn said, not wanting to alarm her crew of how she, Kenny, Trip, and Mina had absolutely NO knowledge of Team Heart. Clearing her throat, Dawn said, "Anyway, me and the others here are tired, and we'd like to rest on board of the flying ship now."
"Your ship, The Big Beauty, awaits you ma'am," Meowth said to Dawn as he and James stood out of the way to let the reborn trainers board, "I believe we're going to the Kanto region because you and your group here wants to get every species of Pokémon caught between the four of you, and you're starting in Kanto."
Dawn nodded once in the affirmative, glad to see that at least the quest of getting every Pokémon registered as caught between her and the other reborn trainers was still on. "Yes," Dawn replied, "Also, me as well as Kenny, Trip, and Mina will be in the meeting room to discuss Team Heart."
"If we have any info on them," Trip said, "Please compile all of it and bring it to us in the meeting room."
Sho, Rhyanna, James, and Meowth all looked at the reborn trainers with confused looks. "Umm... did you twerps hit your heads?" Meowth asked, "How could you all forget about the Team Heart Empire, and how it had taken over and now rules roughly half of the various regions in the world?"
The reborn trainers all had surprised looks on their faces. "We... just got done taking care of some rather strenuous work, so we're a bit out of sorts," Dawn replied.
...Well, it looks like both Kenny and Mina are going to be eating their shoes after all.
END, CHAPTER ONE
Author's notes;
This is the first chapter to the sequel to Sinnoh no Isekai. Here, the reborn trainers will go about the task of completing ALL of the regional Pokédexes, they will go about getting ALL of the Pokémon. But a time travel trip proposed by Mina to clean up Ideku's childhood because she felt he deserves better ended up having unintended consequences, mainly in the form of a new criminal organization called Team Heart that has more or less already won.
What all this means will be explored in detail later, as the next chapter will lay the groundwork for Team Heart, as well as what all they intend to do. Until then, take care.
